Stock up on all the cashew nuts you can get your hands on and you could soon be rich.

The Japanese, who seem to be acting like they’re running out of raw materials to manufacture devices, have taken to making mobile phones out of cashew nut shells – a concept that can change the status of cashews, if not give nuts some unfamiliar attention.

The phone is costlier than any of the other phones, simply because it is made of a special amalgamation of materials that is said to have almost 70 percent of cellulose and cardanol.

So next time you’ve nibbled on some cashews, think twice before you throw the shells away!

If you have trust issues or are simple someone like me who loves spy cams, then this gadget is a must-buy.

The Motion Activated Wall Switch Spy camera does exactly what its name suggests. It detects motion in a room and gets switched on automatically, recording the audio and video in a room in a jiffy.

The exciting bit, for all those who are concerned about their electricity bill, is that this device does not drink up your power. It can be left for a maximum of 13 days and records almost 6 hours of footage, on small discs in the system.

I am a huge fan of Monopoly and have spent hours playing it with my friends. But the one thing I never actually questioned is whether the ‘GO’ square was actually a real place.

Ordnance Survey – a mapping firm – figured out the exact location of the real ‘GO’ square using a digital mapping device. As it turns out, the location is right next to the famous Albeit landmark in London, between Old Kent Road and Mayfair (as on the board).

While this is interesting, I can’t help wondering whether this firm really had nothing better to do than figure this out.

Nike is seeking a patent for a shoe that laces itself. I wonder how that would work. Do you put your foot it and it magically works it stuff like in the movies?

It is interesting to note that a while ago, someone had come out with a self lacing shoe but it was not pretty and didn’t sell. I mean who wants to walk around in ugly sneakers even if it is self lacing?

I hate it when I’m lying in bed exhausted but I’m just not able to sleep, especially when I have my Hug Me Pillow and I still cant drop off.

Dreamate Sleep Inducer is a device that is said to solve that problem. You wear the device like a watch and within half in hour, they say, you’d be snoring like a fat old baby.

The secret behind this is an acupuncture massage on a so-called ‘sleeping golden triangle’ on your left wrist which helps to relief stress and knocks you out (in a good way). The major benefit is that the effect can be seen in less than a week and within eight weeks – the sales pitch says that we would have our usual sleeping pattern back.

I think this is definitely worth a try, especially if its being sold only for $79.99. There is no price on a good nights rest.

If you have a heart for those stray birds that bang against your glass pane in
flight, then I probably think this was made just for you.

Arnold Glas – a German company – created a spider web glass that while look
like an ordinary pain to us, can be seen as a huge web to the birds. The secret
behind it is an ultraviolent coating that diverts birds away from the pane.

With statistics showing that around 100 million birds die by banging into a
window pane, I guess we can say that this is the pane to go with from now on.

Ever heard of a robot that does different tasks? Well… that’s old news now, but some scientists were able to teach a robot to pair clean socks together.

The robot when given two socks, examines them and classifies them as ‘inside’ or ‘outside’ and after doing that, flips the sock to make it right, and then pairs them together.

The PR robot – Willow Garage – was taught this trick by a “Sockification” team who won $5000 for this feat.

I have often been grossed out when people talk about the possibility of surviving on their own urine. But with the way the world is progressing, it may soon be the case.

I hope your mind (and stomach) didn’t do the somersaults with the previous statement but chemical engineer Gerardine Botte came up with a means of generating energy through urine.

The Botte team reported last year that they had been able to generate hydrogen from urine and confidently stated that progress was being made towards the successful creation of such a device.

So the next time you really have to pee, make sure you collect it. It may come in handy, if you run out of gas.

The scary part about driving cross country is the way those wild deers chose to dart across the road at the exact same time that my car is passing by.

However the Deer Whistle is a new automotive gadget that could probably let me sit back and relax a little bit more. The device works simply. All you have to do is attach the device under your car, as if you are travelling at a speed of over 35 mph, it is said to produce a sound that would make a deer freeze.

The instrument is fitted under the front hood and can be used even by those who are technologically challenged. To add to it all, one can buy it for as low as $7.98.

Buy a plastic bottle of drinking water and you get some gas for free!

No, this isn’t an advertising campaign launched by a mineral water manufacturing unit, but an idea conceived in Japan, that is almost revolutionary, at a time in history when the whole world is obsessed with the possession of oil.

The Japs have succeeded in putting together a machine that can convert plastic into oil – whether gasoline, kerosene or diesel. The innovative device has an ability of converting a kilo of plastic into 1 l of oil. And the best thing of all is that it’s environmentally safe.

My bet is that this is the world’s future. This device is bound to change the world.
