It’s not a secret that what women say is not really what they mean a lot of the time. This can lead to plenty of misunderstandings with your woman which may lead to quite a few fights as well. There are some common phrases that all women will say at one point or another and they don’t exactly mean what you may think they do.

 
“I’m not angry.”
When a woman says that she is not angry, you must look at her body language instead of the words that are coming out of her mouth. If she is standing with her arms crossed in front of her with pursed lips, she is most likely still angry. She could be avoiding an argument with you, keeping her emotions to herself, or she just doesn’t want to hurt you. Try to deal with the situation as soon as possible as the longer she keeps your anger bottled up inside, the worse the end result is going to be.

 
“I like your friends, but…”
If she adds the word but into this statement you know that she most likely does not like your friends at all or doesn’t enjoy hanging out with them. When she says this instead of coming out and telling you she doesn’t like your friends, she is trying to not hurt your feelings and come across as controlling. You don’t want to bring it up, and then try to figure out why she doesn’t like your friends. Are they a bad influence on you? Do you spend too much time with them? If her reasons for not liking your friends are not valid, such as she just thinks they are dorks, then be sure to tell her that your friends are important and that you are not going to give them up.

 
“I don’t want to ruin our friendship.”
If you ever have a woman tell you this, then this simply means that she is not interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you and is not attracted to you in that way. She simply does not want to hurt your feelings since you are a friend. With this all you can do is to remain her friend or cut things off completely if you can’t just be friends with her.

 
“It’s me, not you” or “I’m just not ready for a commitment right now.”
So, these are definitely lines that are not just used by women, as they are used by both sexes to let a person down easily. Both of these mean that she does not want to be in a serious relationship with you, but doesn’t want to put the blame on your or make you feel bad. Men usually catch on to these phrases pretty well since they use them too.

 
The thing to remember with women is that their body language and tone of voice is going to give you a lot more information on what they really mean than what words are coming out of their mouth. So, the next time your girlfriend says that she is not angry, take a look at her face and her stance to see if she is in fact really angry with you.

Long distance relationships can be very, very difficult and often times they don’t end up working out or the people can’t handle the distance and someone ends u moving. Although, they can be difficult there are some ways to make your long distance relationship as successful as possible. Here are some things to remember when it comes to your next long distance relationship.

 
Communication is key in any relationship but it is really necessary for a long distance relationship to work. You must establish some sort of guidelines and expectations early in the relationship. If you want an exclusive relationship were you don’t date other people, then you must establish that or the person may never what your expectations are. You must also be able to tell the person how you feel on a regular basis. With a long distance relationship you can’t simply see the person when you want and give them a big old hug and kiss, instead you need to make sure that you are expressing your feelings so they know how you feel, both bad and good.

 
Another thing to remember with long distance relationships is that your partner doesn’t get to be involved in your day to day activities. They aren’t the person that gets to see you every day. Many times this is where jealousy comes from in this type of relationship. They may easily get jealous of any other person of the opposite sex that gets to see you or spend some time with you on a regular basis, even if this person is just simply a co-worker or a friend.  Be sure to talk to your partner every day or as often as you can. Involve them in the simple things that you do during the day such as telling them about how work went or telling them about your shopping trip or workout session. When they know what your day is like and what exactly is going on in your life, they don’t seem so far away.

 
Lastly, you need to try to stay as positive as possible. If you are constantly negative that it’s not going to work out, then you may just secretly sabotage your relationship and you may not even know it. Keep the faith and encourage your partner to do the same. A simple thing like a countdown to when you can see each other is a great way to draw excitement into your relationship. When you do get to actually see each other and spend time together, be sure that you make the most out of it. Don’t spend time fighting over petty things. Plan fun things to do and make time in your schedule for to accommodate spending as much time as possible with your significant other.

 
Most people know when they get into a long distance relationship it is not going to be easy, but if you stay positive and are truly dedicated to the relationship, it is possible to have a successful long distance relationship.

The beginning of a relationship always starts out the same. You are on your best behavior, you dress nice, you have proper manners and so forth, but then all of a sudden you start getting a little too comfortable with your girlfriend.  You may start to get lazy and stop doing the nice things that you used to do for her or you stop acting like such a gentleman at all times. You Start Slacking On your Hygiene and Appearance
In the beginning of the relationship, you may have showered every day shaved, combed your hair and looked presentable when going out with your girlfriend. You may soon find that you skip some showers, shave about once a week and your hair hasn’t been cut in over 2 months. Any common sense would tell you that your woman likes to have you fresh and clean and not be totally turned off by your appearance. If you stop caring for yourself, then how are you supposed to care for her?

 
You Stop Complimenting Her
When was the last time that you told your girlfriend that she was pretty or that she looked nice on one your dates? Did you notice when she changed her hairstyle or bought a new dress? If you stop giving your girlfriend compliments she may think that you are not interested anymore and may find another guy to compliment her. This doesn’t mean that you have to compliment her every minute of the day, but pay attention and when a compliment is due, give her one.

 
You Start Getting an Attitude
In the start of the relationship you may have worked out your differences and compromised. You may have been able to control your temper around her, but soon you find that you get complacent and you start getting a major attitude. This is a total relationship breaker for a woman. Women don’t want a guy who has a temper problem or has attitude every day of the week. If you really want your relationship to work with this girl, then you will try to do anything to control your attitude.

 
You Start Taking Her for Granted
This is a huge one when it comes to long term relationships. This not only happens with guys but women do it too. You start taking her for granted when it comes to the normal everyday things. You may stop telling her thank you when she cooks you dinner or picks up your dry cleaning. You may start assuming that every Friday night she comes over your place instead of you going to hers. Women may start out thinking that a guy in a relationship is the perfect guy to get advice from and make friends with, but we have all seen romantic comedies in which these things don’t end very well. The woman soon finds that she is falling for this so-called friend after spending so much time with him. Most of the time in the end the guy must choose between his current woman his newfound friend.

 
Women Can be Bullies
There are always going to be those types of women who just want a taken man to screw over other women. These are the same girls who used to bully others back in elementary school and were the same ones that went on to be total witches in high school. They basically see any other woman as competition. This is especially true if the woman doesn’t like your girlfriend or wife and really has a personal vendetta against her.

 
Women See the Confidence in Taken Men
You know that once you get a girlfriend and you don’t have to look around every place that you walk into for all the single ladies, you exude confidence. It is no mystery, that women are attracted to confident men. Men who are already in a relationship don’t have to worry about impressing others or acting like he has game. Instead he acts like himself and that can really attract other women.

 
Although these are all reasons why women are attracted to men who are already spoken for, the most common reasons are that women want a challenge and they want what they can’t have. This means that just because some girl is coming on to you because she knows that you have a girlfriend doesn’t necessarily mean that she actually wants you or wants to date you. Realize this before you throw your current relationship away.

It’s  normal to get anxious and nervous over a blind date. In fact, if you don’t get nervous and anxious over a blind date then you are the unusual person. There are so many questions and predicaments going through your mind before your blind date. What if she is really not good looking? What if we have absolutely nothing in common? Should I offer to pay for the whole date? What if she stands me up? These are just a few of the many things that are going through your mind before you date. Although you can’t control things such as her standing you up, you can prepare for the blind date so that it goes as smooth as possible.

 
Dress to impress. Even if you are having a picnic at the park or meeting at a very casual place for coffee, try to wear something better than jeans and a t-shirt. If you do wear jeans, then make then nice jeans and pair it with a polo shirt or button-up dress shirt. On the other hand, don’t wear a full suit (unless you are coming from work) to meet her for coffee at the local coffee shop. This may put her off a little thinking you are trying too hard.

 
There are a couple of things to remember when picking the location of the date. Be sure that it is a public place that is usually crowded. This is necessary in case you have to make a quick exit and you don’t want to make a scene. Choose a place that you are somewhat familiar with but not your local watering hole. You want somewhat neutral ground for the both of you. Always set up the date so that you arrive in separate vehicles. Never pick up a blind date in your car as she will feel more comfortable meeting you at the date and this way you can go your separate ways a lot easier than if you had to drive her home.

 
When you actually meet your blind date make sure that you are on your best behavior and practice good manners. This means no burping at dinner or scarfing down the plate of appetizers that you were supposed to share. Be nice and friendly to her even if you have no interest in her. Although it most women will not have a problem going dutch on the bill for a blind date, you can be a real gentleman and pay the whole bill. This is really a good idea if you do like your date and want to potentially get a second date with her.

 
Make sure that you talk about her while on the date. Ask her questions about what she does, her family and casual things of that nature. Don’t ask about ex-boyfriends or if she wants kids or anything serious like that. Listen closely to what she tells you and make sure not to cut her off when she is talking.

 
Lastly, be honest, especially if you want to pursue something more with her. There’s nothing worse that meeting a guy and thinking he is someone else than he really is because he lied about himself for the first couple of dates. Be truthful up front and it will get you farther than you think.

 
With any blind date you want to leave on a positive note. Don’t lead the girl on if you have no interest in her, but tell her you had a good time and leave it at that. 1.  She Doesn’t Ever Call You
Are you always the one that has to call her? And even when you do call her, she never seems to call you back? Get a clue! If she really wanted to talk to you, she would be calling you whenever she wanted. Yes, some women play hard to get, but eventually they will give in and let you know that they want to talk to you. Either she is avoiding you and hoping that you will go away or she simply does not think about you enough to call you back. Never call a woman more than 2x’s in a row. If she doesn’t return your call, move on!

2. She Says She Doesn’t Want a Relationship
This is the ultimate, “it’s not you, it’s me” line. She may tell you that she isn’t ready for a relationship yet or she just wants to be single for awhile. This is the biggest brush-off line that women use to be nice to men. This means that she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with you. If a woman really likes a guy and can see herself with him, she will be in a relationship with him no matter what else is going on in her life. So, if you hear this line from a girl, don’t give it a second thought and find another girl to pursue.

3. She Tries To Set You Up With a Friend
It may have never crossed her mind that you and her would ever be a couple. She may just see you as a friend and now you are stick in that friend zone. If she tries to set you up with a friend of hers, this is a definite sign that’s he sees you as nothing more than a friend and it may just be a lost cause trying to pursue anything more. You have two options, you can continue being her friend, or dump her entirely and move on.

4. She Regularly Cancels Plans That She Has With You
If she has cancelled plans on you, especially at the last minute, more than once in a short period of time, then she is using you as a backup guy in case she has nothing better to do. Now, unless she has a good reason like her grandma passed away, there should be no reason why she should have to cancel on you more than once in a matter of a couple of weeks. This shows that she has little respect for you and doesn’t even deserve to be your friend.

5. She Avoids Any Physical Contact with You
If you do happen to get her out on a date or you run into her at the club one weekend, watch her body language when it comes to you getting close to her. Does she shy away even when you just get a little closer? Does she pull away from any physical contact that you attempt, even if it is just a simple touch of her hand or a hug? She is protecting her physical space from you and has no interest in getting any closer to you.

So, you meet a beautiful girl who acts like she is interested in you and you flirt with her all night. At the end of the night, she gives you her phone number and then a few days later you end up getting her voicemail and leaving a message. Another few more days go by and you still haven’t heard back from the girl? You sit and ask yourself why she hasn’t called back and could you have gotten all the wrong signs from her? She Gave You Her Phone Number Only to Be Nice
Most women don’t want to be mean to men so they will give them their phone number even if they are not really interested in pursuing anything with the guy. It’s just too awkward to tell a guy “no” when they ask for your phone number. By giving you her number and never calling you back, she basically takes the easy way out and avoids any awkward situations of turning you down.

She Discovered Something About You She Doesn’t Like
In this day and age, most people learn to Google people that they meet, especially if it is a potential love interest. She may have found something on the Internet such as you MySpace profile that she really didn’t like. Or she could have asked around to her friends if they knew who you were. If she got any negative responses about you, that may have turned her off and now she doesn’t want to pursue anything with you, so she just decides to avoid your call. 

There’s Another Guy
If you waited too long to call her, she may have had another guy jump into her life before you could ever call her. Or, she could have been talking to another guy when she met you, and decided to pursue a relationship with that guy shortly after meeting you. This reason for not calling you back is just a case of bad timing and luck.

She Was Under the Influence When She Gave You Her Number
This is often a common occurrence for women when they have been drinking a little too much. They will get a little friendly and will have no problem handing out their phone number to any guy they meet. When she noticed that you called, she most likely got too embarrassed about her drunken ways and decided to not answer the phone. She could have also been so drunk that she doesn’t even remember your little exchange of numbers, so she never calls you back because she doesn’t know who you are.  Another possibility is that she does remember who you are and that is the problem that if she was not under the influence you are not the type of man that she would normally date.

If you don’t hear back from a woman a couple of days after you call, do not call her again. This actually looks a little stalkerish and will definitely turn a woman off. Believe me, there is about 1 in 1,000 chance that she did not get your voicemail. The rest of the chances fall in the reasoning above.

There are women who do play hard to get and will wait a couple of days to call you back. If you have not heard back from a woman in over a week, then it is time to forget her and get the next woman’s phone number.

After being married for several years, you may find that your marriage lacks that certain “spark” that you used to have with your wife. Fortunately, that spark can be found again. Here are some ways to sweep your wife off her feet again.

 
Take your wife on a blind date. This may sound kind of funny, but if you remember that in the beginning of your relationship it was the suspense of the times that you did get to see here that made your relationship so appealing. Agree to meet up at a location that you have never been to before. Both of you should drive separately and this works even better if you do this after work or after not being together in the house and then leaving at the same time. The date brings back that new feeling to a relationship and helps you to just concentrate on each other and nothing else.

 
Get away for the weekend. If you and your wife live very busy lives, then you need to take a breather every once in awhile and just get away. You need to get away from the everyday stresses that you have in life. Escape to a bed and breakfast a few hours away or even a spa weekend works well for relaxation.  Be sure to leave all your stress such as work, bills, and any other home issues at home.

 
Find a common passion or hobby to do together. Finding something that you can do together brings back that camaraderie feeling and can help spark those romantic feelings as well. Discuss with your wife anything that you may like to do that she may not know about, or things that you would be willing to learn and have an interest in. See if you have any common things with your wife and pursue them together. It could be something like cooking classes or it could regular tennis matches.

 
Make quality time for your wife at night. Turn the television off and actually talk to your wife. Try to solely focus on your wife and what the conversation is about. Spending quality time with let’s her know that you still care about her and what is going on in her life. You can afford to take one or two nights a week away from the television or reading to fully spend some quality time with your wife. Spending just an hour together, just concentrating on your relationship a few times a week can make a dramatic difference in your marriage.

 
Putting the spark back into your marriage is not always easy, especially if you and your wife have gone several years without that spark. Start off with small things, such as just paying attention to your wife more and then maybe try the weekend getaway. Most of all, make sure that you communicate with your wife and let her know that you want to rekindle the romance and get the spark back

Some men put some real thought into the gifts that they buy for their women, while other men may buy the first thing that they see or have the old standby gift that they get every woman almost every year. What men don’t realize is that women will read into your gifts more than what you may think. In fact, give her a certain gift and she may just think the next step is marriage when you were simply giving her a nice gift. Here are some common gifts that men give women and how most women will analyze the gifts.

Jewelry
Reserve jewelry for only serious relationships. Since jewelry is expensive and can have a sentimental value to it, it should only be given to wives or serious girlfriends. Giving a woman jewelry for a gift may give her the wrong impression if you are not serious about her. Be aware of giving jewelry too early in a relationship as it may scare a woman off or it may make her think that you are trying to buy her with nice things. Wait until the relationship has been established for awhile.

Perfume
Most men simply think perfume as a casual gift, while women see it much different. The scent that a woman chooses to wear is unique to her. This means that you really need to know a woman before you buy her perfume, unless she has told you what her favorite perfume is. Perfume sometimes seems like a last minute gift as well, so unless she has hinted at wanting a certain perfume or you know that her supply is almost gone, perfume may not be the wisest choice.

Gizmos or Gadgets
Since most gadgets are pretty expensive, a nice one like an iPod or Blackberry can show your woman that you do care and are not afraid to spend money on her. With different gizmos and gadgets be sure that you actually put some thought into them as you don’t want to buy her something that she will never use or something that is more appealing to you than her. Also, let her customize her gadgets. Don’t set up her Blackberry with applications or customize her GPS system for her. You can do small things though such as loading some of her favorite songs on her iPod or putting in family and close friend phone numbers into her new cell phone.

Trips
One word of caution if you are going to buy your woman a trip for a gift: be sure that you are in a committed and serious relationship as this is a really serious gift. This shows a woman that you want to spend time with only her and basically take your relationship to the next level (unless you are married, then there is really nowhere to go). This gifts makes a great present for the woman who may have every material possession possible or for the woman who works really hard and is need of a break. Be sure that you plan the trip far enough in advance and even allow it to be flexible to allow for her schedule.

Gift Certificate
Most men that I know think that a gift certificate is the perfect gift, but men take notice: a gift certificate is a cop-out. It is an easy way out of getting a woman a gift that requires thought. It basically shows that you couldn’t think of anything to get her or you forgot to get her something, so you picked up a gift certificate. The only time that gift certificates may work is a for a day at the spa or a gift certificate so she can go pick out a new handbag from her favorite designer (this works because women love to pick out their own handbags and you may not do a good job at it).

So, next time it comes to giving your wife or girlfriend a gift, keep these options in mind and what they will mean for your woman.
