Zac Sunderland Makes It Around the World

Its unbelievable and yet surreal to see about Zac Sunderland completing his circumnavigation trip around the world. If you didn't know I blogged about it here on MMT back in May of last year. Its great to here you made it Zac. I was also fortune it enough to speak to Marianne Sunderland (Zac's Mom) about her son's journey and also have discussions about zac's online presence briefly but I can see that they took care of that pretty well on their own. Google Keyword Tip

I just thought I'd throw this out there for the total n00bs who are thinking about getting into AdWords PPC. One of the things you have to consider when formulating your strategy is the competitive environment in which you are going to be playing.

So, how do you know how competitive things are going to be for your given keywords? Google gives you an indication ("advertiser competition") when you create the campaign, but what about before that step? What if you want to just test the waters and see how heavy the compeition is going to be (read: potentially expensive) for just a couple of your considered keywords? You could simply put them in Google, and keep track of which Adwords ads show up, and then refresh, and refresh, and... hope that Google gives you the "More sponsored links" link. Or you could just do this:

with your keyword where the keyword here is.

This will give you a listing of all the ads that are running for that keyword (adcopy research anyone?) and give you a count of just how many ads are bidding. This, of course, is where "More sponsored links" takes you to... but why not go direct?

I am sure if I signed up for his program I may get a lot out of it but I really don't have the cash to do his program which starts at about 5k a month for a person to person coaching session but his reputation as a super affiliate is out there.

Now what does that guru video on the top of this post have to do with affiliate marketing mentoring?? Absolutely nothing!! I just got a kick out of watching the guy and thought I would throw that in cause I am a big believer in the power of intention and I think that a lot of people want to know how to make money online. The term "guru" is thrown out so much that I thought I could bring attention to it. Whatever you decide to do to learn affiliate marketing, just remember there is a cost, whether you learn it on your own it will cost you time or whether you hire someone to show you how to do it, that will cost you money but both methods you can definitely learn from.

Project Wonderful advertising alternative to adsense

A couple of days ago I was introduced to Project Wonderful from cantgetrich.com. I liked the advice that was given on the site on how to proceed to get traffic to site from alex so I figured I would sign up and give it a try. Well, overconfidence me got a nice little note from them saying,

I guess it appears that in their eyes that my blog sucks!. I pretty much know what I have to do to change it but I barely have time to make those changes at the moment. I thought I would share my rejection to the world. I still plan on using the service cause for one, I like the name and two it just looks interesting to use. So if any souls out there are reading this, let me know what I should do to improve on this blog. Now, if you say get a unique domain name, I already have that in the works.

A couple of days ago I was reading Zac (ASSHAT) Johnsons website in regards to him offering a free landing paging on his blog so that newbies can get a jumpstart on their affiliate marketing. Well, it turns out that the guy stole the actual landing page from an unsuspected fellow affiate marketer and claimed it to be his own design.
The breaking news came to me via Nickycakes blog which explains the full details on how this whole fiasco came about. Mind you I normally take bloggers words right off the page to report it on my blog about great offerings from others but after reading Nickycakes blog, which I often do, I would have to say that claiming to own something to be your own is pretty awful if not just downright disgusting. So in response to this kind of tactic.
So to conclude this post I crown Zac Johnson as official ASSHAT of the day.!

The higher cost of living is the absolute reason why you should get into now. And the three basic tools that you need are:

1. Internet Hosting with a domain name that will reflect the market you want to promote. You can start on a free blogger service like blogger and make sure that you select one topic and continously write about it. Example: HDTV's

2. Affiliate Network to work with is going to be your inventory to stock on your website so start now and sign up for the networks you feel can do you good. Make sure that the affiliate has the products you want and always ask for a good converting product. CXdigital media is great place to start.

3. Sales copy, yes selling the products you want to sell is key to making money in affilaite marketing. If you can't sell it, you won't make money. If you want to see some great sales copy go visit Gary Halberts site and get familiar with the archives .

Zac Sunderland is a courageous young man of 16 years of age who is about to sail across the world alone in about 3 days. If he completes his journey, he will be the youngest man ever to circumnavigate the globe by yacht and breaking the world record as the youngest to do so.
This is a truly an amazing task considering the enormous responsibility and danger that is ahead of him all I can say is "Godspeed!"
You're probably asking: "What doesn this have to do with affiliate marketing? Well, consider that if this young man has a blog, He definitely will have a following wanting to know how he is doing on his trip and with this being the internet age, there is definitely an opportunity to grasp. I left a comment on his blog the other day volunteering my services on what they needed to do to create an income on the blog. Thats if if he keeps it up to date with his were abouts, I would consider the following:

1. Convert the entire site to a blog, self hosted and use Wordpress as the main software of choice. Those who know the software can see the advantages to this besides the ease of use and available space needed to sell advertising or affiliate ads.

2. Keep readers in the know by posting regularly, its not often that people sail around the world and have the ability to let the world wide web know about it.

3. As the trip nears its end and is close to completing the journey, start selling ad space on the site at a higher rate. People would genuinely be interested in knowing how close he is to completing the journey and there would be more traffic to the site.

Zac is in for an extraordinary journey and I do wish him the best. If anyone reads this post and has more ideas on this, I would appreciate to hear about it.

The two top forums on the internet today that sole purpose is to either enlighten or deceive one on internet affiliate marketing have to be wickedfire and digitalpoint. These forums are both fully packed with internet marketing information. One cannot take the information from these forums for granted because you can loose your money and sometimes your ego when participating. I will now proceed to explain my experiences with both.

Wickedfire.com
Wickedfire.com is the forum were all the affiliate marketing jocks hangout. The moment you participate in having your questions answered it is immediately scrutinized. Especially if you're a noobie. If you're such a animal you will be torn into shreds by the likes of Nickycakes and Shady SEO.
The preferred conduct by many of the regulars in this forum is that they would like it that you use the search feature to look for the information first

before asking for any advice. Don't even bother in asking for free advice or worse yet, how you made your first affiliate commissions cause your just asking to be ripped up. I do believe that this forums has to be the best out of all the forums on the subject so a little beating from these guys is ok by me. If I come out wiser from it, I will take the beating any day.

If wickedfire is were all the jocks hang out then digitalpoint is were all the freshman to affiliate marketing get their first experience on this type of online social enviroment. This place has as much as over 2k visitors per day asking advice on all subjects internet marketing. I read posts on people losing their money all the time from this forum, but it is a great place to introduce yourself as a internet marekting specialist and to introduce your products to the masses if your serious about getting your reputation going. The noobie ratio on this forum is much greater than experienced marketers so if your experienced and want to make some money, that would be the place to start.

There you have it, two forums that have all the information you will ever need to know about internet marketing and creating an online business but with a different set of rules to follow. My thoughts are this, if I want to be the best affiliate marketer on the internet, then I have to hang out were the good ones are. Success is the company you seek.
