FRIDAY 5th MARCH - Peek-A-Boo Presents GOLDEN BUG

This Funked Up Friday Peek-a-Boo presents a very special guest to control the dance floor proceedings; nun other than GOLDEN BUG! The Frenchmen with a killer ear for everything that is Disco and Funk, using a pinch of a electro-house just to spice things up. With having produced remixes for the likes of Adam Freeland and Lost Valentinos, he has recently been chosen by Nike to be one of 8 artists chosen to work on Nikes AM 90 project. Finally he is in Australia to bring you his energetic, talked about live show, with support by our very own Don of Disco; MALFUNKE.

SATURDAY 6th MARCH - FAIT ACCOMPLI with Special Guests!

Another music haven this Saturday Night with a stellar line up of bands, only to be backed by some fine electro house stylings from your favorite resident DJs. Headlining Tonights proceedings are FAIT ACCOMPLI, a sydney side band that has exploded onto the underground music scene. Their ground breaking live sets have also garnered them a solid reputation, great reviews and a healthy fanbase in their home town of Sydney. And all of this without management or a record label. They are joined by THOUSAND NEEDLES IN RED; with only a year under their belt have just finished their debut seven track ep with the legendary producer Jay Baumgardner at NRG Studios Los Angeles, set for release this year nationally and internationally. Both bands will be supported by fellow rockers The Bungalows and Exisles, with local resident Brett Sellwood finishing the end of the night with some banging house beats.

SUNDAY 7th MARCH - Dead Beat Band and Depths of Balsa supported by Brad Heald from THE VINES

This SUNDAY Night we have a special treat, with Dead Beat Band and Depths of Balsa performing at Never Land Bar. Last time Dead Beat Band were here they had a killer set opening for Phil Jamieson and Pat Davern (Grinspoon) and this time will be no different, with unquestionable amounts of energy and life when on the stage.

Depths of Balsa are one of our favourite local acts, and Mr Mark Conrad is a sexy beast! Get down for this FREE EVENT supported by Brad Heald from The Vines (DJ Set) & the mysterious Chingy.

I am very pleased to announce that it is now less than two weeks until Indie favorites THE MESS HALL perform live at Never Land Bar, in support of their new and critically acclaimed album, For The Birds. 'For The Birds' departs from The Mess Hall's previous recorded works in the scope of its musical ambition and the bands willingness to experiment. The Don of Disco; MALFUNKE, has made sure to make the last Friday of February the Best! and has lined up some very funky fresh sounds that guarantees to get you to groove it, move it, shake it cross the dance floor...

SATURDAY 19th APRIL - SOMETHING ELECTRIC presents Max Judo & The Flavours

What an amazing Saturday Night line up we have install for you this week folks, with some tasty treats delighting the hungriest of music lovers.

To begin the night we have The Flavour; a uniquely Australian take on reggae and funk, with the band thriving best on stage, swapping instruments and having the time of their lives offering up a distinct and soulful take on the kind of music their heroes make.

Following we have Four-piece Gold Coast band MAX JUDO, a perfected art of blending traditional didgeridoo and contemporary rock, to produce one of the freshest sounds to come out of Australia in the last decade. Max Judo have been traveling extensively, playing alongside some of the biggest acts in Australia (Xavier Rudd, Marcia Hines and Mental as Anything), though have manage to make it back to perform right here at Never Land Bar, surely making the home visit worth the while! 

To continue the rest of the night, we have the smooth house sounds of Chingy, and the master of all things dutch and bumpy; Brett Sellwood, finishing the end of a perfect evening..

Friday - The Don of Disco MALFUNKE

Yes folks you have got it right, another Funked Up Friday is upon us with the man who never stops dancing – MALFUNKE. He is here once again to present PEEK-A-BOO; presenting your favorite indie dance and house beats through-out the night, that I’m sure will keep you movin’ and groovin’ all the way until our little friend ‘the sun’ pops its head into our lives.

SATURDAY - Goons of Doom & T-Rek

This Saturday night brings us a clash of ‘music’ titans, with a mixture that is sure to keep any person from blowing up in boredom. To start this massive line up we have local favorites GOONS OF DOOM rocking out with support from Haldane’s Daughters and The Milkshakes in the first half of the night. This leads us to our next act, with his latest track ‘Out My Bitch’ topping the ARIA Club Charts for two weeks straight now, with no sign of moving! This is of course T-REK! And he will be showcasing his massive club hit as well as the finest in grunge and club music there is, with support from the don of disco himself; Malfunke. With so many acts, there is something for the whole family.

Countdown is nearly over ladies and gentlemen, with only 6 days left until this very, very… VERY! EXCLUSIVE, FIRST & LAST TIME ONLY PERFORMANCE!! By Grinspoon’s very own Phil Jamieson and band buddy Pat Davern; performing a very intermit acoustic set right here at Neverland. This set will be in the minds of many, with crowd favorites like ‘Chemical Romance’ and ‘Better Off Alone’ sure to grab you by the ears, with no escape from this rare, raw sound that many will never be gracious enough to ever hear, let alone step into a room where the band itself is striped back to its core.
