Katelyn’s First Plane Trip

As a Kindergarten graduation gift from Grammy, Katelyn got to take her first trip on an airplane. They flew to Charleston for the day and had a wonderful time. Katie loved the plane ride, but was quite nervous. After they landed, she was also able to get into the cockpit and wear the captain’s hat. They went to the children’s museum and ate lunch at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co. Katelyn learned that she loves shrimp! They ended the day taking a horse drawn carriage ride. By the time Grammy brought her home that night, she was exhausted!

Thanks for the wonderful memories, Grammy!

Three Car Links

We have all heard the general rule about staying a certain amount of car lengths away from the car in front of you while driving down the road. Nobody likes a car too close on their rear.

Jon saw this homemade bumper sticker. He got the best picture that he could of it while also keeping his distance.

Wow, three car links? I’m not sure the distance of a car link.

I looked up Georgia Code and it actually states:

The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.

I don’t see a thing about car links.

Makes you wonder how they passed the driver’s test to get their license.

Swim Lessons

Yesterday the girls started swim lessons. They are all doing well!

Katelyn already moves through the water and easily holds her breath and puts her face under, so she is learning to blow out the air and how to correctly move her arms and legs.

Emily finally got her face wet yesterday. They have to reach into the water and grab a ring. She would stretch her arm as far as it would go and turn her face up so it wouldn’t get wet. After several brave attempts, Emmy put her face in the water. She is working well with the instructors on the swim movements too.

Madison was so cute about putting her face in the water. You could tell she did not want to do it and way psyching herself up. Then she just went for it. When she got that ring and pulled her face back out of the water, you could see her beaming! She was so proud of herself. Mama was pretty proud too!

The lessons run for 2 weeks and I can’t wait to see how they are doing at the end of next week.
