I have been a fan of Kraft dressings for many years so when Kraft sent me a bottle to try out I was super excited! The Let’s Get Zesty campaign is such a fun one to show how versatile Kraft Italian dressing is – super zesty and flavorful and perfect on salads, in recipes, etc,!

I love that Kraft is stepping things up a notch and making your time in the kitchen zestier with The Zesty Guy and with these fun Zestygrams you can send from the website! They had me cracking up!

There are so many uses for Kraft dressing, I found this cool one on the Kraft website for a primavera pasta toss!

Primavera Pasta Toss

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. fettuccine, uncooked
  • 1 cup cut-up fresh green beans (1-inch pieces)
  • 1 carrot, cut into matchlike sticks
  • 1/2 lb. trimmed fresh asparagus spears, cut into 1-inch lengths
  • 3 Tbsp. KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, omitting salt and adding beans and carrots to the boiling water for the last 3 min., and adding asparagus for the last 2 min.
  2. Heat dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat.
  3. Add onions; cook 3 to 4 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in broth; simmer on medium-low heat 5 to 6 min. or until slightly thickened.
  5. Add tomatoes; cook 2 to 3 min. or until heated through.
  6. Drain pasta mixture.
  7. Add to skillet; toss to coat.
  8. Top with cheese.

Living in Florida I always wear sandals.  I have casual ones for weekend days, dressy ones for evenings and even ones I wear to work.  I am always on the lookout for fun sandals and am loving these lindsay phillips interchangeable sandals!

LINDSAY PHILLIPS is the energetic inspiration and founding force behind SwitchFlops. Her footwear concept evolved from a high school art project—ceramic flip flops. Amazed by the response, Lindsay began designing functional flops with colorful straps, each adorned by a unique button. Her idea evolved when she realized that by using hook-and-loop fasteners she could create one shoe with many straps–unlimited choices with minimal effort. This simple, yet brilliant innovation was the birth of SwitchFlops. Lindsay applied for a patent on her idea before she graduated high school.

During her college years Lindsay perfected her interchangeable design. Her travels to Europe for classes and her voyage around the world on the Semester at Sea exposed her to a kaleidoscope of cultures, colors, and patterns that would influence her strap designs. Lindsay honed her design, merchandising and manufacturing skills working summers at Polo Ralph Lauren’s leather goods division in New York City. After her patent was granted in 2004, she joined forces with her mother, Liz, to start her business and find a manufacturer. SwitchFlops made its retail debut in January 2007 at the Surf Expo Trade Show in Orlando where it was showcased as a new and innovative product. Orders started rolling in and explosive growth followed. Lindsay’s venture is now a leading retailer of custom flip flops and shoes, with a growing lineup of bags and scarves.

With the amazing variety of SwitchFlops strap designs and sandals, Lindsay’s dream of changing from beach casual to a formal affair in a matter of seconds was realized. A dressier take on the classic flip flop, Gwen has a 1″ wedge heel, tapered patent straps, and a fun silver footbed for added shine. Comes with a coordinating round snap.

I got the casual Gwen wedge which is perfect with a 1 inch heel.  I have worn these with jeans, capris and pants – just depends! The embellishment is interchangeable and I received two different ones to try out some new looks! Check out all of the fun styles you can create!

See that picture in the middle of the first row?  That’s what my feet look like, only slightly worse.  Every so often, in the old days when I had some money, I would get a pedicure.  After much effort by the manicurist and torture on my part (my feet are extremely ticklish) they would emerge looking pretty good for about 3 days, ok for about 2 more then return to their natural state within a week.  Grant you, I really don’t do any upkeep on them to keep them looking good.

When they are really horrible, I’ll take a pumice stone or some scraping device to get them into the realm of human feet, other than that I can’t be bothered.  But now that money is really tight (OBTW – did one of you win the lottery last week?) and my feet will be in open shoes much longer, I need to do something.  Below are some home remedies that I’ve found on Pinterest that I thought might be worth trying.  Just click the picture to get to the originating post:

    

Ok, the following is just a picture that I’ve seen associated with a couple of different foot soaks.  The recipes are:

  1. Mix 1/4 c Listerine (any kind but I like the blue), 1/4 c apple vinegar and 1/2 c of warm water. Soak feet for 10 minutes and when you take them out the dead skin will practically wipe off!
  2. Fill a large bowl with warm water and add 1 cup apple cider vinegar with 1 cup Epsom salt. Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes, rinse and lightly scrub with pumice stone. Then say hello to gorgeous feet :)

And here is one product that I that would be worth trying and isn’t too expensive ($25), which I also first found on Pinterest.  I’ve read a lot of positive reviews online, but I take those with a large grain of salt.  Nobody that I know has used the product.  If any of you have, let us know, I’d really like to know how well it works:

Hopefully, I will take some of the advice available above and get some brand-spanking new-looking feet!

 I was approached by CVS to host a Girl’s Night In Party but when I explained to them that I work for a non-profit with a group of wonderful (but overworked!) women who would love to get pampered during their lunch breaks they were on board! I hosted 14 women for a fabulous Girl’s Lunch In party on Friday, May 17, 2013 where I work! Many of you know I work for a non-profit and we represent indigent clients in our local area in their civil cases.  We all love what we do but we won’t get rich doing it that’s for sure! I knew my co-workers would love some pampering!

Co-developed by actress Salma Hayek and CVS/pharmacy, Nuance Salma Hayek is a full beauty line offering high-quality products designed to enhance every woman’s individual beauty, at a price that she can afford. The comprehensive collection of more than 100 products within four categories – skincare, cosmetics, haircare and body – is available only at CVS/pharmacy locations nationwide and on cvs.com/nuancesalmahayek.

The first complete beauty line developed by an actress in partnership with a national retailer, Nuance Salma Hayek was inspired by Hayek’s grandmother, a cosmetologist who developed her own homemade beauty remedies. An embodiment of her rich family heritage, the products in the Nuance Salma Hayek line represent the fusion of advanced, proprietary formulations and personal beauty rituals passed down from generations. Each product in the line was inspired by Hayek’s own beauty rituals as well as her extensive global travels. Many ingredients, such as tepezcohuite, blue agave, prickly pear and lime enzyme, are being used in exclusive beauty formulas available to the mass market for the first time. Hayek rigorously tested every product in the line, partnering with formulators to ensure the highest standards and results.

None of them were familiar with the Nuance Salma Hayek line prior to the party.  The awesome folks at CVS sent each one of them a goodie bag stuffed with full-sized products for them to try! They also sent 2 $50 CS giftcards for me to raffle off! The winners were Pam and Amy and boy were they excited! I set the table in pink and green (Nicole’s Nickels colors!) and set the goodie bags on the chairs.  They also sent me a ton of the products for us to try at the party along with supplies like cotton balls and nail polish remover.

I set up several products in front of each chair and we went around the table opening them, testing them and I had more information such as price and ingredients that I added in as well.  The women had a great time trying out the products and the face serums and creams seemed to be the most popular along with the lip trio! The lip trio is such a fun product! It’s a shimmery lip gloss on one end, a coordinating lipstick in the middle and a lip liner on the other end.

I had ordered Italian for everyone and we had a great lunch of salad, garlic knots, chicken parmesan, penne with meatballs and stuffed shells! For dessert we had mini cupcakes and cake pops – adorable! The food was delicious but people couldn’t wait to get into their bags and into the items on the table! I heard a lot of positive comments and everyone was happy to hear the products are available exclusively at CVS.  Everyone there shops at CVS but most hadn’t seen the products or realized what the line was all about and all thanked me for letting them know more about it!

Favorites among the ladies were the already mentioned lip trio, the eye quad and the nail polish! Everyone loved the shape of the lip and eye quad and loved the combination of colors! We lingered over lunch and everyone left full and very happy to try out all of the great Nuance Salma Hayek products in their goodie bags!
