The Legion indicates to me that they don't have a means to supply receipts and the next shipment will go out April 23rd. Packages are sent quarterly.

I have a lot of beanie babies that I collected during the late 90s. I would welcome donating them. However, I do need a receipt as they are in mint condition and the donation amount for tax purposes is well above what I can get on the open market. Please let me know how I can get a receipt and where I could drop them off as well as whether you would prefer them in boxes or bags.

Thanks. Anne

OPEN COMMENTARY TO FELLOW CITIZENS

March 5, 2010

Town Hall Seeks to Grow a More Costly Govt in the Middle of the Worst Recession. UNBELIEVABLE

Without a fundamental requirement, or valid need, and in the middle of the Worst Recession since the 1930s Depression, and while families are struggling with their household budgets, and with people out of jobs and others concerned about loosing jobs,.....what does your Town Administrator want you to do, he wants to increase costs of municipal govt by "inventing" a new job position, a Financial Director and more!.... UNBELIEVABLE

Now who could ever believe the Town Administrator would seek to do grow a more costly town govt in these adverse economic times...UNBELIEVABLE

B.Y.O.B. Perhaps a more prudent fiscal course of action by the taxpayers is to... find a new Town Administrator? BELIEVABLE

We do not need any more residential use in this town. There are houses for sale that are not selling and people want more; why. Property taxes are high enough as they are. We need more money generating building done. Restrictions on the use of Davis and Crawford streets can be applied at any time so business traffic should not be an issue. Why go back to a business south zone if it will generate tax revenue without requiring tax brakes to get the building done.

It seems to me that we should live up to contracts as we do in the business world and the rest of the universe. It may just be that the Southborough people were better contract negotiators then we here in Northborough. Our history tells us this. Putting this aside, Southborough is correct in taking their chosen position. If agreements are not possible then the two sides must come to some sort or arrangement as this lollygagging is affecting the collective citizen's wallet. Get realistic folks and stop emulating the Washington gridlock.
