Memorial Hospital Pembroke ICU/CCU is an adult inpatient nursing unit that houses 24 Critical Care patient beds. The Critical Care team is comprised of a Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, Clinical Managers, RNs, Respiratory Therapists and Unit Secretaries.

The ARNP is responsible for assisting the physician in the ICU/CCU, with the care and management of critical care patients. This includes making patient rounds; participating with multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care under protocols, physician verbal orders, interacting with consultants, facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of patient procedures and discharge planning.

Successful ARNP candidates will foster patient and family-centered care and work in respectful, supportive and collaborative ways with patients and families.


Experience:
MSN with Clinical requirements for ARNP met. Current Florida ARNP licensure required. BLS and ACLS required. 3+ years experience in Critical Care nursing preferred, 1-2 years experience functioning in an ARNP role highly preferred. The incumbent will be responsible for utilization review and discharge planning activities in the ED. The position also will interview and provide community resources to the elderly patients who have qualified for the ED ACE Program.


Begin utilization review activities in the ED- averting unnecessary admissions and setting up follow up tests as an OP. This is a cost reduction program which proved highly effective during the pilot conducted in December.

Begin Discharge Planning activities in the ED- Assisting with shelter placements after hours and preventing social admissions.

Begin the ED ACE Program to assist the elderly with community resources and ensure a safe discharge to home from the ED.


Experience:
Must have an active Florida RN license. Must have excellent communication skills, compassionate and caring nature, high energy and computer knowledge. Previous ED Case Management experience a plus.
