It’s pretty common knowledge that when a fast food chain has a new burger they don’t just release it nation wide and cross their fingers that it will be a hit. After it goes through extensive taste testing in their own privet kitchens the food the burger is then sent out to a “test market.”

A test market is when they pick a couple areas of the country and sell the burger exclusively in those areas. Then based on the sells they decide if it’s worth it to release it nation wide.

All chain restaurants do this and it’s a good way to test the waters before jumping in but I do have a slight problem with it. It used to be that if some small town in California got to test a special burger I wouldn’t find out about it until it was given the go a head and released across the country and if the burger failed I would never know it even existed but the internet has changed all that.

Thanks to the internet I now know that Wendy’s is testing out a couple new burgers they are calling their “Black Label” burgers. The “Santa Fe” burger is a quarter-pounder with pepper-jack cheese and guacamole and the “Bacon Portobello” is a quarter-pounder with mushrooms, muenster cheese, bacon, tomato, and pepper sauce. Those sound freaking amazing and I would love to sink my teeth into them but unfortunately they are only available in Columbus, Ohio and Wichita, Kansas.

So now I have to sit around and hope all those Columbus and Wichita people buy enough of those burgers so I can get a shot at eating them. I can’t stand having the fate of my dinner in the hands of people I’ve never met. Screw this I’m not going to sit idly by while others make poor combo selections and possible kill the “Black Label” burgers before they even have a chance to live. Columbus is only 3 and half hours from my house. If anyone needs me I’ll be in my car, driving.

This is a guest blog post by Adam Poch, the Heavy Metal Teddy Bear, on CBS’ Big Brother Season 13.

If you watched CBS’ Big Brother 13 over the summer of 2011, you saw me wearing Bacon T-shirts and screaming about the best food god ever created. To say I love Bacon would be an understatement! For the last 3 years, the last Saturday in January, la venue in NYC has hosted the Beer, Bourbon, & BBQ Festival. Bars & restaurants from NYC and all over the east coast as well as beer & bourbon distributors fill up the exhibit hall giving people lucky enough to get tickets tastes of the best they have to offer. There are 2 sessions, but every year I go to the early one nicknamed “THE BACON BASH”

As soon as you walk in, you get a sampling glass, and you proceed into the main hall. Standing right inside are the Daisy Dukes & Boots Girls handing you strips of crispy bacon! This is a great way to start any Saturday afternoon, hot chicks giving you bacon!! I am only going to recap the foods I ate – because there were soooo many different bourbons and beers I tasted, but I wanted to give a shout out to Cabin Fever Spirits for having the best thing I have never tasted before today. They make a Maple Whiskey that is just out of this world. Its so good that I want to make a plate of French Toast & Bacon and pour all over the top!

The following are just some of the highlights from my food consumption. Needless to say I may have forgotten a couple places due to the amount of Beer & Bourbon I was consuming throughout the afternoon.

Blacksauce Kitchen from Baltimore – Sweet Potato Bacon Pudding

This tasty little treat would be a great appetizer or side dish. Cut into little squares, and topped with a maple butter shows why the combination salty & sweet work so well together.

Idle Hands Bar, Billy Hurricanes & That Burger – Totchos

Idle Hands Bar & Billy Hurricanes in NYC have teamed up with That Burger to create a dish they call Totchos. Basically, it is a mashup of tater tots, bacon, ground beef, cheese, and jalapenos. It may not have been pretty on the eyes – but it makes your tongue come to life. These are going to be a new addition to their menu – and every Tuesday at Billy H’s & Idle Hands will be known as Totcho Tuesday.

Baconery – Bacon Desserts

Baconery, a new online only (for now) business that makes bacon desserts. Their menu of bacon muffins, bacon banana bread, bacon brownies, bacon cookies, and chocolate covered bacon will make you re-think dessert for years to come. I filmed a little ditty called Bakin’ with Bacon a couple months back ( see video here ) and have stayed in touch with them, even getting them hooked up with the promoters for this event. They had a table of their treats including Bacon Brownies & Cookies – but I guess they did not realize how many hungry mouths were coming in – because after a little more than an hour – they were all out. It’s a good thing I saw them early.

Hill Country BBQ – NYC Beef Brisket w/Sweet Potato Bourbon Mash

No BBQ is complete without some brisket – and Hill Country stepped it up and had some of the most tender slabs of meat. Adding a dollop of some sweet potato bourbon mash & a squirt of their tangy sauce, I could not help myself by mixing it all together. My girlfriend Fara makes one hell of a brisket – but I need her to figure out how to make that mash as well.

Little Red Pig Championship BBQ & Catering – Marshville, NC 704-624-2051

While waiting on line to get in – the people from Little Red Pig were outside smoking and grilling up whole pigs. When they brought them inside – they cut it open and had a sign at their station that read “Pull My Pork”. Once you finally got to the front of the line – they had someone just reaching their hand inside the pig and grabbing a handful of pork. The only negative thing I have to say is I wish they let us reach in there and rip out the meat ourselves, but I understand why they would not let us do it. But still CMON!!! I did see a guy walking around later in the day gnawing on a pigs leg.

Johnny Utah’s – Bacon wrapped Jalapenos stuffed w/shrimp & Spare Ribs

I am not a seafood guy – so I only sampled the spare ribs, but my girlfriend was blown away by how amazing the Bacon wrapped jalapeno’s stuffed with shrimp was. After I had a few more cocktails, I said – “ya know what, I should go try that.” Sadly by the time I got back, they were all gone! I guess everyone loved these as much as my girlfriend did.

Bourbon Street Bar & Grille – Bourbon Bacon Brownie, Alligator in a Blanket & 3 Little Pigs Nachos

The line for this booth was so long, so I decided to try a couple other things first and go back later. That was a mistake. By the time I got back to the table – I saw the last of the Alligator in a Blanket being handed to someone else. Once again, you snooze you lose. Damn! The description on their website of this makes my mouth water – Alligator sausage stuffed with apple, cheddar & bacon wrapped in a flaky pastry with honey mustard. I am still shaking my head, but I will have to hit up their midtown location someday soon. I did however get to taste their brownie, which was OK, but the star of the show (since I missed the Gator) was their 3 Little Pigs Nachos. They took a couple of tortilla chips and covered them with a mashup of Andouille Sausage, Pulled Pork, and yes… BACON! Now I know why the Big Bad Wolf was trying to get in their houses!!!

Kloby’s Smokehouse – St. Louis Ribs & Pulled Pork Sliders

Every year Kloby’s has been at this event (as well as other events I have been to) so I am a big fan of theirs. Always delicious and always plenty of food to go around. Besides these tastings, they also had a booth where you could buy food. I saw a few people walking around with Mason Jars full of food. I finally figured out it was the Jar-B-Que from Kloby’s. It is layers of Pulled Pork, Baked Beans, and Coleslaw.

Lucky 777 Chili Company – Gourmet Pork Chili

The 777 stands for 7 porks, 7 sauces, 7 spices. I dare you to find a better chili! Sweet & spicy, I licked the little plastic cup clean. (And then I went back for seconds). I saw them tweet yesterday: “3o gallons of chili, 3000 served in 4 hrs at #BeerBourbonBbqNYC.. cause that’s how we roll.” Damn, 30 gallons of chili?!?!?

Royal Rib House & Calvin’s Barbecue Sauce – Pulled Pork & Spare Ribs

I think they got to the event a little late – because when I first waled past their table it was empty (well, except the empty plates from their neighbors Kloby’s) – but later on I was walking past and saw them open & handing out ribs. I did not see any pulled pork, so not sure if they ran out or just didnt have any. Anyway – the rib I got was unbelievable good. The meat was falling off the bone and the sauce was just so tangy!!!

I am sad that this event only comes to NYC once a year – but the good thing for everyone reading, they do this event at several cities on the East Coast – so go to their website and see when & where they will be. If not – you know where to find me on the last Saturday of January every year!!!

Like every other idea we come up with we were too lazy to actually test it out and once again we’ve been beaten to the punch.

The Detroit Free Press now has a bacon/Nutella recipe on their website but this one takes a bit further by adding some chili powder and black pepper to give it an awesome kick.

If you have any recipes that combine the amazingness of bacon with the strangely addictive taste of Nutella let us know in the comments below.

For anyone that’s actually seen her show this comes as no surprise. Paula is known for making good old fashion home cooking and that means lots of butter, red meats, and grease. In other words it means she makes food people actually want to eat.

A lot of people are contributing her diabetes to the food she cooks but I don’t think that’s very fair. Sure she featured The Lady’s Brunch burger on her show, a burger topped with egg and bacon served between two glazed doughnuts and her restaurant “Lady and Sons” in Savanna Georgia has an all you can eat buffet featuring fried chicken, gravy, and butter soaked collared greens but even Paula herself knows her food isn’t healthy.

Paula never once made the claim that her food was healthy and actually says that people need to enjoy her creations in moderation. Just because her show “Paula’s Best Dishes” is on almost everyday doesn’t mean you should eat what she’s cooking every day. It’s called self control.

Type 2 Diabetes isn’t caused from any one type of food. If that was the case a person could just cut out that food and be good to go. One of the biggest contributing factors in getting “the sugars” is being overweight and yes a case could be made that Paula Dean style food makes people over weight but once again that’s only if you let it.

Paula has said that she will not change the way she cooks and I for one applaud her for that. Every time I turn around I see more and more of the delicious food I grew up with disappearing. It’s like if something isn’t the healthiest choice it should be thrown away and never aloud to be eaten.

No one is saying BBQ bacon cheese burgers are healthy but that doesn’t mean you can’t have one every once and awhile. It all comes down personal responsibility. Paula Deen is a good chef and she understands what people love when it comes to food so don’t just abandon her because her recipes are unhealthy instead use her recipes to treat yourself once a week or so.

In fact most companies seem proud to tell you what type of wood they use in their smoking process.

Wendy’s went all out to let you know their bacon was Apple Wood smoked, Dunkin Donuts proudly said in their commercials that their bacon was smoked with Cherry Wood, and even though Denny’s is using the same bacon they always have they started letting people know that it was Hickory Smoked but some companies just don’t’ want us to know what type of wood they use.

I’m not just picking on Burger King; long time bacon producer Oscar Mayer also lists their bacon as being “Hardwood Smoked.” So that got me thinking, what exactly is Hardwood? (and stop laughing right now or you’ll be excused from the class.) According to the Wikipedia entry for “wood” all wood from the dicotyledons family are considered hardwood. That basically means if it has broad leaves and flowers like Oak it’s a hardwood. So when a company says it uses hardwood that means it could be using one of almost 100 different woods or a combination of them.

There are reasons why a company might choose to go with a lesser known wood or a mixture of different woods. It might be they fill they get the best flavor from those woods or maybe it is a cost thing where they don’t want to inject smoke flavoring but it’s not cost affective to use Apple Wood.

Whatever the reason is they need to stop advertising it as “Hardwood Smoked.” When you have restaurants gloating about the wood they use and then you see some company slap Hardwood on their label it makes them seem like they’re just trying to jump on the band wagon without improving their bacon.

If you don’t want to tell us what wood you use because it’s a cheaper wood or because you use a mixture and “hickory/apple/cherry/oak smoked” wont fit on the label, that’s fine. Just leave it off. Trust me if you make a quality product just labeling it as bacon is enough for people to buy it

I was bouncing around the internet and I came across this blog called Mancave Daily where he put up a somewhat troubling post called “5 Foods Even Bacon Can’t Make Better.” He starts off by saying he is tired of all the bacon lust out there today and that even though bacon is delicious it’s not the most wonderful food in the world. What the F?

How could a blog called Mancave Daily not fall down and worship the one food God created specifically with Man in mind, bacon! There is a reason why people “lust” for bacon as he puts it, because there has never been a more perfect food in the history of mankind. People don’t just like bacon, they live for it.

Now on to his claims. Here at Mr. Baconpants we have tried to come up with a food that bacon doesn’t go with and we just can’t think of any but Mancave man has come up with a list of 5 that include, SPAM, Ham, Rice Cakes, Liver, and Chocolate Chip Cookies. I’m going to talk a little about each one of these but first let me point out the SPAM is short for Shoulder Pork Ham so I’m going to count ham and SPAM as one item and officially change his post to, “4 Foods Even Bacon Can’t Make Better.”

4. SPAM/Ham

His augment for this is that SPAM’s disgusting flavor will drown out the bacon and Ham doesn’t work because “Adding a part of the pig to another part of the pig actually does nothing to improve either” and that it would be “pork overkill.”

Well guess what SPAM and bacon do go together. In fact they go together so well that the good people at SPAM saved us some time by combining the two for us.

The argument that pig doesn’t go with pig is about as crazy as saying Wendy’s French fires don’t go with a Frosty. Check out this link for a recipe for a ham and bacon sandwich. (Yes I said “recipe”, I guess some people can’t even make a sandwich without directions.) Or ask anyone that’s ever had bacon wrapped pork tenderloin if pig goes with pig.

3. Rice Cakes

I do agree with him that rice cakes are like flavorless pieces of insulation but what better place to show off the amazing flavor of bacon than on a blank canvas like Rice Cakes. You could wrap the cakes in bacon then bake them on low heat allowing the grease to be soaked up by the dry rice there for infusing it with bacon flavor. Sure it might over power the flavor of the rice cake but as I stated before Rice Cakes are flavorless so adding flavor would make them better.

2. Liver

I almost spit my Bacon Bloody Marry all over my laptop when I saw this one. I spent nights lying awake before family events wondering if my wife’s aunt was going to make her very addictive bacon wrapped chicken livers. They are so good I can’t eat just one.

Reading a little further into his post I realized the reason why he thinks bacon doesn’t go with liver is because he hates liver. There is no more to his argument than that. Look there’s one or two foods in this word that I don’t like but I can still put my bias aside for two seconds to understand why someone might enjoy it. Just because you don’t like the flavor of Liver doesn’t mean everyone hates it.

1. Chocolate Chip Cookies

This one is the biggest joke of them all. He doesn’t even give an argument. All he says is to keep your bacon away from his cookies. His closed mind just sees the words cookie and bacon and he goes running for the hills like a caveman seeing fire for the first time. I feel kind of sorry for people that are so stuck in their ways they won’t even try something like bacon in cookies. They will never know the joy of sweet and savory together. Seriously dude just try them here’s a recipe. If you don’t like them that’s fine just spit them out but at least try them.

So there were 4 foods that supposedly bacon can’t make better and I just showed you the opposite and didn’t even break a sweat. I would like a challenge, so if you think you know a food that bacon can’t improve then comment below so I can tell you how you’re wrong.

You all know I love bacon but you might not know that I also love egg rolls. Chef Marsha Bradley has combined the two and given them a southern kick.

These egg rolls are sure to be a hit at any tailgating or party event and this recipe makes about 3 dozen of them. That’s enough egg rolls for your whole party or for my lunch. Check out recipe and video to see how it’s done.

Man, every time I turn around another Bacon Fest is popping up. Pretty soon there’s going to be a Bacon Event every month of the year. Not that I’m complaining. I just wish I could afford the air fair to check them all out.

The newest Fest is based in Sacramento. Local musician Brain Guido and Managing Editor for Sacramento News & Review have teamed up with five local restaurants for the first ever Sacramento Bacon Fest but unlike most Bacon Fests this one seems to be more of a weekend filled with bacon activities then just one day of pork belly love.

After seeing the success of the Blue Ribbon Bacon Fest in Des Moines and the Chicago Bacon Fest , Guido thought, why not Sacramento.

The event runs from January 20 through the 22nd with each day having a bacon inspired events at local restaurants.

Jan 20th -is Kevin Bacon Tribute Night at Luigi’s Slice where you can enjoy a special Bacon Supreme Pizza while local bands entertain your ears with covers of songs from Kevin Bacon movies.

Jan 21st -You can get your day started with a Bacon inspired Breakfast/Brunch at Magpie Caterers Market and Café but get there early because it’s only open from 7:30am until the food is gone.

Jan 21st -Starting at 4pm Pangaea Two Brews Café is having “Bacon in Beers.” Dinners will get a four item bacon inspired menu with each item being paired with a beer. Also they will be serving beer with bacon in the glass.

Jan 22nd -Brunch at The Golden Bear. It starts at 10am and will have many bacon dishes including a couple bacon cocktails for those that like to get an early start on the partying.

Jan 22nd -End the Fest with a Chef Competition at Mulvaney’s B&L Pig Next Door. Local celebrities will judge bacon-inspired meals created by local chefs and small bacon plates and wine will be served.

The Bacon Fests I’m more used to consist of one day where people over indulge on various bacon dishes all while washing them down with a good beer. Although I like the concept of making the Fest an entire weekend and highlighting local restaurants I would really like to see an all day event like Blue Ribbon Bacon Fest does. But hey it’s their first year so it makes sense to start out small and I’m sure everyone will have a great time. Then next year they can expand and make it even better.

For more information click here and if anyone out there is in the Sacramento area and is going to the Fest, feel free to send sent us some pictures and video so we can let the rest of the world see what Sacramento has to offer.

If you don’t know what SOPA or PIPA is you’re in luck. Just browse the internet and I am sure you will find one of you favorite websites blacked out today. If this is the only site you goto then I guess it’s my job to inform you. The following is from Wikipedia:

What are SOPA and PIPA?
SOPA and PIPA represent two bills in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate respectively. SOPA is short for the “Stop Online Piracy Act,” and PIPA is an acronym for the “Protect IP Act.” (“IP” stands for “intellectual property.”) In short, these bills are efforts to stop copyright infringement committed by foreign web sites, but, in our opinion, they do so in a way that actually infringes free expression while harming the Internet. Detailed information about these bills can be found in the Stop Online Piracy Act and PROTECT IP Act articles on Wikipedia, which are available during the blackout.

I know what some of you are thinking. “You are a content creator. Wouldn’t something that helps you protect your copyright help you?”

The answer is no, if it comes with more government regulation, ambiguous laws, and is a threat to the very service I distribute my content on. We do not need the government to police the internet, that is the job of the people who have the copyrights. Also piracy would stop if the movie and recorded industries would just adapt and get with the times.

They need to realize the era of making tons more money selling tangible goods is over. We no longer need DVDs or CDs. Also, since we can now get great content for free or for a very low-cost. We will no longer pay top dollar for their garbage content. If they want to survive in a world with a free and open internet they only need to create killer content. Then use the current copyright laws to protect it.

Lastly, you may think its a stretch to say the if this bill passes that they will take our bacon but think about that for a second. If we can’t stand up and fight to protect the very thing that lets us share our love of bacon with the world. What makes you think we would standup and fight for our bacon.

Call, Write, and Scream at your Representatives and Senators and tell them you do not support this bill.

Two local chefs will enter into the kitchen stadium to prove who is the true master of the swine in “Battle Bacon!”

Robert Deni from Cucina Toscanna and Tom Call from Fresco Italian Café will have to show their skill be creating three different dishes using glorious pork belly. At first that doesn’t seem too hard, I can think of twenty different dishes right off the top of my head but since the popularity of bacon has skyrocketed thanks to the internet it gets harder and harder to make a truly original dish.

To win this they are going to have to make something new that will blow away the bacon fanatics because unlike other kitchen battles their food isn’t just going to be judged by some up tight food critics the audience also gets a voice. Audience members will taste the dishes and vote for their favorite.

It all takes place on Tuesday, Jan 31st from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the Ferguson Showrooms in Salt Lake City. Tickets are $39 a person and can be purchased at chefwar.com

If anyone out there gets a chance to go please snaps some photos and videos for us and if your able to sneak out some of the samples and send them our way.

The Jan 6th episode of NPR’s Podcast Planet Money had a very interesting topic, Lard. They talked about how everyone used pig fat for cooking a hundred years ago but now it’s almost no where to be found.

Most people think the whole reason lard cooking went away is because it’s unhealthy for you but that’s really only half of the reason. It turns out it was a combination of the back lash from the 1906 novel “The Jungle” that exposed the horror stories of the meat processing world and Capitalism.

Although “The Jungle” is fiction it was very well researched and showed some of the very unsanitary and dangerous conditions in the world of animal products. After it was released people demanded better care be taken in the preparation of their food and people even started to shy away from mass produced meats. Slaughter houses today might not be perfect but there a heck of a lot better than 100 years ago.

Then you have the company that produced the lard alternative Crisco, Procter & Gamble. They weren’t always in the business of producing healthier ways of making fried chicken. They were in the candle business, and business was good. Everyone from the richest tycoon to the poorest steel worker needed candles. It was the only way a person could do anything after the sun went down besides sleep.

But then something happened that changed the world, the light bulb. The light bulb was on the fast track of replacing the need for candles in America and that meant Procter & Gamble had to reassess their business. The candles they produced were make out of cotton oil and with not as many candles needed that gave them a cotton oil surplus.

What did they do with that extra oil; they got a German scientist to figure out a way for people to eat it. By using the process of Hydrogenation they turned the now useless cotton oil into tubs of white paste that resembled lard and called it Crisco. Then it was as simple as starting a mass advertising campaign to convince the American people Crisco was better than lard and the rest is history.

Is Crisco really better for you than lard? It’s a hard question to answer because most of us aren’t doctors or food scientists so we just have to listen to what people tell us and make up our own minds. There are people on both sides of this issue and both make some interesting points but I think it’s safe to assume no matter what side of the fence you fall on we can all agree that eating foods fired in any type of oil is something we should do in moderation.

Have you ever sat down at your local dinner starring at your bacon cheese burger and milkshake dreading the physically draining task of picking up the burger, taking a bite, setting it down, then picking up the milk shake, slurping the straw, and then setting it down only to have to do it all over again. If only there was a better way?

Well thanks to San Antonio based restaurant “Fatty’s Burgers & More” no longer do you have to be a slave to normal eating procedures. They have introduced what they call the “Ice Cream Cheeseburger” and it is exactly what it sounds like. A big old meat patty covered in cheese and bacon then topped with a scoop of fried ice cream. They say it tastes like taking a swig of a milk shake right after a bite of a cheeseburger.

But Fatty’s doesn’t stop there they also have a Pancake Burger, Fried Egg Burger, BBQ Burger, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Burger. I think this is a sign that the Baconpants crew needs to take a much needed road trip.

If you live in the San Antonio area get your butt to Fatty’s and let us know how it is.

Read more about it here.

For a very limited time IHOP is allowing you to enjoy one of my favorite past times, combining food. Ever since I was a child I’ve been mesmerized by the concept of mixing foods. And yes I was the kid in high school that would put anything from mashed potatoes to peanut butter crackers on a bologna hoagie then scarf it down. Some thought I did it for the attention but I really did it for the taste. I enjoy peanut butter and jelly in the same jar, the KFC Bacon Bowl, and any sandwich that comes decked out with French fries, onion rings, coleslaw, and an egg. So anytime I hear a restaurant is experimenting in the ancient art of food combo I’m there.

From now until February 19th IHOP is taking things you would normally place apart from each other on a plate and stacking them together. They call this tower of breakfast yum yums the Hash Brown Stacks and they include hash brown, and eggs with a variety of toppings. There are four different Stack options but the only one I really care about is the one with bacon so lets focus on that one. It starts with the egg/hash brown base then cheddar cheese and bacon is added(and if I was the chef it would also include some BBQ sauce and a dollop of sour cream. Just throwing that out there IHOP.)

And if the power of breakfast stacked is too powerful for your heart, don’t worry it comes with a side of fruit. But if you’re a real man the fruit can easily be replaced with two amazing pancakes swimming in a sea of butter and syrup. All for only $5.99. The other flavors are, Spinach and Mushroom, Ham and Swiss, and for all those trying to stick to a New Year’s resolution the Simple and Fit Spinach and Mushroom.

The only real bad thing I can find about it, it’s it god awful commercial with dancing baggage handlers.

To make is simple for you to skip the non bacon posts (why would you do something like that) the first word of the titles will tell you the general topic. This one is about an iPhone game, so if you have an iPhone read on.

Very few things (other than bacon) would inspire me to jump on my bacon blog to immediately tell you about it. Well today I came across an iPhone game that did just that. It’s called Hero Academy and its was created by Robot Entertainment, the guys that made Orcs Must Die (if you don’t know that game and like games, do yourself a favor and learn about it).

Hero Academy is a head-to-head tactics game for iOS devices. Think of it like chess on crack with a little randomness tossed in the mix. The best part is it has asynchronous multiplayer. That means you can battle friends when they have a few moments of free time. A push notifications well tell you when it’s your time to move. It’s basically Words with Friends for nerds!

I am not going to get in to all the gameplay now. You can watch this video for that or read this great review from Board Game Geek.

This game is amazing and it’s what iPhone gaming is all about. It has great looking graphics, easy to pick up and play, and a ton of fun. If you’re looking for something to pass the time with your friends pick this one up. My only complaint about the game is that there is no single player. You have to play with other people online, but that’s a minor gripe.

Hero Academy just came out today and is a free download. They plan to make money with in app purchases for new teams and stuff. Don’t worry this is nothing like FarmVille or a time suck game. Also you don’t have to buy anything to be competitive, it’s not a game were you are forced to pay money have fun. These guys know what they are doing and you will have no problem spending a buck for a new team or two.

iTunes link: Hero Academy (Free)

They have bacon toys, bacon frosting, bacon t-shirts and now bacon scented hand sanitizer.

I’m a strong believer that hand sanitizer will be the downfall of mankind. Every time some kid picks up a goose turd in the park his mom comes running over with a gallon jug of Purell and pours it over his whole body. Sure she thinks she is doing the “good mother” thing by protecting her child from the evil germs of the world but really she is weakening his immune system. Sometimes a kid just has to get a little poop in their mouth so their white blood cells can learn how to fight off bacteria leaving them stronger and more capable of survival in this disgusting filth covered world.

But if the thought of having dirty hands for more than a millisecond is too much for you to bear then at least you can clean them with the smell of the Gods. PorkKleen Bacon Scented Hand Sanitizer will not only clean your tiny pick pocket hands but will let the world know that you’re a Bacon lover. So if you must sanitize, do it with bacon.

PorkKleen Bacon Scented Hand Sanitizer is available at ThinkGeek for $3.99.

You can also buy other bacon goodies at the Mr. Baconpants Bacon Store.
