<description> The American Nonsmokers Rights Foundation is a national repository of local tobacco related ordinances and regulations in the United States. Each quarter, the ANR Foundation releases lists of places with 100% smokefree air. According to their April 1, 2008 report, almost 150 colleges and universities in the U.S. with entirely smokefree campuses (although 33 of these campuses allow smoking in limited, remote outdoor areas).</description>

<description> The California EPA Air Resources Board recently declared secondhand smoke to be a toxic air contaminant, putting this byproduct of cigarette smoking in the same category as diesel exhaust, and arsenic. Secondhand smoke contains more than 4,000 chemical compounds. At least 43 of these compounds have been demonstrated to cause cancer in humans and animals (Brownson, Eriksen, Davis, and Warner, 1997). </description>
