With their first primetime network card in the books, we thought we’d grade their performance.

Production Value - C+ Dana has always been critical of the Elite XC/Strikeforce production; and with good reason. From the repeated views of the ref’s back to the absolutely atrocious announcing crew, Strikeforce had a pretty crappy show, production-wise. The main event walkouts were cut due to additional commercials. The show ran 20 minutes (!) long just in case you wanted to DVR it. Frank Shamrock constantly mangled names, most notably calling Sokoudjou “Sudoku.” Instead of fixing the problems of EliteXC, Strikeforce seemed content to copy their design completely.
Fight Quality - A- This was a stacked card by anybody’s standards. The fights were all competitive and there were no questionable finishes. Putting Brett Rogers in against Fedor wasn’t the best use of the Russian’s skills and reputation, but Rogers made the most of his opportunity.
Overall - B Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers was much better than any previous primetime MMA card, but still needed a lot of production work. They really need to learn from the UFC’s example.

UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre has signed on to endorse Under Armour athletic wear. GSP is the first MMA athlete to be signed by Under Armour. This is a major deal for the world of MMA because of the door it opens for other fighters to secure endorsements with non-MMA apparel companies. While Under Armour is still the “new kid” in the athletic apparel, this is certainly a sign that it’s only a matter of time before Nike, Adidas, and Reebok enter the world of MMA.
