Weeklyish Patch 25 – Tap Sequence

Tap Sequence lets you program a list of notes, then trigger each one sequentially each time the rack receives any MIDI note. This lets you, for example, play full melodies with a single drum pad, adding natural variation and timing. It also uses the Scale plug-in for easy melody transposition.

Let’s Break The Silence

It’s been really quiet around here, but it doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Au contraire, things have been quite busy underground getting the foundation for the album done. Yes, that means the first Monosylabik album is coming, and it’s going in quite a different direction than the music I’ve done in the past.

Working on an album on your own is really hard as stuff moves much slower than with a band because you’re wearing everyone’s hat. Also, there’s the constant struggle with the urge to show your work as soon as you feel you’ve accomplished something. I’m awful at that one, so here’s a little experiment: If you can’t fight it, join it.

These are preview versions of some tracks I’ve been working on since January. They’re not finished yet, but are now at a point where they represent very well where I’m trying to go with this album. Please spare a few minutes, take a listen and maybe post whatever is on your mind. What you like, what you don’t so much, your feedback will be really helpful to shape the album.

This is the rack the robots will use to talk through (along with some vocoding) while tearing through earth once Skynet becomes self aware.

Formant Shift0r splits the incoming signal into 4 bands, then allows for independent pitch shifting of each. It comes in 2 flavors:

Parallel – allows for independent pitch shifting of each band.
In-line – pitch shifts each band relative to the previous band’s setting.

Weeklyish Patch 18 – M-S Encoder/Decoder

It’s been a while since I uploaded a new live rack, but I guess that’s why it’s called “weeklyish”.

This time I’ve built a M-S encoder and decoder. What it does is take a stereo signal, which is encoded in Left and Right channels, and encode it as Mid and Side allowing for separate processing of each and preventing some phase problems that can occur when processing a stereo signal.
