What does your zodiac sign say about your career for the New Year?

The year 2010 holds varying astrological advice for the 12 zodiac signs. The following advice from Indastro.com range from caution to positive vibrations to challenges on career for the new year.

The year 2010 is a positive year for fiery Aries due to an inherent tendency to be dynamic and hard working. Positive actions will help you overcome competitions.

2010 for Taureans is going to be a landmark year. Viewpoints will be accepted with respect. Earthy Taureans will grow in stature as well as create new opportunities and values which create gains for the next few years. Concentrated activity is therefore good.

2010 for Geminis sees volatile trends in life. Luck will definitely rise for the airy Geminis. It would then be advisable to avoid major decisions or changes in personal life as well as career now. The advice of a trusted friend will be helpful.

Among Cancerians, 2010 will find them more assertive than in previous years. Try to work on avoiding conflicts and losing your temper. Hard work and willingness to experiment and network would bring progress for the domesticated watery Cancer.

2010 for Leos would bring some trial and challenges, thus aggression and stress is expected. Control investment, enforce financial planning and avoid speculation of any kind. Anger should be controlled at all times by the fiery Leo.

Among earthy Virgos, 2010 would bring changes in life overall so you might experience pressure from competitions. Take this as a learning phase. Hardships will bring in progress.

2010 for Librans will bring new avenues and status will rise. The year starts with a hyperactive phase in career. It will be wise to remain conservative in money matters for the airy Libran.

Mixed trends will operate during 2010 for Scorpions. You will enter into a powerful phase this year and there will be growth due to multiple factors. There will be rise in level of your luck and new opportunities could come due to hard work and unexpected sources. Volatile at first, career will pickup tremendously thereafter for the watery Scorpions.

2010 for Sagittarians bring with it some challenges. There will be more responsibility but pressure on superiors will rise. A steady control over the Sagittarian’s fiery temper is needed in the first quarter of the year.

2010 will see a mix of positive and negative trends for Capricornians. The year will commence with a rise in financial position. This is a period of caution and this earthy zodiac should take care that wasteful expenses do not neutralize your gains. Joint areas of life will experience hurdles.

For airy Aquarians, 2010 would see vibrant trends in work as well as finances. These experiences would help you progress and gain in the next few years. You will find yourself dynamic.

2010 will bring some challenges and unexpected events for Pisceans. Investment should be avoided and speculation of any sort is totally prohibited in the early part of the year. This seductive zodiac sign will find a gradual rise in distance for the New Year.

The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ brings an affirmation of man’s spiritual and living relationship with Him. His presence brings forth a revolutionary influence on the life of one who believes in Him. As He has healed the sick and ministered to many, his stories of yesteryears had been relived in the present in testimonies of a number of people who received healing and blessings through his name.

This psychic drive to believe in a powerful supernatural being goes beyond an everyday physical existence. It goes beyond material blessings and successful careers and relationships. It is a holistic and harmonious psyche to relate wholeheartedly with one who gives wholeheartedly as well. It is a relationship to announce the good news that Christ is spiritually alive and real. This festive season affirms a stronger relationship with Christ for those who already believes in Him and finds Him in their everyday lives.

Such is the testimony of evangelist Dr Matthew Kuruvilla who was healed of his paralysis by his faith in Jesus Christ, during a Heavenly Feast crusade in Thailand last December 10-13, 2009. Dr Matthew called Thangu before he was baptized, was paralyzed from the neck down after a car accident in 1995. He prayed unceasingly for one and a half years till his paralysis was totally healed.

Prayed for by Bro. Amos Singh, Dr Matthew recalled, “I could not believe I was standing without anyone’s help. I felt deep peace come over me. I have gone to many religions and have seen many miracles but it is only Jesus that can give peace that surpasses all understanding and the Joy of the Holy Spirit. It is not the relationship with a book or the religion but the person Jesus Christ. His blood removes every guilt from the conscience.”

His healing also began his fervent preaching of the living presence of Christ.

From Pension Bhavan in India where he did his first sharing, the meetings moved to Suvarna Auditorium to Karthika to K.P.S.Menon Auditorium to accommodate more people. Every Sunday, more than 15,000 people are assembling to worship Jesus Christ. His preaching moved to other parts of the world including China and Thailand.

After his car accident which resulted to women claiming that they had an affair with him, Tiger Woods came to find out that what he does in his bedroom is also a public affair. He must have been so smug thinking that he can get away with being a philandering husband and still enjoy the image of a revered public figure. Not when woman after woman emerged confessing their sexual trysts with the top golfer that the good boy image of Tiger Woods came crumbling down the drain. The scandal also meant crumbling of his endorsements from sponsors including Gillete, Gatorade, and Accenture. With all the controversy surrounding Tiger Woods, who is Tiger Woods and what make him the way he is?

Astrologers have an answer for the top golfer who scores perfect in teeing off those golf balls in their holes, and acts like he has the world at his control.

Tiger Woods’ Sun in Capricorn creates a person who is an extremist. This type of person thinks they can have their cake and “eat it too”, so says SpiritNow.com.

“His birthdate at December 30, 1975 at 10:50pm gives him a Sun in Capricorn and an ascendant in Virgo. Both signs are completely obsessed with perfectionism and have a deep need to be number 1. He is a strategist and an analyst in life. He plays to win.

Tiger Woods has his moon in Sagittarius, which can make a person quite restless emotionally and romantically. Staying with one person or in one place for too long can make someone with a moon in the sign of the Archer restless and anxious. They may feel so lucky that they are above the law or they may feel that they could get away with anything without being punished.

Jupiter is trine Neptune in his chart which makes him feel that he is protected by lucky forces that would have protected him from having any of his vices being discovered by the public or by his wife.

Mars opposes Neptune in his chart, which can also create an individual with a very strong sex drive. When aroused, this person’s values and morality go right out the window. The extremist in him, nothing matters to this individual, but winning and the conquest which may serve him well as a professional competitive golfer, but not necessarily in his personal life.”

SpiritNow.com says he also “has Venus in Scorpio making him tend to have a lot of secrets and those who are close to them often feeling duped or manipulated as they go about their affairs. Pluto, the planet of the inner self is square in Sun means that Tiger Woods has a very secret life.”

In a polytheist society where freedom of faith exists, the belief in religion and new age beliefs like astrology are both practiced.

The human mind expands and searches for the meaning of life about the supernatural. Finding the answers in signs, stars, and reincarnation offers a diverse and wide array of the explanations and meaning of a spiritual journey.

So we come to know of indigenous peoples and their rituals and their faith on spirits of animals, trees, and rivers while believing in the Great Spirit God.

We come to know of the Greeks and the Romans who believe in the meaning of stars and the influence of these on their lives.

These earlier spiritual quests come to have an influence on those who search for spiritual enlightenment while practicing other religions as well including Christianity.

A survey done by a major religion polling group to tackle Americans’ belief in such things as “the evil eye” and “spiritual energy in trees”, was conducted in August by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.

Researchers found that 24 percent of U.S. adults sometimes attend services of a faith different from their own.

The study also found Americans’ personal beliefs often combine aspects of major religions such as Christianity with Eastern or New Age beliefs like reincarnation and astrology.

For example, 25 percent of about 4,000 U.S. adults surveyed believe in reincarnation, the rebirth of the soul in another body.

For most of the questions — “have you ever had a religious or mystical experience” and “have you seen or been in the presence of a ghost” — have been asked before, and in both cases, there was a significant increase in the number of people saying yes.

Nearly half of those surveyed in August said they have had a mystical/religious experience, compared with 22 percent in a 1962 survey. The percentage who said they have interacted with a ghost doubled from 9 percent in 1996 to 18 percent this year.

It was in the 14th to 18th centuries that witch hunts led to them witches getting burned or hanged in Europe to North America. Also, Anabaptists and other non-secular religious heretics were persecuted and tortured.

The witch hunt phenomenon in the earlier years branding witches as the work of the devil persists with related interpretation as of now. The recent death sentence of Lebanese psychic Sibat Ali by the Saudi Arabian government, tells that this form of spiritual belief and exercise continues to be an endangered practice.

That is to say, it is still a struggle among psychics and fortune tellers to be recognized of their rare gift and occupation as a legitimate belief or a religion.

Why it persists as not totally accepted is a continuing question. Considered as a form of polytheism by the Saudian government for example, witchcraft stands as a belief which is not allowed by Muslims.

Yet in a supernatural world where gods and spirits are not seen physically but instead felt and encountered manifests their presence in the consciousness of humans in various cultures and experiences. This has led to belief in other types of recognizing the supernatural aside from a common type of belief.

Where the practice has led to useful predictions and helped missing people while it upheld the presence of God, other forms of belief is an encouraging spiritual practice.

But not when the practice violates human rights of individuals or a group of people.

In Tanzania last year, some 50 people who had albino features were killed and their body parts used for black magic by voodoo practitioners. An albino’s arms, fingers, genitals, ears, and blood are highly prized on the black market, believed to contain magical powers.

Called muti, the murders are particularly brutal, with knives and machetes used to hack off limbs, breasts, and other body parts from the victims—including children. Some believe that because belief in witchcraft and muti is so accepted in East Africa, police, politicians, and judges are hesitant to pursue the criminals too vigorously.

Voodoo has its limitations. It is when people get killed in the process that it becomes a criminal practice.

Have you ever felt a part of you is lost and you just want to get it back?

Soul recovery is based on the idea that as we go along in life we may lose pieces of our soul. There can be a few causes but one of the most common is due to an unresolved traumatic experience, shamanic practitioner Steven Farmer says.

Once found, the practitioner brings the soul piece back and installs it to its rightful place, as an aspect of the client’s primary soul. From there it begins the process of re-integrating.

Steven Farmer recalls his experience in retrieving his soul. “Putting some shamanic drumming on, I relaxed on the floor and called on my power animals, Raven and Wolf. I asked them to take me to the soul piece that most needed to be returned.”

“Soul retrieval takes a few weeks for the previously dissociated soul aspect to integrate with the primary soul. Often the changes are subtle, yet sometimes they’re quite dramatic. The simplest description is that the person feels whole again, like having discovered something that was lost and has been found”

Steven Farmer advises anyone who feels he/she lost a psychic part of herself/himself to have a one to one session with a shamanic practitioner or in a group, in a guided meditation by doing the following:

Call in your spirit animal that you favor.

Ask this spirit animal to accompany you to the Lower World, one of three worlds in the shamanic paradigm found in many indigenous cultures.

Close your eyes put on some background music or preferably a shamanic drumming piece and allow your consciousness to gently float to the Lower World with your spirit animal at your side.

You’ll arrive in a meadow. You may walk to other areas, such as the ocean, mountains, or desert. Wherever you eventually find yourself, ask your spirit animal to please take you to the soul piece that most needs to be returned to you. The image is one of you earlier in your life. Sometimes the soul piece is shown as a ball of light.

Reach out both hands, palms up, and ask that essence to come into your hands. Bring both hands to your heart; take three very slow deep breaths to allow the soul fragment to join your primary soul. Be sure to stay aware of this once lost aspect. Be sure to keep it.

Shamans believe that there is a animal spirit guide for every person. The animal spirit guide may be a hummingbird, a tiger, a snake, an elephant or a lion which guides a person in his actions and decisions, and may also be a source of healing. Usually a spirit animal is not domesticated but from the wild which has a greater connection to the natural world.

Shamanic practitioner and licensed psychotherapist Dr Steven Farmer says, “The awareness that spirit sometimes shows up in animal form was inherent in the cultural beliefs of indigenous peoples. As human consciousness continues to evolve during this present era, we look with greater interest and curiosity at what these ancient peoples can teach us, and some of the greatest lessons are what we can learn from the animals, whether in the flesh or in spirit.”

When an animal makes an appearance, whether physically or symbolically, in an unusual way or repeatedly in a short span of time, the spirit of that animal is attempting to get a message to you, the shamanic practitioner says.

“Often you’ll have a hunch or a sense of the message from this spirit guide. Trust it. As you’ll see, it might even be a distant, long-deceased relative that is guiding and protecting you by showing up in animal form.”

In his book, Earth Magic, Dr Farmer says, “There are different ways you can find your power animal. It may come to you in meditation, vision, dream, or shamanic journey. Another way is to pay attention to animals you feel strongly attached to. The animal may reveal itself to you repeatedly whether in physical form or a symbol of it and you feel a soul connection to that animal.Or you may ask the Great Spirit who your power animal is and notice which animals shows in your consciousness.”

Nurture your power animal for it may stay with you for several years. Know what makes your spirit animal and derive power from it.

Crystal ball readings aligned with the occult?

Gloucestershire parish priest Rev Nick Bromfield warned that “dark forces” were on the rise in the area after he found a severed sheep’s head mounted on a pole outside a church in his parish.

Even psychic related instruments are lumped up in the warnings against dabbling in occult events issued by Rev Bromfield to his congregation, which includes ‘even those that may seem harmless, such as crystal ball readings or pub psychic nights.’

The priest’s warning came when “offerings” had been ritualistically laid out in circles or around stones in his three Forest of Dean parishes – Drybrook, Lydbrook and Ruardean, Guardian.co.uk reports.

‘The vicar suggested that the geographical position of the forest close to the border between England and Wales could be a factor. “It’s difficult to quantify but there is something about borders that attracts occult activity and the seclusion is also very attractive. They are allowing in forces that can do great damage.”

The Forest of Dean has long been regarded as a place of ghosts, big cat sightings and other strange happenings. In drama it was immortalized by Dennis Potter in his strange play for the BBC, Blue Remembered Hills, in which a boy is burned to death, guardian.co.uk reports.

“Occultism is the study of a deeper truth that exists beneath the surface. It can involve such subjects as extra-sensory perception, magic, astrology, spiritualism, and numerology. There is often a strong religious element to these studies and beliefs, and many occultists profess adherence to religions such as neopaganism and gnosticism. While Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism are generally not considered occult, some of their modern interpretations can be”, Wikipedia notes.

The study of the ‘truth’ has a long way to go.

Deputy Chief Bill Gavitt from the New London Police Department who died two weeks ago is remembered for his being a good cop. Being an exceptional detective, he helped solve many murders, robberies, rapes and other crimes using conventional and unconventional means. He worked with psychic Pat Gagliardo during his years of active duty.

“In one occasion, Gavitt and Gagliardo searched for the body of the city’s water superintendent Gordon A. Beckwith, who had been missing for several days and was suspected of having fallen or been pushed into the Thames River”, Ann Baldelli of Theday.com writes.

“Psychic Pat Gagliardo also helped Gavitt another time by leading police to the body of Richard Eastman, a Coast Guard warrant officer, who was fished out of the river in his car in 1979. Gavitt just wanted to get the bad guys, or solve a case, and he didn’t mind using unconventional means.”

Psychics have long aided cops in their surveillance work especially on locating missing persons. Gavitt was wise and wise enough to know the value of psychics’ contribution to detective work, much as he knew a good psychic from a false one.

Gavitt also is remembered for having a good heart.

He sacrificed his own job so a younger captain could keep his position when the City Council cut the deputy chief’s position in a tight budget year.

“Say whatever you want about Bill Gavitt, but he had a good heart and a knack for talking to people. He was far from perfect, and his excesses, drinking and smoking, likely contributed to his death, but he was one of those guys who were both tender and rough around the edges at the same time,” TheDay.com reports.

For making prediction on a satellite TV Channel, Lebanese psychic Ali Sibat was arrested by religious police in the holy city of Medina and then sentenced to death November 9, Startribune.com relays.

‘Sibat is one of scores of people reported arrested every year in Saudi Arabia for practicing sorcery, witchcraft, black magic and fortune-telling. These practices are considered polytheism by the government of this deeply religious Muslim country’, Donna Abu-Nasr of Associated Press writes.

Withcraft which is then considered as polytheist by this Muslim nation means belief in God is only focused to Allah and no one else? Anyone believing or practicing their faith in other supernatural beings, gods or deities other than Allah is a crime.

Where freedom of faith and religion is deeply enshrined in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights but not adopted by Saudi Arabia, it raises questions on the government’s respect for some of its citizens’ practice on other faiths.

Some Islamic countries have criticized the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for its ‘perceived failure to take into the account the cultural and religious context of Islamic countries’. Is it not also logical that their perception be consistently followed to respect other individual faiths as well?

Muslim nation-members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference officially adopted the June 30, 2000 Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam , an alternative document that says people have “freedom and right to a dignified life in accordance with the Islamic Shari’ah”.

Yet the Shari’ah, similar to the Christian Bible, apparently is open to a wide array of interpretations.

The Human Rights report highlights the ongoing complaints over the Saudi justice system, based on the Shari’ah, ‘which can often result in dramatically inconsistent sentences.’ The Report called on the Saudi government to halt “its increasing use of charges of ‘witchcraft,’ crimes that are vaguely defined and arbitrarily used.”

Another Saudi woman Fawza Falih was sentenced to death by beheading in 2006 for the alleged crimes of witchcraft, recourse to supernatural beings, and animal sacrifice.
