I cannot decide whether email promoting is something that most people dislike or just tolerate, I mean there are those really annoying emails that we get everyday from the same companies or individuals, but thankfully our junk folder collects most of them and this makes it easy to get rid of them, but what about if you join a list.

It Is Your Decision

You see those junk emails we did not ask for, so my junk folder just gets deleted every morning, a simple click and they are all gone, but my inbox does get many emails on a daily basis, some from people reading my blog and emailing me rather than leaving a comment, which is fine, but most of them are from the marketers who’s lists I have subscribed to and that is all so fine, after all I made the decision to subscribe to them and as I said in Promote This, if I do not like what I receive I can unsubscribe.

All Chasing the same

Well in the same post mentioned above, I also wrote about many of the lists that I am on, sending me emails promoting the same programs or products, which is fine, now I could just take those and send them to my own list promoting the same thing. The problem is I cannot try all the programs and products that are out there on the Internet Marketing merry go round, so I cannot vouch for how good they are and whether they are worth the money being asked for them.

I got An Email

After that post I got an email saying thank you for giving the information on the product that I had been emailed about by the other marketers. I had shared the product on this blog that had been promoted to me by emails from several big names in Internet Marketing. I was pleased about this result as I had helped someone to find what they were looking for and may have missed out on because they were not on the same lists as I am subscribed to, which makes it worth while being on these lists and keeping up with what these guys are doing online.

So What’s New

I decided to share again, I have had over the last two days several emails from different Internet Marketers promoting two different Internet products, So I thought rather than email my own list, mainly because I do not know enough about these products, I would just hook them up here and let you make your own decision. I will just say again, I have not tried these products, so do not know how good they are, I am just sharing here what seems to be the new thing in the last few days that many marketers are promoting. So here goes, you decide on their worth.

Number 1 Promotion

Rapid Mass Traffic: This is about a 3 step process that will sky rocket a websites traffic, sounds good, it does not rely on Google or Bing and Yahoo, which it says only accounts for 20% of all the traffic online, sounds very interesting. The price of this product is not what I expected, I thought it would be very expensive because as we know a site without traffic will not make any money at all, so if you can sky rocket your traffic with this product then you may expect it to be very expensive.

I have no verdict on this product, I have not tried it, so I cannot say to you rush and buy it. I would at least read the whole page that details exactly what you get from this product, but it is your decision as to whether you invest in it or not.

Number 2 Promotion

Blogging To The Bank 2010:  You have probably heard of this program before, it has been around for a while now and it comes from Rob Benwell. I have never tried this program in its old form or this obviously new updated form, but there are many that say it is full of great content and has helped them make their way online. Again I will not go into detail, only to say again that the price is very conservative, you can read all the details on the page that I will provide a link to. There are a lot of testimonials on that page from obvious satisfied customers and other marketers, there may even be a few names that you recognise.

I must admit, this is a product that I have thought about trying in the past, but I have not had time to commit to it as yet, but please don’t let that sway your decision, I have not tried it yet, so I have no grounds to praise it or otherwise, so the decision is purely yours to make.

I know I have said it before and I will most probably say it again and again, but there is a reason, it is so very important to grasp the inner self and make it work for you and then you can start to make things happen and you will see the miracles. It is not a gimmick, it is real, very very real and you can make use of it, if only you will believe it.

I guess you know what I am talking about by now, your mind, my mind, our minds, they are amazing and they can change our whole life, just by using them in the right way. This does not just apply to Internet marketing, but to all things in life. We are capable of changing all the things that we are not happy with in our lives.

Make The Change

You see our minds are like a powerful magnet and they attract what ever beholds their attention. Imagine that you had a magic computerized magnet and you could program that magnet to attract whatever you wanted, most people would program it to attract money and then hit the start button and like magic the magnet would start to attract the money. Now think again because you already have that magic computerized magnet within your own self and we refer to it as our mind.

What Is Your State Of Mind

Whatever your state of mind is, happens to be what you are programing your magic magnet to attract, so if you are starting out in the Internet marketing business and you have those niggling thoughts of  “I do not really think this will work” or I cannot see me actually making money doing this”, then that is exactly what will happen and let me add that just like any business, there will be setbacks along the way that will only confirm and enhance these thoughts, making the magnet even stronger in bringing you the wrong results.

Change Your State Of Mind

You have to re-program your mind, re-set the magic computerized magnet and feed it the right information. Only know that you will succeed, only believe that you will succeed, only think that you will succeed and even if it does  feel like you are not getting any results, even if those many setbacks seem to be taking you in the opposite direction to success. Do not let that waiver or weaken your belief, do not fall back into limited beliefs, stay strong and believe that you will see the results in time.

Results Will Show Up

You will begin to see results and as those results start to happen, the success will begin to flow quicker, opportunities will be shown before you and you will recognize them easier than you ever did before, life will become easier and the results will multiply.

If you program a computer with the wrong information, it will not give you the results you were looking for, program it right and you will get exactly what you want. The computer is like a mind it was built by a mind, a mind just like yours and the mind is the most powerful computer of them all, feed it with the wrong thoughts and you will get the wrong results. Feed it with the right thoughts of how you want your life to be and you will get the life you want.

Time To Change

You know it is time to change, you know it is time to start feeding your mind the right information and you know that miracles are now possible, because you are the miracle. Make your life easier and feed your mind with the right information and then you will become exactly what you want to be and you will live the life that you really want to live.

There is one major hurdle to cross when making money online and that is traffic. If you have limited website traffic then there will be no money flowing into your accounts, it is as simple as that, no traffic means no money. Yet traffic is the most difficult thing to get, finding ways that actually work is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.There are plenty of techniques that sound great and will bring in some traffic, but not always enough to satisfy the threshold of making money. No matter what anyone says without it you will not make any money. The easy part of Internet marketing is building websites, they don’t take that long to build, they are easy to maintain and without a doubt they are the platform of making money.

The only thing is they cannot make anything if they are not provided with any traffic, they will sit on the web idle if there are no visitors. The million dollar question is how do we get these visitors to come and visit our sites, everyone concentrates on Google and with good reason, they are an obvious influence on getting traffic to a site, but they are not the only search engine.

Some of the techniques that are available to us are, article marketing, social media, blogging, directory submission, commenting on other blogs, search engine optimization techniques and of course many many more. They all work, but do they bring in the life changing traffic or is that just down to luck or do you need to pay for traffic to get the kind of volume to make loads of cash.

You see by doing some of the techniques that are mentioned above you can generate some traffic, but the only problem is that they are time consuming. I have had some good results with article marketing, but it can get very boring and take far to long writing article after article just to get some traffic to your sites. Now if you think I am going to share with you a sure fire easy and quick technique to bring in copious amounts of traffic to your sites, then you would be mistaken.

I would love to be able to do that, but I am still searching myself for that very technique. I am only writing this post because I am as frustrated as the next guy and if I do find that magic technique, then I will be the first to help others with it. So I will carry on my search, there has to be another way and I cannot wait to find it.

I will say that when it comes to blogging, as your blog matures and continues to publish new posts it does tend to gather more momentum and the traffic does naturally rise over time, so if you have a blog just keep plugging away and the traffic will gradually build. It is also advisable to carry on with all the best known techniques to generate traffic as they will do just that, even if it is only a small amount of traffic.

It is an ideal life, right!   To be healthy, wealthy and happy is everything that we all want, it covers all bases. We all want our health, we all want to live a long life and to never suffer any ilness. We all want to be wealthy and live our lives without money worries, being able to buy anything that we want to, when we want to and we all want to be happy. May be if we have our health and we are truly wealthy, then we will be happy.

In the present economic state of the world it may be said that it is hard to be happy, many people are suffering financially and this means they are far from wealthy, because they are unhappy with their finances, this can cause them a lot of stress which in turn will affect their health. So how is it possible to change ones life when it seems to be in a downward turn with no real way of a fix in sight.

Is it all about a state of the mind, is it how we think that can really change our lives, this depends on the individual. There is the law of attraction, that is becoming more and more documented and being made more aware to all who want to listen and take notice. A very popular recent addition to this principle is the movie The Secret, which probably made a huge impact on many peoples lives, there are others that may have watched it and have still made no changes in their lives.

Can it be as easy as changing the way we think, that becomes the real vehicle to changing our lives and living the way we all want to live. The law of attraction is nothing new, it is not something that has just been made up in the last few decades by a few clever individuals that are just out to make money, it has been around for thousands of years and the most shocking thing about this universal law is that every single one of us already use it, every single day of our lives.

The simple basic truth behind the law of attraction is that everyone of us can use it to bring into our lives exactly what we want and it only takes an understanding of this to change what we are bringing into our lives. Although there are different strands to the law as a whole and their are different techniques that have been devised by many different people, lets try and look at the whole thing at a very basic level and just look at what we are thinking everyday of our lives.

Our thoughts are the power behind us as a human beings and how our lives unfold throughout our time here in this world. I have always been fascinated by our minds and how powerful they can be, which is why I have decided to write a few posts about the subject and because I believe that by changing how we think, we can change our fortunes and use the law of attraction the way it is meant to be used, for making our lives enjoyable and fun. You may wonder what this has got to do with making money online, well you may start an online business, but unless you believe it will work, then it probably will not, that is what it has got to do with making money online.

Think about your daily thoughts and what they are concentrated on and then see if they reflect what your life is actually like at this present time. WORKING WITH THE LAW By Raymond Holliwell

Have you ever thought about flipping a website, it can be a way of making good money online. It is something that I have thought about in the past, but not actually taken any action on and there is a reason for that, which I will share with you, but I must admit it is something that I am going to take a closer look at.

If you look at websites on the Internet, they can be seen as real estate, they are virtual real estate. You see they all have a value, whether $1 or $1000,000 they all are worth something and you can build a $1 website into being worth millions if it is really successful. So what is site flipping? well it is like buying a house and the re-selling it for a profit, except you are doing it online and instead of houses it is websites.

Like I said I have thought about this before as a way of making money and it would suit me as I like design. I could build a website, make it look good and then sell it, but the thing that stopped me from doing it was that I did not think that anyone would pay much for a website that was not making any money or had a lot of traffic, which is pretty logical really when you think about it.

But may be I was wrong (I can’t believe that), you see I have seen evidence that this is possible. As you know I am a member of The NicheBlogger and have been for over a year now and it is a great thing to be apart of, it was where I started to make a break through with earning money online. At The NicheBlogger there is a forum that all the members take part in either helping each other or sharing their success stories or keeping other members up to date with their progress online. As you can imagine as members progress and they get new ideas and make them happen, they share this with the other members, it is a good way to promote what they are doing and sell their new products.

This is where I have seen evidence that a website does not have to be making any money or have a lot of traffic to make good money from selling it online, there are two members there that are making money building and selling sites. So this has made me think about taking a second look at whether I should add this as another online income stream. I have a number of sites, some making more than others and there are some that do not make a lot at all, which is kind of down to the fact that they do not get the attention from me that they should do, so to test the water I may put these on the market and see what happens.

If that goes well I might then build a few more as I love this part of the process, I love setting up a new site, so I could set up some new ones and sell them on and this might be a new found income stream. I do not know that much about this subject yet because as I have mentioned I did not think it could be done with sites that were not making money and did not have a lot of traffic, but now I know different I shall find out more.

I plan to come back with a post that shares a more in depth review of this flipping process at a later date, so look out. The Internet, what a wonderful place, it is a huge place for information and a huge platform to make money. There is a massive amount of money that changes hands everyday online and wouldn’t it be nice to have a slice of that cake. So how do we go about making it big online?

There are some people that have started online and made an absolute fortune from an idea that took off and made then miilionaires. How nice that would be, but it is not easy to make it happen. I am sure some of you may have had some ideas of a great website that had you dream of the likes of Google approaching you to sell for millions, I know I have, well we can dream, right.

I did have an idea for a website, but I knew I did not have the technical skills to set it up, so it would have taken a lot of cash to just get it up and running, let alone market it. You may have heard of that little website MoneySuperMarket.Com, which is basically a comparison website, great idea and the founder is a rich man, anyway he set up a side line called The Millionaires Maker.

The idea behind this scheme was to get people like you and me to submit website ideas and if he liked them he would fund the set up and marketing and then if successful take a cut of the income, a great chance for us guys with a great website idea to get up and running. I sent my idea, but they didn’t like it, shame that.

Although it would be nice to be the next big thing online and you never know I may be one day, at least we can still make money online, even if it is not multi millions. So there is nothing wrong with being one of the small guys operating under the radar and being rewarded more than a regular jobs money. If you don’t know yet how this is done on the easiest platform, then it is through blogging.

If you do not know how to get started online, then just start a blog and you are up and running, okay you are not going to be making much money, if any at all, to begin with, but at least you have started and you are online. Once you are online and taking part in this great platform, then you are at least taking action and you can build from there, let me explain this a little further.

Lets just say that you want to enter the world of the Internet to make money, your goal is to be able to leave your job and support yourself and family by working online, of course in the back of your mind is the dream of being rich and why not. So you could spend a few weeks or even months, may be even years, looking for the right opportunity. So while you are searching and probably getting a little frustrated, have you made any progress, have you made any money, no, not a dime.

So what are you going to do, probably carry on looking and may be out of your frustration buy into something that turns out to be a disaster. If you just start a blog, then you are involved on the Internet, it does not have to be what you settle for, unless your blog goes on to earn you a fortune, it can happen. If you at least have a blog, then you are in business and by maintaining that blog, you will gain online experience and this may well lead to you finding the right opportunity. You will get to know other bloggers and you will get to know how to spot bad opportunities and find the good ones, the point is you are involved.

The good thing about doing this is that when you find the opportunity that you want to go for you will be in a better position to take it on as you will have some experience. You would have learned some of the basic techniques that you need to know to work online. Apart from that you may well come up with a great idea and set the seed to become the next big thing online.

There is nothing wrong with starting small and learning the basics, it tends to prepare you for the more complicated journey ahead. So if you want to get involved online, even if you have a great idea but don’t have the resources to make it happen yet, start that blog and build on it, you may find through your blogging efforts the perfect platform for your big idea.

Oh, before I go, if you have got a great idea I am not sure if MoneySuperMarket are still running the millionaire maker scheme or not, but I will go check it out and if they are I will come back and add a link to the page, you never know they might like your idea and if you make it big, just remember who put you onto them, ha only joking, it is always nice to see someone make it big.

There are thousands upon thousands of people looking to make money online and why not, we all know that it is possible, but do we actually know what to look for to avoid being stung for our hard earned cash. The way something is marketed may give us the clue to whether we are going to get value for money or not.In the present economic climate there are plenty of people that have either lost their jobs or are just struggling to live. The result of this is that many people are turning to the Internet to see if they can earn some extra cash or change their lives by making huge amounts of cash. We know it is possible to make money online and we know that there must be some legitimate business opportunities online that will bring in the money, the problem is finding them amongst all the hype.

Lets just clear up a simple fact here, this will help as an outset and cut down many options very quickly. You cannot start a business online and make thousands of dollars overnight, it just will not happen. So this cuts out a lot of nonsense hype straight away, if you land on a site that promises that you can be making loads of money straight away, then click away from it quickly because it is not going to happen. They are designed to get you to part with your money and you will be very lucky if you ever make any yourself, an online business is just that, a business, it has to be built up over time and cannot be instant.

The Bling Marketers, these are those that show you their flash super cars, big mansions, yachts and generally lavish rock star lifestyle, which they manage to maintain on working an hour per day. It is easy to have your head turned and very easy to part with your money. They are showing you something that you may dream of and you can easily get taken in by all the clever hype. But lets ask ourselves one question, their marketing is based on showing off a dream lifestyle, one which most people would love to have and one that is possible to achieve with the right online business. So if this is what they use to sell us on their system or program, then how will we market that to others, after all we have not got the super cars or the mansion or yacht yet, so how will we portray such a lifestyle in our marketing to others if we have not got that lifestyle. It does make you think about whether their own dream lifestyle actually exists.

Flashy super scars, mansions, yachts and in your face proof of earnings have no bearing on whether a system will work for most people in general. I could quiet easily, hire a mansion for a few hours for a photo shoot, hire a few top of the range cars and a yacht and hey presto I am giving anyone the impression that I am a millionaire. I can very easily use some software to manipulate my earnings from any well known affiliate account and show how much money is going into my bank accounts.

There is no need to concentrate on what you have got and promise others that they can have it too, if they part with a large sum of money. Some of these guys spend more time telling people about what they have than the contents of the system they are trying to sell.

There are the super high profile guru’s that market their systems or programs online and in all fairness most of them do sell great systems that will make anyone money online, but the problem is that a lot of these systems are not for the beginners and are hard to get to grips with, also they are very expensive and can be out of most peoples reach. You can end up investing a lot of money and never really getting any where and unfortunately there are many that then give up on their online dream.

So what are the good signs to a real worthy business opportunity online. Basically the opposite of what I have already written, there does not have to be a lot of flashy hype, we would rather know about how the system will help us and a realistic time scale of the results we can typically expect. What we are going to get for our money, are there going to be more things to buy when we sign up and the ultimate is the contact information, is it possible to actually speak to someone on the phone and get some questions answered. A good opportunity will concentrate on the system, giving an in depth description of it and how it is delivered and the type of ongoing training.

Just remember one thing, what relevance is how much someone has got and how much they earn got to do with whether you will benefit from what they are selling, they will probably have or should have a disclaimer saying that just because they make that much money, it is not a typical representation as to whether anyone else can get the same results. Which means that what they are showing in their hype is just that hype and not a typical result, not for me, I don’t know about you.

The biggest and most important step before investing in any system is to research it as much as possible, even if it takes a week or so, it will be worth it and may save you a fortune. Look for honesty and modesty they are out there, you just have to be patient and research until you find them, look for under promise and over delivery.

So true, making money is exciting and when you make it online while sitting at home, what could be better. Not a lot I wouldn’t have thought, still even if you do make money online, you cannot just sit and enjoy, well I suppose you can, but I like to build on my business constantly. I like to find new ways of making money.

I guess I would just get bored with doing the same thing all the time and also I would just be talking about one thing all the time. I like to be able to bring new exciting things to you, so you have a choice of which direction to go in with your online business.

As you know the programs and systems that I recommend on the Make Money Online Tab at the top of this page are all of good quality, because I am a member of most of them or have been before, there are a couple that I have not used, but I know people that have and I  know of that the content of those ones are great.

I do try to look around and test systems that I have not tried before, but have researched and want to find out if they work, this keeps me learning new techniques and from getting bored doing the same thing, it also adds more forms of income. The last one I tried and am still working with is The Niche Profit Classroom, but I have just signed up to a new system. I am waiting for my confirmation that I have been accepted and then I will get to work, this will give me the opportunity to bring another great option to the table for you, that is if it is a good system (it does look very promising and I can’t wait to get started).

Anyway I will get to work on it and when I have had time to get results then I will let you in on it, but I have got to make sure it is worth while first, as soon as I am happy I will be posting my review on it, first to my list and then hear on this site, so keep your eyes peeled for the good news.

I am not actually promoting anything in this post, but more talking about how one system or program seems to get over promoted. Okay may be not over promoted, but more jumped on when it is released or about to be released. You see if you are a top name in Internet marketing and you release a system or program, then you know that it is going to do well

There are some others that also know it is going to do well, the other top names jump on it because they know it will be a hot seller, even if it is not even new content, it does not have to be, it is the name that sells it and I guess that is the privilege that comes with being a top name in this industry.

Remember in the post Write Yourself An Excuse Letter I mentioned the guys that inspired me, well the system I am talking about is one of these guys and the other top names that are promoting it are some of the other names I mention it that post. I had an email this week from the guy whose system it is, saying that it was going live. Within half an hour I had another email from one of the other names promoting that same guys system, ten minutes later I had another email from another of the top names also promoting that same guys system and less than ten minutes later, yes, you guessed another one.

I must admit I did laugh to myself about the frenzy that seemed to be happening and that all these top names were jumping on this system, but my laughter soon stopped as it dawned on me that they were all making a hell of a lot more money than I am making and that may be I should have been promoting this system as well. By now I figured that it was probably to late as I know that the numbers would have been restricted and it would probably sell out pretty quick and it is pointless telling your readers about a great opportunity and pointing them in the right direction, for them to get there and it is sold out. I certainly missed the boat on that one, still it did remind me of another fact, that I thought I would share in this post.

I have mentioned before that some people are slow at giving their email address out, when it comes to signing up for a marketers list, they freeze and I have never understood this because if you don’t like the information you get, you can unsubscribe very easily and you can also set up a dedicated email address just for your subscribing and keep your personal email that you share with friends and family for just that, personal.

I sign up for lots of marketers lists and have found some great information from doing so, if I think it is rubbish, I just unsubscribe. But one thing this does for me is keep me informed of what these marketers are doing, what they are promoting and what they are concentrating on. As in the example above, I know what the top guys are looking at and what they are promoting, okay I might not always be on the ball and be slow to react, but it does give me insight and is one of the ways that I can keep an eye on what other marketers are doing. So don’t rule out subscribing to lists, you never know how they could help you.

Any way getting back to the system that I was so slow to promote, it was from Jeremy Schoemaker and he has opened the doors to his system, the one that shows you how he makes money online using some different methods. I am not sure of the content, but it is rated by the other top guys that are promoting it and I would think it is pretty good if you think about who’s system it is, after all Jeremy knows what he is doing when it comes to making money online.

I am pretty sure it will probably be sold out by now, but you may still be able to view the video that explains the system and then if you like what you see, you may be able to put your name down for early notification if he re-opens it at a later date. When it comes to working online to make your money, there are plenty of things that go through your mind, obviously you will need a computer and an Internet connection. These go without saying, but when I first started out I did think about a few other things as well, you may have thought of the same or perhaps you haven’t, the thing is are you a computer Wizard.

I wish I was or at least I wished I was when I first started online. When I first made the decision to jump in and make a living online, I didn’t even know how to create a link, let alone build a website. There are all those scary thoughts that go through your mind and you think that it will be impossible to actually get started as you really need to know how to be a computer programmer to build a website.

There probably was a time when this was true, but these days it is a lot easier to get up and running with your own site. There are lots of programmes around that have instant websites ready to go, but how much freedom do you have with these, i mean they are not your own design and if you are looking to have your own site wouldn’t you want it to look the way you visualize it in your mind.

You can learn without to much trouble how to master some Simple PHP, which is basically a script language that was designed for web design and producing dynamic web pages, I have never actually gone out to learn this myself, although you cannot help to pick up what you need to know when you follow a Good Tutorial Course on how to build a business online as they show you all you need to know to get your sites up a running an looking the way you want them to look.

The other thing that I was worried about when I started was my computer, what if something went wrong with it. I was now relying on my computer to make my living, so if it were to crash then I would not be able to earn. the trouble with computers is that the industry tends to move so fast, you buy a computer and before you get it home unpack it and set it up, it is out of date. Also after a while it seems to become slower, which when you are working online makes a big difference to your day. It can be expensive to pay out for a professional to come out and maintain your computer to tip top condition or if something goes wrong with it. If you have friend or like me a friend of a friend that knows about computers then it probably won’t cost you as much and of course it does go down as a business expense.

The alternative is to learn as much as you can about computers and how they work, I have been told in the past that it is not as complicated as it seems, a bit like website building I guess. Still you may not be the kind to learn the technical stuff or like me you may not want to learn. So the best thing to do is to befriend a computer geek or find someone to Teach You The Basics and then you can probably sort most problems out for yourself.

These are a few things that frightened me when I was getting started online, but they were not as scary as I first thought and there is always a way to get around any little obstacle that presents itself as a problem. So if you are putting off getting started with an online business because you know nothing about how to build a website or how to keep your computer in top working condition, don’t be, just get going and and take some real action for your future.

I like to give as much information on my blog as possible, information that will help others to set up their online business and make money. The truth is that I could write post after post about how you could make money online, but that will never actually materialize into you making any money if you do not take any action, so lets get back to business.

Lets actually get real, my blog is not about making money, I make money with it, but it is not the money making part of my business. This should not startle you, but instead educate you to stop thinking that your blog is what makes you the money. The blog is your online tool that you will use to make your business work and it is your business with you behind it that makes the money.

You could set up a blog and chuck in some affiliate products, with some content and hope for the money to pour into you bank account. This is relying on your blog to make the money and nine times out of ten it will not, it may make a few bucks here and there, but it will not deliver the life changing money you are looking for. To work online in the first place you need some tools, your computer and your Internet connection are your tools, without them how will you work online, see your blog as another tool, it is an important tool for your online business, but a tool all the same.

There is nothing wrong with selling affiliate products and there is nothing wrong with having adverts on your blog, they will bring you in money, but they are not the be all and end all to blogging. You have seen the amount of people online that will tell you that you can make money from blogging, I am one of them, but it is not all about the blog. Some people blog for fun, they have no intention of trying to make money with their blog and that is fine. But if you are looking to blog for money, then you need to use your blog for making money.

I love blogging, it is fun and I enjoy the interaction, but I decided to work online for a living and I use blogs as part of my tool box to do that, I am by no means an expert yet, but I make money and I love what I do. I have some adverts on this blog and I do sell products, but they are all based around helping others to make money, whilst I also make money. If I sell a product and make some money doing it, then I want to make sure the person that is buying it will benefit from it, that way they will go on to make money with that product, either from learning techniques that make money or as another tool to add to their online tool box.

I am working on some of my own products, I believe that these products will help others on their journey to change their lives for the better and yes I will be charging for these products, they will be part of my business that is aimed at making money online. I have already put together some free products, one is to your right, a free ebook that shows you through a simple step by step process how to set up a blog and monetize it, this will get anyone to the point of starting their online journey for real. In that book I offer to pass you onto another person that will show you more advanced steps that follow on from the book and advance the journey further to Build Your Online Business. I offer this because it is a natural progression from the book, I would not offer it if it was not going to be beneficial, I took the exact same steps and I am still apart of it today as many others are that are all making an income online. I even offer to pass you over before you read all the content in the book, you can go straight to building your online business.

Remember, this is a business, you will not get any where if you are not prepared to take action and spend a little money. There is no free lunch in this world, yes we all like to give out as much helpful information as possible and I, like anyone else like to read that information, but business is business and if you want to be in it, then you have to pay for the tools and put them to good use, you would not expect to be able to work online without a computer and an Internet connection, you accept that you have to pay for them, well it is true as well that you will have to pay for the coaching you need to understand how to build an online business.

You have to make the decision, do you want to carry on spending hours and days searching for snippets of information here and there, pick up tips and tricks along the way, or do you want to pay for some great tuition and get on with building an online business.

Blogging Is Great, But Behind The Blog Is A Business.

It is a great thing to be able to make money online sitting at home in front of your computer and enjoying all that brings with it, like more time with your family, not having any worries about having enough money and being able to indulge in toys such as fast cars, boats and exotic holidays.

It is a great thing, that is if you are successful at it, there are many that try it and many that give up because they cannot seem to make it work. The truth is that you can spend a lot of money trying to make it work, but there will always be obstacles that will try to put a stop to your online efforts, the will to carry on until you see success is the real weapon to success.

But we know all that anyway and I did not want to go on about that in this post, it is just the way it seemed to start taking me, I could edit it out, but I decided to leave it in as it has its own message. What I really wanted to talk about in this post was the actual sitting in front of the computer all day. Whether you are experiencing success online yet or still working towards that target, you will still be spending a considerable amount of time sitting in front of a screen.

So there are some obvious things that you need to make sure that you take note of, or actually do. You will be staring at a screen for hours, so you need to make sure that you look after your eyes, if you don’t then you could suffer headaches, blurred vision or worse, take the time to make an appointment with an optician and get your eyes tested and make sure you explain that you do spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen.

You will also want to make sure that when you are sat at your computer that you will be comfortable, set up your work area so it is sympathetic to your body. You need a comfortable and supportive chair a desk that is the right height and space around you to move freely. If you are not set up right in your work area you could suffer from back problems, you may end up with a stiff neck, or your arm or wrist may give you pain if the desk is not the right height. Having your work area set up right with comfort in mind will make you more efficient at the work you are doing and you will not feel so fatigued so quickly.

Another thing to mention, which is also very important is your fitness levels. Sitting in down all day with your computer as your only friend can affect your health in other ways than those already mentioned. It will be easy to put on weight, especially if you have swapped an active job for this new online job. The only part of your body apart from your mind of course that is getting any exercise is your fingers. You will have very fit fingers, but you will not be using many other muscles whilst working and you will not be burning many calories either and being at home all day can be a temptation to pick at more food than you would have normally.

It is time to make sure that you do some exercise on a daily basis, you have to accept that you are not getting much exercise sat in front of your computer for long periods, so try to set up a daily workout routine either before you start work or when you finish. I always start my working day with a run, when I get up, after a few warm ups I am out the door, down to the beach and I run for at least 3 miles, back for a shower, then breakfast and I am ready for my day in front of the computer. I do sometimes change my routine for cycling instead of running and I do try to go for a long walk at the weekends.

You have not got to train for a marathon and you don’t even have to make your exercise, running or cycling, there are many other types of exercise, but just as long as you get some exercise in during your day. I find that doing it in the morning before I start work, puts me in a great frame of mind and I feel ready to attack my work with passion, I also egt a lot of inspiration while out running. The other advantages of this is that you will not put on any weight, you will tone your muscles and feel better about yourself and of course you will benefit from a healthier lifestyle to go along with your wealthy lifestyle. Things couldn’t get better than that now could they.

These are just a few more things about blogging or any other Internet based business that you might be pursuing, that you might want to keep in mind, they are nothing to do with the actual work you do online, but they may make you more efficient at that work. How much work do you do on your blog, are you blogging as much as you can, have you set a rate of work or do you just go blogging mad. It is easy to get carried away with blogging and actually get no where in the process or end up blogged out.

We are all different and the circumstances that surround our blogging efforts are obviously all different. There are some that blog in their spare time, they hold down a full time job and blog when they get the chance, this can be draining as it must be hard to get on the computer and be creative when the day job has taken all of the energy. Having said that being away from the computer can be an inspiration, ideas for blog posts may enter the head all day long, so this means that although the day job has sapped some energy, there are several posts lined up just ready to be written. Also it can be clear in your mind that you need to spend sometime promoting your blog.

There are some of us that blog full time and while this is a fantastic job, sometimes it is easy to just write blog posts and forget all the other things that need doing, like promotion. There are also many distractions when you are online all day long, reading other blogs is one of them. I have in the past read an interesting blog post on another site carried on to read the comments and clicked through to another blog, then done the same on that blog and so on, before you know it a couple of hours have passed and you wonder where the day has gone.

When you are blogging in your spare time you know you only have so long to fit in all that you need to do, I believe this psychologically makes for a more efficient work rate than if you have all day everyday to blog. You will get more done in the time you have available. Where as the thought of having all day can tend to leave you with the thought that you have plenty of time and it is easy to waste some of this time.

This is why it is important to set out your daily and weekly tasks, by writing a to do list of all the things you need to get done for your blogging business, it helps to keep you on track. I will have written down what I want to get done today and I attack each one in order and tick each one as I complete them. If I have any ideas or inspiration for other things I might want to do during the day and this does happen frequently, then I will add them to the following days to do list. Sometimes by the end of the day I have a full list for the following day.

If there are any things I do not manage to get done in any given day, I will add them to the top of the following days list so they are the first things that get done. It does not always work out as black and white as this, but it does help to keep some kind of structure to my work load. Obviously the more sites you have the more there is to do and it can get harder to fit everything into a day. There will be some of your sites that will suffer a little, this is what I find anyway, I do tend to favor the sites that I like writing about best and I must admit that sometimes life would be easier if I only had one site to run, it is just as well that I love writing I suppose.

So I guess my real message hear is to try and set yourself a comfortable rate of work, try not to take on to much and flood your work load with to much, try not to spread yourself to thin. I do manage to keep on top of all my sites, but they can suffer a bit if I am trying to write a book, which is what I am doing at the moment, but that is another story. But do take into account the fact that you may want to create your own ebook, which does take up a lot of your time.

Another great reason why it is best to have a structure to your online work is because you do not want to forget your family, they need you too and if you are always glued to the computer, then they will not benefit from you as a family member.

I do hate using the word failure, but what is my excuse for failure. The simply fact is, in my mind is there isn’t one, I have no excuses and I have no failures. I may have some opinions on why I am not getting the results I desire and I may have many setbacks that normally I learn something from, which in turn helps my progress. If you think you are failing and you can come up with many excuses as to why you are avioding success, then why not write an excuse letter to yourself and see how easy it is to avoid taking action.

So what are your excuses for why you think you are failing to make any money online, do you moan about how you cannot make the money that you see others eager to tell everyone about. Do you only focus on the fact that you are not seeing any results or do you carry on regardless, with the knowing that all that you are doing online will serve to get the results you want long term.

I am constantly building on what I learn everyday online, I accept that this is what I will always do now, I love working online and I know my success will grow and grow as time moves on. I would love to have a million visitors to all my sites every month, how great would that be, but I am no where near that figure. Why have I not got a million visitors to my sites every month, do I have an excuse for that, do I need to analyse the reason why, is it something that I am doing wrong and until I change what I am doing it will never happen.

I believe that I will have a million visitors to my sites every month, I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but I could spend my time searching and beating myself up as to why it is not happening, that would be a lot of time wasted. Instead I carry on working my business through implementing what I have learned on my Internet journey so far, yes I still always spend some time looking for new ways to bring in more traffic, but I know that I will continue to learn new ways of doing many things online that will benefit my business.

Some of the guys that I look up to and aspire to be like in terms of Internet success such as JeremySchoemaker, Darren Rowse, Yaro Starak and John Chow all have far more traffic than me and all make far more money than me, but they did not make money overnight, they all started at the beginning and they have all worked hard for their success. I don’t think any of them run at a million visitors per month, I think Darren Rowse is the closest to this figure (although I wouldn’t swear to that), so you may be wondering how the hell I will ever reach that figure or why I think I ever could if these guys are not running at that figure.

The way I look at it, is just because these guys, who I admire, are at a certain level, this does not mean I have to restrict my level to less than theirs or even level with theirs, no I intend to pass them, I don’t just want to be as good as them, I want to be better. I am sure they would all have a giggle at the fact that I think I could pass their level of success, but they would also know that it would always be a possibility. There are no limits on what any of us can achieve and just because I want a higher level of success than these guys, it does not mean that I think that I am better than them or that I think I can do a better job than they can, all it means is I have ambition and I aspire to compete with the best in my business.

I know I have a long way to go, but however long it takes me and however many setbacks I have (these are what some people refer to as failures), I know I am capable of that level of success and I know that I will achieve it. If I set a goal of 2 years for this level of success and I do not reach it in that time, there will be no excuses as to why I haven’t and I would not have failed, I may assess some of my methods, but ultimately I will continue to work towards my goal with the knowing that I will achieve it.

So whether you are thinking of setting up an online business or you have been working online for a year or so, forget  these two things that will only stand in your way of success and slow you down or even stop you altogether, forget the excuses, there are none and forget that word failure, scrub it from your mind, it does not exist, there are only setbacks that will more often that not teach you valuable lessons that you would not have learned if it were not for those little setbacks.

Think of only achieving your dreams, find several people in your field who inspire you, people that you can see are doing a great job and don’t be afraid to want to surpass their success. You are capable of achieving anything that you put your mind to, focus only on achieving your dreams, success is yours if you want it, success is yours if you believe you can have it and success is yours when you take action to get it.

I am glad to say that in one of the online courses that I belong to, The Niche Blogger (which was created and is run by a women), there are plenty of ladies that are members and doing well with Internet Marketing. Are you thinking about it, how long have you been thinking about it and do you ever think you will actually do it? Well I can halve the time to success, I am talking about Internet Marketing of course, starting an online business, making money online or becoming an Internet millionaire, however we describe this business, it all amounts to the same thing. It can take years before you actually make any money online, but I can cut that time in half right here right now.

How am I going to do that, I hear you ask, well this may not be typical or across the board in terms of everyone that starts in this business, but I know it is very common and I am one of the common. From the very first moment that I started to look into making money online, many years have passed. So you could say that it has taken me many years to make money online.

Now that does not sound very encouraging to anyone that is just starting out and it could put many people off, which is not my intention, but let me explain. The majority of those years were spent thinking about it and looking at all of my options, how will I get started, will this be the best program or may be that one will be a better option. Will I be able to do it, will the technical stuff hold me back, I just don’t know where to start. Then life would take over and I would forget about it for a few months, but then it would come back to my mind and the process would start all over again. Before I knew it several years had passed and guess what I had not made a dime online.

If I had taken action from the start I would not only of made money quicker, but I would be a lot richer than I am now, wasted years, do I have regrets? Yes, knowing what I know now I would definitely do things differently if I had my time again. I could have more than halved the time it took me to make money online, just by taking action at the beginning, instead of analyzing and debating for years.

So what about you, have you taken action yet or are you analyzing and debating, are you setting up a future regret. You can spend five years or more like I did, thinking about making money online and I can guarantee you one thing, you will not make one dime online during that time. After that time, when you finally decide to take the plunge, it might take you one month, six months or a year to start making money. Lets say you think about it for three years and then take the plunge and it then takes you six months to start making money. That is three and a half years and I can cut that down to six months if you take my advice.

I know you have already worked it out, Stop thinking about it and take action, by all means take your time and do six months research and then take the plunge and if you make money after six months, then it has taken you a year, which I am sure you will agree is better than three and a half years, which means you can more than halve the time it takes you to make money online.

How cool is that!

Right now for my serious advice, if you are thinking about it, there is a reason for that, you obviously are not happy with your current job or situation and you want to make your money online. It can be a scary prospect to go into something that you know nothing about, but you will never know anything about it, if you do not take some action. You do not have to give up your present job, you can start this in your spare time.  Start small and build on it, this way you will learn this business and may be earn some extra cash as you learn.

This is what I suggest if you are in two minds as to jump in and get wet, just start a simple blog, it will not cost you a lot. The platform for your blog (Wordpress, which you can install through your host) is free, the hosting ( HostGator) will cost you under $10 per month (correct at the time of publishing this post) and a domain name will cost you around $10 per year (correct at the time of publishing this post), you then have the tools to start.You can get the information you need to get your blog set up and running by getting your free copy of my Ebook, which gives you a step by step guide, which you can get access to by clicking on the picture of the book to your right.

If you want a more in depth instructional course then you can join The Niche Blogger, this is a really comprehensive and detailed step by step guide into setting up a blog or blogs and taking them to the point of making a long term passive income. It really is a great course and I would not recommend it if I did not think that anyone would not get value from it, I certainly did, in fact I am still a member.

Anyway you do not have to join that course it is up to you, but at least start a blog, take action and get yourself online with a chance to start earning money. Don’t leave it festering in your mind for years and have regrets like I did, make the decision, take action and change your life now, not in five years time.

To succeed in any business, we need to set goals, without anything to aim for how can we achieve what we want to. This is not a magic formula, just one of the precise steps to success that all successful business people actively do to get what they want. So if you haven’t already then you need to set your goals and then set out to reach them, you will then experience success.

It is not difficult to set your goals, you just need to know what you want, you can then put a plan together to get what you want. The most important part of goal setting is to write them down, if you do not write them down then they will make no difference in your life and you will not strive to achieve them.

So first off write you goals down, make your long term goals your first priority, write down exactly what it is you want, why you want it and how it will make your life better and this will make them as powerful as they can be. Make sure you have instant access to your written goals, you need to see them regular to have maximum impact and to give them your maximum attention. If possible put them on a wall where you work so that you can see them at a glance.

If your goals are big ones, then try to break them down into smaller ones and these smaller ones then become the shorter term goals that when put together make up your ultimate long term goals. Also the smaller ones will seem easier to achieve. Write a detailed step by step plan on how you intend to reach your goals, this will act as your workable blueprint for success.

As you work on conquering each step of your plan, don’t worry if your plan itself or even your goals shift or change slightly, nothing is set in stone and everything is adaptable, just go with it and keep focus on your ultimate long term goals.

Every sales manager will always set his sales team monthly, quarterly or annual targets, either in the amount of sales or an amount of revenue, this fixes in the sales persons mind what they have to achieve to make their money. All good sales people will become totally focused on their targets and have a plan on how they are going to achieve them, without their targets they would be far less productive and would sell far less products or services.

Goals are important for our success in any business, if you fail to meet short term goals or targets then try harder or change your approach, this will not effect your long term goal because we only ever fail that goal if we give up and stop chasing it, so stay with your path and never give up until you achieve your goals.

This is something that you would have heard a lot, I have said it before and I will say it again. It is about your niche, if you have a website or blog you will need to decide upon a niche that you are going to enter and write about or sell products in. But first you must become a niche inspector

First of all you need to know what you like and a silly as it sounds, sometimes people do not always know what they like. Many have said this, choose a niche that you are interested in, something you like, then you will be interested in writing about it. If you are interested in writing about it, then you will always have something to write. Once you have decided on a niche, don’t just jump in and set up a blog, buy your domain name and start writing, why? Because you need to know a little or a lot if possible about that niche and its presence on the Internet.

When you have set up a blog and are passionate about your subject you will want people to read what you have got to say, you will want to provide information that will help them. So you need to do some research about your subject. If your chosen niche is saturated on the web, then you will have a hard time competing for visitors to your blog when there are so many other sites competing for the same audience. For example, if you love exercise and you set up a blog on that broad subject exercise, then you will be competing with well over one hundred million other sites of which a lot will be big established authority sites.

You can still enter the exercise niche, but scale it down to a tighter niche like exercising with weights or exercising at home, although these are still fairly big markets they will give you more of a chance to get visitors to your site. Once you have found your ideal niche that does not have to much competition, then check out if people are buying products for that niche, you can look for products on Amazon, Ebay and Clickbank, there are plenty more places to look, but this just gives you an idea. If there are no products then that might mean there is not a market for your niche.

Once you know what the competition is and you know there is a market for your niche, you can then begin to proceed with your blog or website. If you are going for blogging then you will be constantly updating your blog with fresh content and bringing your readers some insight into the subject, you may also promote products to help your readers. A blog is an ongoing source of information, but can also include your own insights and opinions on different aspects of your subject. You may decide that blogging is not for you in which case you can set up a website instead.

There are different ways in which you can set up a website, you can have a multi page website where you can still update it with new information and promote products that you know will add value to your readers experience, but it does not have to be updated on such a regular basis. Another type of website and I have one like this is to just keep it simple. You can just have a website that has a sole purpose of promoting just one product. You write some information about that product and offer it for sale, whether it is your own product or an affiliate product.

The best reason for this type of website is if you are really passionate about the product you are promoting and you know through personal experience that it will provide great value to your visitors. As an example I am very passionate about the products I have placed on the Make Money Online page of this site and in particular The NicheBlogger, Why? because I know through personal experience that it will provide great value to someone who wants to make money online, I pick this one out as my favorite because of the content and the price, it offers great value and works (in fact I might set up a website just for this product, what an idea) and it does not cost a fortune.

So find a niche that you love, research its worth to you and your potential readers and then set out to help as many people as you can, aim to bring value to their lives. As always feel free to leave a comment with your questions or views.

What is the idea of passion and how will this help us to be successful. If our work, what we do to make money is not what we want to be doing, then how can we be passionate about it and in turn how can we be successful at it. We will have more chance of success if we can love what we do and it is possible.

There are some that will just turn to Internet Marketing for a way of making money, especially at this present time with a lot of the world going through a rough time with the economy. But do we stop to think if we will actually like being online everyday trying to make some money, do we know if we are going to like this form of work. The dream sounds nice, wake up when you want, no getting ready for work, no traffic jams, no having to leave the house and the money just pours into your bank account.

Who wouldn’t like that for a job?  The reality is different, you can choose to get up at lunch time, but you will not get much work done, you can sit there all day in your PJ’s, but it is not very inspiring. There are no traffic jams, that is true, but you have to motivate and inspire yourself to work. You do not have to leave the house, but it can get lonely working on your own at home, but the biggest challenge to carry on is when your bank account does not burst with money and you only see a trickle of cash if you are lucky.

This is where passion kicks in, I started Internet Marketing because it is something that I have always wanted to do years before I finally got around to actually doing it. I love writing, I love design, I love using a computer and I love working alone even though I don’t do everything myself now I did at the beginning. I am passionate about working online, it fascinates me, it inspires me and I feel total satisfaction in creating an income for myself and others from my own reality.

I have mentioned before on this blog that I have other blogs and websites, most of them are about subjects that I am interested in, the other few were purely business decisions. The one I am most passionate about is this one, this subject about making money online. Helping other people to find their way online and be successful in this business is an amazing feeling, but I would not want to help someone to get into this business if they were not passionate about it because I know they will not enjoy it and will probably not be very successful at it for that reason.

If you follow your dream, then you will be successful at it. You may not see success straight away, it could take a long time, but it is the passion for your dream that will align you with the success you desire. It would not be a great feeling knowing that you became rich because you robbed a bank and may be hurt someone in the process, it would not be a great feeling knowing that you became rich at other peoples expense. It would feel great if you became rich through doing something you loved and by helping others realise their dreams and create their own riches along the way, now that would feel fantastic.

So there is the idea and the explanation of passion in your work. If you are not in the position to just suddenly give up the job you hate so much and start doing the job you are passionate about, then it does not matter, you have not got to start your passion immediately, you have plenty of time. Accept the job you do as a vehicle to your passion, then start to take action on following your desire. If you are passionate about what you want to do, you will create the opportunities that will eventually give you the power to leave the job you hate and follow your passion.

Why not leave a comment below exposing your passion, you will get more power to achieve it when you see it in black and white in front of you, it may be that first small step you need to start chasing your dream, go for it.

Can I make it happen online, that is the question and one that I get asked frequently. I always answer with “Why Couldn’t You”, there is no one that cannot make it online. You have to treat it as a business and anyone can succeed in any business they choose, as long as they take the time to understand what is involved in that business.

You have to learn as much as you can about whatever business you decide to go into and an online business is no different. If you can learn as much as possible about your chosen online business and you implement what you have learned, then there is no reason what so ever why you cannot make it online and be successful.

In my experience there only seems to be one major thing that normally holds people back and stops them from achieving what they want to in any business and that is themselves. It is all about mindset and there are not that many that have the right mindset. Most people, including myself at one time, tend to block their own success through their own minds. We seem to do this without even realizing it, we put up a mental block to success, we simply don’t let our self succeed.

I was the same when I started online, for some reason I had this thought process that did not really believe that I could actually make money online. This is the reason why it took me a long time to make any money, I just did not have the belief that it could happen. Making my money online was my biggest dream, but my success was blocked by the thoughts in my mind. I was lucky to come across a few people that helped me by making me realize that my failings to make money online were down to myself.

It is a hard thing to actually see and admit to, but when you do you can change everything around very quickly. When you understand that the little voice in your head that repeatedly says to you that “this is not going to work, you will never make money online”, can be silenced and replaced with the real belief that you can achieve anything that you want to achieve, then you can begin to make your way online.

You have to know that you are very capable of making it online and this goes for any business. We can achieve exactly what we believe, in fact where we are at this exact moment in our life, everything we have and everything we have done up to now, is a direct result of our thoughts and beliefs. The mind is powerful, so use it in the right way, use it to get what you want and not what you don’t want. Thinking and dwelling on what you don’t want will bring more of exactly that into your life. Think about what you do want in your life and totally believe that you can have just that and it will begin to show up in your life.

I hope that is not to heavy or critical of us, but it is the truth and it is what all those people that have made fortunes have in common, belief in what they can achieve in their lives. So the bottom line is if you have any doubt or believe you cannot make it online, then you never will.

This post is about how much a blogger should be writing on their blogs, what is best a post a day or several posts per day or as I have been doing twice to three times per week. This could have an effect on traffic to the blog as well as an effect on the blog readers.

When I first started blogging and learning all about how it works, I was taught that writing a post two to three times per week was sufficient. It would be enough to keep the search engines interested and I would get listed and ranked no problem. It would also be good for the readers as they would get use to two or three posts per week and would not have to visit the blog everyday. So that is fine and I have no real problem with this method.

Whether I have got listed and ranked in the search engines because of this ratio of posts is not really clear as it could very well be down to the promotion that I have done for this site, from social bookmarking to article marketing and of course everything in between. This also goes for my other blogs as I have followed the same process.

I am not complaining about the amount of traffic I do get to my blogs, but I would be lying if I said I was satisfied, after all we all want more traffic to our blogs. I have recently come across someone that although has been working online for over ten years, they have only just started blogging. They set up four blogs at the same time and wrote on everyone of them on average twice per day, after only a couple of weeks their traffic blows mine out of the window on all four blogs.

So as you can imagine this has got me thinking, can I double or treble my traffic to this blog or other blogs just by increasing my content. I have decided to commence on a little experiment to see if this will have a big impact on my traffic value. I am going to write more posts here and on another blog whilst leaving the others as was, to see if it has an impact on the amount of traffic.

Obviously I have got to maintain all of my blogs as well as writing a book that is in progress at the moment, this means I do not know how much more writing I can manage, but I will make an effort to increase it as much as possible. I will monitor my traffic over the next few weeks and report back on the result of my little experiment, so stay tuned to find out the results.

When it comes to blogging there are lots of things that are easy to implement and then there are those things that are just that little more difficult, but all in all most people can set up and maintain a blog without to much trouble. There is one thing that although not difficult to implement, can be a little tricky depending on which way you look at it, choosing and managing to get the right domain.

Like I say it depends how you look at it or approach this early stage of setting up a blog. I have taken five minutes in the past to pick and purchase a domain name, but I have also taken several weeks as well, it has got to be something that you will be happy with or at least can live with, but is there more to it than that alone.

There are different theories about what is the most important thing to consider when choosing a domain name.

1. There is a theory that your domain name should be a money keyword, what I mean by this is that your domain name should be a keyword that has a decent amount of searches every month, but not to much competition. Lets say that you was going to go for the name Internetmarketing.com (not that you would get it), searches per month 2740,000, obviously very good a great chance of a lot of traffic, but the competition is 144,000,000 which is way to much competition. I try to keep the searches over 5000 per month and the competition less that 50,000.
2. There is also a theory that your domain name should be a dot com, as the search engines favor the dot com extension over dot net, dot org or any of the other extensions. I think that most people out of choice would go for the dot com if possible, but these are not always easy to get and it is very annoying when a lot of the dot coms are just parked domains.
3. Here is another theory, it is best to have an easy to remember name, one that is short and does not have more than four words, this is understandable when you think of Facebook, Twitter and Google, but they are not very easy to come by, there is a lot of competition for one word domains.

There are some other theories floating around, but these are probably the main three. So how do we approach these theories, if we conform to all three then we could be searching for months to find a domain name that is not taken or parked. Sometimes you just have to make some compromises. So I thought I would answer each theory in turn and this is only my opinion.

1. It would be great to get a name that conformed to a high search volume and low competition and although it is difficult, it is not impossible to do, I have managed it on a few of my sites. Yes you have the added advantage of more traffic or that is the theory. I can honestly say that those sites I have managed it on did not take off any quicker than the sites that I didn’t manage it on, so I gained no real advantage. Also even if your domain name is not an optimal keyword, as long as you target some optimal keywords with your post titles then you will still get those into the search engine listings. So I am not convinced on this theory.
2. The dot com theory, I always try to get the dot com, but I also have dot net and dot org extensions and I have seen no evidence of favor to the dot coms, my net and org sites do just as well, some even better. So again I see no real convincing evidence of this theory.
3. The easy to remember short name theory, well I am sure that nobody wants to have a domain  name that is six, seven or eight words long and most of mine are two words and my longest are four words, I have never been able to find a one word name that relates to my sites topic. But again the shorter names do not perform any better than the longer ones, although that said I wouldn’t want to go over four words in a domain.

So what is the conclusion to these theories, well I only have a couple of domains that conform to all three of these theories and they do not out shine any of my others, yes I try to get a good keyword and I always go for dot com if I can, I also try for the shortest easiest name to remember, but sometimes you could be searching for months and still not manage to achieve all three.

My own theory is to try, but not get to caught up in meeting all three, the most important things are to get a name you are happy with and then turn your attention to keyword optimization on your content and promotion of your site.

I have a friend that has recently been laid off from his job, at first he was pretty depressed about it, but after a while  he realized that it may well be a good opportunity to change his path in life. A good call I thought as he didn’t really like his job, it was just a vehicle to meet his bills and I always believe there is opportunity in any circumstance.

Whilst chatting about his future he asked me what my thoughts on making money online were, he new this is what I do and wanted to know whether I thought he could do the same. My short answer was yes, but I did elaborate a little. So here is what I told him.

Making money online is totally possible for anyone to achieve, but it is not instant, there is no magic formula that will bring in instant cash. There are many different ways to make money online, but you have to initially decide what interests you and concentrate on that particular route. After going through a few options such as freelance writing, affiliate marketing, stocks and shares, eBay, blogging and producing your own product, he like the idea of freelance writing and blogging, mainly because he likes writing.

My advice was to start a blog in a niche that interested him and to forget about making money initially, just get a blog up and running and concentrate on writing some great content. Once established, he could then start to look into establishing himself as a freelance writer for sites such as Associated Content, Demand Studios, Daily Article and Review Stream, whilst still building up his blog. He could then start to promote his blog once it had a decent amount of content and then start to monetize it.

He obviously asked how long it would be before he would start to see some money coming in, from the blog perspective I explained that he might start to earn a little once he had monetized it which I recommended after a couple of months, but it would only probably be a little money and would take time to build up. With respect to the freelance writing, it is possible to start earning almost immediately as long as your writing was of good quality.

He did seem a little deflated by what I had told him, as he was under the impression that it would be easier than that to make money and he also thought that he could make a lot of money fast. Thankfully I stopped him from spending $2000 on a system that he had found online, which I knew would be of no use to him at all, he did buy me a drink.

So the good news is that he is going to start a blog, he knows that the money is not going to flow in from day one, which means he will not give up his search for a new job, but the good thing is that he really wants to end up making his money online and so has committed to getting his blog up and running and build up from there.

The best thing that came out of it for me is that I stopped him wasting his money on something that would not have worked for him and would have probably ended his online career through frustration and before he ever made any money. Instead he has started his online career by signing up for some great blog training at Become A Blogger, this is not going to cost him a fortune, but will teach him all he needs to know about creating a successful blog.

I know he will be a successful blogger of the future.

Anyway I thought I would just share that little story with you and hopefully it may help some of you too, feel free to comment with a question or view on this post.

It is not hard to come across the fact that the easiest way to start making money online is by blogging. It is easy to start and easy to get set up. The first thing that needs to be considered is the base of your blog and what type you will go for. This does depend on personal choice or budget, so which is the best blog platform.

Your blog will need a host and this is what I am refering to when I say platform, you need a reliable place to keep your blog safe and one that will not cost you a fortune. You can of course go for the free option and one of the best in this category is Blogger.Com, you can easily set up your own blog and be up and running within minutes. This free service is owned by Google and you will have to create an account, which is step one and then step two is choosing your blog name and then step three is choosing your theme. That is it, really simple and free, but you will not own the blog, it will always belong to Google, which means that you will never be able to sell it, whic is something you need to consider.

What about the other option which is going to cost you a monthly fee, well there are many hosting companies to choose from and they are all pretty much the same in that they will act as your blogs home. The prices can vary considerably, but you do not have to pay a fortune to get your blog a house. I only pay less than $10.00 per month and have unlimited blogs that I can host, this means I can have more than one blog kept at the same place without it costing me any more money every month.

A couple of hosting companies you can check out are BlueHost which has a very good reputation and is a very reasonable monthly amount, some features are unlimited space, unlimited domains and easy domain transfers, so well worth looking at. The other is HostGator again with a very good reputation and very reliable, which I can vouch for as I use this company. It has the same kind of features as BlueHost, so it will come down to personal choice. Other than that, you can always do a search of your own, you will find plenty to choose from, although I always think a recommendation is a good choice.
