Fellow readers of Misadventures. Slowly but surely, I'm making the transition of moving this blog to it's new home on Tumblr. Head on over to it's new digs at Misadventures on Tumblr. Update your bookmarks, rss readers, or if you're a member of tumblr become a follower. You can comment on posts without having to sign up for anything. I've already got a good amount of goodies posted on there like photos I take while waiting on set and things that I find interesting. I'll be updating that one more frequently maybe sometimes multiple times a day. And I wouldn't want you to miss out on the fun. :)

I'm still keeping my food blog (Bread + Butter) where it is, so if you follow that you have nothing to worry about. I really appreciate those of you, if any, who have read my ramblings on this blogger page and hope you'd join me as this blog moves house. I'll still probably keep this page up as because heck...I've got 200+ posts I've written in the last 3/4 years that I may want to read back on.

Right now I'm feeling both of those words. I am determined to get my work done, to get my film made, to accomplish my goals. I'm inspired by those who support me and by things and persons I've seen. It's almost like a burst of energy rushing through.

Happy Halloween!!! The ghouls and goblins are coming out to play tonight.

But first...I've also started doing a daily photo blog of sorts. Please visit, if you want. Add it to your bookmarks and/or readers. I really appreciate all you readers who take your time to reads all my ramblings. I may eventually end up using that as the permanent home for Misadventures. Or I may keep this one as for primarily news on current projects and the other one for my random musings. I don't know just yet. Anyway... Now back to the subject of Halloween. I'm a little excited to watch the premiere of a new show called The Walking Dead. Finally, zombies on TV!!! We've already for vampires. (i.e. True Blood)

Whip Your Hair Mash Up

Ok I have to admit that the new song "Whip your Hair" from Willow Smith is pretty catchy. Btw...she's Will Smith's 9-year-old daughter, if you didn't already know. "I whip my hair back and forth, I whip my hair back and forth!"

Anyway...I saw the original video and thought it was ok. Thought I would get whiplash or something from al the hair turning. Then it would have been a matter of time before someone did a mash up of the song. Taking the Sesame Street clip of "I love my hair" (how appropriate was that) and editing it to the tune of the song you've got yourself a funny vid. Glancing at the calendar and I realize that October is half gone. Actually...it also means that this year is almost done. Halloween is in a couple weeks, followed by Thanksgiving, then Christmas and before we know it it'll be new year once again. Yeesh!! Maybe it's just me, but time really is going by way too fast. Or it's a sign of getting older. I dunno. Don't really want to think about that. I'm just going to try and make the most of what's left of this year. I've got plans and I intend to do them. Or at least try to do them.

Anyway... funny video for the week.

Saw a friend blog about this. It's funny and cute at the same time. I probably watched this a few times already. It's hilarious.

I had a near predicament last week when my trusty old powerbook decided to go on to greener pastures. It's about time anyway. The thing was chugging it's way to its final moments for about a year now. It was cringe inducing to know that at any moment the hard drive would give out. And so it did...on a tuesday. Not to mention that it is 5-6 years old. By technology standards -- that's like obsolete now.

What's the worse part is that...it hinders me from doing my work, writing and research for a projects. Luckily, right before it decided to die on me, I managed to back up all my important files. Phew!!!

Let's just say the days that followed were a little...odd. My fingers are used to constantly typing all day long. Yes, I'm addicted to technology. Luckily, an angel helped me out and I was able to get myself a new toy. I've gone pro. Now I'm able to continue with my work and research and fb and... and... do my coffeeshop writings once again without having to worry if the hard drive will suddenly combust.

Now it's back to business once again. I'll eventually get the hard drive switched out of the powerbook when I get some $$$ once again. It's still useful. Give that one to someone who's in need of a "well-cared" computer.

I've had this song in my head all day yesterday. Not sure why. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome great song. Puts one in a mellow mood. Sometimes I wonder what's going on in the inner caverns of my mind to make me think such things. I do sometimes feel like flying like an eagle...metaphorically speaking.

I've been debating on whether to move this blog to another forum like wordpress or tumblr. I'm mulling it over and I'm leaning towards moving it. I don't know. I guess I'll just have mull it over just a little bit more. Though...I've had this one since 2007. Hmmm....

Reflecting back to the first half of the year, I sometimes wonder...what in the world have I accomplished? It all seems like a big blur. I guess that may be a good thing meaning I've kept myself busy. Though, I would like to remember what those things that kept me occupied. There have been difficult times, where I felt my future was sort of in question. But that fear has subsided a bit as I'm more determined now to make my future a good one.

I guess a little meditation and reflection or something else all together was all I needed to jolt me awake. I would add the support I've always gotten from my close confidants and colleagues. Always believing that I can accomplish anything I set my sights on.

Why all this doubt and second guessing? I don't know. At least it helps push me to get things done!

A week ago, I survived another one of my productions. This time with me calling the shots behind the camera (again). It's been a while since I've done a project of my own. I've been craving for it for quite a long time and it finally came to fruition.

I'm really excited for this one. It's really been something I've wanted to shoot for quite a long time. I must say I did have a great group of people on my crew working with me. Few of them I've known for years. Some only recently. I love working with people I know, trust and who can get the job done as it makes the production run smoother. Now onto the third phase of any film. Post-production. This is where all the things in the pot come together into a delicious product. I've set my goals on this one and I'm determined to get it done. Of course, I wouldn't leave you all in the dark into it's progress. This is like my baby. Well...as are all my projects.

It's been a busy week for me. It will be an even busier this coming week. Shooting my new project next weekend, so all things are coming together. Putting all those small final details into place. I'm counting down the days. It's odd to think that it's only DAYS left!! Ok...must not think about that too much. There's still work to be done. Phase one is nearly complete. Right now, I'm a mixed bag of emotions. Each one at odds with each other. So I try to stay neutral as much as possible.

Anyway...below is a music video to a song that I've been listening to lately. It's called The High Road by Broken Bells. It's a really cool mellow song.

To be working on what I know and do best is a great feeling. Really excited to be behind the camera once again. I have good feelings about this current project and those working with me. I have my cast, my location, crew is coming along great...slowly, but surely all the details and necessary elements are coming together.

It's been a few years since I last shot something of my own work. I've been craving it for quite a long time already. Pre-production is always a stressful time, but it's the kind of stress that I enjoy. Once actual production gets under way...then the excitement really builds. As all the preparation is all for that moment. How will it go? What will be the final outcome? We'll just have to wait and see. I have until the end of this month.
