Now after 13 albums and hundreds of concerts later, Mike continues to wow audiences with his dazzling stage performances. Whether he is appearing at Symphony Hall in Boston, an outdoor music festival in California, people across the country look forward to seeing their favorite fiddling storyteller and sharing the fun with friends.

On February 25th, Mike returns to the McGlohon Theater for the first performance of his 2012 “Crossin' Carolina” tour.

Cross's one-man, turbo-charged stage shows serve up a collection of humorous songs, sensitive ballads, Will Rogers-like tales, Delta blues, and fiery Celtic and Appalachian fiddle tunes, all while switching effortlessly from fiddle to six and twelve-string guitars. Mike's music is a unique blend of folk, blues, rock, country, and Irish, spiced with a good dose of wonderfully warped wit, which "crosses" all musical boundaries and defies categorization.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/NCUpcomingEvents/~4/3RAmAF9Ha7M" height="1" width="1"/>

Duplin Events Center Presents: Masters of Motown - Feb. 25, 2012

Masters of Motown is a celebration of the popular artists, music, and style from the '60s. With word of mouth long fueling Church’s sweat-soaked, sold-out crowds, Church surprised Music Row naysayers earlier this year when his third release, "Chief," topped the Billboard charts with over 145,000 albums sold in its first week—a true testament to the years of hard work by Church and his band on the road. "Chief" has since been certified Gold and produced the Top 15 “Homeboy” as well as current Top 15 and climbing single, “Drink In My Hand,” on which Church’s live show serves as the backdrop for the music video counterpart.

No other up-and-coming artist is quite as suitable for the raucous Church crowd as Big Machine Label Group's Brantley Gilbert. Gilbert, who has experienced recent radio success with his current No. 1 hit, “Country Must Be Country Wide,” has been building his fan base on the outskirts of “polished” country for years in the southeast. Similar to Church, Gilbert brings grit and attitude to the stage – and he should fit in just fine with the theme of The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour.

“We have been building our entire career for this tour. It is truly the culmination of a lot of blood, sweat and beer that has brought us to this point in our career," says Church. "I have always trusted our fans to deliver with their dedication and passion, they have always exceeded my expectations. I have never been more excited to begin a tour than this one. The band and I are committed to emptying the tank every night and delivering the best show we can."<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/NCUpcomingEvents/~4/DkljQ7ZrClY" height="1" width="1"/>

25th Annual North Carolina Potters Conference - Mar. 2, 2012 - Sat, 9 am - 5 pm; Sun, 1 - 5...

The NC Potters Conference features some of the best potters from around the world with lectures, demonstrations, and presentations.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/NCUpcomingEvents/~4/jsctcPkpz2I" height="1" width="1"/>

11th Annual Tommy Jarrell Festival - Feb. 24, 2012 - $5.00 dance/$10.00 concert

A celebration held in historic downtown Mount Airy to honor the life and music of famed and Smithsonian enshrined old-time fiddler, Thomas Jefferson Jarrell!

Initial hostility melts into a glowing romance. Their loving relationship initially bridges the gulf of silence between them, but discord soon develops as the girl becomes adamant about treatment of the deaf and rejects any hint of pity. In the end the chasm between the worlds of sounds and silence seems almost too great to cross, but love and compassion lead the way to reconciliation. Kiger began her love affair with Cline's music in 1963, when she first heard "Sweet Dreams," on the radio while traveling. After a turn in the production "A Closer Walk with Patsy," Kiger decided to stage her own tribute to the artist, whom, she has learned, has touched the lives of many who have listened to her music.

"The more I am involved in the tribute show, the more I realize how many people have stories about Patsy," Kiger said.

"People come and tell me what Patsy meant to them, and most of the time they have a personal experience with Patsy or someone in her family. It's really been an experience."

The Country Music Opry Band will open for Kiger, who is looking forward to bringing her show to the beautiful theater in Roanoke Rapids.

"It will be a big show," Kiger said. "I'm planning some different things, and I am very excited about playing in that theater."

Concert promoter Jim Babson, of Hilton Concerts, is encouraging all Cline fans to come and see Kiger.
"If you want to get the feel for the original Patsy Cline voice, this is a show you don't want to miss," Babson said.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/NCUpcomingEvents/~4/m3m0-ivDoDk" height="1" width="1"/>

March Music Madness - Mar. 3, 2012

There will be live music performing center stage all day on Saturday, March 3, at Becker Village Mall and a variety of vendors offering crafts and food from 10:00 am until 9:00pm.
