Visiting Biltmore Mansion in Asheville, NC

I never thought I could visit Asheville, NC instantly. Thanks to my dear friend who influenced me to go and visit Asheville and off we went together on an early fall in October 2013.

I fell in love with Biltmore Mansion. It has many different attractions in store for tourists like us. For more than a $50/person price (I think it's closest to $59), it was all worth it. Too bad we only had to stay for more than a few hours and not like the usual whole day affair for most people. However, we made most of what we can in Biltmore Mansion. We toured the mansion itself. We were not allowed to take pictures though from the inside. Since we wanted to make the most of our time without having to consume most of it inside the mansion, we never had the chance to listen to the tour guides. We just had the tour booklets by ourselves and paved our way there. Then we ventured the beauty of Biltmore Estates through its gardens, lakes, lagoon, and even went wine-tasting in their winery area. It was indeed a fun-filled day I should say.

My "Mall of Asia" Remembrance

Mall Of Asia will always be a famous landmark when one is in Manila. Everyone seems to know about MOA and everyone who visits Manila never missed the chance to visit the biggest "Mall of Asia".

As a traveler to and from Manila, I also try not to miss MOA and I just can't help but take a picture of that big globe located at the near entrance of the mall. Who else couldn't notice such wonderful landmark?

Would you believe that my first ever try of the most talked about milk tea in the country was not in Davao City but in Antipolo City, Philippines?

I got so intrigued with milk teas because I kept hearing about it anywhere. To satisfy my curiosity, we got the chance to visit a shop named as Moonleaf along Antipolo City near Las Brisas, where our 5-day seminar was held. Indeed, the taste was great and that makes me love milk teas from then on.

With the stiff competition in mall businesses plus the rise of new malls in Davao City, the Gaisano Mall of Davao has also geared towards developing more in this business so as to attract more customers and make it as people's mall of choice too.Thus, the existence of "The Peak" of Gaisano Mall of Davao whom the management has developed and be among the mall's attraction.

The former carpark located at the fourth floor of the carpark building has now become one of the busiest attraction of Gaisano Mall. Located at The Peak are the rows of restaurants, coffee shops, and other dining choices. In the middle of "The Peak" is a fountain. One can also experience the fresh air from up above and also gets to enjoy the views of the city and of Samal.

SM Lanang Premiere's Dancing Fountain

Since the opening of SM Lanang Premiere in Davao City last year, I haven't witnessed the most admired Dancing Fountain as mentioned by a lot of people who were able to witness it. Early last month while we dined at Kusina Selera in their restaurants' row, I got so intrigued with the noise and the music nearby. To my surprise, the Dancing Fountain had shown its wonderful lights as it went along with the music.

A Quick Visit to Ponce Suites Gallery Hotel

I came from a graveyard shift and because my friend was insistent at that time that we visit a gallery hotel she dreamed of visiting, I went with her despite not having enough sleep, and take note, I was still in my whites.

We commuted from work to Ponce Suites. We stopped right in front of Victoria Plaza in Bajada and we walked from there to the gallery hotel. Nearing the site, I was amazed with what I've discovered. Perfect statues created by the famous artist did surprise me. What more when I discovered what's inside the gallery hotel. The gallery hotel is surrounded by a collection of paintings and other forms of artworks done by the famous artist Kublai Millan. All of them are so amazing and I can't help but take pictures of it. After getting tired of taking a glimpse of his artworks, we had lunch in their cafe at an affordable price.We even noticed that their bar at the topmost floor is one great place to unwind with friends and we already had it in mind for our future gathering. ;)

I was with a bunch of friends sometime in April 2012 heading to Cagayan de Oro when I got sight of this picture. I must have been too lucky to have seated in front of the van because I got to capture such image. At first, I did wonder where the driver is located. Seeing it with my bare eyes, I've realized how difficult such position is, knowing that this must be how their lives are being lived in that place. I just couldn't imagine it being practiced here in the city. Having witnessed such, I've realized how courageous really these people are and I really appreciate them for that.

The month of August will always be a joyous month in Davao City because it is in this month that the Kadayawan celebration, the King of Festivals is being celebrated. Tourists from anywhere around the world and every Davaoeño is always excited with the line of activities being prepared by the City of Davao to the people. Among its highlights are the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and the Floral Float Parade which always dominate the city streets during this celebration.

This year's theme is 10 Tribes, One Vibe.

This year, I celebrated the Kadayawan Festival in a different manner. I didn't go to the usual midnight shopping sprees and night-outs with friends. I preferred celebrating it on the city streets witnessing the famous "Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and the Floral Float Parade" with the Davaoeños and the tourists. I happened to capture some of the pics and I am sharing all these with you.

E. Y's Tuna - Davao

With my being health-conscious in the recent days, I always suggest that we eat in a seafood restaurant every time when I am with my family to get rid of those meaty, high caloric recipes which I admit I can't sometimes resist.

Earlier in August of this year, my family decided to have dinner outside. When my dad asked me about it, I had a hard time thinking where to. However, when we're about to pave our way to Buhangin Road, I suddenly remembered E.Y's Tuna which I always get to pass on to every time I go to and from work. I've learned from a friend that it's a good seafood restaurant and the prices aren't expensive. Without much hesitation, I suggested right away that we have our dinner at E.Y's.

What's good thing about this seafood restaurant is that they have combo packages at very affordable prices that consist of a combination of different seafood and chicken recipes. We had Imbao soup that time which did satisfy my soup craving and we had Adobong Kangkong, a chicken recipe, pancit, and Grilled Tuna for only 800 pesos which is meant for 4-6 persons. Really had a great dining experience with my family that day.:D

To those seafood lovers out there, try E.Y's and tell the difference. :D

When one hears the word Razon's, what can one exactly think about?

Personally, when I hear the word Razon's, I always associate it with "halo-halo". Why? Simply it's because Razon's got the best halo-halo to offer.

I was first introduced to Razon's when I went to Manila sometime in 2007. Since I rarely go to Manila, a friend of mine led me to taste something not found in Davao, and she introduced me to Razon's. As a halo-halo fanatic, I exactly knew what I'd like to have in a halo-halo. At first glance, I was a bit disappointed because I used to see halo-halo with different colors in it but with Razon's I did spot a glassful of ice and milk. When I finally tasted their halo-halo, disappointment was replaced with happiness!:) I got back to Davao and would always dream about Razon's halo-halo whenever I ordered such in different refreshment parlors. When Razon's invaded Davao City, I was endowed with happiness coz at long last, they finally settled here!:) Now I've been to Razon's - Gaisano Mall for many times already (and still counting) just to taste the wonderful halo-halo they've got in store for their customers.

Razon's in Davao is located at the Gaisano Mall of Davao and in Damosa Gateway in Lanang.

Cafe Laguna is yet another great restaurant situated at the heart of Davao City specifically at the famous Abreeza Mall along Bajada. Great food, excellent customer service, good ambiance-- all of these are found when you dine at Cafe Laguna.

Just had my share of Cafe Laguna experience with friends and I should say it's a great dining experience for me.

Hukad is one of the few restaurants in the Philippines that I fell in love with. I was in Cebu when my paternal cousins gave me a dinner treat that I came to realize how great Hukad's recipes are to my palate. When Hukad finally opened a branch here in Davao City at Abreeza Mall, I did savor their specialties over and over again. Now, this restaurant has become a favorite venue for any celebrations in the family. I am also very proud to say that with their fast service and the kind of food they offer, this is the only restaurant being appreciated by my father among any other food centers here in the city.

Since I first got acquainted with Starbucks, I was already then aware of their planner which is a recycled one. In fact when I was in Manila, I wanted to really own one. I envied a certain dorm-mate of mine who had her Starbucks planner that time. When Starbucks invaded Davao City, specifically at Abreeza Mall, I told myself that I'd really own one in time. After a series of visits, I finally got my 2012 Starbucks Planner with the help of a great friend who gave me a Starbucks treat that very day. So proud to have own a limited edition planner from Starbucks!:D

There's always a moment when at the end of my graveyard shift (11pm-7am), I can't help but crave about McDonald's Hotcakes! Call me a hotcake addict but there's something in their hotcakes that makes me wanna go back and eat in there over and over again. The smell of the hotcakes, the syrup, their butter-- everything seems to be perfectly created for my palate!;)

Selecta's Magnum

Rumor has it that this Magnum is the topnotch craze in the country. At first I was too hesitant to believe. However, tweets have flooded in my Twitter timeline making it the most talk-about ice-cream craze in town aside from the fact that this has been endorsed by the country's elite group such as Liz Uy, Richard G,. With all that, I got convinced even if I knew it's way too expensive compared to the ordinary ice cream.

When I took my first bite, I can't help but take on another bite because of its yummy content. The Belgian chocolate really tastes so great.

For now I still am a Magnum fanatic and nothing can change that.

McDonald's McChicken

I was asleep after a graveyard shift when suddenly, I heard loud knocks on my door. It was my sister. Pissed off because she woke me up, I opened the door. Just as I was about to get mad for knocking too loud and getting a disturb sleep, she slipped a McDonald's bag, and I got so surprised!:) She gave me my all-time favorite McChicken Burger!:D

What I really loved about this is the chicken filling inside. The chicken tastes awesomely great! This has always been my favorite big burger ever since.

I slept back again with a full stomach that night.
