HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 2009!

In any society, be it modern, medieval or ancient, fathers have had a significant position. There may be several relationships in a child’s life but not a single one of these can be a perfect substitute of a father-child relationship. He is a guide, a philosopher and more than that, a dear and most reliable friend of the child after a certain age. A child is being helped by his father to set his or her aim in life. Then he helps us in selecting the just ways of attaining our goals in life. Again, when someone gets too tired of the weariness and doldrums of life, his/her father is always there to offer the shoulders of a friend where we can rest for a while.

There is every reason of celebrating such an important relationship and Father’s Day has been designed for this purpose. It was an ancient practice of worshiping ancestors including father and mother. This tradition was maintained by the following civilizations. In the modern society, people started celebrating Mother’s Day first. Gradually, the civilization understood the necessity of Father’s Day too. Although the efforts were made in the early 20th century but it was in 1970s only when Father’s Day was recognized officially in the US by President Nixon. Gradually most of the countries acknowledged Father’s Day and started celebrating fatherhood.

Now the question is that how much significance does Father’s Day get in the modern society. Firstly, while measuring its significance, we should not compare it with Mother’s Day because it is a different occasion. A mother perform the divine right of giving birth to a child and then of nurturing him or her. This is obvious that mothers will get the special treatment. At the same time, it is also true that a father performs an important role in nurturing and raising a child and this role should also be acknowledged. In today’s society, we acknowledge this responsibility through Father’s Day.

The significance of Father’s Day is related directly to the position of a father in the family as well as in the society. Every child needs both father and mother in order to get a good mental health. In the primary stages, both father and mother remain responsible for taking some important decisions related to the education and growing up of the child. At the present time, most of the countries have patriarchal societies and because of this the fathers play the leading role in taking the above mentioned decisions.

All these and many more make a father very significant in today’s modern society and because of this, celebrating this relationship and this responsibility is very significant today. Like any other part of the world, Philippines also celebrates Father’s Day with full enthusiasm. This enthusiasm is well expressed by different kind of gifts and greetings that are sent on Father’s Day.

To you my Sweetheart and to all fathers in the world: Happy Father's Day to all of you! May God bless you all and give you the strength and wisdom to be the Father that God has called you to be...

Ary's Adventure: SM City Bridal Fair:)

My friend Gids,who is an event stylist and a wedding coordinator , called me up last week inviting me to attend the opening of SM Rosales-Bridal Fair which started last June 15, 2009 and will end on June 20, 2009. I love attending bridal fairs to be honest...and I dream to be a lovely June bride someday.:)

But how did the June weddings originated?

History tells us that June Weddings have roots in early Roman times, Pagan traditions and the Elizabethan England… The Roman goddess Juno -- goddess of women’s well being and marriage lends her name to this month.

Pagan traditions of hand-fasting, summer solstice -- the longest day of the year, first harvest -- not only of crops but said to be the ‘harvest of emotions” are all part of the origin of the June wedding. Our current honeymoon, has origins in the Pagan “honey moon” -- the first moon after the summer solstice and named for the honey-flavored mead drunk after the solstice hand-fasting.

Happy 111st Philippine Independence Day!

Today is an official holiday here in our country.The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.

The declaration, however, was not recognized by the United States or Spain, as the Spanish government ceded the Philippines to the United States in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in consideration for an indemnity for Spanish expenses and assets lost.

While the Philippines first celebrated its Independence Day on June 12, its independence was only recognized on July 4, 1946 by the United States. Henceforth, Independence Day was observed on July 4, but in the name of nationalism, and upon the advice of historians, Republic Act No. 4166 was signed into law by President Diosdado Macapagal in 1964, proclaiming June 12, which up to that time had been observed as Flag Day, as Independence Day.

To all our countrymen who gave their lives for the sake of the country's freedom,my family and i salute you all!I may not know all your names,but the courageous deeds that you did for our country will always remains our hearts and minds as long as we live! Mabuhay!

The Beauty Of A Woman

The beauty of a woman

To arrive at the point in our lives when we know who we are and are contented with ourselves. No longer is there the urge to please or impress. We realize, as the saying goes "those who care don't matter and those who matter don't care" if we're young and beautiful or starting to show our age, if our shape causes heads to turn or is just comfy and curvy.

We revel more in the warmth of relationships that have stood the test of time such as long-time friendships, lifelong partners and loving family. We cherish the sweetness of those new arrivals in our lives such as children and, for some of us, the love of a friend, companion, helper and lover who cared to look beyond what the mirror reflects to know and embrace our souls in the autumn of our lives. Little Tam's 1st Day in Pre-school:)

Another summer has passed and it is once again time to get back into the hectic daily schedules of Mommy Ary. Yet again, a new school year brings us new and exciting possibilities. Little Tam will be adjusting to early wake-up calls, a new routine, meeting old and new friends, trying out new and exciting programs, and I , as a parent is looking forward to new experiences which I hope will bring out the best in my precious son.

Today was Little Tam’s much anticipated first day in preschool! He is attending at St. Matthew’s Montessori, a private school for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students. Because of his health condition, I have to wait for him for 3 hours in the school canteen. Although he was a little concerned that he'd miss me when I dropped him off, it didn't take long at all for him to forget I was even in the room with him. When I came back to pick him up, he told me he didn't want to go home!

His favorite things today were playing with green play dough and painting, sliding down the big slide, sitting in circle time and singing songs, and meeting new friends. I taught him to write his name last summer and now he can identify the letters of the alphabet, shapes, colors and can he can now write the letters of the alphabet eligibly. There is much more for him to explore and learn as the school year unfolds!

Just want to share the school’s philosophy with you…and I love reading them:

1. Each child is unique
2. Each child has innate potentials and abilities
3. Each child has his own strengths and weaknesses
4. Each child possesses varied patterns and different paces of growth and development
5. Each child’s development must be nurtured
6. Each child has its own learning style as well as different interests, needs and motivations
7. Providing experiences such as interacting with real life objects will help them construct knowledge
8. Each child must be provided with an environment that will encourage them to learn, grow and be happy
9. Following Progressive Approach will provide each child to be well rounded with experiences with intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual and physical development.
10. Each child can be the BEST in his own ways

To you my son, a life of happiness and wonder awaits you. Relief washes over me knowing that you head into the next chapter of your life grounded, with a strong sense of self worth. I hope you continue to be true to yourself, never fear speaking your mind and keep the ability be open to everyone:)

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark...

One: Don't miss the boat.

Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Six: Build your future on high ground.

Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.

HEARTY BREAKFAST:)

My son and I went to bed early last night after we watched TRANSFORMER the movie. We chatted about great things.. though he uses simple words to describe lot of stuffs. Today I woke up early I want to surprise everybody with my love through cooking! Hearty-breakfast to crave for. I want to share to how simple things can be so fun yet elegant. I often made our own bread instead of buying one which make it special. But you can buy a ready bread of your choice.

Hearty-breakfast--- The first time I made this "disaster"..! I just kept trying and trying again. I love perfection. But the moment your kids, husband, boyfriend see this creation, they will love you and that's the first thing to feel.. then surprise.. ask you how do you do that? ssshhhh.... its our secret... +_+

RECIPE:

butter, (grinded) rosemary, salt and pepper (combined)
egg
bread

pre-heat the pan
spread the butter mixture into the bread
put the bread into the pan to toast
put the egg inside the heart (or any shape you want)

Enjoy cooking.
Enjoy eating.
Enjoy bonding!

How wonderful it feels to give in and let tears flow when we are overwhelmed with emotions, whether we are happy or sad. Tears come from the soul, from our well of feelings rising from deep down. When we give in to the prickling behind our eyes and the lump in our throat to let teardrops fall from our eyes, we allow our feelings to surface so they can be set free.

Proud parents shed tears of pride in a child’s accomplishments, a baby’s first step, birthdays, and graduations. Long lost friends fall into each other’s arms, tears rolling down their cheeks when they reunite after years of separation. Tears may flow from us when we are witness to a commitment being made at a wedding or even while we are reading a successfull love story here at MP. Tears of relief may spring forth from our eyes when we hear that a loved one has survived an ordeal, and tears may fall when we bow our head in sorrow over a loss or death. Tears born from heartache can flow like they’ll never cease, whether our tears are for a love that is over, a friendship lost, or an opportunity missed. We shed tears because of disappointment in ourselves, tragedy in the world, pain, and illness. Tears of anger can burn with emotion as they fall down our faces. Tears offer us a physical release of our feelings.

Shedding tears can sometimes make us feel better, although it can feel like the tears will never end once the floodgates are open. There is no shame in letting tears flow freely and frequently. Tears are as natural to us as is breathing. There is beauty in allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to shed tears. Open up, release your tears, and let your feelings flow.
