Selected in Official Competition, Jacques Audiard sets Marion Cotillard in the role of Stephanie who after an accident sees herself losing her legs. Mikros image created all visual effects for this movie inspired on a Craig Davidson’s book.

The story :
Under a baobab tree, an old man tells a story to the children around him: the story of the everlasting friendship between Maki, a little boy aged 10, and Zarafa, an orphaned giraffe, a gift from the Pasha of Egypt to th King of France, Charles X.
Hassan, Prince of the Desert, is instructed by the Pasha to deliver Zarafa to France. But Maki has made up his mind to do everything in his power to stop Hassan from fulfilling his mission and to bring the giraffe back to its native land – even if it means risking his own life – because he must fulfill his promise to Zarafa’s late mother.
During an epic journey that takes them from Sudan to Paris, passing on the way through Alexandria, Marseille and the snow-capped Alps, they have many adventures, crossing paths with the aviator Malaterre, a pair of unusual twin cows called Mounh and Sounh, and the pirate queen Bouboulina.

Screened Sunday May 18th at Cannes Festival during the “séances de minuit” (midnight screenings, the new movie from Gilles Marchand, Black Heaven, mixes virtual and real world. Sequences from virtual game “Black Hole” have been entirely completed in full CGI by studio WFX, Mikros image’s subsidiary in Belgium.

Feature film | Don’t look back

Don’t look back is the new film from director, Marina de Van. The film centres on the life of Jeanne - played by Sophie Marceau- suffering identity troubles. Jeanne will progressively see her face change.

Mikros image worked closely with the director to realise the visual effects that were a crucial part of the storytelling process, completing 130 sequences.

Don’t look back opens in France on June 3rd and in Belgium on June 24th.
