Hello everyone,  I am back from a very relaxing and much needed break (a.k.a. my Honeymoon!)

We had a fabulous time, and I am so thankful for the downtime and much needed rest.

However, I came back to a flurry of game changing news in the Internet Marketing world.  the eBay Partner Network has announced that it is no longer going to be paying affiliates directly for sales they generate and ACRU’s they send to eBay.

Rather, eBay will now pay affiliates for each and every click they generate to eBay.  The amount per click paid will depend on a ton of factors, and no one really knows if this will work out in our favor or otherwise until September/October when the plan is implemented.

It is now crucial that when designing Niche Stores, we make sure to send quality targeted traffic to eBay.  We do not want to send “window shoppers” to eBay, because that will lower our “per-click” earnings.  Ideally, we want each and every customer that clicks our affiliate link to immediately bid on or purchase the item that they clicked over with.  By sending eBay customers that are eager buyers and good repeat clients, our earnings per click will skyrocket and we can stand to make even MORE money with eBay affiliate programs than we already do.

For those who decide to get lazy and not do the required work to get ready for this transition, you may find yourselves on the outside looking in, with your commissions taking a huge hit.

Do your research, find out how to engage and excite your visitors about clicking on and bidding on eBay items, and you will thrive in this new era of eBay affiliate marketing!

As you have all probably heard by now, Microsoft and Yahoo have merged the search portions of their companies online ventures.

The big question to all of us Niche Marketers is

“Is this good or bad news for us?”

The answer is that only time will tell.  While I would be inclined to think that a more competitive venture against Google’s dominance can be nothing but positive, there is no way of telling how this will affect our business model.

I am hoping that the “MicroHoo” merger will cause Google (and obviously Microsoft/Yahoo) to be on the top of their respective games in the search industry.  We have to all keep a cautiously optimistic look with this merger, and hope that neither company takes any huge action against affiliates in a “knee-jerk” type reaction.  This has been a bit of an issue lately, with Google giving a big “G-Slap” to many “Review-style affiliate sites”.

As I said, only time will tell if this merger will be a positive or negative for us Niche Marketers.  Be sure to keep a close eye on all developments, and try to roll with the trends in keeping your visitors pouring in!

Hello everyone.  Today I want to touch upon a topic that has been on the forefront of my mind the last couple days.

Wordpress and Plugins.

The Niche Store Journey takes advantage of over 20 Wordpress plugins at the time of this writing, and I am convinced that a performance boost could be gained by culling some that are “nice to have”, but not crucial to the success and maintenance of the blog itself.

This holds especially true if you are building niche sites with Wordpress.  Having your page take 3-5 seconds or longer to load due to the processing power needed to run your plugins will not leave your visitors with a positive impression of your site from the onset, and may cause them to leave before it has even loaded!

I plan on doing a brutal assessment of which of my plugins are needed and which are simply clogging my blog’s performance.

I highly suggest you consider doing the same with your blogs and niche sites!

Hello everyone,

I last left off with a post talking about how I am simultaneously moving and preparing for my wedding (1 month and 3 days from today!)

I am happy to finally say that my internet connection is active at my new address.  It was a mighty struggle, as the cable company had to literally send 4 different technicians and “underground” crews to get everything set up.  This was a much more tedious and stressful ordeal than anticipated, but I am thankful that it is finally working, and I am doing my best to play ‘catch-up’ with all the recent work I have been unable to complete due to the move.

One funny thing that I realized throughout this whole ordeal however.  I have not done any research into whether this is currently being done or not (I would anticipate that it is…), but a good niche marketer could make an abs0lute killing marketing to “soon to be moving” families.  A niche site that contained links and reviews and (if you are savvy) coupons and discounts to places such as uhaul, cable companies/sattelite TV, etc…

I found it extremely frustrating and time consuming to go down my list of “to-do’s” for the move and realize that I needed to not only find the best prices for a truck to move our stuff, but also the most reputable tv, phone, and internet companies in my new home town.  Having a one-stop-shop resource for things of this nature would be a gold-mine for a marketer willing to put in the time and effort to making it work!

So of course, when one of my reader’s launches this site I have proposed, I expect a cut of the profits

Very quick update today.

I am not sure if I have mentioned it on the blog before or not, but I am engaged to be married on August 7th!

Right now (literally RIGHT now) my beautiful fiance and I are in the process of also packing and moving out of our apartment into a new place before the wedding.

I know there has been a lack of updates lately here on NSJ, and this has been the primary culprit.  Lack of time due to the move and wedding.

Please be aware that I have BIG plans for The Niche Store Journey in the future, and plan to keep bringing you guys stellar content on a regular basis, but it may take a while for me to settle back into a normal posting schedule.  I hope you can understand why I am needing to take some time away!

So I hope you will continue to stay subscribed to the RSS feed, and check out the updates as they come (infrequently for the next little while, and then more often as the summer goes on).

I am just about to run out the door for the day, but I wanted to leave this quick inspirational message for all the budding Internet Marketers out there reading this.
