God's Little Gift Shop Joins Independence Flea Mart

Everyone who shops at Flea Marts does so because of the bargains you find, both new and used merchandise, furniture and collectibles. But now a new booth has opened up at the Independence Flea Mart. It sells some really pretty jewelry, all hypo-allergenic and set with crystals or CZs. They have a good selection of cross necklaces and the prices range from a mere $5.99 to $8.99. Now, I've noticed they[re placeing all their necklaces in a little gold box, just perfect for the approaching Christmas season. Along with the cross necklaces are post hypo-allergenic ear rings for a value price of $4.99. Last week they added Bible Covers (Cases). Some of fabric, some are fake leather, some have verses on the front of the case and some have beautiful diamond-like crosses on cases designed to look like they are made of alligator. Their prices range from $12.99 to $21.99. If you're looking for an inspiration gift for Christmas and live nearby, it might be worth your time to check out their products, they are located in booth G7.

Everyone loves t-shirts, they're comfortable and some of them look pretty cool. Whether you are a sports enthusiast or animal lover, you'll find a t-shirt at the flea mart that you just can't do without. I've placed a picture on this post of the newest hot t-shirt at the mall. It's located at G7 and it's only $6.00. Soon, this vendor is going to adding XXL and XXL t-shirts to her booth. I asked her about the price, and she said they would be a little more expensive, probably around $8.99, because her price for the larger T's is more. So, if you're a biker enthusiast or if you come from the south, you're gonna want this fantastic t-shirt.

That's right, Vendor G7 has added some really good values on authentic name brand colognes. In fact, if you see her when she's cleaning up her booth and ask her for a specific fragrance, she'll get it for you if she can. Some of her newest additions include the following:

Plans to start to add the old favorites are in place now, some of the fragrances that will be added soon will include Giorgio of Beverly Hills fragrances, Chloe, a whole line of Revlon's Charlie, stuff for the kids, like Hannah Montana, and even some Disney fragrances. I hope this vendor can keep her prices down on all the name brand fragrances. This is a fantastic place to buy cologne.

Not sure they have what you want, call them. Their friendly staff will check for you. But remember, this is a huge market, you'll need to clarify you're calling to see if G7 still had the fragrance you're looking for in stock. Layaway Now Available At Independence Indoor Flea Market

I knew our Independence Indoor Flea Market offers layaway and I understood it to be a real benefit to the folks that were selling expensive antiques, furniture, electronics or appliances. But I just didn't get the whole picture.

The other day when I went to the mall to bring in some new t-shirts for my booth, I decided to just walk around the mall and see all the new stuff the other vendors had brought in.

As I was casually strolling through the mall I spotted this gorgeous pink handbag in one of the booths. As I came closer, I couldn't believe my eyes; this was a brand new genuine Coach handbag. I cautiously looked at the tag and found two very welcome words, "Layaways Accepted."

That's when it dawned on me, we have actually entered a new "Flea Market Era." With the current financial environment and all the uncertainty of jobs, the indoor flea markets have become the new choice for entrepreneurs who don't want the financial obligation of opening a store and having to deal with all the overhead and employees. It's so much easier to rent a booth, let the flea market employees sell for you 7 days a week, keep your booth stocked and pick up your proceeds at the end of the month.

You can experiment with what you want to sell by ordering just the minimum purchase. You can change your merchandise line as easy as changing your mind. And you don't have to gamble with your families financial security. Perhaps the indoor flea market will eventually rival the strip malls, you certainly will get better prices and now, it seems, you'll get quality as well.

Vendor Booths Filling Fast

If you have been considering becoming a Vendor at either the Blue Springs or Independence Flea Mart - HURRY! The word is really getting out and vendors are coming in from all over. Some are interested in the Independence Flea Mart consignment opportunity. This doesn't cost them anything upfront and they just put their products in the furniture room. Doesn't matter if you don't live close, just stick it in there. Then when it sells, you get paid. But, if you are CONSIDERING this, better get it in gear because the mall is filling up fast.

If you would like to join the mall as a vendor, but what you want to sell are nick knacks that are just cluttering your home or in boxes in your basement, that's fine. The mall actually will rent out shelf space, just rent what you think you will need. There are no long contracts, it's just month to month. Take advantage of this opportunity to turn your storage into easy cash.

In this economic environment, everyone needs a little extra cash, everyone is being very careful with their funds. Most of the other vendors are in the same boat, that's why they are very considerate when selling their merchandise. Our vendors do not charge retail, they aren't interested in making a fortune, they don't have a lot of overhead like the large retail chains, and they don't have the resources to buy in huge quantities. They are folks just like you that are trying to do their best and make a little extra cash by doing something that they love, bartering and selling.

Whenever you are close to Kansas City, it would be worth your time and trouble to pop by and see us. I guarantee you'll have a great time; there is so much to see. There is no admittance charge like some indoor flea markets, just come in and browse around and enjoy yourself.

I am a vendor at two indoor flea markets. They are both great, one is bigger than the other. One (Blue Springs) has been open for over a year. The indoor flea market in Independence just opened this year (5-1-09). Below is more specific information about both flea markets

This market is brand new, but the booths are really filling up fast. Even though we have only been open for less than a month, the foot traffic we are receiving is fantastic. The building, which used to be a Circuit City, is large and sits right beside HyVee in a very busy part of Independence. Unlike some indoor flea markets, we do not charge a "entry" fee. We are open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday we are open from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM.

This is a smaller, but fascinating flea market. Here you'll find everything from pepper spray, air sports guns, dolls, antiques, furniture, fishing lures, movies, books, video games, jewelry, and much more. All the prices are way below retail, you'll really enjoy just walking around and checking it out. The vendors are active and are always bringing in new stuff, and most of the vendors have been in the flea market since it opened. See something you like but would like to pay just a little less, tell the friendly staff. They will actually call the vendor to tell them they have an offer for the product. It's great! This flea mart is open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM.

If you're in Kansas City or the surrounding area, you really need to just load up your kids and come on in. It's free to just come in and walk around; but don't be surprised if you don't find at least ONE thing you can't to without.

Indoor Flea Markets Are The Best

Finally, you can go to the flea market whenever you choose. There's no entry fee, there's lots of active vendors who bring in new stuff every week. You never know who you will see or what bargains you will find.

There's old stuff and new stuff but NOTHING is retail, everything's a bargain. I love to just wonder around the marts. Even though I am a vendor at both of these malls, I'm just one, they have many, many others. The selection is fantastic. The vendors all enjoy being in the mart and keep their booths fully stocked.

Some specialize in their passion, like we have this one guy who does air brush t-shirts, and he's really good. One guy sells old iron antiques, I guess that's what you'd call it; like horseshoes and other stuff I don't even know what they are, rusty but interesting. One lady loves designer purses, so she sells designer purses at a discount.

You'll find games and sport air guns, pepper spray, toys, children's and adult's clothing, some new, some gently used; but all at fantastic prices. I get all my Avon at one of the booths in Independence, and the prices are always sale prices. It's great; I don't have to wait until what I want comes on sale, it's there in the booth.

I've included some pictures of some of the booths that are currently in the Independence Flea Mart. This flea mart just opened May 1, 2009, so as of this article, it hasn't even been open a month. It's huge, and it's already filling up fast.

If you live in Missouri and you are looking for a place to sell your merchandise, whether it's new stuff you can't move in your business, or stuff that's been sitting around in your basement for years, you need to come out NOW before all the booths are sold.

But, if you are interested in putting furniture, antiques, and yes, even clothing, the mall will accept it on a consignment basis, so you aren't out anything upfront. They have a special "wall" that they have designed for artists to display their paintings. They even have "shelf space" you can rent, if that meets your needs.

But please don't delay. This flea mart is held in a building that used to be Circuit City and it's on the corner of 40 Hwy and Noland Road. If you're familiar with Independence, Mo, you know what I'm saying. The foot traffic at this location is huge and so if the amount of profit you can make from renting a booth.

Don't get me wrong, I don't own the flea mart, I'm just a vendor. But I've always believed that a flea market is just as good as it's vendors. So, competition is key to building a growing flea market. The better the vendors, the better the savings, the better the flea market.
