Fashionista has wanted a puppy forever.
A couple of days after her birthday we got Bella (that's her real name...I am living dangerously now)

A typical morning: Fashionista loves to sleep with about 10 blankets.
Bella pokes her head out, ready for the day.

Awww. I know!

Wookie doesn't like to share his toys with her.
She doesn't care.

The nicest thing about having teenagers is that she's 100% taking care of raising Bella.
I merely baby sit when she goes out but the rest is up to Fashionista. And Bella knows this.

Fashionista left for a few minutes and the baby decided to make herself more comfortable

Stats: Bella is about 2.5 lbs. She's a 2 month old Cairn/West Highland terrier mix.

I haven't posted anything I can be proud of for a while, even though I have dozens of drafts, hundreds of (super) funny pictures and my brain is full of wacky stuff.
So here it is, a random post. Who knows, maybe this will jettison this blog's Blogstipation.

-As you all should know by now, I am not a cook and I am most definitely NOT a crafter, yet I am subscribed to feed on 16 recipe blogs, 6 recipe emails and 8 craft blogs. Right this very moment I have 25 tabs open, 8 of them are recipes.
What is wrong with me?!

-One of my drafts was titled "Summer Accomplishments" in which I listed:
"1) I ran 11 miles
2) ~~I got my spices organized~~ Nope! Bought the jars, made my spice list and all that, now I only need to finish.
3) I submitted a cake wreck."

To summarize: I listed 3 summer "accomplishment" one of them was not actually accomplished and the other one was a failure because I never even got mentioned in CakeWrecks.

-I saw this at the gas station.

See my nails??

-I saw this sign in Portland. The part that fascinates me is why/how could they leave "Tools" intact but mess up all the rest?

-I am not sure I like this blog template but I am not going to change it either.
Bah.

-At one point I was looking for a puppy online*. I felt so bad for the people trying to sell this ones:

"Where Did You Go?"

I really don't like change, it's uncomfortable and unsettling.

And now some things that may/may not interest you:

-I met a new friend this summer not related to church or blogging, which makes me proud of myself because it must mean I am not as IRL-anti-social as I thought.

-Firstborn left last week for Fort Benning, GA for basic training. We won't see him until Christmas break.
I can't believe he's that old and that I am this ancient.

-Fashionista is a junior this school year. She's getting a puppy as soon as she finishes one more class...Why did I ever agree to that?

-I like to go sit somewhere and just read my ebooks in peace and quiet.

-We had a kitten for 3 days. Then I almost died because of my allergies and we decided I was more valuable alive which meant adios to the cute cat.

-You know how I said I would not use my phone to take pictures anymore because they come out crappy? I really really promise this time.

-We have two sitting areas in our living room (we are that fancy!) Only Wookie has take possession of my one couch. This is where you'll find him most of the time:

I was still using an old time template version. I subscribe this school of thought: If something ain't broken why fix it, so I stuck with my old template for years, until it broke.
Yes it broke and now I have to try new and unfamiliar watchamadoodles! When I was a young blogger we didn't have all these fancy widgets and stuff! Things are still wonky and will be like that until I feel like fixing them.

Anyway. I can't find anything better than Gary. He has brought me such silliness in the past few days, it's hard to find anything awesomer than him.

Handmade ground beef patties,
top with sharp cheddar cheese,

If the zoo has a manatee (or a walrus) I usually RUN to see it. If not, like the Oregon zoo, then the bats, I love bats.
I avoid the reptile exhibit...it's so boring and uncute.

Yes to kill (don't tell my son, he'd be disappointed). Why? Because I'm a girl, and I go "ewwww" while I scream, jump around and hit it with a flip flop.

That means going out and doing outdoorsy things.

Stuff I'm doing:

Firstly, My kids are always concerned about how brown we are or are not. As soon as the sun came out this week we have all tried to spend some quality time with Tonatiuh.

Nextly, Nikko had this great idea to organize her spice rack and of course I'm copying her! So I'll be doing that, wish me luck.

Lastly, we're going to the beach for a couple of days, yay. That means no cooking YAY.

Talking about cooking: I haven't cooked in my fancy shmancy kitchen yet (save it when I made that tuna casserole because everyone was sooooo hungry, pfft) and I have been thinking that My sister has the best pancake recipe ever and Aubrey's world famous waffles have no rival.
Maybe, just maybe, this week I'll get creative and make us some of those.

Here's what I thought: We all want to take a break and stuff, how about you ask me some questions and I'll do my best to answer them next time.

On a side note, I'm realizing my archive/labeling system sucks, this is the only post I could find with Q&As. You know, for reference?

I had several ideas about super fun posts to write.
But then as I attempted to put them together, reality set in: They all stink.

I'm just dumping them now, raw and unpolished. It's summer and that's just how it is.

Ladies you know what that means: Swimsuits.

Finding a good swimsuit is 100x worse than finding a good pair of jeans.
I know a few of you have mentioned the dreaded task of shopping for a suit.

As you know, oh faithful readers, I love shopping. Not the case with summer apparel. I HATE it.
Fashionista and I went to get some sun on Sunday, that's when I realized I've had the same old boring yucky suit for the last 8 years.

It was ugly, trust me

UGH! Find me a swimsuit that makes my thighs look and my waist smaller.
I want to look like a swim suit model.
I want to cover all the problem areas.
I feel almost naked out there and I wish I could just wear a tent and call it good.

The good news is that we walked into a store and 15 minutes later I came out whit an ok swimsuit.
So yay me.
