When it comes to buying for your business there is are a lot of factors to consider. When it comes to buying technology it seems like a committee is required in order to get anything approved. If you are looking for a new piece of mobile technology, or you happen to be on the decision making committee for someone's technology purchases then there is one real issue that you need to consider. Should your company be buying a netbook or an ultrabook?

If you are wondering exactly what is the difference between those two types of mobile devices then you are not alone. To the uninitiated a netbook and an ultrabook, but have no fear because today we are going to get you up to speed in no time at all.

Meet The Netbook

A netbooks is like a small laptop. They usually feature small screens and a very light weight that makes then ideal for travel. These machines are smaller than an ultrabook, but generally have less in the way of storage. They're size means that they are ideal for a worker who travels a lot. Since their smaller memory relies on cloud storage for the bulk of its work this machine may run into security issues so this machine is less of a viable option if you plan on storing customer data on the machine. Using web access to get to your companies secured site then this option should not be a problem at all.

Meet The Ultrabook

The ultrabook is bigger, with a more advanced processor and usually HD graphics capability. These systems are a little bit beefier in both storage capacity and size so they are ideal for workers who might want to work at home, people in graphic design or workers who will need to have software installed on the machine to do their jobs. These machines are also more likely to last in the long term (when it comes to software compatibility) so if you are looking for a long term then this is the way to go.

Which one is right for your company? That's a decision only you can make.

When it comes to buying yourself a new ultrabook there are a lot of options out there. You could spend a lot of money and get a machine that meets your needs but feels like you spent to much. Or, you could buy a machine that is easy on the budget, but does not give you quite everything that you need. Neither of those things is exactly what you would call a satisfying conclusion.

But, it does not have to be that way. There is a balance that can be struck between your wants/ needs in a computer and the needs of your wallet. The trick is to find those machines, the diamonds in the rough, that the company has set at a budget friendly price point without skimping on the technology.

The Samsung Series 3 NP300V5A-A0EUS is one of those machines, but is it right for your need? Well lets take a better look and you can decide for yourself.

Lets begin with your budget. This machine will set you back a fairly modest $651.95. When you consider some of the other machines out there with similar specs you will find that you can end up spending a lot more for a similar machine. This system is sporting an Intel Core i5 2450M Processor that is running at a speed of 2.45GHz, and that processor is backed up by 6GB of DDR3 RAM. That is enough to make even most casual PC gamers happy. As for hardcore gamers, let level with each other, you probably want a machine designed for gaming only. For most of us that's not an option, but this machine is good enough to let you run WOW and do you work all in one.

The system as 500GB of hard drive space, but also the capacity to add on external storage if you need to store a lot of large files and travel with them. The Samsung Series 3 NP300V5A-A0EUS has a 15.6-Inch Screen that is supported by an Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor, so movie buffs and HD junkies should be happy with their video quality and size. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

On the whole this machine is well rounded, and can satisfy a number of types of end users, without busting your wallet in the process.

When it comes to your new ultrabooks you need to accessorize. If you have a mother (and let's be honest, most of us do) then you are in need of a gift. Before you buy anything I have to tell you a secret. I've been talking to your mom. While she simply loved last year's fuzzy unicorn statuette, this year shes wants a gift that is useful. If you are reading this then the odds are good that you need a gift that is going to get there quickly and if you're not going to get to see your mom one that will ship well. You also want to impress. So, if you're ready to show up your upstart siblings, then you are going to get mom an ultrabook. That way she can video chat with the grand kids (or anyone else, just don't pry), enjoy quality apps, shop online and do everything else she wants to. Today, rather than giving you opinions we are just going to talk about the costs and the specs. That way you can choose for your budget, and your mom's needs.

When it comes to choosing an ultrabook there are a few things you need to factor into the decision. One of those things, the most important thing perhaps, is the ability of the particular ultrabook is going to meet your needs as an end user. Believe it or not this is really the only thing that you have to worry about. Sure, a lot of people will try to convince you that you need the biggest machine with the highest screen resolution to be happy, but they are likely either being focused on the social status of the machine, or they are trying to sell you that bigger machine.

Today, we are going to take a look at the HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre and see if this is the machine for you.

Lets begin with the cost. if you get this one on Amazon it will set you back $1,234.65, which is slightly less than the in-store costs, but every bit of savings is a good thing. When you get down to it paying less for a machine will probably make you happier with it in the long run. Now that we have that out of the way, lets take a peek at the specs.

This system is sporting an 2.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processor, which is more than enough to run the software you will need. Admittedly this will not be the fastest processor on the block when it comes to heavy usage applications, but unless you are planning on rendering animations or doing a lot of video editing with professional level software this should not present much of a challenge for day to day use. The system is backed up by a hard drive with 128GB of memory. While that could be bigger, the size will be ample unless you plan on storing your entire media collection on an ultrabook and remember that with mobile devices you always have the cloud to store.

The screen is 14 inches with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card to back it up. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the system sports an impressive 9.5 hours of battery life. So is the HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre right for your needs? In the end only you can decide but for the average student or office worker this model should be more than fine.

It seems like the world of netbooks is shrinking and the world of ultrabooks are expanding into a bigger and bigger world. For a format that is based completely on a limited set of Intel processor there are a dizzying array of options for you to choose from. So, how do you make a choice? Well you could dedicate all of your spare time to doing the research, taking an endless spans of time working on figuring out who has the most value per dollar for your needs, but that could easily become a full time job. If you want a more sane option you could just read some reviews, like the ones found on this site, to see if the machines you are interested in are right for your life and your needs.

Today we are going to take a look at the ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH72 and see if it is right for your needs. Lets begin with the biggest factor for most people making a technology purchase, the price point. This machine will set you back about $1,289.99 should you choose to buy it.

Now, lets take a look at the specs. The system is sporting an Intel Core i7-2677M Processor that runs at a speed of 1.8GHz. The system has a 256 GB hard drive, which is not really good, unless you are ready and willing to add a lot of your storage to the cloud or to external storage. If you need a lot of memory then you are going to have to look another way. If you are in search of a fast machine that is good for streaming then the ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH72 is the machine for you. The system aslo has a 13.3-Inch screen. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

So is the system right for you? Only you can tell that, but you could be happy with the amount if you have a love of the cloud.

When it comes to the world of ultrabooks there are a lot of different choices out there. For an emerging mobile device format there are a stunning number of choices. With so many options out there how is the average consumer to make an informed choice? Well, one of the best things that you can do in order to protect your hard earned money from a lemon is to look at your choices head to head. Today we are going to take a look at the HP Folio 13-1020US 13.3-Inch Ultrabook and the Acer Aspire S3-951-6646 13.3-Inch Ultrabook. Now lets can the chat and talk about each of the models one at a time.

HP Folio 13-1020US 13.3-Inch Ultrabook

For $869.27 this system sports an Intel Core™ i5-2467M with 3 MB of L3 cache to back it up. The hard drive is sized at 128 GB. The screen is a 13.3" diagonal LED-backlit HD with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card to back it up. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the system boasts 9 hours Battery Life.

Next lets talk about the Acer Aspire S3-951-6646 13.3-Inch Ultrabook This model is slightly cheaper at $799.00. The system as an Intel Core i5 Processor running at a speed of 1.6GHz. The hard drive has 320 GB, which is more than ample. The screen is a 13.3-Inch Screen with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card to back it up. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium and the system has about 6 hours Battery Life.

So, who is the winner. Well, unless you have a real reason to need more in the name of battery you would be better of going with the Acer Aspire S3-951-6646 13.3-Inch Ultrabook. It costs less and the hard drive is bigger. Of course if you need the longer battery life you will be happy with the other one.

For the time being the majority of ultrabooks on the market are rocking the newest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 7. That is, with the notable exception of the Macbook Air, but Macbook owners already know where to get their apps. What about you Windows folks? Where are you going to get apps for your Windows 7 Ultrabook, or even know what is good? Well today we are going to look at some of the best app and where to get them.

Where

Believe it or not this is the easy part. You can just visit Intel's App Up Center and download apps in one secure and convenient place.

Best Apps For You

Well, for the majority of end users at least. Here is a look at some of the best apps, with a little blurb that will let you decide if it is truly for you.

Corel Write

This is a great single function word processor. No stress, no distractions and no problems with compatibility. As the official description says, " Easily open and save Microsoft Office Word files, and publish to PDF to share files and keep your formatting intact." That may not sound like much of an advantage right now, but when you consider the bevy of mobile devices out there

Read Text

If you want to be able to work while you drive, or just make your life simpler with long tasks then you should consider Read Text. This app can convert your MS Word, Webpage, PDF files, and Emails into an audio file, reading your text to you. This option is great for both students, who may learn better by hearing and reading information, and busy professionals looking to make the best of their spare time. Just don't try to use it on a language learning book, as pronunciations will not be perfect.

Apalia

You knew at least one game had to make the list. Apalia is a fantasy game that is done in short episodes, which makes it perfect for on the go gaming. Its a little graphics light, but the game play is addictive.

Think of these three as your jumping off point in the world of apps. Look at these, and then check out the store and look around for more apps you might like.

There are a lot of great ultrabooks out there and you can have one, if you know how to weed out the ones that are not worth your time and only spend you hard earned money on a machine that will meet your needs as an end user. That way you can only get the machine that you need without paying too much. Today we are here to take a look at the HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre 14-Inch Ultrabook and decide if it is in the good ultrabook or the bad ultrabook category.

Lets start with the price tag. This netbook will set you back about $1,262.99, which is not bad at all. Other offerings in the Ultrabook category can go up to 1,500 or even 1,700 dollars for a solid model. If you want to find a model that won't set you back too badly here is a good choice. Now, lets take a look at the specs.

The processor is a 2.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2467M Processor, which is backed up by 4 GB SDRAM. While its not the biggest kid on the ultrabook block it is more than enough to get the job done for a variety of different situations. It is ideal for people who want to use it for work and school purposes. For those of you who are in search of a big hit for media may not be as happy. While the system does have a 14-Inch Screen and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor the HD is not an amazing as it could have been. Now, onto storage the system has a 128GB hard drive. As long as you store big files on the cloud you will be fine.

The operating system on the HP ENVY 14-3010NR Spectre 14-Inch Ultrabook is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and it sports 9.5 hours of battery life. So as long as you're there to work this system will give you what you want.

When it comes to getting apps for your ultrabook there is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that as long as you have one of the major operating systems you already have access to a wide range of apps for your ultrabook. The bad news is that apps designed only for ultrabooks are rare. So you won't get bragging rights, but you will have access to a library of apps ready to go. Sounds like a small trade off to me. Now onto the only important question.

What is your OS?

Your operating system will determine what apps you have access to. So for the rest of this piece you can choose your OS and take a look.

Windows

For your Windows apps you can get your apps in a lot of different places. You can find listings with reviews on places like Cnet, or you can find them on the Microsoft site, where they do sell apps for Windows. Just be sure that you're not trying to use an app for a "Windows mobile device". Yes its Windows, and yes its mobile, but when they say that they mean a Windows phone or table, not your ultrabook. Just do yourself a favor and keep to reputable sources only. That way you can bee sure not to get a bonus piece of malwear with your new app. Be sure to check your system requirements for each app.

Mac

When it comes to ultrabooks and Mac your choices are the Macbook Air and the Macbook Air. Like all Mac's you should have access to the App Store. If you don't have it yet update your operating system and it should be there. This store will give you access to a wide range of apps, both paid and free that can give you what you need without fail. As long as it says you're app is available for Macbook Air it should work with no problems at all.

Other

If you get an ultrabook with a proprietary OS then you are going to have to look at your doc (or where ever your apps are stored, to find your software management system. If you don't see it check the manufacturers website.

Now you can have your apps without any stress. Go forth and be productive.
