My wife decided to let me make her a blog.  How sweet is that?!?  Well.  I think you should go read it!

I think I am going to set Elizabeth up a blog… what do you think?

You do something, commit some action.  Then it moves into the past.  The past is a big scary place, full of ALL of our wrongdoings… Things we can never forget we did.  NEVER.  Remember that time you kicked your dog? I thought so.  Now, some actions are just cruel, and some actions are sins.  They all should weigh heavily on your heart.

My youth pastor explained it once as follows “The mind is like a video recorder, with no delete.  What you see once, you will see forever, even if you would rather forget.”  Wow.  Ever have a restless night remembering all the bad things you have done?  I have.  It is human nature to sin.  Every since the Fall.

What used to happen when you sin is that you would die.  Not right away, but death was unavoidable.  And get this, its hard not to Sin.  There are few exceptions, like infants and children that don’t know right from wrong.

But then an AMAZING thing happened.  God sent his son Jesus to Earth.  There Jesus ministered unto the people of the times.  Being the sinners they were, the people of the times decided that he was a false prophet.  Though the word probably didn’t exist, we could say they thought him the Anti-Christ… he was however the Christ.  Our savior.  The only chance we had for Eternal Salvation.  More on that in a bit.

So they crucified him.  They made fun of him, taunted him, beat him.  It was terrible.  He endured it.  As the Son of God, he could have called all the angels from the heavens to smite his attackers and free him.  He didn’t.  That’s Love right there.  Jesus loved us.  Jesus loved YOU.  So much that he was willing to die on a cross.  This is terribly symbolic.  Before the Christ people would have to sacrifice unblemished lambs.  Unblemished, in a person that translates to sinless.  No one is sinless, except Jesus.  He didn’t sin once.  He was our lamb.  He was sacrificed.

Then something even MORE amazing happened.  He rose.  From the grave.  Charged his followers with spreading his Gospel and his love, and ascended into Heaven until he comes back for believers.

WOW.  What this means is that YOU and ME, who are terrible sinners, can call upon Jesus in our Heart of Hearts.  We can ask him for forgive us, we can repent of our sins.  He can wash us.  Make us clean.  Make it so that instead of seeing the creatures we are, God will see sinless people.

Isn’t that amazing?  I think so. Jesus can wipe away our past.  Make it invalid.  No matter what sin you commit Jesus can clean it up.  You murdered fifty people?  You bet he can heal you.  He can turn the worst criminal into the nicest person.

I am not going to peddle this too much longer.  But if you have read this far please read on.

Jesus loves you.  Jesus wants to save you.  So much that he would leave 99 saved folk to find the one lost.  It isn’t hard.  All you have to do is repent.  Not just playacting, but really truly repent.  Then cry out with your heart.  Ask Jesus to come into your heart, to wash you clean, to change you.  He will.  He loves you.

Just as a side note, They mocked him for saying he could “tear down the temple and rebuild it in three days” he did.
