However with a few extra clicks, after the driver installation fails, you will be up & going in a few minutes.

Here is how you avoid a call to Tech Support.

• Download the 64 Bit version from GeSecurity.com

• Click on software downloads on the right side, then on the next page click on  64Bit Display

• When the file has downloaded double click the file to begin installation. (Remember do NOT plug the cradle in until prompted by the software.)

• During the install you will receive an error message  “DPInst.exe cannot be run on this operating system,” ignore the alert and finish the install. ……. DPInst.exe is the Supra installer program and does, in fact, run correctly on Windows 7.

• Now “right click” on “Computer” and choose “manage”.

• When the next window opens up click on “device manager”.

• You should see GE Supra DisplayKey USB Cradle with a yellow exclamation point next to it. This is telling you the driver is installed incorrectly.

• “Right click” on “GE Supra DisplayKey USB Cradle” and choose “update software driver”.

• When the update driver window pops up, click on “Browse My Computer for driver software.”
• You will then go to browse here>>  C:\Program Files (x86)\GE Security\dKeyUSBCradle\drivers
  
• After clicking “ok” when you browse to the “drivers folder“, click “next”. It will ask you if you are sure you want to use this driver, click “ok”.

That’s it! This is the exact method the GE Customer support will tell you to do.

You can now charge and reset your key so you can show those 25 homes this weekend

With all of the listing competition in Phoenix and the explosion of You Tube I thought I would give it a try.

My response over the past few months has been HUGE.

It seems that the average web surfer does not want to click around on some “Virtual Tour” but rather watch a short 2 to 4 minute video tour of the home.

I have read some articles on the net stating that “Virtual Tours” were dying, plus for starving agents like me, the cost is too high.

Shooting a quick video tour with a “Flip” Camcorder works great!

I have made up a system and I can shoot, edit and publish a tour in less than 1 hour..

I also make up a cool looking flyer, with the MLS info, a couple pics of the home and put a picture of the video player linked to my short tour and post to CraigsList, Backpage.com, etc.

I actually have agents call me and thank me as they can send this to their client to preview the home from the comfort of their home or office.

I don’t “brand” the video with my contact info, just a quick blurb at the end in the credits stating I made it.

I actually receive offers from folks that have not went to the home, just watched the tour.

I also receive a lot of calls from buyers WITHOUT agents who see me as some kind of “expert”. This has really helped my buyer side of the business grow.

I am shooting 3 homes later today and will post links to my CraigsList ads as a response to this reply for your previewing pleasure or critique

I am curious to hear any comments about this type of “Out-Of-The-Box” advertising.

I always start out with my same story about how I burned through real estate school, went home and “Googled” “what can a real estate agent do to make money” and Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) popped right up.

I explained that after a little research as to what BPOs were, I purchased an EBook from EBay explaining how to perform BPOs which also included a complete list of BPO / Asset management / REO companies and after 3 days of submitting online applications I was off to the races when six companies hired me within about seven days.

Well to make this post short, I decided after listening to all 25 of these people that I would choose 5, seriously motivated Real Estate Agents to help break into the world of BPOs and REO listings.

I decided to choose based on motivation only! Two 10+ Year Brokers, One 5 Year agent, and two less than 1 year, newbie type agents.

I asked them to just trust me, wow that’s a lot to ask considering I am not even a two year agent yet, and if they followed what I told them to do, and not give up, that they would start to see the same type of successes I was now starting to see.

I contacted all five of these people within the past month or so, and they all thanked me for making them put their noses to the grindstone and staying motivated, through these tough times of “Everybody is an REO agent” and they are starting to see success!

This blog I have started will give you insight, tips & tricks, but mostly it will make you decide if this side of the industry is right for you or not.

As my ‘about page’ states, I am a Realtor in Phoenix, AZ and the real estate community has been so good to me that I feel compelled to pay back by offering my knowledge, experience and opinions about not only BPOs (Broker’s Price Opinion) but also how to be a Super REO Agent.

A little about me:
I was a custom home builder up until July 2007 when the investors I was building for suddenly cancelled the last two homes we were getting ready to start and also placed immense pressure on me to wrap up the two homes we were currently finishing.  7/28/2007 was my last day as a builder. The real estate market had suddenly disappeared and everybody was panicking.

I called my real estate agent brother and he told me there might be some good possibilities for me if I went and procured my RE license. I had such a strong background in home construction and was out of work, it seemed the logical choice at the time. I went to the two week crash course at a local real estate licensing school and on 9/5/2007 I had my license.

I went home and ‘Googled’ – “what can a real estate agent do to make some money”. The word BPO popped up with a tagline that said $45 to $65 each. I did a little research and found out that BPO stood for “Broker’s Price Opinion” which is a real estate agents’ opinion of what a home might sell for in a certain area at this time. Homes in pre-foreclosure and that have been foreclosed are not appraised by the bank to determine value but rather they order a BPO to determine value and the buyer of the home will get an appraisal before they buy.

I then realized that I could do 100 BPOs a month and make enough money to feed the family and avoid foreclosure myself. I purchased a BPO eBook from Ebay which explained how to perform a BPO and also included a list of 200+ companies that might hire an enterprising real estate agent

Well three solid days of submitting applications online is what it took and four days later I was hired by two
companies and started doing BPOs. Then about thirty days later I received a call from an asset management company asking me if I was interested in listing a home. List a home? Ohhh you want me to sell a bank owned home (REO). I almost passed out from excitement. Thus began my career as a real, real estate agent and I have never looked back.

I now run across so many Realtors that did not take the time to analyze what the market was doing and adjust their marketing and beliefs to compensate for our current upside down real estate market and now they are scrambling to work for the asset companies that are managing all of the REOs. I guess my despiration that drove this RE newbie to Google that day really paid off as I did not know the process of how the whole BPO, REO, asset company chain worked.

Being a real estate agent is a whole new world for me. RE agents are a whole different breed compared to the blue collar drunks I was used to being around on job sites. It is VERY interesting.

Well anyways I am going to lay out exactly what I do, how I do it so fast,  and the systems I have created not only for BPOs but also handling 15+  REO listings all by myself.
