Fluffy Friday # 16 - Missing Phoebe **

I miss my fluffy Phoebe! We finally took her to the Vet to get spayed so she's there right now, all by herself in the dark. At least that's how I'm picturing poor Phoebe; awaiting her big day tomorrow.

She was driving me nuts with her incessant loud meowing and crying every time she gets in da mood. It was also heartbreaking to see her crying to be let out of the condo and "make new friends" if ya know what I mean?

The whole procedure inclusive of boarding for two nights will cost me approximately RM350. So I hope our Vet does a good job and Phoebe will be okay to come home on Saturday. By the way I saw a huge dog and a ferret at the Vet today, which made me cringe in fear!

Looks like I have to do some cat shopping tomorrow and get a new toy to cheer up my baby girl. Happy Fluffy Friday!

Counting Cash

One dollar, two dollars, three dollars ... instead of happily sleeping with Phoebe, I am sadly counting my money right now!

You see, I just only transferred some funds from my PayPal into my bank account and in my haste to get my hard-earned cash, I totally forgot that I have to renew my domain name for Meow Diaries soon! So now I have less than 7 bucks in my PayPal, which is insufficient to renew my domain name.

Usually I'd ensure enough funds in my PayPal account to finance my monthly blogging needs like advertising on Adgitize or paying for the service of a new widget. But lately I have been so distracted by the seemingly endless blog issues affecting my other two blogs that it totally slipped my mind to leave some money in my PayPal account for my domain name renewal.

The good news however is that I am not using paid or dedicated hosting for my blog so I don't have to allocate funds for that purpose. I am still depending on Blogger to host my blog for free so all I need to do every year is renew my domain name. MM - American Idol Top 16 **

When Michael Lynche aka Big Mike gave his first great performance singing It's a Man's Man's World on American Idol, I thought it was a fluke. I was still not convinced of his vocal prowess. Last week however, all that changed when he wowed us once again with an amazing smooth rendition of Maxwell's This Woman Works. Hands down, this was B's fave performance from the guys and I agree with his choice... I gotta say Big Mike was simply superb last week! Happy Music Monday!

Fluffy Friday # 15 - My Fluffy Blankey **

This is Chubbs' first time taking part in Fluffy Friday! Can you Chubbs blending nicely with my fluffy grey MTV blankey? I love this blankey by the way. It's a gift from B of course and it is so soft and fluffy I cannot sleep without it. No matter how stressed I am; if I slip under the covers and pull the blankey around me, the plush feel of the fluffy blankey underneath my fingers is oh so soothing...and cooling. I'm not sure what material it's made of but this is the only fluffy blankey that cools me down.

Looking at how comfy Chubbs is snuggling on my fluffy blankey, I guess he too can't get enough! Happy Fluffy Friday!

Missed Vacation!

Did I tell you that B was supposed to go to Los Angeles back in Jan? And I was planning to tag along too! Can you imagine me being in LA after so many years since my last visit?

One thing for sure, it would have been the ultimate vacation for me but as luck would have it, B had to undergo his recent surgery a few weeks before his scheduled departure. So after much discussion and taking into account his recovery process, which would take at least two weeks, we decided that LA can wait.

The last time B had a work assignment in LA, he had a ball interviewing Zac Efron and the rest of the HSM2 cast and no ... he did NOT get an autograph for me who was left behind then! So I do hope I get to return to LA one fine day. Not just to spot some hot celebs but also to visit the highly-reputed Great Western Forum to catch a Broadway show or an exciting concert there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my boys and my baby girl!! Chubbster and Phoebe turned 4 and 3 years old respectively back in January and today is Benji's 4th birthday!

So it's a triple celebration for my three cats at Meow Diaries today; easier to celebrate all their birthdays in one day! Plus they will all get a special treat tonight for being the cutest, funniest and friendliest meows around!

Master and B love ya kitties so get ready for a whole lot of goodies and lovin' tonight! And your pressie will come - as soon as I figure out the best gift for my playful meows!

Welcome to Meow Diaries' edition of fave American Idol performance on MM! For the next few months, my Music Monday will feature my hubby's pick of fave performance from the currently-aired American Idol. We're both huge fans of the show and I am thrilled to have B grace my cat blog with his song selection every week!

Anyway, B has been an Andrew Garcia fan since day one so it was no surprise that he selected "his guy" for this week's American Idol Music Monday. I actually liked Andrew's performance last week and though he was a little indulgent and all that jazz according to the judges; I still think he did a wonderful job. Happy Music Monday!

Very Cool Runescape Cursors!

My toothache is still bugging me! But thank goodness for this really cool ice pack from Grey's Anatomy! I've been using the ice pack to numb my pain and I have to say it works really great. Either that or I'm just so into Grey's Anatomy that my mind actually makes me believe my toothache somewhat subsides after each use!

So today I'm feeling a little better from my ice-pack session but if the toothache persists, I know the inevitable will follow and you will see me whining about having to go to the dentist next! It's not that I'm a baby when it comes to dentists, but the idea of having to go through any form of pain is just depressing, know what I mean?

Anyway if you missed out my cool cursor post at my main blog, here's a reminder to let you know of a great program called Cursor Mania. This cool program allows you to install a small easy-to-download Runescape Cursors app in your Toolbar, which lets you switch from one cursor to the next with just one click. I find it very entertaining and I use it to suit my daily mood, which of course changes from one to the next too!

There are so many categories to choose from but today I'm in the mood for some cat love, so here we go. So many adorable meows to choose from and they're all MINE!

Have fun with the cursors too if you like. They're FREE and this particular app doesn't seem to slow down my system, so I think it's really cool!

Kitty In Mailbox!

I dream of a fluffy white kitty as my number 4! If a kitty cat suddenly appears inside my mailbox looking this cute, B and I wouldn't have the heart to turn her away!

The reason we're holding back on Kitty number 4 is the lack of space we have to accommodate another cat at home. But if one comes knocking on my door, wrapped in a bow and all, it would be hard for us to say no! Forget about the mail inside my mailbox, this kitty cat would be the most precious package ever to be placed inside my mailbox!

Speaking of mailboxes, I really need to change locks on ours in the mail room. Our condo uses the standard horizontal mailboxes, which is quite small if you ask me. Larger mails and packages often get stuffed inside in the small space, leaving a part of it exposed and visible for any dishonest person to pick up as their own.

I wish we had the vertical Commercial Mailboxes instead, which is bigger in size. Something like the one I spotted at Mailboxixchange would be great for us residents. Aside from over 2500 mailbox and curbside decor products offered at Mailboxixchange, there is also a really cool affiliate program where you will be paid $20 just for signing up. Basically all you have to do is send visitors to Mailboxixchange and if a customer makes a purchase, you will earn a comfy commission on the order so you might want to check it out!

Anyway, we've had several incidents of mail being stolen and tampered with and the last time I picked up the mail, I noticed the latch on my mailbox was loose. I'm not saying somebody tampered with it but it's high time we beef up security for our mail as well. As it is, I'm waiting for several important mails from my banks and I can't afford to have a faulty mailbox...especially since I'm hoping for a fluffy white kitty to appear in mine as well!

Fluffy Friday # 12 - Benji and Master **

Of my three cats, big and fluffy Benji is the most affectionate and friendly. Chubbs is a scaredy-cat and if he is not familiar with you, he will run a mile and hide if you happen to come over for a visit. Phoebe is indifferent. She doesn't mind strangers petting or rubbing her head but that's not to say she welcomes it either. She only loves it when B or Master carries her around for a fluffy hug.

Benji however, is a whole different story. Stranger or not, he will happily bound like a doggie and sniff your feet before dropping his whole weight on them; begging for some snuggles! I love this picture of Benji giving me a wet kiss and trust me; it ain't easy getting a shot of him in action!

Pretty Parrot or Cute Cat?

Before B and I decided to get a pet cat to begin our just-married adventure together, we talked about getting a fish. We wanted a pet we could both share like a lovely pair of goldfish. Fish seemed a tad too common however. Besides, what else can fish do besides swim and look pretty in the water?

So we thought of birds next. It would be cool to have a parrot especially since they're known for their ability to "talk" by imitating human voices. We would have a lot of fun with a talking parrot and I know many pet stores actually sell these clever birds. Thanks to their sociable and affectionate nature, intelligence, bright colours and ability to imitate human voices, parrots make really popular pets.

Did you know that the domesticated Budgerigar, which is a small parrot, is the most popular of all pet bird species? See how pretty?

What's more, the types of parrot cages available nowadays almost convinced me to run out and immediately get a parrot! Check out this Liberta Two Tier Large Parrot Cage for instance. If I was a pet parrot, this is where I want to live. It's spacious, complete with a Playtop, 3 stainless steel feeding cups in the cage and has 3 swing-out feeding doors. There is also a seed catcher which makes for easy cleaning.

Anyway, we were set on getting a bird as our first pet together but then B told me something, which changed our minds. He mentioned that he's always wanted a cat. As a boy he was not allowed to have a cat at home, so unlike me who already had so many cats previously, he was totally enticed and curious to start feeling and acting like a cat owner, which I thought was adorable!

And that's how we ended up with three cute cats as our pets. The parrot was a great idea but it wasn't that practical for condo-living couples like us. Plus cats are more affectionate, adorable, self-cleaning, fluffy and they do make wonderful companions. Thank goodness we found Chubbs, Benji and Phoebe...in that order!

Bring me home Master!

Fluffy Friday # 11 - Paws-Perous CNY! **

I am truly sorry for my tardiness this Fluffy Friday! Busy with work all week, I could not help but fall asleep early yesterday!

It will be Chinese New Year this Sunday and just like we do every year, B & I will be heading to MIL's hometown to celebrate CNY with our Chinese family and friends there. So in the spirit of CNY, my Fluffy Friday will feature this very chubby, very fluffy white meow on display in one of the shopping malls I visited over the week.

Translator at Work

You already know I work from home. Now let me tell you what it is that I actually do inside my home-office daily, rain or shine, night or day...

As a freelance copywriter, my work mainly consists of writing copies for clients. Copies can come in many forms be it a newsletter, a print ad, a brochure and so on. That is my main job. Aside from that the other thing I do almost daily is translate documents from English to Malay or vice versa. Translation forms a pretty huge chunk of my workload and the jobs appear inside my Inbox more often compared to copywriting and editing.

So depending on my workload, working from home at my own pace and time can be extremely fun especially when there's not much for me to do. That's when I get to kick back and spend more time blogging or laze around dropping EC.

Otherwise, you'll find me immerse for days on end in a new translation job that sometimes gets me thinking hard; finding the perfect word...

or panicking when I'm on a ridiculous deadline!

Most days however will find me pretty much content to be where I am right now; being my own boss and working from home on my copywriting and translation jobs. Coffee is always in abundance and my fluffy cats give me the inspiration I need to churn out copy after copy so what more could I ask for?

Speaking of work, I recently registered with Translia, which is an innovative translation service. Offering translators like me a unique new platform to collaborate with other translators and deliver translations in a speedy efficient manner, this program is a must-see for all translators!

I've already registered (FREE) with them a few months back but I've been too occupied with my own clients so I have not checked in with them for quite some time. Plus, I forgot my password! Anyway, they recently sent me an email saying work is aplenty so maybe I'll look into this site again. You can never earn too much for freelancers like me so any money-making opportunity is always welcomed. Will I see you there?

I love kittens the best. They're so small and fluffy and helpless; game for almost anything including being wrapped in a fluffy blanket just like a baby!

A fluffy kitten curled up inside a fluffy blanket, how cute is that? This tiny kitty almost looks like a little monkey doesn't it? Except monkeys aren't as cute, innocent or as fluffy!

Cool Stuff!

Have you heard of PicJoke? I discovered this service last year and since then, I've been a frequent visitor to the site. Whenever I need to create funny pictures online, I'd surely visit PicJoke simply because it's so easy to use. With PicJoke, I can create cool funny pictures within minutes, which I've also featured here a few times. Phoebe has been my model for many of the adorable pictures I've created using this cool application and the last picture I made was used for my Christmas Fluffy Friday.

Aside from its ease of use, PicJoke adds NEW photo effects on a daily basis. Currently, there are more than 100 cool photo effects to choose from. What's more, it takes less than a minute to upload my picture before I get to see my creation. I can come up with so many different pictures using the available effects and since there are so many to choose from, I usually end up with several favourites!
