Rich was building a wall in our bedroom to create a closet. He wedged a block of wood at the top between two studs and then bent down to pound the bottom on the stud into alignment. You can imagine what happened next right?
The block of wood from above fell on his head and I burst into laughter. It was very comical to me; it reminded me of something that Wiley Coyote would have done. Rich was not pleased with me for finding it this funny as he was already frustrated by the project but I could not stop laughing.
To this day I cannot think of this incident and not chuckle. I will say he was not injured, as least not physically. He can laugh about it now as well but he was upset with me for laughing for quite some time.

365/40 Acclimating

Home Depot called this evening and let us know our special order came in. I went back and forth on this topic and I finally found the photo that I took of myself that I use for my profile pics. I could never image myself that old! That is until 40 crept up on me and suddenly I really don’t feel that old.
Really, I feel just like myself, a bit wiser, a bit thicker in places, but still just me.
What was I thinking? 40 is NOT old, it is beautiful! The bath faucets were another matter, the master bath faucet refused to come off. Hubby tried many things the last of which cracked the sink. He was a bit frustrated about this new problem but the faucet remained on the cracked sink and Hubby had to purchase a new sink. Now the master bath has a new toilet, faucet and sink, all shiny.

After the morning at 1770 we came home and I had to get my LOAD page done and we needed to prepare to get our taxes done. My priorities were the layout and Hubby was the tax stuff, that is until Hubby could not locate what was needed, and things got stressful for all involved. In the end, missing paper work will have me burning the phone line Monday morning and Hubby has provided me with a checklist for this year tax folder. {may this never happen again} <img style="border-bottom-style: none; Most nights we start out alone but by 3 am we have at least one of the girls smack in the middle of our bed.

This last week Syd has decided that she was going to start out the night in our bed. Not sure why but try as I might she refused to go to bed in her own room. She was obviously very tired. She would fall asleep in my arms after I retrieved her screaming from her crib only to wake as I placed her back in her crib. We did this dance a couple times before I just gave in and let her come to bed with us.

Hubby does not mind this at all. I think he would have a family bed and let the both girls sleep with us every night if I would let him. I understand why, they are only this little for a very short time and they will out grow this need but I just like my space when I sleep. I am with them nearly all day and just need to be “alone” when I can to recharge. We had some concerns about whether we should send her to a Young fives program instead of Kindergarten {Actually Hubby was more on the fence than I}.

In our county young fives is only in private schools unlike our old county which provided it free to the public. I was not eager to shell out more money for private school for another year.

After the informational meeting tonight we talked with one of the the kindergarten teachers and she thinks that waiting the extra year will not help her. Might as well get her in there and start learning. If she needs to she could always repeat kindergarten.

Our biggest concern is that Syd seems to know more alphabet than CJ. We don’t want CJ to be behind the majority of her class. But the teacher assured us that she gets kids that don’t know their alphabet to kids that can read on day one and everything in between. “We are here to teach so let us teach her.”

365/30 Setting the table

While I made dinner tonight Syd decided she should set the table for me.
