There are primal changes taking place within life, and they are farther-reaching than we dare to imagine. One thing is certain: the world as we know it is ending. Our drama of greed and materialism, our hubristic belief that we are the lords of the world, which we can exploit at will, has created a nightmare that is draining the very lifeblood of the planet. But in the midst of this dying dream, another dream is being born, one based upon the consciousness of oneness, the knowing that we are one living ecosystem, one global community. And within this dream of oneness are signs that the world is awakening.

Perhaps the prophecies of the year 2012 point to this possibility, a moment in cosmic time when, with an outpouring of energy, the world will awaken to its divine nature and throw off the debris of materialism. Those identified with the dying dream would experience this as a catalysm, a global disaster. But others might recognize it as what we have unknowingly been waiting for, a new Golden Age in which we can return to the simplicity and joy that belong to life in its essence, life as it really is—a time when we will no longer need to distract ourselves with our toys and addictions, because the simple wonder and joy of being alive will nourish us and our souls; when the song of the soul of the world will sing to us and to all of creation, and we will discover that the magic inherent in life is healing and beneficial, and that in its wisdom and oneness the world knows how to support itself and its inhabitants.

But what matters is how we respond to the present moment: whether we are prepared to be fully alive at this time of change. Are we prepared to help life to awaken, or are we too frightened of what we might lose, too caught up in the shadow lands of our attachments and collective beliefs? If we are free enough to welcome a future that honors the sacred nature of life and its transformative potential, we will discover we have a central part to play. Our light is a part of the light of the world awakening to its divine nature. Working with it, we can become co-creators of the next era. This is the choice we are being given: not to wait for the future but to help bring it into being.

CHOICE POINT 2012: BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER

Now we have the information, and the language, that may answer our question as to the significance of December 21, 2012. From the 8,000-year-old Hindu Vedas and the 5,000-year-old Hebrew calendar to the indigenous prophecies of Asia and the Americas, ancient traditions suggest that something really big will happen during our time in history. It is important to note that there is nothing in any of the prophecies that tells us unconditionally that the world itself will end on this date. What they do say is that the world as we have known it will enter a time of change on this date. How we respond to that change will define how we experience it and our lives in the next age of our existence.

What sets the Mayan prophecy apart from the general predictions of other cultures is that it has an expiration date that occurs in our lifetime. The last cycle of the intangible Mayan calendar corresponds to a series of tangible events, some of which are already happening today. Here is what we know for certain:

With these facts in mind, the December 21 solstice of 2012 appears to be a great cosmic window of opportunity. The opportunity is for us to benefit from our individual and collective experiences of the past 5,000 years of history, while releasing the destructive beliefs that have created disease in our bodies and limited our life span, led to the differences that have separated us, justified the great wars of history, and destroyed portions of our world. Such a possibility exists only when all of the parameters needed for such a change converge into a single window of time. The 2012 end-date appears to be just such a time.

New 2012 movie highlights Mayan trip to Boulder, local scientists

Few dates are surrounded with as much fear and awe as Dec. 21, 2012. Some warn that the date — the end of 5,125-year-long cycle on the Mayan calendar — will be marked by cataclysmic events, or worse, the end of the world.

But two Mayan elders who visited Boulder last summer along with Rigoberta Menchu Tum — a Nobel Laureate who was raised in the Guatemalan Highlands — said those kinds of apocalyptic predictions misrepresent the meaning of the end of the Mayan cycle, known as the 13th Baktun.

Carlos Barrios, Mayan elder and Ajq’ij (is a ceremonial priest and spiritual guide) of the Eagle Clan. Carlos initiated an investigation into the different Mayan calendars circulating. Carlos along with his brother Gerardo studied with many teachers and interviewed nearly 600 traditional Mayan elders to widen their scope of knowledge. Pole Shift and Pole Reversal in 2012

In 2012 the next polar reversal will take place on earth. This means that the North Pole will be changed into the South Pole. Scientifically this can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions. In my books I reveal the immense cataclysm that is going to torment the earth in the near future. It is presently assumed by most people and the general scientific world at large, that the rotation of the Earth is stable, however, as expounded in my previous works on this subject, this is not the case.
