We have been busy over the winter getting ready – ordering seed and new plants. »»]]> It’s April 1st, and we’re about to embark on a new season. We have been busy over the winter getting ready – ordering seed and new plants. We will be planting over 70 varieties of squash this year, and 40 varieties of pumpkins, and of course lots of gourds!

We will be planting 4 acres of strawberries giving us a total of 12 acres for this year. Our rhubarb plantings will bring us to 2 acres!

You will see some changes in our store with new products and food choices. The family fun area has improvements and new things to do.

At the St. Jacobs Market, we now have 2 locations. Our current site will be bigger…so look for our new orange tents and our tall flag! The best news is that our staff is all returning, and we look forward to serving you with them…Steve, Kelsey, Regan, Lauren and Daniel. We also will be hiring some new staff for our added growth.

Our opening day will be the first day of strawberries; so stay tuned to the blog.

Our Bee Keeper has been busy getting the hives ready for this upcoming season. So in keeping with our motto – Where Fresh Food and Fun Meet – we really need these bees to be happy – so he is training them to buzz to the tune of Happy Days Are Here Again!!

We have 47 varities of squash.   Lots of new ones to try for eating or decorating; keeping in mind it’s 10 days to Thanksgiving.

 We just got in some of the most beautiful Mums ever –  including our customer’s favorite bushel basket arrangements.

We also now have homemade soups -Asparagus & Butternut squash. Take some home or try some in our expanded Snack Shack.

We have also expanded  our Fun Activity Area which includes a silo slide ( big hit) a rope maze, a straw mountain and straw jump. It’s open daily with reduced prices Monday thru Friday excluding Holiday Monday. The Corn Maze is open everyday. Also starting this weekend we will have live entertainment. This year we have some new farm photo props for family photos. The last new thing I want to tell you about is a new great pie pumpkin called Winter Luxury. Our daughter says it makes the BEST pie she has had and Pumpkin is her favorite. So -looking forward to your next visit.

About half of our squash & pumpkins are in from the fields. Wheat sheaves, corn stalks, straw bales and fall mums & decorations are all available. (we even currently have this weekend – fresh raspberries!)

The Corn Maze is up & open daily – taking approximately 20 minutes to 45. Depending how lost you may get!

The charge is $5 per person.

Our Activity area is being prepared and will open next weekend – rope maze, straw jump, straw mountain and the slide. Thie area will only be open on weekends, with a charge of $5 per person.
