PYTHON GUESSING GAME TUTORIAL

In this Python Game code tutorial we learn how to make a Python Game.
This is a Guessing game written in Python.
It uses random python package to generate a random number between 1 and 100.
The user has got 7 guesses to guess the number.
After the user enter the guess, it is checked whether it is higher or lower than the original number.
If the user cannot guess the number in 7 guesses a message is displayed and game is over.

randint(1,6) is the function used to generate random number between 1 and 6.
It can be used to generate random number within the range specified.
For example randint(1,100) will generate a random number between 1 and 100.

The data obtained by input function is character so it is converted to number form using int function.

VECTOR ADDITION
Two vectors can be added using + operator

EXAMPLE

VECTOR SUBSTRACTION
diff_vector <- vector1 - vector2

Vectors in R language

One dimensional arrays are referred as Vectors in R language.
They can be used to store numeric data, character data or logical data.
They are created using C() function which is combine function.
The elements in the vector are separated by commas.

Example
Numeric vector
num_vector <- c(1,3,6)

In this example num_vector is a vector which is used to hold three numeric values 1, 3, 6

Character Vector
cha_vector <- c('a','e','i','o','u')

String Vector
week_vector <- c("mon","tue","wed","thu","fri","sat","sun")

Vector Names

The elements of the vector can be assigned names as well.
Example
marks <- c(10,23,30,29)

This is a marks vector having marks for four students.
Names can be associated with the values using names() function.

names(marks) <- c("sam","tom","john",andy")

Names can be printed using the print function

If statement in R language

The flow of the program can be controlled using conditional flow statements
There are two conditional flow statements to help in decision making

R if statement

Syntax

if(test_expression){
….statement1
….
}
statement 2

Explanation

In this case the test expression controls the flow of control.
If the test expression is true the statement 1 will be executed
If test expression is false the statement 1 will not be executed and the control will pass to statement 2

Example

Lets take example where the total is greater than 70 or not

total <-80

if (total >70) {

print("yes")

}

print ("bye bye")

Output

yes

bye bye

This will give us output "yes" and "bye bye"

Example

total <-50

if (total >70) {

print("yes")

}

print ("bye bye")

output

bye bye

In this example the output will be "bye bye" . The statement written with if statement will only be executed if the test expression is true , in this case total greater than 70. Because total has a value of 50 which is less than 70 the statement in the if block was not executed.
