After a six-week hiatus, the ARCA Menards Series returns to action in the Tide 150, the third race of the 20 that make up the 2026 season. It’s the first of two races scheduled for Kansas Speedway; the second will be the season finale in September.

The 30-car entry list is the largest for an ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway since 2016.

Nitro Motorsports’ Jake Bollman (No. 20 Nitro Motorsports Toyota) leads the ARCA Menards Series championship standings entering the Tide 150. Bollman finished second in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway and followed it with a sixth-place result at Phoenix Raceway. He will be making his first career start at Kansas Speedway.

Bollman leads Jason Kitzmiller (No. 97 A.L.L. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet) by nine points heading into the Tide 150. Kitzmiller finished seventh in the season opener at Daytona and battled to a 16th-place finish at Phoenix after an accident in practice necessitated a switch to a backup car.

Ryan Vargas (No. 91 Maples Motorsports Ford) enters the Tide 150 third in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, just one point out of second. Vargas finished seventh at Daytona, the best finish for the budding Michael Maples Motorsports team in its second year of existence.

Dystany Spurlock (No. 66 Foxxtecca Ford) will make her ARCA Menards Series debut in the Tide 150, and when she takes the green flag she will become the first Black female driver to compete in an ARCA Menards Series race. She accomplished the same feat in the ARCA Menards East, finishing seventh in her debut race at Hickory Motor Speedway three weeks ago.

Daytona winner Gio Ruggiero (No. 18 First Auto Group Toyota) returns to the seat of the Joe Gibbs Racing entry, and Jack Wood (No. 28 Chevrolet Performance Chevrolet) returns to the Pinnacle Racing Group entry.

Garrett Mitchell (No. 30 Kenetik Ford), known to his millions of fans as Cleetus McFarland, will make his second start of the year with the ARCA Menards Series in the Tide 150. Mitchell competed in the ARCA Menards East race at Rockingham, scoring his first-ever top-five finish in fourth.

George Siciliano (No. 0 Heat Wave Visuals Ford), known to millions of viewers of Cleetus McFarland’s YouTube channel as Squirrel McNutt, will make his ARCA Menards Series debut after competing in ARCA Menards East races at Hickory and Rockingham Speedway. Siciliano finished an impressive ninth at Rockingham in just his second ever professional stock car start.

Andy Jankowiak (No. 71 Sbarro Chevrolet) will look to rebound from an 18th-place finish at Phoenix. The result does not belie the performance for the KLAS Motorsports team; Jankowiak was in the top five at the mid-race break but lost three laps when the battery failed on the car as the field lined up for the ensuing restart.

ARCA Menards West regular Robbie Kennealy (No. 11 Jan’s Towing Ford) will make his third ARCA Menards Series start of the season in the Tide 150. Kennealy earned a seat in the ARCA Menards Series “Road to Daytona” program during the January pre-race practice at Daytona by virtue of his 2025 West Series’ Bounty Rookie of the Year award. Kennealy and team owner Jan Qualkenbush enjoyed the experience at Daytona so much they entered into a strategic alliance with 1995 ARCA Menards Series champion Andy Hillenburg for the Daytona race, where Kennealy finished 15th. Kennealy and Qualkenbush also intend to compete at Talladega Superspeedway next weekend.

Daniel Dye (No. 24 Champion Container Corporation Chevrolet) will make his second start of the season with the Sigma Performance Services team. Dye finished fourth at Daytona; he has two previous ARCA Menards Series starts at Kansas Speedway, finishing third and fourth in the two 2022 races.

Lanie Buice (No. 77 Sunoco Chevrolet) makes her first start of the season in the second Pinnacle Racing Group entry. The No. 77 entry has had a productive hiatus, winning both ARCA Menards East races at Hickory and Rockingham with Tristan McKee at the wheel. Buice finished eighth in her ARCA Menards Series debut at Kansas Speedway in Apri 2025; it’s her first start since she finished 12th at Bristol Motor Speedway last September.

There have been 33 previous ARCA Menards Series races at Kansas Speedway. Previous winners include Jason Jarrett (2001), Frank Kimmel (2002, 2006, 2013), Shelby Howard (2003), Ryan Hemphill (2004), Chad Blount (2005), Scott Lagasse, Jr. (20707), Scott Speed (2008), Parker Kligerman (2009), Ty Dillon (2010), Alex Bowman (2011, 2012), Spencer Gallagher (2014), Mason Mitchell (2015), Chase Briscoe (2016), Michael Self (2017), Sheldon Creed (2018), Christian Eckes (2019), Bret Holmes (2020), Corey Heim (2020, 2022), Ty Gibbs (2021), Nick Sanchez (2021, 2022), Jesse Love (2023), Connor Mosack (2023, 2024), Tanner Gray (2024), and Brenden Queen (2 – 2025).

Alex Bowman holds the ARCA Menards Series track qualifying record at Kansas Speedway, set in 2012, at 29.258 seconds/184.559 miles per hour.

Christian Eckes holds the ARCA Menards Series track race record at Kansas Speedway, set in 2019, at 1 hour, 3 minutes, 31 seconds / 141.695 miles per hour.

The record for most cautions in an ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway is 10, set in 2006 for a record 53 laps. The record for the fewest cautions is two, set in 2019 and matched in 2020-2, 2021-2, and 2023-2; the fewest laps under caution is six in 2020-2.

The Tide 150 is set for 12:30 pm ET/ 11:30 am CT on Saturday, April 18. The race will be broadcast live on FS1 and can be heard in select affiliates of the MRN Radio network nationwide. Live timing & scoring data and live race audio will be available on ARCARacing.com; for up-to-the-minute updates please follow @ARCA_Racing on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Barre, VT & Naples, ME — Officials with the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series have been forced to make changes to the schedule of the 6t annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway due to forecasted showers on Friday and Sunday. That said, Officials have opted to build a one-day show on Saturday, April 18 with a 1:00pm start time. Teams and campers will still be able to arrive on site starting at 4:00pm Friday for camping and early pit parking until 7:00pm.

Following a perfect weather weekend at Thompson Speedway for the annual Icebreaker, ACT and PASS officials were optimistic for a clear start to the season but Mother Nature has made other plans. With several meteorological sites calling for heavy downpours on Friday and Sunday, Officials have opted to make the 6th annual Northeast Classic into a one day show on Saturday.

Pit Gates will open at 6:30am for teams to begin preparations for the day with Grandstands open at 9:30am alongside the start of Practice. Racing will begin at 1:00pm with qualifying events. All divisions will get three rounds of practice. With the schedule change the 604 Modifieds have been dropped from the event due to time constraints and Friday’s early parking between 4:00pm and 7:00pm remains on the schedule.

The Pit Booth will be open Friday, April 17 between 4:00pm and 7:00pm to pre-sell pit passes ahead of Saturday’s early morning opening. Parking for campers and race teams will also be available between 4:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday.

“This is by no means a decision we take lightly as we make every effort to get this event in to start our season,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “Saturday’s forecast is much more optimistic and we’re looking forward to getting our teams another great experience on the Magic Mile.”

The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour will kick off the 2026 season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the 6th annual Northeast Classic on Saturday, April 18. Complete with the PASS Super Late Models, Modified Racing Series, R&R Street Stock Open Series and Pro Truck Challenge, the Northeast Classic will once again give Northeast racers their chance to take on our region’s great palace of stock car racing on Saturday, April 18.

Thompson, CT — Sunny Saturday greeted the fans at Thompson Speedway to kick off the 52nd Icebreaker with thirty cars filling out the Monaco Modified field. Ronnie Williams quickly took the point with just 75 laps on the board to claim the $10,000 winners share at the end. Berndt would put the hammer down in his #11CT to steal the lead away from Williams with Jon McKennedy taking advantage of the backslide to take second. While McKenndy crept up on Berndt at the front, fans had their eye on Mike Christopher Jr. and Ron Silk as they made their way into the top five by lap thirty.

Chase Grennan’s turn-around dust-up with the turn two wall brought the caution out just before the halfway point. A rough pitstop took Eric Berndt all the way back to 15th on the grid leaving Williams, McKennedy, Trevor Catalano and Christopher Jr. into the top two rows. A wild three-wide restart saw Mike Christopher Jr. take the top spot as McKennedy and Catalano continued to battle on the inside of Williams and Patrick Emerling. As laps ticked down, McKennedy and Christopher went toe-to-toe, swapping the lead back and forth prior to Joey Cipriano’s spin right in front of them with just four laps remaining.

Choosing the top, McKennedy took the highside momentum to the lead leaving Christopher and Emerling to duke it out for second. Jon McKenndy would take the dominant 1.169-second lead to win the Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 with Michael Christopher Jr. and Patrick Emerling rounding out the top three. Jake Johnson made better of early handling issues to take fourth with Ronnie Williams holding on for fifth.

The R&R Open Street Stock Series kicked-off Saturday’s racing action at Thompson Speedway with hotshoe Ryan Lineham launching from the pole position. A spirited battle with Jimmy Renfrew Jr. ended early with mechanical woes under the hood of Renfrew’s #00 machine allowing Lineham to continue his lead. Ryan Lineham continued his strong streak in the R&R Open Street Stock Series with the $1,000 win over Shane Gendron and Andrew Gillis at the line.

In one of the strongest fields in recent memory the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds roared to life for the first of two Icebreaker weekend appearances with longtime foes Keith Rocco and Todd Owen leading the field to green. The two competitors swapped the lead end-over-end for the fans on hand and those watching online on the North East Short Track Network. Later labeled a dogfight by the eventual winner, the two wily veterans fought hard with Danny Cates and former champion Jon Puleo waiting in the wings.

Cates began going to bat with Owen for second, allowing Keith Rocco the create the wide margin he needed to go all the way to the opening Icebreaker win. Todd Owen came home second with Jon Puleo to round out the top three. The Thompson Sunoco Modifieds will return tomorrow as part of the Sunday showcase of the 52nd Icebreaker weekend with scores yet to be settled.

The Pro Truck Challenge got their start to 2026 at the Thompson Icebreaker with Jason Paquette and Burt Ouellette swapping the lead early. By the halfway point fellow strong-runner Randy Burr made his way into the mix around Paquette with his sights set on Ouellette. A blown powerplant under the hood of Mercedes Carron’s truck made for a five-lap dash to the end between Burr and Ouellette. While it was an honest chase, Randy Burr stood tall over Ouellette for the win with Dennis Charette rounding out the podium.

Paul Scally got the jump under the green flag but it was Zack Martinez who ran away with a two second lead early. The battle for second became the hot show with Kyle Valeri jumping up into the mix in a three wide move in turn three on lap three! Dylan Coutu went up in flames on lap five to call out the first red flag of the year with a blown motor ruining his day and starting a wild ride that saw him flip on his side in turn one. Back under green it was evident that Martinez was in a league of his own, dominating the Icebreaker 20 lap feature over Kyle Valeri and Joey Bailey.

The Thunderstock Crown Vics rounded out the opening day showcase at Thompson Speedway with a 360-spin for polesitter Dustin Demers leaving John Williams, Jr. the big lead. Seven-time winner last season, Ethan Williams powered up to within striking distance of his father John but the ol’ man got it done for the final win of Icebreaker Saturday over son Ethan and John Dulac third.

Thompson Speedway is back in action tomorrow for a Sunday showcase special headlined by the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Icebreaker 150 alongside the second Thompson Sunoco Modified event of the weekend plus the Late Models, SK Light Modifieds and Street Stocks with a 2:00pm Post Time!

Thompson, CT — Yet another picture-perfect day greeted the fans at Thompson Speedway to finish off the 52nd Icebreaker with the help of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Single car, time-trial qualifying saw Mike Christopher Jr. leading much of the session before Matt Hirschman and Jon McKennedy both tied with a 19.125-second lap. Hirschman would lead the twenty-nine car field to green for the Icebreaker 150.

McKennedy took over the top spot with a strong inside exit off turn two, leading the pack as Christopher Jr. and Stephen Kopcik dug in and followed in second and third. McKennedy’s day almost came to a grinding halt with Trevor Catalano backwards by the turn two gate with the leader narrowly escaping calamity as the yellow lights flashed. A long green flag run would follow with McKennedy leading the way as Matt Swanson cut his way through to third on the grid before Ronnie Williams’ left rear decided to leave the building on lap 107.

The majority of the field jumped into the pits for fresh American Racer rubber with Stephen Kopcik winning the race off pit road and just 35 laps remaining. Kopcik tried to pull away on the outside groove but McKennedy held on. It wasn’t until a brewing battle with Ron Silk finally put the nail in the coffin for McKennedy, allowing Stephen Kopcik to run all the way to Icebreaker victory lane for his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at Thompson Speedway making it two in a row on the NASCAR circuit. Ron Silk and Mike Christopher Jr. rounded out the top three followed by McKennedy and Hirshman rounding out the top-five.

A strong field of SK Light Modifieds made their start of the season with Daltin McCarthy quickly taking control over last year’s championship runner-up John O’Sullivan. A freight-train quickly began around the top side as O’Sullivan calculated his move behind McCarthy with each lap coming on the scoreboard. Following a quick-spin caution, Kevin Davis joined the front row picture, sharing a few divebomb moves with McCarthy before the original frontrunners made contact on the final lap sending McCarthy into the turn one wall and O’Sullivan penalized to last of the lead lap cars. Young Kevin Davis took down the Big-T win over Danny Gamache Jr. and newcomer Milania Shilosky.

(Alan Ward photo)

Matt Lowinski-Loh took charge of the Late Model front row after getting the jump on defending champion Jake Johnson as ‘The Jet’ went to battle Jacob Burns for second. Just after the halfway point Johnson made his way underneath Jacob Burns to finally put the #91CT before time ran out at the end. Matt Lowinski-Loh dominated to the end with the 25-lap Icebreaker win over Johnson and Burns at the line.

Sophomore racer Zack Sangermano jetted off with the Thompson Sunoco Modified feature event as Saturday front-runners Todd Owen and Keith Rocco worked to build momentum at the tail end of the top-ten. Contact with Rocco and Derek Ramstrom in turn two sent Ramstrom pitside and Rocco to the rear for the assist with Sangermano and Chase Cook bringing the field back to green. Rocco would make it back into the top spot underneath Todd Owen with ten laps remaining, reigniting Saturday’s duel between the two masters.

With Rocco on the defense watching Owen in his mirror, Jon Puleo remained in the cat-bird seat in third, waiting to pounce just inches away if the two rivals made a poor choice. Unfortunately for Puleo, that chance never came with Keith Rocco making it two-for-two at the 52nd Icebreaker with Owen and Puleo rounding out the podium.

The Street Stocks finished off the evening with Austin Erickson and Jarrod Soucy bringing the field to green for their 20 lap closer. Erickson led the way but multi-time 2025 winner George Baldwin rapidly made his way into second. Saturday’s R&R Open Street Stock winner Ryan Lineham made his presence known at the halfway point, passing Baldwin for second and setting his sights on Erickson’s one second lead. It was too much to overcome as Austin Erickson took the checkered flag over Lineham and Baldwin at the line.

Branham and Holly Cain will appear at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, April 26, joining two‑time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch for a fan Q&A prior to the Jack Link’s 500 NASCAR Cup Series race.

The Q&A will take place at 11:25 a.m. CT on the NASCAR Experience Stage in the infield of the iconic 2.66‑mile oval. Earlier in the weekend, on Friday, April 24, Branham and Cain will participate in a 3:30 p.m. CT press conference in the track’s infield media center. The award‑winning journalists previously co‑authored NASCAR Mavericks, published by Motorbooks in 2024.

The officially licensed NASCAR Champions, publishing April 28, chronicles every title winner in the history of the Cup Series – thirty‑six champions through 2025 – with in‑depth profiles of their careers, defining seasons, and lasting impact on the sport. The book opens with a playful twist: a foreword by Mark Martin, widely regarded as the greatest driver to never win the Cup Series Championship. Its afterword, delivered by 1960 champion Rex White just days before his passing at age 95, adds a poignant historical coda.

Between those bookends, readers will find a chronological showcase of rarely seen and newly unearthed images from the NASCAR Archives, paired with storytelling that channels the unfiltered, behind‑the‑scenes spirit of NASCAR Mavericks. The result is a vivid, era‑spanning journey into the heart of stock‑car racing.

About the authors

H.A. Branham worked in the communications departments at NASCAR and Daytona International Speedway for nearly two decades, following a 21‑year career as an editor and writer at the Tampa Tribune. He is the author of Big Bill: The Life and Times of NASCAR Founder Bill France Sr.; Bill France Jr.: The Man Who Made NASCAR; The NASCAR Family Album; The NASCAR Vault; and NASCAR Mavericks. A graduate of the University of South Florida and a native of Indianapolis, Branham lives in Ormond Beach, Florida, with his wife, Catherine.

Holly Cain is a veteran sports reporter who has covered all forms of auto racing for more than three decades—from legends such as Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and A.J. Foyt to modern stars including Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Scott Dixon, Kyle Larson, and Max Verstappen. She has worked for major newspapers in Tampa, Dallas, and Seattle, and has written for AOL Fanhouse, CBS Sports, NASCAR.com, and the NASCAR Wire Service.
The ARCA Menards Series East will open its 40th season with the Cook Out 200 at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 28. It will be the first time the ARCA Menards Series platform will compete at the 0.363-mile oval, and the highest level NASCAR-sanctioned touring series race at the track since what is now the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series raced there in April, 1998.

There have been 35 NASCAR Cup Series races and 42 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races held at Hickory Motor Speedway. NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Junior Johnson leads the way with seven Cup Series wins, while Jack Ingram and Tommy Houston each won eight O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races.

Reigning series champion Isaac Kitzmiller (No. 79 A.L.L. Construction / Carter CAT Chevrolet) will initiate his title defense in the Cook Out 200. The sixteen-year-old Kitzmiller will be in search of his first career series victory; his best finish last season on his way to the championship was fourth at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway; he finished seventh in the ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix Raceway earlier this month.

Joe Gibbs Racing will launch its defense of the ARCA Menards East owner’s championship with 16-year-old Max Reaves (No. 18 Cook Out Toyota) scheduled to run all eight series races. Reaves, the protégé of 2000 NASCAR Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte, won his first three East Series starts in 2025.

NASCAR Cup Series spotter Derek Kneeland (No. 28 A&D Welding / Kryptoquiet Marine Bearings Chevrolet), who calls the shots from the roof for two-time champion Kyle Busch, will make his ARCA Menards East debut driving the potent Pinnacle Racing Group Chevrolet. The PRG team won the 2025 ARCA Menards Series championship with Brenden “Butterbean” Queen at the wheel and is led by former Hickory Motor Speedway track champion Shane Huffman. Kneeland will be joined by PRG teammate Tristan McKee (No. 77 Tibbetts Lumber Company Chevrolet), who will compete for the ARCA Menards East championship in 2026. McKee is the second-youngest ARCA Menards Series winner, winning at Watkins Glen International last year at 15 years, 4 days of age, behind only Todd Gilliland who won at Toledo Speedway in 2015 at 15 years, 1 day of age.

Huffman’s son Landon S. Huffman (No. 9 Hoosier Daddy/Hoosier Momma Car Care Products Chevrolet) will make his ARCA Menards East debut in a second CR7 Motorsports entry, a teammate to reigning series champion Isaac Kitzmiller. Hall won the NASCAR weekly national championship in 2023 and 2024.

George Siciliano (No. 0 Heat Wave Visual Ford), known to his fans on Cleetus McFarland’s YouTube channel as “Squirrel McNutt”, will make his professional stock car debut in the Cook Out 200.

Nitro Motorsports team principal Nick Tucker (No. 70 Nitro Motorsports Toyota) will make his return to the cockpit for the first time since 2013 on Saturday. Tucker made 14 career ARCA Menards Series starts and 29 career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts before transitioning to team management and driver coaching. He’ll have former East Series championship-winning crew chief Shannon Rursch calling the shots from pit road.

Reigning ARCA Menards East Bounty Rookie of the Year Austin Vaughn (No. 19 Maples Motorsports Ford) makes the move to the Michael Maples Motorsports team, while Brian Barbarow (No. 34 Parked It Alliance Ford) will take over the Dee Vaughn-owned ride.

The Cook Out 200 will be run with the break pit stop format; there will be a five-minute break at or near lap 100. Teams will be able to change tires, add fuel, and make adjustments during the break without losing position on the track.

The 2026 NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts gets the opening weekend party started with seven divisions of racing on NASCAR Pack the Track Night Saturday May 2nd, with the annual May Meltdown is set to round out opening weekend Sunday May 3rd featuring Enduro and INEX Bandolero racing.

Riverhead Raceway Chief of Inspection Randy Murray and his staff will be available from 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM both April 4th and April 11th to perform Safety Tech inspections. Teams are reminded that no cars are permitted to practice during the two practice days on Saturday April 18th & April 25th without going through and passing Safety Tech and receiving a sticker noting they have. A $20 per car fee will be charged for Safety Tech.

“I must stress once again that no engines are to be started at any time during the two Safety Tech Inspection days” Riverhead Raceway GM John Ellwood emphasized, “we’ll have a push truck here for those who need it, no exceptions”.

Ellwood also noted race teams are able to purchase Hoosier Tires and Sunoco Race Fuel during the two Safety Tech Inspection days.

Once the inspection days are in the books, attention quickly turns to the two practice days set for Riverhead Raceway featuring free admission to the grandstands both April 18th & April 25th. Cars take to the track at 11:00 AM and will practice into the late afternoon with teams striving to find the right set-up for opening weekend success.

Barre, VT – The North East Short Track Network (NESTN) has announced today their plans to offer a subscription format to their already popular Pay-Per-View lineup for the 2026 season. While the Pay-Per-View option that built the platform will remain for all events, NESTN has also released both a Monthly and Yearly subscription option to race fans across the globe.

Starting today, race fans can subscribe to watch over 70 events in 2026. While every event will continue to be available in a Pay-Per-View format, fans can also support this local start-up by subscribing to a cancel-anytime Monthly plan for $60 a month or purchase a Yearly subscription for $350. Yearly subscribers will get the benefit of watching each event for under $6 a piece with access to much more!

Active subscribers will have access to all live events and on-demand replays of both current and past events while Pay-Per-View fans can rewatch past purchases. Along with the eight events during the midsummer stretch, subscribers will also have access to the entire Thunder Road schedule 72 hours after all events air live.

Subscribers to NESTN will access select events at Thunder Road Speedbowl, on the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series as well as White Mountain Motorsports Park, Thompson Speedway, Lee USA Speedway and on the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series.

“They were aware that subscriptions were the number one question mark for fans and this is something NESTN has put a lot of thought into,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “The three options allow a watch-it-your-way alternative that isn’t available anywhere else.”
