On behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch.

Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans. Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series. His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.’ Our thoughts are with Samantha, Brexton and Lennix, Kyle and Samantha’s parents, Kurt and all of Kyle’s family, Richard and Judy Childress, everyone at Richard Childress Racing, his teammates, friends and fans. NASCAR lost a giant of the sport today, far too soon.

Gray, Riendeau And Chambers Are May Day Winners At Claremont

CLAREMONT, N.H. Chris Riendeau and Chris Chambers each scored there second win of the season Friday, May 1, at Claremont Motorsports Park. The victory kept Riendeau perfect on the young season at the Thrasher Road speedplant, while Chambers’ win was his second in three strong outings.

Joining the two Vermont aces in celebrating victories Friday were fellow Green Mountain Boys Brandon Gray and Trevyr Young. Only hometown hot shoe Kyle Templeton was able to prevent a Vermont sweep, as the two-time defending track Mini Stock champion romped to victory in his division’s first outing of the summer.

Stephen Donahue and Gray sat up front as the chilly night’s 50-lap Tour Type Late Model main event went green. Donahue, a close runner-up to 2025 titlist Aaron Fellows a summer ago, pounced on the opening lead, with Gray virtually glued to his bumper.

The dynamic duo raced under a blanket for 38 laps, with Gray – the reigning speedway Super Street champ – apparently aboard the faster car, while Donahue remained laser focused on holding a perfect line. But on that lap, Gray dove low and under Donahue in turn one, taking the lead along the backchute and then blasting off to win by a country mile in the caution-free event.

With the flying Vermonters taking the checkers far ahead of all others, hometown pilot Aiden White was atop the best of the rest, outgunning Allen Fellows for third. Seth Drown, wheeling his new Late Model as he makes the jump from Ridge Runners to Late Models, was fifth on the night.

Daniel Petrowicz and Joe Tetreault led the RE Hinkley Fuels Super Streets to the green Friday, with Petrowicz taking the lap one lead, with Chris Riendeau – firing from row two – soon to his bumper, as the Ascutney ace quickly set out to duplicate his victory of seven days earlier. To that goal, Riendeau low-lined to the front on the fifth go-round.

Heat race winner Robert Hagar elected to stay pitside for the night’s 25-lap feature, and potent Cody Schoolcraft joined him there after a single lap. That left Petrowicz, a Bay State veteran who had never trophied, to hold Riendeau accountable.

Never wavering, Petrowicz scored his first career podium finish, earning runner-up honors just two lengths behind the speedy Riendeau. Upper Valley hot shoe Joe Tetreault was third on the night, David Thibodeau fourth, and steady Andrew Merritt went home fifth.

The LaValley Building Supply Pure Stocks again showed up in force Friday at CMP, with a field of 17 top combatants taking the green. Starting up front, Chris Chambers again showed the muscles he had flexed here two weeks ago with his Spring Fling victory.

And, like in that winning performance, he was again strongly tested Friday.Travis Handt and Ben Bushey were Chamber’; chief persuers early, with Gage Dillinghaml and Carter Conroy, both aboard rocketships, mired in traffic mid-pack.

Dillingham advanced to second on lap eight, while Conroy made it into the top five on lap 11 and then third eight go-rounds later. Still, Chambers had the hot hand on this chilly Friday night, taking the checkers a full ten lengths ahead of Dillingham. With Conroy – the points leaders entering Friday’s battle – a close third, reigning Pure Stock champ Colton Hull was fourth and Tim Taft completed the top five.

In the Mini Stocks’ first outing of the season, division super man Kyle Templeton ran a one-man race to dominate both his heat and then feature races. Templeton picked up where he’d left off last autumn, winning by a half lap over Dick LaMotte, Sean Lantas, and Andrea St. Amour.

If last week was Lane Lantas’ showcase for dominance in the JP’s Trucking Ridge Runners, it was Trevyr Young’s time to shine Friday.

Young roared to easy victories in both his heat and feature races Friday, leaving no doubt that he’ll be a force to beat all summer. Lantas backed up his week two victory with a strong runner-up effort Friday.Kyle Buck, who raced Lantas wheel-to-wheel for many laps, impressed in third, with Ehan Meyette fourth, and Konner Janovsky fifth..

Claremont’s Ethan Weed blew away the field in the first outing of the 2026 CMP Spectator Racing series. He easily romped to victory over a six car field.

Claremont Motorsports Park returns to action next Friday, May 8, with an exciting full card of NASCAR Local Racing Series presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts oval track racing. Post time at CMP is 7:00 p.m. each Friday.

How Did Talladega Treat The Northeastern Drivers Last Weekend?

Carson Hocevar won the Cup Race at Talladega. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finished 18^th while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT had another bad day with a 39^th place finish.

In the O’Reily Series it was Corey Day who went to Victory Lane. Patrick Emerling, of LI, NY was 16^th with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ending up 31st.

A Menard ARCA race was also on the weekend card with Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY winning that one. Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA came in fifth.

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Race at Oxford Plains Speedway Postponed to June 6 Due to Forecasted Rain & Cold Weather

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 1, 2026) – Due to continued inclement weather forecasted for the Oxford area through the weekend, NASCAR and Oxford Plains Speedway officials have postponed the All States Materials Group 150 to Saturday, June 6. An updated event schedule will be shared at a later date.

The first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Oxford in nearly 35 years was originally scheduled for this Saturday, May 2, at 6:15 p.m. ET.

Stephen Kopcik enters Saturday’s event as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader following back-to-back victories at Martinsville Speedway and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. It is the first time in his career that he has led the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour standings.

Kopcik’s victories at Martinsville and Thompson made him just the second driver in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour history to win his first and second career races in consecutive events. Rick Fuller was the first to do it in 1988 when he scored his first and second victories in consecutive events at Orange County Speedway and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Only a handful of active NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competitors have ever raced at Oxford Plains. They include Jon McKennedy and Matt Hirschman, each of whom have earned wins at Oxford Plains Speedway during their respective careers.

Public Invited to Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America Stop at Victory Junction on May 9, Featuring Racing Legends and Celebrity Riders

RANDLEMAN, N.C. (May 4, 2026) – Victory Junction invites the public to be part of a milestone moment as the 30th anniversary Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America rolls into Camp on Saturday, May 9, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at 4500 Adam’s Way in Randleman, N.C., with gates opening from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet riders, take photos with celebrity guests, receive autographs, and purchase memorabilia benefiting Victory Junction.

High Limit 410 Sprints Set To Open Levan Machine & Truck Equipment Thunder Series At Grandview Speedway, Tuesday, May 19

BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 3, 2026 . . . . . . . . . . . . . Tuesday night, May 19 the Levan Machine & Truck Equipment Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will open at the Grandview Speedway when Levan Machine & Truck Equipment and RICH MAR Florist present the fourth visit of the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing Roto-Rooter Midweek 410 Sprint Series. The roster of talent is impressive with expected entries Ryan Timms, Tyler Courtney, Kyle Larson, Tanner Thorson, Aaron Reutzel, Brent Marks, Kasey Kahne and defending High Limit Champion Rico Abreu. Local PA Posse talent will be in chase of the $20,000 first place prize and in addition, Alpine Building Supply added a $2,000 bonus if a PA driver tops the High Limit stars to win the 35 lap Hodnett Cup.

This process goes extremely quick and smooth and allows all advance ticket holders to select their seats prior to general admission tickets going on sale. On race night, gates will open at 4:30 PM for Advance ticket holders, with general admission tickets going on sale at 5 PM at the main entrance. In the event of rain, Wednesday night, May 20 will be the rain date. Following opening ceremonies, heat race qualifying will take the green flag at 7:35 PM.

The Hodnett Cup is dedicated to Greg Hodnett, a feature winner, multiple champion and star of the PA Posse who lost his life in a racing accident in 2018. The Hodnett Cup is an actual trophy that belonged to Greg, and each year, the event winners’ name is added to the cup. Previous winners of the Hodnett Cup at Grandview include Danny Dietrich (2019) , Aaron Reutzel (2020), Kyle Larson (2021), Rico Aberu in 2022, 2023 and Logan Schuchart invaded and won the $10,000 prize in the 2024 running of the event. Rain stopped the show from taking place in 2025.

The May 19 event at Grandview will be the fourth visit by High Limit Racing, a series owned by Brad Sweet and NASCAR star Kyle Larson. Thunder on the Hill and Grandview Speedway were proudly one of just twelve tracks in the country selected to host this organization in their first season in 2023. Another first for Thunder on the Hill is the May 19 show is one of just six High Limit events that will be presented on FS1 (Fox Sports 1) in 2026. Both FS1 and FloRacing will air the High Limit 410 Sprints placing the Grandview one-third mile high-banked dirt oval in Bechtelsville, PA on the National stage. Estimated viewing may exceed 350,000.

At all Thunder Shows be sure to look for Ms. Thunder on the Hill Maddie Stephens joined by Thunder Girls Alyssa Holmes and Samantha Maguire. The team of Thunder Girls are there to assist you in numerous ways including the Inside/Out Promotion, Pit Tours, special give aways and to celebrate with the event winners in victory lane.

The Levan Machine & Truck Equipment Thunder Series will continue with the opening night of the 19^th Annual Amsoil USAC Non-Wing Sprints Eastern Storm National Tour plus 358 Modifieds on Tuesday night, June 16 with a 7:30 PM starting time. Thunder on the Hill and Grandview Speedway were the nucleus of the creation of the USAC Eastern Storm, and it is so fitting that they would again host the opening event of the Eastern Storm.

Alpine Building Supply is the race night sponsor as the top National non-wing sprint racers chase the Levan Machine & Truck Equipment $12,000 to win USAC Series Point Fund. This event is the Jesse Hockett Classic, a 40-lap feature paying $6,000 to the winner in a tribute to Jesse Hockett. The Grandview 358 Modifieds will be on the racing program taking part in a series of qualifying events highlighted by a 30-lap feature paying $3,000 to win. Alpine Building Supply will again post a $2,000 bonus for a first time Thunder Modified feature winner. $5,000 to win 30 laps for your first Thunder win is a treat and Alex Yancowski and Eric Kormann both pocketed the Alpine bonus in previous years.

The Thunder finale is set for Tuesday night, June 30 when the Red Robin Pennsylvania 410 Sprint Speed Week Series and the 358 Modifieds team up for a spectacular doubleheader. Start time is 7:30 PM with the 410 Sprints opening with time trials at 7 PM followed by a series of qualifying events leading up to the 35-lap feature paying $10,000 to win. The 358 Modifieds will also compete in qualifying events and a 30-lap feature paying $3,000 to win. Once again, Alpine Building Supply will post a $2,000 bonus to any first time Thunder Modified feature winner.

The 358 Modifieds will follow the weekly Grandview Speedway car specifications.
