I found this on Pinterest and thought it was such an adorable idea. I made some for Dustyn’s Preschool Teachers. I put a little drawing from Dustyn and a note from me in the cup along with the little packets to add to water. They really loved them. If you go here they have where you can print the little flags.

I have never really been a huge fan of board games.

I know, I know, this admission probably makes me sound like the worst mother ever.

But, whatever.

I didn’t like them when I was younger. And I don’t like them now.

The kids cheat and fight. Dumb Dad cheats and trash talks. It’s hard to find something that the four year old AND the ten year old can enjoy. And they take FOREVER to end. Unless I cheat too. And,while I’m not above that, I find it an exercise in excess creativity I don’t really have.

Maybe it’s just the type of board games we’ve been playing?!

Recently Blue Orange Games sent us Spot it.

It is a symbol matching game that for some reason my kids, my husband, and I all love to play!

You can’t cheat. There’s nothing to fight over. And it’s appropriate for every member of our family, from the 4 year old on up (although, technically, the game is geared towards kids 7 & up, he is a pretty savvy 4 and has had no problem having a blast with us and this game).

It’s easy to play, doesn’t require a lot of set up, doesn’t take FOREVER to finish, so it’s no wonder that we love, love, love it.

Store clutter!

Do you find yourself having to carefully navigate around your home to avoid stepping on random items on the ground? It might be time to start a decluttering project. Get rid of the things that you don’t need to open up your home. For the things that you can’t throw away (heirlooms, artifacts, and your children’s toys) go ahead and throw them in a storage unit in case you will need those items again.

Those who know us, know that we are a family on the go. From the many times we have moved (7 times in 9 years) – to the spontaneous trips we take. Even if its just a day trip – going requires a lot with 3 kids.

We recently made a trip to Atlanta – where I had a gig to photograph some baby carriers for a company.
