Think you are a lazy person ;Get angry and frustrated with yourself for failing.
When people procrastinate over issues such as setting goals or taking steps to realise a life ambition it is often attributed to laziness . But the fact is that procrastination is a by-product of a discomfort in the mind or a sign that something is going on the wrong way. What are the causes of procrastination? The real good news is not in the cause but in the solution .

And that is ,you can handle procrastination and get on with your life and be the best you are created to be.<!-google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore)->There is a wisdom and ability of God for you to handle it.<!-google_ad_section_end->

Procrastination could be caused by over-indulgence in a particular activities ( watching TV, surfing on internet, chatting etc) that you find it hard to switch over to things more important to your personal development. How about working out a time-management timetable for yourself? You have to learn to control your time usage. Set goals. This can help you to become more focused and targeted for a purpose. Have clear priorities in life (everything cannot be equally important and benefiting) . Things you don't quite enjoy doing are often more important to your personal development. Have a timetable for the day and tell someone (who cares about your personal development)your plan . This can help you become accountable.

Do you get easily distracted and depressed that you find it hard to stay long and focused on a project, thereby procrastinating . <!-google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore)->There is an ability and peace of God for your mind. Confess the living word of God over your mind.<!-google_ad_section_end-> Stop worrying about getting your acts right that will cloud your mind with anxiety, worries and fear which will invariably cause distraction, distress and depression. Don't get down worrying about your actions that will cause you to procrastinate on performing that action again. Just do it and get moving.

Stop clouding your mind with thoughts of the expected end product of a project. Rather than wondering about a project ,use that time to put in building blocks.
Learn taking one step at a time , one issue at a time, one level at a time. Concentrate on the task for the NOW.

There is this nice piece of news -Seal Your Fate -Don't Procrastinate reported on sfgate.com . Don't run your goal as a car without a break or as robot.I believe in dynamism in goal setting . That is the ability to review , analyse and relaunch yourself.

Take the time to review your goal. This review session can be weekly , monthly as you deem fit . Just make sure it is at a regular interval. It can be a frustrating crowd. In this post , I am going to give tips on how to prevent excessive goal plan.

1. Keep your Goal Plan Understandable to You

Don't copy , work from what you know to what you don't know (yet to know). Don't complicate things for yourself.

.2 Keep it Simple

It naturally follows from the first tip . If you keep you goal plan understandable it will be simple enough for you to follow through and manage.

3.Start from your Own Level

Start now. Jumping steps in your goal plan can make things crowded with so much to do , so much discovered.

4.Map out Time for Brainstorming

Don't use all your time for brainstorming . Achievement of your goal needs a good mix of brainstorming and actions .

5. Pen Down all the New Things Discovered

New ideas discovered during brainstorming should be documented for easy reference during decision making.

6. Learn to Take Decisions Fast

If you are going to wait until you know 'all ' before taking decision after brainstorming ,you may never do so . Learn to get the if(s) and the how(s)off your way and take a stand.

7. Have a Daily TimeTable

Timetable is like a compass for the day, guiding your usage of time. If you don't plan for anything then you don't expect to achieve anything.

8. Keep Your Pace under Control

There is always this temptation to fast track in your goal plan. Manage your speed before things spin out of your control . I always say that the acquiring and the implementation of knowledge is in stages, requiring effort and time .Take one step at a time.

9. Control the Segmentation of Your Goal Plan

Chew what you can swallow at every moment.

10. Come to Terms with Perfecting

Perfecting your acts and not being perfect now. Perfecting on your acts is a gradual process . It may never be a day affair. It takes time and perseverance . Don't try to over do things else you may get overwhelmed by what you find in between. Maintain a steady ,reasonable pace you can grapple with.

11. Stop that Unhealthy Comparison

It is good to have mentors , those you admire their achievements but don't get so obsessed that you become too desperate and tend to forget that those people had their humble , toddler-steps beginnings . Let your goal plan move at the pace you can handle as you look up the sky.

Above all these , trust in God for wisdom and guidance in your goal plan.
<!-google_ad_section_end->

This is Real Self Development

There is a saying that if you don't know where you are going, you won't know when you have arrived at your destination. You must understand and be truly committed to self development else you find yourself just hyped up without any clear positive effects or find yourself ill-prepared for what it takes.

Self development must first be internal ,improving the spirit, mind and then intellect before it becomes external. Self development refines and better positions you to become what you are created to be . Self development rightly positions to discover and realise your life purpose .You are not just self improved to be the best CEO while found wanting in community development and your relationships.

A well-rounded self development does things in you and for you . It has domino effects. You live a life of failure as well as a life of success. It is not a one day thing . You actually live it while all that people see is the big bang but the truth is that you failed in you mind long ago .

Failure is set in place by a mindset just as success .That a project didn't work out as you expected , doesn't mean you failed or a failure . It equally means thatdyou have learnt another way not to so that project and a new way to do something.

Sometimes the problem is that of inability to avail yourself with specific knowledge and wisdom needed for a business venture and in the process of doing it learn the ways to it or not to do it .

Again the problem may be the lack of a clear cut idea of what your life purpose is all about , and therefore lack focus , dynamism, concentration , perseverance, and the faith to make your goal a reality. It can be that of distraction whereby you are not giving the best attention to that project as required. Whatsoever is the case , what counts is what you 'see' that process doing for you.

Do you 'see' the process you are going through as working for your good and that you will come out better and better equipped for your life purpose or a frustrating failure?

You have to be careful about being unteachable . It can be so subtly that you will swear you are not. A situation whereby you see a learning experience as an indication that you have failed and by so doing never get to learn anything so as to better position yourself for that you are hoping for is an example of being unteachable . A teachable spirit sees new things learnt from every experience ,absorbs the information, analyzes them and makes decision for a more precise action. It is more than putting up an acceptable physical demeanour.

"Failure is a success if we learn from it"--Malcolm Forbes

I always say that I am a success . I do not fail , I learn and apply knowledge .It is impossible for me to fail. I have the wisdom for any business I get involved with . These are my confessions . Even a mistake works out for my good . I have the mindset of a victor.
<!google_ad_section_end-><!-google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore)->
".....in all things God work for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose"--Romans 8:28

This doesn't mean that there is nothing like failing at something but that what you perceive an experience to be is what it becomes to you and that will form your attitude towards it.

I choose to reject failure and stay positive with the living Word of God.

<!google_ad_section_end->
<!-google_ad_section_start->
I have an uncle who complains bitterly about how he failed in so many business ventures, but if you stay close long enough , it is not difficult to figure out his problem. The fear of failure have gotten the hold on him so much that he sees failure always which eventually happens to him. The reasons are not far-fetched , there is always the "what if(s)", "how to(s)", "where to(s)" questions bombarding your mind. When such questions come rushing on me, I fortify myself on the inside with these living words:

1. "....I can do all things through Him who strengths me....",Philippians 4:13.
2. And "I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go",Isaiah 48:17.

I have always said that the battle for the actualisation of your life purpose and ambition is primarily of the mind. If you win your mind , then most of the battle have been won.The realisation of your life purpose comes with a price: the determination in face of negative and cynical opinions ,commitment, faith , focused and targeted actions, perseverance, sacrifice.

Your list may be more or less depending on your own circumstances. But the good news is that you are well suited for your life purpose and can do it .You have a victory over every challenges even health challenges in Christ Jesus for He bore them for you.

I read a story, Do You need a Job,Consider Hiring Yourself, of someone who was able to look beyond his daily challenges and made up his mind to live a fulfilled life and go for his life purpose instead of being holed in jobs in didn't like. Enjoy it.

Excessive Planning is Dangerous to Your Goal

Are you stuck in your analysis of your goal plan .This is one of the commonest freezing point encountered when embarking on your goal plan. You have to be careful about overly analyzing and detailing of your goal plan. This can work against your realizing your goals.

When I started my business, every stage, every issue was sucking a lot of my time. I had this idea that I should get every detail clear and perfect before taking action or attending to any other issue relating to my goal plan. I would research, ask questions and spend so much time analyzing, putting on hold every other issue on my goal plan. The stress was getting on me and even demoralizing especially when I don't get exactly what I really wanted and faced with the ever increasing list of 'things to do' and 'things you must know' . This has the potential of knocking someone out of balance and causing you to give up on your goal.

There is something Tricky about This Tendency:
1.There is this illusion that there is enough time to do attend to other issues involved in your goal plan, but you find out that you are trapped in this vicious circle. You are ever discovering more details.

2.A fear that if you don’t get all details clear and perfect at the onset you will mess things up and will loose out.

3.There is this impression that the overall success of your goal plan depends on your perfecting on every detail.

4.The wrong idea that every issue involved in your goal plan must advance at the same pace. The impression that all aspects of your goal plan are equally dependent, that is, the growth in one area is dependent on the growth in another.

5.Inability to take definite actions because you are trapped in an analysis hole.

Some Facts you got to Know:

1. No organization really started perfect.

2. The business that appears perfect and inspiring to you now did not get to that position overnight. It took a process. A process running into months and years.

3. It wouldn’t have gotten to this admirable position if its owner waited for every detail of the goal plan to be perfect before moving on and doing other things.

4. If the owner had spent so much time perfecting, analyzing and detailing at beginning of the business, he/she would have become overwhelmed with details and given up on the goal.

5. He/she got this far doing something about every issue involved in the goal plan bit by bit.

6. Excessive analysis of goal plan gets you taking so little actions while thinking and analyzing too much.

7. Giving too much time for brainstorming at the expense of other important requirements of your goal plan is an example of poor time management.

8. Acquisition and application of knowledge are in stages. Time and energy are applied. Trying to fast tract the process can be stressful, unproductive and can backfire.

9. Taking decisions and actions based on information at hand doesn't mean that you are no more improving on that area.

Why Your Dream Appears Unreachable(Part 2)

In part (1) of this series, I mentioned that goal setting is a process. It is a dynamic process. I don't subscribe to static goal setting that you must stick to all way through as a robot, I believe in dynamism of the process. You actually live it and through God's guidance, there is wisdom to keep on the right track as it pertains to your life purpose. Don't get me wrong, this is not about excusing the lack of seriousness and commitment to see a goal through to success but about a prompting in your spirit to make relevant adjustments as the case may be that better positions you for your life purpose and ambitions. What you may enjoy or don’t mind doing may not give you satisfaction in life.
To explain further, goal setting should always reckon with the situation on ground(a job you may still keep, domestic issues you will still need to attend to), reckon with your satisfaction, your fulfillment and your purpose in life; with these in mind you will arrive at your own shore. By situation

Dynamism requires that the goal should be time -bound, understandable and realisable .You don’t have to over task your goal setting beyond what you can grapple with at a particular time. You actually graduate from one stage to another.

This factor of goal setting is especially important when you are not yet very sure and can't quite pinpoint anything as your life ambition. You may discover it as you move on with your life setting other goals that may not necessary be about your life purpose. You will discover the best of your strengths as you live your life determined to discover yourself and live for your life purpose and ambitions. Dynamism in goal setting creates a means for this discovery. Goal setting that is about your life ambition comes with the energy, strength, satisfaction and enthusiasm for it to survive the test of time. I can vividly remember when I started setting goals for my dream , my spirit was alive , joyful, expectant and satisfied that I was finally getting on with what I really wanted.

This article ,changing career info, is a good one .

Why Your Dream Appears Unreachable (Part 1)

When you are so passionate about becoming something or doing somethings , the next most vital step to take is setting goals to achieve the desired dream. Goal setting is the setting of time targeted objectives. For instance , you may have desired to have your own business and now you decided to set a target for yourself to quit your day job in the next two years and establish your business.

Goal setting is a proof that you really believe in that dream or ambition you are passionate about. Some major goals may require sub-goals to achieve them. I have always wanted to run my own business, help people realize their life purpose, and be actively involved in community programs. When I entered university, the idea became such an integral part of me that it got filtered into every discussion I had with colleagues . I knew this what I wanted of life . After graduation, I worked for few companies , not until I released the heat of this passion by sitting down and started setting goals geared towards achieving this ambitions that I actually felt responsive and integrated into these ambitions. I felt they was now really coming alive .

Goal setting is a process that will required the analyzing and understanding of different issues and elements involved. I started goal setting by evaluating my daily activities in relation to my ambitions, which I found to be very poor . I knew that if I continue doing things the way I do them, use my time the way I use it , I may never realise my dream. Then I had to decide which daily activity had to go, be on hold , which to keep and then which to delegate.

Then I had to clear the air. For goal setting to be focused and targeted, you need to be quite sure the direction you aiming for. If you have two or more independently unrelated ambitions, one may have to wait for the other to take root. Determine which one should come first, after which others will follow. In my case, I knew naturally that starting my business had to come first . Once it is standing fairly strong and demanding less effort ,then enough time, resources and energy will be freed to be plugged into other ambitions. This will ensure that the mind is not crowded which invariably leads to time wasting , inefficiency, stress , distraction and numbness.

Next in my goal setting was the mapping out of actionable , understandable ,and time- bound plans . I had to tell myself what I wanted to accomplish in the next three - four months, and what I have to do everyday to achieve my goal. Most often people don't like the phrase"time-bound" . It gets you wondering what if you don't achieve the plan within the stipulated time ,won't that give the impression of laziness and unseriousness. I don't quite like the phrase either but I found out that putting a time on a plan can be helpful (you might not quite like what is right for you). It have a way of keeping you on alert and making you bounce back to your drive when it starts waning.

For goal setting to be realizable and relevant it has to reckon with the situation presently on ground. By this I mean, since goal setting is primarily about time usage and time management geared towards achieving a goal(s), every activity that takes any percentage of your time should be recognized. Goal setting should be a good mix of the daily activities you are keeping and the daily actions geared towards achieving your goal(s). These daily actions should take the bulk of your time(where possible) and should be given top priority (thing(s) that must be done even when you didn't carry out other activities) in the day.

With things better defined through goal setting , it is easier to step out , take actions , and stay motivated geared towards the actualization of your dream.

Motivational: What Are You Doing Now?

I really don't like being monitored or checked on. But I learnt though I may not like it (you may not quite enjoy what is right for you) it helps to keep me on track . There is something about relaxing on your guards ; it gives room for a false hope and a subtle relaxing on your drive which eventually denies you the intended accomplishment of your set goals.

We are two months into the year. I was wondering how has it been with your new year resolution. I believe you made one at least if you have been reading my articles especially the one on new year resolution. It might not necessarily be about quiting some habits or starting something new (that will be wonderful) ,something as seemingly insignificant as having a nudge in your mind for a change is a good start which I believe this article will help.

I made up my mind at the beginning of the year to start waking up much earlier in the morning - two hours earlier . This was necessary because I released that I am more productive in the morning hours with less distractions, therefore I need to do it to meet up with my daily action plans. More productive hours was very necessary to my achieving my year's goal. Achieving this also requires that I take break from work and rest at the right time in the day. I have to keep check on myself on this resolution and I found this article-The ultimate guide to motivation useful. I had to squeeze out time to attend to it despite my tight work schedules . I was hard pressed with time . Sometimes it could be so difficult to have full four hours for my business in a day . It was that difficult. Sometimes, I was just too fagged out to look at the computer or even write . I had to fight for my dream . I wanted to quit my day job . I wanted to run my own business. I needed to put somethings in place then quit. So for that to be done , I had to drag myself along despite the odds . I tried to make out time in between my tight schedules . I knew I had to work things out so as to quit and this just have to be done . It is not easy but who says it is impossible .
Sometimes, I was emotionally , mentally and physically drained out after my day's schedules but I got to fight and be strong to achieve this dream . I had to work on it in season and out of season, when I feel like it and when I don't feel so.

I once had an attack of an illness that plagued me for long .When I got to know the word of God concerning my healing and divine health , I knew that I had to be strong for myself to be free of the sickness.
I have a friend who was at a time fighting drinking and smoking habits. He once told me that if he doesn't smoke , it feels like the food he ate had not digested. I had to make him see that he has to fight that stronghold that is holding on his mind that has conditioned his body's digestive system. I told him he has to be strong to be free from those habits.
I have another friend who was once fighting alcoholism . It was really serious. He said that it a means of easing off tension. I got him to see reasons why he had to be strong against that lie that had gotten deep into his mind that alcoholism is used to ease off tension . There are quite a number of effective and health ways to ease off tension . The one I have found very efficacious is the mediating upon the love and promises of God as I sing His praises.

Being strong for yourself is not like trying to surmount an uphill which you can win or loss. I always remember the word of God that says that we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us . This is a fight -a good fight of faith. I know that God is watching His word to see it fulfilled. So I refused to fret for I knew then that I am already victorious. You have to master the ups and downs of emotions , circumstances , situations and make up your mind to continue to pick yourself up and continue on your path. I saw that some of the set goals have been accomplished while some of them were never started despite my passion and plans. This got me wondering. Deep down in my spirit, I knew why –My dear, you have to take a leap of faith to start on them. Waiting for a wonder day that something will happen that will assure you that your plans will be successful is only a mirage. I had to face the hard fact that I was wasting time and that my dream was waiting for me. As you make it a habit to say "yes" to things especially things outside your comfort zone ,you are undoubtedly learning and developing the ability to say "yes" to your dream.
I like this article on the power of saying 'Yes'- The Power of Yes, a Simple Way to Get More Out of Life. Destabilizing issues like traumatic financial crunch, emotional trauma, health issues, relationship crisis, business crisis. Some may not be that traumatic but still have their negative effects of causing you a prolonged low spirit and dissipation of inner strength. So what do you do in such situation? Break down, wallow in emotional downwards drift, give up on your relationship or allow nervous breakdown?

Somethings you have to know:

a. Life issues revolve about an axis

b. What you get out of a situation depends on how this axis interacts and handles that situation.

c. The mind is this axis

d. How the mind is informed and subsequently handles issues placed before it has a lot to do with your stability in that area of your life.

The battle is in the mind. That is where the issues of life are settled. There is always these warring worlds of thoughts in your mind, one trying to make you feel all is lost because your pockets are empty and there seem to be no help in sight or your business is having a serious shaking while the other is encouraging you to hold on against all odds that it will all work out fine. Warring thoughts on your relationship, one fuelling the anger, pain, arrogance, rigidity, skepticism, spite, stand-off, self centeredness ,negative criticism, while the other is encouraging you to forgive, reach out, accommodate, overlook, believe, trust and be flexible.
The thought that has the upper hand becomes the mindset that determines how that issue of life is settled.

Transforming your mind to be well informed to handle any issue is invariably the most important investment in your life. No matter the actions you are taking to achieve your goals in life or the status you have attained or your achievements, if there is no serious conscious effort to invest in your mind, you may find out that you are not well positioned to sustain any effort or any material possessions amassed. When the issues of life come challenging you and the battles of life stir at your face, you will need all the fire-power you can muster to knock down those damaging thoughts which undoubtedly led to a stronghold on your mind. You have to renew your mind with the Word of God. Get it digested into your spirit so as to form your mindset. Also get interested in informative materials that will improve your mind, so that when the trying time come and the warring thoughts try to daze your mind , you will know the thought that is a lie which should be pulled down. If you're described as the former, you better get working on becoming the latter because it is determination that is most likely to make the difference in whether you succeed in your business or not. Persistence is that driving force within you which pushes you to keep on going and going (like the Energizer bunny) until a goal is reached. If you choose and ultimately decide not to give up at all no matter what challenges life may throw at you, there is really no limit to whatever you could accomplish.

So if you are really that serious about running your own business and have come up with a feasible strategy and a plan on how to get started, then you already know and anticipate that you would have to face numerous obstacles on your way to success. And one of the most essential tools you need to possess and adopt in order to conquer these obstacles is persistence.

You definitely have to utilize that persistence if you want and aspire to have a successful business venture. To be truly persistent, you should be actively determined and striving to attain a desired outcome; you can't just be trudging along.
Blindly feeling around for an answer is not likely to help and do not really deserve to be called persistence. Therefore, don't make the mistake of thinking that being persistent is just blundering carelessly in the midst of unfavorable situations.

Consider that often the most effective and efficient way to crack and solve any problem is to keep coming back to it from varied perspectives until you're able to find a solution for it. It is your persistence that would keep you going on your day to day activities while you build up and develop your customer and client base and start to earn enough income to support yourself and eventually your family.

A secret to this style of being persistent is to set and plan detailed goals of precisely what you want to achieve at various points in the future. The more specific a picture you could create and conceive in your mind of what you truly want, the better. By keeping your thoughts concentrated on what you desire to accomplish, and then by doing whatever it takes to get there every day, you keep yourself working towards what you truly aim for. Problem solving is not the only way persistence can assist you in business. Most new businesses take a long time to become stable and profitable and yours would likely be not an exception.

Begin to recognize the fact that very few things as invaluable as a highly successful and profitable business venture will never come your way without great effort, determination in the face of adversity, enormous sacrifice and the capacity to solve the innumerable hardships you face. Now this is the very definition of persistence.

The author of this article Amy Twain is a Self Improvement Coach who has been successfully coaching and guiding clients for many years. Self is that part of you usually referred to as nature . That is your natural tendencies that make you behave in a particular way , act in a particular way and think in a particular way. Self resists change because it is at home with a particular pattern of living and overwhelmed by the unknown. Self is frightened by renovation, because it feels threatened adopting what it might not like. But these natural tendencies might be enemies to your dream .

Your spirit , the 'inner you', is always in affirmation .There is always the 'we can do it mentality' in your spirit. But the self is often reluctant to agree and slow to take on the unknown or the daring . Your spirit which is your 'inside hero' is always willing to change , to fly , to be anything it desires to be . But self starts asking questions about the how, the where and the who . Sooner or later a weak spirit surrenders and begins to analyse and find reasons why things can't be done or why you shouldn't be too ambitious. Your spirit should gain mastery over self .

You conquer yourself by making sure this 'inner you' is health and in charge. Your spirit becomes healthy when it is well mastered. You achieve this by feeding it right . Feed your spirit with the best food-the word of God. Feed it with positive , inspiring information. As it stays in these right information , your faith is built up to believe in yourself, your dream and stand up to the challenges of life . Then will the 'inner you', 'the hero in you', become your strong companion in life. It has continued through my life. When I was a kid, I remember, my parents do ask us to make a new year resolution and encouraged us to stick to it .I remember ,I would say something as my new year resolution. At least, that was expected of an obedient , normal child. I can't remember any of the resolutions sticking deep enough to be remembered after the first day of saying it .It was like that for me and most likely for most people .
Some maybe more resolute and keep to them for a bit longer but most often they get swept away from their minds with the passage of events as the year gets older . Maybe it is the wishy- washy way it is being handled that brought about the non seriousness attached to it . But is there really anything as NEW YEAR RESOLUTION?

Is the phrase wrong ? Or is it the attitude towards it ?I believe when people talk about new year resolution they mean that there is one or two issues in their lives which they think is not so right and now they are stating their intention to turn new leaves. Nice thought . Then why don't people get to do much with it? Maybe is that of understanding , believing, defining and actioning .

1. Understanding : You got to understand that wrong habits are deeper than we think. There is a spiritual dimension to it that has to be reckoned with . The ability to live right comes from God . No wonder the bible says in John 1:12,'To all who received Him,who believed in His name ,He gave the power to become the children of God' ,and Romans 3:22, 'The righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.... .' When you accept Christ into your life . There is an enablement to live right before God . It is a gift . It is called the gift of righteousness. With this enablement you can step out in faith.

2. Believing: This understanding brings the need to believe God's gift and accept it . You accept it by believing it .

3. Defining Your Expectation: You got to analyse the different areas of your life and categorise them according to your expectation. You may categories the different areas you want an improvement as:spiritual life ;emotional life ;physical life ;career life ;relationships.
Spiritual development comes through fellowship with God. You reach your highest overall development in fellowship with God . Why? For all the strength and power needed to put all other areas of your life right come from your spirit. Your spiritual development grows with your relationship with God .You probably need development in this area of your life . Your best companion will be your bible. Get to know God's word for your life and trust Him to lead you right. Are you fearful , insecure , angry and anxious ? Whichever area your emotion is running you down. Are there some habits you think need to be changed? Are there areas in your relationship with others you need to work on?

4. Actioning : Now you have defined the different areas you need improvement. Then set goals and break those goals into actionable parts. For example, you want an improvement in your finance, then start by stating how much you want to realise . Then set in place action plans to achieve this goal.It may require getting a new job, starting a business, attending courses for better qualification.Whatever it may take, let it be understandable , actionable , time-bound .
You may need a better control of your emotions. Maybe you are irritable . Define what you think causes the irritation . It could be that you find it hard tolerating others and flay up when things don't agree with you. Then start working on your temper . When people say or do what you will ordinarily get offended with, practise keeping quite until you are quietened on the inside( not easy but you can do it ). Try taking one word at a time , don't rush it . Be determined to talk nicely when all your nerves are screaming for a shout. Continue to practise this and trust God for the strength to live right.

Maybe you need an improvement in your academics . How much of your time is wasted moving from post to post ,living a lie , an illusion of working hard , running after lecturers to help with one course or the other, and looking for one student to teach you one thing or the other? How much of your time do you actually sit down and really study? Moving up and down is much easier than sitting down and studying . You have to plan your time. Define the time for all your activities. Give yourself sufficient time to study.
If it is in your career that you need improvement; what about going for a course to be better positioned? Define the time for your registration and duration of the course and get on with it . Let this year's New Year Resolution be the one that will bring the transformation you so desire.
Be inspired.

What Are You Feeding Your Mind?

Recently I heard someone say that what we feed our minds is just as important as what we feed our bodies. I really believe that to be true. The people we spend time with, the books we read, and the things we listen to can help move us forward or move us backward.

I don't listen to the news much, because it is almost entirely negative. The economy dominates news stories, and it's all about fear and lack. Jobs lost, businesses going bankrupt, etc. The stock market is being run on fear.
That doesn't mean I am unaware of what is going on. The economy very well may get worse, especially as people are afraid to spend, afraid of losing their jobs, and not taking measures to secure their financial future.
If you listen to or read any success coaches such as Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield and many others, one thing they all emphasize is the importance of personal development. They teach it is vital to feed the mind regularly with good books and CDs. I think if people as successful as they are do this on a daily basis, how much more should everyone else?

We do live in a negative world. It's been that way as long as I remember, and I don't see things changing any time soon. For that reason we need to discipline ourselves to make reading or listening to CDs a regular habit. Even 20 minutes a day can make a difference, of course the more the better.

It's also important to guard ourselves from negative people, at least as much as we can. If you have goals and dreams, people with negative opinions may try and drag you down. Surrounding yourself with encouraging and sharp people will help guard you against this.
We can be and do anything we desire, with discipline, belief and action. And it all starts with what is in our minds.
Joanne has a successful home based business at http://joanneott.com
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joanne_Ott

Motivational: What Do You Stand For?

You cannot be an eagle and a chicken at the same time. You got to have a specific identity. You can't be all things at the same time. You must have a brand . Something you are associated with. That is your stuff. Everyday you live , you are branding yourself .

Are you a complaining or a believing one ? Are you an "Oliver Twist asks for more" or a generous and sacrificing type? Are you a person of character or the type for whom anything goes? Most people don't realise that what they can achieve in life and how far they can go are defined by their brands. A man who believes in cutting corners and making money through any means should not expect honour. You cannot occupy a place of honour in the minds of people . Some may use your money but they know where you truly belong. You cannot engage in dubious activities and expect people not to frown and rate you low. How can you stand and realise your dream when you are so negative? Your words and your thoughts of yourself are easily located at negative corners. The chicken little in you is ever running amok. How can you build a true value which every true dream is all about when you find it hard to give and sacrifice? The greed in you is ever seeking ways to manoeuvre and manipulate people.

Check out great achievers, they are able to build brands of themselves that reflect a good mix of the right characters . It is a mind thing. I did not understand then. But with time , I began to appreciate what those statements mean.

You need some groceries and off you walk down to a nearby grocery store and exchange the money in your pocket for the values you need –the groceries. Money has its own path of movement. Money chases value. Once you catch this idea you will begin to appreciate and appropriate money rightly. You will appreciate that having money work for you is far more advantageous and valuable than working for money. Money working for you or money chasing you is a state whereby by the virtue of value you have created of yourself, your products or services, money find itself coming through your door. Wisdom is better than wealth. Why? Because wisdom gets you money and sustains the wealth.

That most people shy away from the idea of money working for them don’t diminish the fact that it's of higher status than chasing after money. There is a power needed to attract money and wealth. The Bible says, “Remember the Lord Your God, for it is He who gives you the ability (power) to produce wealth”(Deuteronomy 8:12). In every field of human endeavors, people who are able to create values and package them well enough to attract the attention of people will always have a field-day in the issues of money and wealth. You may ask, “can money work for me?” Yes, there is a uniqueness about you that will create a space for you. You can start on it without fright. You can create a "magnetic field" around you that draws money to you through the application of your mind to wisdom. Harness your God-given ability to create value that draws money to you.

Motivational: Six(6) Steps To Keep Focused On Your Goals

One of the biggest challenges to achieving set goals and realizing your dream is staying focused. This entails doing all you should do and in time too as regards achieving this set goals. This can be challenging especially when things are still picking up and not yet smooth. These steps will keep you well positioned to be focused.

1. Get to know your distractions: There are things that are best known as distractions as far as your dream is concerned. These may be friends, hangouts, habits that have to become past tense. Some of these distractions are not easily detected because they look so rosy and right. I had to cut off the habit of visiting some sites on the internet. I love some informative sites that talk on peoples’ achievements (sounds good) but I found out that at the end of the day I don’t get to do what I intended to do for myself. I have to handle that yearning and maximize my time on internet.

2. Handle these distractions as required: Each distraction has a way of handling it. Don’t just start hitting on everything. If you spend so much time reading soft magazines then you need to divert that inclination to reading something more helpful to the realization of my dream (not easy but can be done).

3. Set Priorities: I found this to be difficult to most people not because it is altogether so hard but because most people feel they know it enough and don’t bother to really think about it. But the fact remains that what you may make your priorities might not necessarily be the right things as regards achieving your set goals. You must critically analyze and define your activities in relation to your goals. Often time most of your day’s activities are not for you if that dream is going to be realized. It might even be as serious as having to change your daytime job because it is taking so much time and causing you to achieve so little as regards your goals.

4. Do the right thing for now: This one is a bit tricky. You just know this should be the priority now but because it seems hard and you don’t easily get on with it. You keep postponing it. But that does not change the fact that this is a priority for now and you have to do the right thing for now.

5. Keep a check on your emotions: I found out that there are people who are a nag on me. Being a sensitive person, I have this inclination of trying to make people around me comfortable to the best of my ability. But there are people who you can hardly satisfy. They just must find fault and they weigh on you emotionally. I try to reasonably avoid such occasions. Check on things that weigh on you for you need your emotional stability.

6. Realize that it is a discipline and takes disciplining yourself: Most people don’t like the word discipline .It sounds too harsh and demands on their natural inclinations. But the fact remains that you can’t achieve much as regards any dream without exercising some discipline.

How To Overcome a Lifetime of Conditioning

Are you currently in the habit of experiencing unwanted events in your life over and over again? When we experience unwanted events over and over in life we can feel like a victim of circumstance, becoming annoyed at the injustice of life.

Little do most realize that these seemingly random events or obstacles stem from a lifetime of conditioned beliefs. Beliefs that run on auto-pilot in the background of our lives, producing fear and doubt.

Fears that often get us stuck in a lifetime of trying to overcome obstacles, creating a victim mentality. When we experience the very obstacles we are trying to avoid, we use this as a justification for our fear in the first place, because a fearful mind looks for what is wrong.
Occasionally being stuck in a rut is natural but there has to be a point when enough is enough. If you've been doing a lot of talking, it's time to start the action part. Become active in your vision of a better life.
So how do you overcome a lifetime of conditioning?

First and foremost we need to question the validity of our fears. Stop and look for what is right about the situation, instead of wrong. There is a definite need to move from focus on the unwanted events to finding and making the solution our focal point.

Next, it's time to replace old beliefs and create real change. The best way to surrender the comfort of a lifetime of old fearful conditioned beliefs is to establish a new trust; a trust in yourself to create and direct pleasant events and solutions into your life. The same trust and confidence that you have, that your name is --, that you weigh --, that your height is --, and that you live at --.
So how do you create trust and confidence?
We will use this 100 percent surety that you are who you believe you are and sit in front of a large mirror.
In front of your mirror repeat each of these statements 3 times:
a. I am (insert your name) and I love myself.

 b. I am god and I love myself.

 c. I and God are one and I love myself.

d.All is well and I am safe.

It does not matter whether you laugh or cry, just develop this into a habit. Surrender to the good that is inside you. Habitually expecting trust and confidence in the goodness of life produces trust and confidence in the goodness of life. Any chronic negative beliefs stem from a lifetime of belief in fear or lack thereby creating unwanted events and obstacles over and over again, which only offer solidifying reinforcement in the original belief.
Does this mean that nothing unpleasant will ever happen?
Of course not, it means that nothing happens to make us feel afraid.
We come to see the validity in creating good feeling and beliefs for ourselves.
James Allen may have said it best, "People are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves. They therefore remain bound."

Become part of something that is sweeping the world with inspiration.
