Pat Barry is both a lucky and unlucky man. Lucky in that he scored both Fight of the Night and KO of the Night (the second by default because A. Johnson missed weight ) which totalled $120,000 and placed him third in salary standing. Unlucky in that apparently the man broke his thumb in the fight against Hardonk and will probably be out of action for a good three months.

With the bout between Lady Santos and Gina Carano gaining so much attention, Strikeforce has decided to invest in women's MMA. Proof of that was a scheduled bout between Erin Toughill and Marloes Coenen on the undercard of the Roger / Fedor event that would have determined the #1 contender for Cristiane Santos at the 145 lb. level. Unfortunately, Erin had to bow out due to medical issues but Strikeforce has made a great decision to pick up Roxanne Modafferi as a replacement on the same card to fight Coenen instead of scrapping the bout altogether.

UFC 104 Fighter Pay and Salaries

The California State Athletic Commission recently released the salary figures for each fighter at UFC 104 and, as you would guess, "The Dragon" and "Shogun" cleaned house. Cain Velazquez came in third on salary alone but with bonuses, Pat Barry almost made it past "Shogun".

Zuffa Willing to Sell 10% Stake in UFC

Dana White recently went on Bloomberg with an interesting admission, the Fertitta's and he are willing to part with a 10% stake in the UFC to a silent partner, for the right price of course. This shouldn't come as a shock to most people. The Fertitta's are businessmen first and foremost and realizing a giant payday (some think around 100 million) as payment for all their efforts is not unreasonable for such a small piece of the pie. The Fertitta's and Dana White have a co-ownership agreement currently split at 90-10. Video after the break.

Kimbo Factor Contributes to TUF Ratings Boom

The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 has yet to dip below 2.0 in household ratings this year which is absolutely amazing considering the venerable show only mildly flirted with that number over the last 9 seasons. The most recent episode, episode 5, leveled off at a 2.2 average rating and featured some of the best drama seen on the series since the third season of the show where Ortiz and Shamrock aired their differences on a weekly basis.

Frank Trigg Recovering From Knee Surgery
