Carving

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Mon, 02 Nov 2026 16:37:00 +0000

The age old question we must ask,

Is what to carve for our pumpkin's mask.

I chose stars for eyes,

The mouth in surprise.

This is a fun once a year task.

Hot Sauce!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sun, 01 Nov 2026 16:32:54 +0000

I used all the peppers I got,

'Cause I don't want them to freeze and rot.

Though it looks like moss,

It's really hot sauce.

I'm not sure if it's good or not.

I Voted!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Mon, 26 Oct 2026 00:37:54 +0000

Here's an important thing you should note.
Make sure that you get out and vote.
We'll elect those who can,
Follow a decent plan.
It's the best fascist antidote.

Calzone

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Thu, 22 Oct 2026 15:00:00 +0000

I wouldn't say it's a big milestone,
But I made these four all on my own.
I made them from scratch,
They do almost match.
I really like making calzone.

A Critic

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Thu, 22 Oct 2026 01:07:00 +0000

We walked by this interesting park,
Our dog went to pee, not to bark.
A statement was made,
I thought it well played.
Our dog choose here to make his mark.

Whale Cove

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Tue, 20 Oct 2026 15:00:00 +0000

To Rocky Creek Viewpoint we drove.
Then we walked through the dense coastal grove.
A path comes to this spot,
Which was well worth this shot.
It's a secluded look at Whale Cove.

October?

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Mon, 19 Oct 2026 15:00:00 +0000

The weather has been really warm.
There's been sunshine instead of a storm.
Today, I didn't teach,
I'm here at the beach,
Soon, I think this will be the norm.

Beach Trip

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 15:00:00 +0000

We're replacing our old kitchen floor,
So we took off to visit the shore.
We didn't have bikes
So we took some short hikes.
Only 2 day, but I wanted more.

Glow Up

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 00:52:59 +0000

We walked in our town's fun 5K.
It begins when the sun goes away.
We wear things that glow,
So they way will show.
Here our walking sticks I'll display.

Leaves

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sat, 10 Oct 2026 21:27:43 +0000

We've picked the wrong word to call leaves.
Raking is one of my pet peeves.
They don't go away,
They just fall and lay.
In the fall they are big time thieves.

Peak Shadow

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:53:00 +0000

At Mary's Peak, we did dilly dally,
While we enjoyed this view of the valley.
The sky's a bit hazy,
But the view is still crazy.
Some big mountains we could still tally.

Glamor shot

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Thu, 08 Oct 2026 00:50:00 +0000

We take too many pics of our dog.
But he's not a big attention hog.
It takes a small trick,
Before we can click.
Here he is being a photo mog.

Sunset

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Wed, 07 Oct 2026 00:48:13 +0000

A good view we went to go seek,
It's a good way to end our week.
We took a short hike,
To a place that we like.
Here's the sunset atop Mary's Peak.

Foot Doctor

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sat, 03 Oct 2026 03:11:58 +0000

I went to see someone who knows,
About how to fix my feet and toes.
I got some Xrays,
So the doc could appraise.
This getting older thing sure blows.

Full Moon

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Thu, 01 Oct 2026 15:00:00 +0000

I tried to capture this full moon
With the cross in the front was a boon.
But my shutter speed,
Was not quite what I need.
It makes the white roof look too maroon.

Finally!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Wed, 30 Sep 2026 15:30:00 +0000

For years I've enjoyed this fine view.
But I never stopped, always drove through.
But that changed today,
I pulled over, hurray.
Now you can enjoy this sight too.

Dominion

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Wed, 30 Sep 2026 00:26:38 +0000

We just played this really cool game.
Where strategic cards you must claim
It's not too high tech,
You just build up a deck.
Dominion is its point, and name.

Senior Discount?

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 12:30:48 +0000

I'm feeling conflicted on account,
Of being given a senior discount.
I close to that age,
So I won't feign outrage.
The good news is I pay less amount.

Golden Cone

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 01:52:57 +0000

This isn't meant to be some snark,
But here's a special place you can park.
Of course you must pay,
So your car can stay.
I think this idea's a lark.

BaWheee!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Tue, 22 Sep 2026 03:36:48 +0000

From my old band day, this I do miss.
On measure 25 there's a gliss.
My squadmates and me,
Just called it, "Ba Weee."
When I play I hope it's not amiss.

We're Bach!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sun, 20 Sep 2026 15:24:38 +0000

I know this composer's not Bach.
But this music's classical, not rock
Rehearsals are starting,
My lips are smarting.
I'll have to relearn how to squawk.

New Car!

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Sat, 19 Sep 2026 03:32:57 +0000

It took us some time to decide,
But we went out and bought a new ride.
It's just 2 years old,
Which saved us some gold.
It's really comfortable inside.

Raining

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Thu, 17 Sep 2026 14:52:00 +0000

Last night it just started to pour.
It's been dry to we did need some more.
But it put on a show,
Gutters did overflow.
It was loud, and hard to ignore.

Academ's Fury

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Wed, 16 Sep 2026 14:46:00 +0000

Last night I finished this good book.
It has a fun fantasy hook.
Magic works a ton,
But this one kid has none.
This series is worth a good look.

Blue Jay

noreply@blogger.com (Dean Deters) — Tue, 15 Sep 2026 14:42:00 +0000

A bird got stuck in our sunroom.
It was scared, had a feeling of doom.
Our dog didn't help,
He bark his high pitched yelp.
Finally, I pushed it out with a broom.
