For the first time, someone gives me request to play a music. It is Hajimari no Hi from Tegami-bachi.

To be honest, I can try to play, but maybe not too good. I had problem with my pinky finger (right hand) and my ability with right hand wasn't never good from the past, for playing melody. That was why I mostly played on band, and taking care the chords. :D

I might have better time on end of June, as the school will be having a long break. So hopefully I can fulfill the request. This will be along with all the sheet music post since I am still stuck doing many things right now.

However, if any of you willing to help, by doing a performance, playing Hajimari no Hi, I'll be very grateful! It will be fun to see different version of one song. And that's how we can study, learn, and expand our knowledge.

The long absence

I am sorry for being away for long time.
After a series of sickness and madness life, I really had to pause myself to take care this blog. But I would return soon.

I still haven't checked all the new requests by the e-mail and posting on the web. And FYI, I also did not touch computer for around 2 months. I didn't play my piano for the same amount. It is a true busy life to survive life which I should not complain about. :)

So I really apologizes for my absence.

Kuchizuke - Shiki

I already fall in love with this song when I watched Shiki :D It's so dark, so black, so thrilling, to hear the complete song. And, as I watch Shiki, I can see how much it fits the whole story.

Interpreting Kuchizuke

I once said that some "love" theme will be put up for February's article and I think, Shiki fits the theme of dark love. It's "vulgar", "rude", rough, from the lyric; while execution of the music is very clever. The darkness of the lyric was so black, that if I only read without knowledge of the music, I would felt like suffocate myself. The music, somehow, lighten up the atmosphere from the lyric, but still bring up the thrill and tension.

Even though the whole package of Kuchizuke sounded difficult when I first time hear it, the feeling was totally different when I finished working the chords. Basically, Kuchizuke is an easy piece. However, the tempo, the rock style, and the stamina are needed. And at last, the unity of all instruments are the main key of the music.

Intermediate musicians should already able to play this song. Arrangement, Execution and extra interpretation are expected from musicians with higher levels.

Lyric Translation

I decided to use the lyric and translation from Anime Lyric. However, another great translation had been made by Words of Songs . On th first part (A1), there is a bit differences of translation, especially from subject's view. The Anime Lyric version is more as first person doing the action, while Words of Songs version is where the first person ask the second person to do the action. If you compare the second part (B1), the subjects are also different. The Anime Lyric use "we", while Words of Songs use "I".

So who's right or wrong? None of them. It's possible to interpret in this way, because in Japanese, the subject was rarely mention, especially in a song. This gives you an opportunity to compare and even do your own interpretation. As musician and lyricist, this will be a bonus thing, because you might learn something from this song.

Whoa.. I just browse deviantart.com to find any other transcribers working on Japanese anime/film/drama/video games sheet music and end up to see Bespinben works. He made both swf (flash) files for seeing the actual game conversation, the midi file, and of course the sheet music itself as pdf.

It is not really hard to play, but I think it suits intermediate level for piano. For other instruments, just simplify the notes to suit your instruments.

Omoi - Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto

A kinda soft and sad, Omoi is one of beautiful combo of piano and violin. Overall, it is not too hard to play, if everything is executed with piano. I don't know about playing using flute. But pretty possible it is still easy. If you're not so sure as Beginner, please consult your music mentor. At very least, I am sure this composition can be played by Beginner-Intermediate level student.

If no pianist as accompaniment, then I think classic guitar should be able to handle the chords part. I think it also give a beautiful impact to overall music performance. Harp might also worked. So, do some experiment and see what's work.

The word Omoi can be roughly translated as 'thought'. The anime itself contained mystery, action, and love story in the whole package. When I heard this composition, I sometimes thought about the love story there. What was that all about? Well.. I can't really tell. It might spoil the story :D

Nakama - Naruto Shippuuden

Oh, it's double post today.
I was so busy, so I postpone my posts.

So, first of all, happy lunar new year or chinese new year for you who celebrate. Akemashita omedetou gozaimasu!

Back to the music. For some people, friends might not considered as 'love', so it might not fit the 'valentine' theme. But I found that most of Japanese manga/anime/film/games valued friends and friendship just in the same way as they valued love stories.

So I decided to bring up this soft music because I think to younger people, friendship in Naruto is something that inspired them. I saw many fan art based on "team" or just the whole kids of Naruto were drawn.

Anyway, the music is not so hard. I am expecting Beginners to try with whatever instruments you have. This is still the best to play as group, however, performing as duo (accompaniment and main solo) are also creating the same effect. If guitarist is not available, a pianist or keyboardist should be able to take care the accompaniment section.

Fulfilling the request.
So this is the main theme for the anime version. I won't suggest you to watch due to the theme, which much more for adults.

I won't say the music is easy. I would recommend this for up from Intermediate students. If you are a violinist, the positions might be challenging. Intermediate may try but Intermediate-Expert violinist should be able to work on those positions. For piano, I think it will be challenging if you can try to 'mimic' the harp sounds, which definitely stunning.

Playing this music is actually interesting because there lies the emotions, which you have to deliver, like waves; from one emotion to another.

hi guys!

I found out that this month is our very best time. The people view this website is already over our expectation. The clicks are reaching over 10,000. This is the first time in a month we had that many view. Thank you!

February is coming. For most people, it's love story time but I think, it is the best to leave the word love universal. I have no real plan of theme to put on Feb, but possibly I will put music of 'love' with different taste, meaning, and concept. It will come from thriller, horror, or just a normal romantic story. Hopefully I can do most of them soon.

So, happy February and again, thanks for keep coming. By the way, we just successfully paid the domain renewal and things that related to it. Thanks again for your support. I gamble myself by using a new internet connection, paid by myself (is $20 per month expensive for 4G internet?), where I can research for music much much faster, including to update this web much efficient than before.

I can assure you that some interesting titles are already on the list, which includes Sankarea, Jormungand, Priceless (film), Ano Hana, and many more.

Driftveil City - Pokemon White/Black

From Pokemon White/Black series, this is Driftveil City, made by Daichi-samax. Note that this sheet music is made for flute, so she had transposed it to suitable key signature that affords flute.

Not a very easy music. I would say that this has a little jazz and disco in the same time. The jazz style is especially on chords and specific bars. The sheet music here is not accompanied with chords, so you have to figure it out yourself. I won't recommend for Beginners. Beginner-Intermediate players may try, as you need some challenge in your skill. Up from Intermediate, players must be able to resolve any difficulties from this music.

The download page is two. One is a direct download which only provide the PDF sheet. The other one is a ZIP of MIDI and the PDF.

P.S: I find it interesting that Satou Hitomi and Satou Naoki have same kanji for their family name (佐藤). Are they related one each other? Are they sibling? That will be questioned.. ;)
However, I found a website with named "Satou Hitomi" (same Kanji as written in Hitomi Satō - Bulbapedia ) and claimed as an architect. So.. one of the source might be wrong. I decide that in my Composer List, it is still written in that kanji (佐藤仁美). If any of you have an accurate information, please share it to us. Thank you!

Gunzou - Ryoumaden (drama/taiga)

Another work from Satou Naoki. I think this is one of the biggest work he had ever handled. The scale of project was big. A tale of Sakamoto Ryouma - though it was a fiction, might considered as one of the heroes in pre-modern Japan, and was believed as a person whom brought the vision of New Japan. Sadly, I personally had never watched this drama though I really really wish to!

The music itself wasn't too complicated but the accompaniment sounds are quite tricky. I think I love the harmonious chords that made the whole score sounded 'grande'.

For violinist, I think the sound was located 1 octave higher than what I wrote in. So, possibly the Intermediate to Expert musician/students would executed this score better. For Beginner-Intermediate, just play as it is written in the sheet.

As much as possible, this sheet is for any woodwinds and brass section that is able to be played on Clef of G. So if any of you need the clef of C or clef of F, let me know.

Itazura Natsu Tsumujikaze - Fuujin Monogatari

Nice music from Fuujin Monogatari, or sometimes called as Windy Tales. Notes are pretty basic, so Beginners can use it as a etude for staccato exercises. I have no idea how hard it is to play with flute, so the "Beginners" I am talking about is for piano students.

Chords might be a little challenging. If piano or keyboard is not available, then I think guitar still can give a nice impact. So just try.

Can't talk too much tonight. I'm pretty exhausted with all the work I am doing. Guess I need extra sleep :D

Zannen Waltz - Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae

Love this orchestra waltz. The sound is pretty creepy, well, not so creepy but has the sense where you can feel the 'horror'.

It's not so hard to play but pretty challenging for Beginner-Intermediate students with so many chromatic notes. For accompaniment, it is surely a challenge with so many 'diminish' sounds.

For those whom interest about composition, this is an interesting piece you should study. If you wish to make a creepy music but still has sense of 'classic', then this piece is a good start.

Even though Uta no Prince-sama personally disappointed me, I don't mind feature any other transcribers whom willing to transcribe it. So, here from our own partner Daichi-samax.

Note that this is mainly for flute but possibly pretty easy for violin as I just read through. It is still possible to play in first position for violin. I would say this suit the best for Intermediate players, but Beginner-Intermediate can try.

This is one of the thrilling music made by Satou Naoki. The fact that it doesn't sound 'too hard' is quite tricky. Working on the full arrangement was totally fun. The chords are mostly "ornamental" with eery feeling. There was a lot of "diminish" chords. For the notes, if played by violinist, it surely suits the students up from Intermediate. The most challenging parts are starting from Part A' to Outro.

For musician with other instrument(s), please make your own adjustment. Viola might a bit close to play to violin, while execution with woodwinds - for example - might very different. Consult your teacher/mentor.

And for those whom interest to composition, I think this can be used as your study (basic level) since everything here is not too complicated yet.

Some of you might knew about Waterboys, the drama versions but this is the original one, the film that went to several film festival and brought nice responses from audiences. Composer was not Satou Naoki but Shimizu Hitomi. The music is much lighter more comedic and relaxing in general.

I transcript one of them and I think this one suites Beginners to Beginners-Intermediate. The sounds in original was like harmonica or accordion, but you can change it into melodeon or pianica. Or try with instrument you are mastered because it might brought a different way and sense.

First post from a request. Guess this is a nice way to open our new days on 2013. The music is beautiful, graceful, yet bold and clear. I wish, this music can represent your resolution or determination on this year.

I would say that this music is a signature work of Sawano. This style of music, you can mostly find in Iryu. Though of course the taste is different, but you can see the same style. I might work on Iryu again, to get you something that close to this music.

Anyway, I won't say that the music is easy, nor too hard. I think, if everything is forced to normal octave, then at least Beginner-Intermediate have chance to play. In this case, your main difficulty is the fact that the music has several different key signatures. However, if you want to play with technique and difficulty, I think it suits Intermediate level. For violinist, if you play as you hear on the sample, it's definitely for up from Intermediate level.

For those whom interest on composing music, this composition is interesting to be studied. The fact that it had so many different key signatures, along with different part/theme - where no repeating part was happening, was not an ordinary music. I remembered I once worked on composition where the theme had never repeated: F.O.E from Devil May Cry (not trancribed, but just doing a composition study with my teacher) and Goemon Main Theme (Reprise) from Goemon.

Guess this is my last post for this year. :)
We are grateful to know that this year is an awesome year, though we face a lot of difficulty. The visitors significantly increase and that boost our spirit to move on.

A lot of change and adjustment are taken for this year, from sticking with schedule (which is hard..), adding youtube, and reviving our tumblr project. We are happy that our tumblr has more original posts and we're thanking those artist in deviantart whom let us to share their art.

As we have problem with attachment in deviantart, we reform our way to store our files. Now we are using online storage that provide free service.

For this year, at least we gather around $30 which is awesome! That's really help though we need to add some more. Most of the money come from shopper at our zazzle store, the download links, and extra game links.

For 2013, more projects from different titles we haven't worked before will be up. Some are one the way, like Sakamichi no Apollon, Sankarea, and Jurmongand.

We would love to revive the Forum.. but with one person doing everything, seems too much right now. But we don't mind if any of you want to help on the Forum. Just leave us a comment!

We might consider website or program that help us collecting donation and able to show how much we get. But this is not yet our priority.

So.. in the end, I wish all of you will have a brighter days on 2013. Thank you for all the kindness, support, comments, that make us survive all the difficulties. Hope to see you all, very very soon in 2013!

Just Another Day - Persona -trinity soul-

This is another great music from Persona -trinity soul-
It might be a duo guitars. but if accompaniment wasn't able to execute, then change it into piano, mandolin, or other suitable instruments. I think, even for solo, changing guitar into woodwinds would also result the best. Other than these, you just need to try.

This sheet is good as an etude for those who want to learn about additional sharps or neutralize it back in a composition. This will be good for beginners or at least beginners-intermediate level.

Overall, though it sounds simple, this composition is pretty tricky. I needed time to get all the chords on place because most of the chords are not so standard. You find a lot of harmonization and extra sounds that makes this composition a true beauty. So, for those who wants to study about composition or cracking composition, please study this sheet and hear the sample as well.

My work is basically had been simplified. In many case, I can't put all harmony in. However, I do my best to sound as close as it can. So who knows you can transcribe better than me? Would love to share it here!!

Setsunasa no Yoin - Tokimeki Memorial -OL-

I am back! I've been hibernate myself. It seems I reach my limit of continuous work. The break, somehow, refresh some of my power.

So here it is, a beautiful sounds from Tokimeki Memorial Only Love. The tune is simple -- well, at least, that's what I hear. The biggest challenge goes for violinist(s), where they have to play on high octaves. Means that they will need to master higher positions such as 5th to 7th, in my opinion. I haven't tried using violin, so this is only my assumption. The most crucial for violin is part A1'. However, feel free to lower it to fit your capability. Originally, the score is played with flute/woodwinds, guitar, piano, and strings. You can transform it into solo if you want, or change most/entire instruments.

I personally love this tune because it feels like you can see the stars when listening to it.

Never watch the anime or read the manga, but seems it's quite a booming work. I saw it everywhere. So, I just want to know about the music score, and I think I love some of them.

This is my choice that I think suitable for Beginners. Seems I pampered the Beginners and Beginners-Intermediate, but Advance musician, please wait. I have some works on the way that is suitable for you. :D

The music is pretty easy. I think the combination of piano and guitar here are beautiful to be heard. Feel free to add more musician to join and play together if you want. It's very possible. Taking care all part by single instrument like piano, is also possible. Guess the music is fun and calm. So I hope you guys have a great time to play it.

Just go around the deviantArt to see any transcriber work on any anime or game sheet music. Then I found this interesting sheet music.

Noiporcs made this transcript of Kingdom Hearts. It's not an easy tune, if played by violin. So, I would think that at least a Intermediate level violinist may try this. Position is depended on how easy you reach the notes. I would say that 5th or 6th position is the one you can try. However, on my search at youtube, a violinist perform in pretty high position. And it's not really clear whether he played on the same key as Noiporcs or not. But this is a good example on how to treat a music as duet.

If taken care by piano, i think Noiporcs is pretty easy to be taken care by at least Beginner-Intermediate students. Ignore the youtube version, because it is definitely for Intermediate-Expert and Expert musician. :D
