Is Marijuana Good For My Voice?

Marijuana is not good for any singing voice, it heats and dehydrates your throat because you are breathing in hot dry air, with particles in it. It doesn't enhance your creativity either - it just gives you a pleasant delusion that you are being more creative. Yes, it's relaxing, but how laid back do you want to be performing?

The greats in all genre were great IN SPITE of their use of pot and other drugs not because of it......

I'm not in a band, but I have been learning a lot about music promotion recently. If you all are looking for more ideas on how to spread your music, read some of Ariel Hyatt's free ezine Sound Advice (http://soundadviceezine.com/). It covers an extensive amount of topics, but its main focus is promoting yourself online. It also comes with a free ebook "Musician's Guide to Social Media Success" that has lots of great tips. It's definitely worth reading.

That's good advice. We are fairly new to Twitter, but growing rapidly. Once we get over 1,000 followers, I'll feel like we accomplished a small milestone.

I often tweet in a similar manner. The URL I provide is to a forum post, and I tweet the question. But I've found so far in all cases, that I will receive replies, but not in the forums. The replies always seem to be back to my Twitter account.

Which gets me to thinking about forums again. Many say that it is merely a fad of Internet history. Others say, that it is there only for long-tail SEO benefit. I don't know.

I think forums are a good place for discussion but ultimately it will be completely reliant on how many people want to participate.

How about Aerosmith?

That's a hard one to match. Yeah, Joe Perry has some real solid riffs. I love his style. But you can't really imagine the band without Tyler, and finding someone who can sing like that is a diamond in the rough.

Not sure how much this link will help you, Rocye. Amazon does not support zShops any more that I'm aware of, but it appears that they have many of our previous listings here:

It may be a cached page, but it might also help you to find artists that were selling their CDs quicker than waiting for a response from them.

I have learned how to TAG music on Amason.
People can now search for music tagged with 'music forte' .

The more tags the more "findable" your music is.

Let me know what tags fit your music ie: jazz - blues- your name- your bands name.

You should explore Amazon, there are lots of ways you can increase your exposure.

I'm interested in getting feedback from singers and others who are using 'Sing & See' software for their vocal training - or any other equivalent software that gives visual feedback of pitch or spectrograms.

The price reflected in your sales report reflects the amount earned after the split, not the price point before. I confirmed that your songs were correctly priced and sold at 0.94. This should be the same for your album sales.

I remember when Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad was a big hit, and I enjoyed the song. But I have never really followed Meat Loaf.

I've wondered at times if he's too theatrical, but again, I'm not all that familiar with his music or style.

Very true. I would think that if you can't imagine it, you can't play it. But, I'm immediately stunted with not even being able to imagine playing an instrument.

I do enjoy telling people how to play from a mechanical, and commercial point of view.

There is a danger that because we spend so much time making music we miss out on living life. I tend to write in batches with a few months in between. When I dry up, I look to the newspapers for quirky stories or simply exagerate what is happening to me in real life.

In my part of the planet swearing is endemic so much so that I once heard my neighbour yell at her kid, "Don't Fxxxn swear!"
On another occaision a workmate manage to use the F word in nearly every conceivable grammatical concept in just one sentence. It concerned a broken down lawn-mower and the immenent arrival of the foreman.

"That f'n f'r is f'n f'd and when yon f'r f'n comes, I'm f'n f'd as f'n well. Oh f."
What is really disturbing is that I understood him perfectly.

If your music is a reflection of who you are then, if you swear in normal speech, swear in your music. If your music is a reflection of who you would like to be then leave out the swear words.

Only naughty little boys will be encouraged by swearing to buy a track.

Exclusive or non-exclusive

I registered few months ago and download a contract from Music Forte. It says that the musicians "grant an exclusive rigth to music forte" It says also that Music Forte pays 60% of the received amount from Distributors.
I did not agreed with those terms so did not "sign" the contract. No issue with Music Forte keeping 40% of the income generated from my music ? If they really make an effort to promote it, it could be ok, let say even great. I prefer people sharing some interests on the sales, it gives them an incentive to actually making an effort to promote it.
But why exclusive ? It recalls the situation prior to Internet and in fact why Internet have so much success on Artists side ? because it gives them the opportunity to remain free and not being trapped in a hole if their label have others priorities than promoting their music...

What states the current Musical Forte Digital Agreement ? What are the conditions for the artists ? Impossible to find those informations somewhere on this website ? Am I missing something ?

A teenage folk singer was attacked and killed by two coyotes in a national park in eastern Canada.

Taylor Mitchell, 19, was attacked while she was hiking alone in Cape Breton Highlands Park, Nova Scotia, when she was attacked by two of the animals on Tuesday. She died of her wounds on Wednesday.
