It's been a while...

Hi friends,
So it seems that my last time blogging was in December 2013!

A lot has happened since that time: both happy and sad, but I'm glad to be back here posting again today. Hopefully I can remember how to do this! :)

Of course, if anything would draw me out of the woodwork it would be PTI's Anniversary! There are fabulous prizes and inspirational challenges, so I made some time to play along.

My first card is for the Mettalics and Neutrals challenge on Day 7. I used the PTI Make It Market Kit: Luxe Letterpress.

My next card is for the Maile Inspired challenge, on Day 2. I'll try to come back and link up her inspirational card. She used a cover plate and had cut patterned paper at an angle for the background, as I did.

For the Blue Ombre challenge (Day 8), I tried Nichole's post-it technique to create a blue horizon line for my bird.

The next challenge I create for was the unused stamps challenge. I don't have any unused, but definitely some that I haven't used in a long time! I made this card with Lovely Layers, an old favorite!

Finally, for the bag and tag challenge, my daughter and I made her class valentines with Tiny Treats: Valentine.

December card kit

I'm still alive! I haven't had any time for crafting since starting to work full-time in August. Now I'm back to part-time until February, so I'm hoping to be able to spend time in my craft room!

Lori sent us this gorgeous kit for December, and I made these three cards. I had so much fun!

My little girl turned 6 a couple weeks ago and I made her this card. Six balloons, lots of pink and purple.

I used he birthday trio die for the "birthday" and stamped the happy.

August Card Kit

Hello! Well-the summer has officially flown by and I'm back (on time this month) with my cards from our latest card kit. Jen sent us this amazing kit full of my favorite colors and some fun goodies that were new to me!

I still have a few more ideas for cards with what I have left from the kit. I really love getting these in the mail, thanks again Jen!

I got a new shower curtain for our bathroom over the weekend and I just love it! I kept thinking about how it would translate into a pattern for a card, so I finally just sat down to recreate it!

I used Happy Hexagon stamp set and the Hexagon cover plate (PTI). The banner die is from Stitched Sentiments.

June Card Kit

Yes, I am a month behind! Since we've been out of school a few weeks now, I'm finally catching up on card making. I'll be one card ahead for Father's Day next year ;)

Jen sent us a super-packed, beautiful kit to work with for June. I made two cards and have plans for more!

For my first card, I used the great plaid paper from the kit, the blue paper as a layer to my impressed portion, and the twine for the balloons. The stamps I used are from Birthday Style and Sketched Shapes.

My second card showcases the lovely sailboat image that Jen included. I created a window-effect using a piece of paper that she had sent already die-cut and impressed. My dad loves boats, so this is perfect for him!

Birthday Wishes

I loved the colors for the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash, so I decided to play along! You can see all the details here .

I forgot to get a photo of my phone with the time, but I was just under 10 minutes, at 9:34. Fun!

I used the Quatrefoil Coverplate (PTI) for the embossed background, Birthday Style (PTI) for the sentiment and balloons. The inks are A Muse Studio, except the blue which is Colorbox Blue Iris. The pink paper is from Crate Paper.

My ugliest card was an attempt at a scene from Mario Bros. My son was going to a Mario-themed birthday party. It is so bad! I should definitely stay far away from themed-cards!!

Thinking of You

We've been on spring break this past week and it's been great to relax and have some fun adventures with my kids. Another bonus of being a substitute teacher....no need to take any time off when school is out! I haven't been able to make many cards though--hopefully soon!

I made a bunch of cards with Mini Blooms--such a fun set! I forgot to hit publish on this post, so I thought I'd share.

I'm playing along with this month's Cloud9 Blog Hop . Isn't that photo gorgeous?

I was inspired by the colors and made two cards.

For the first, I stamped a background using different images from Folk Art Floral and Embroidered Bouquet. The sentiment is from Written on Ribbon.

I stamped the square image from Chantilly Trim four times, overlapping. The sentiment is from Quite Like you. I then stamped and cut out a trim image, also from Chantilly Trim.

Every year, I make a set of cards to donate to our preschool's silent auction. This is the first year we are not at the preschool :(

I made this set using PTI's Stitched Sentiments for the floral portion, and Wplus9's banner die and Written on Ribbon.

Have you seen the new Monday Mood Board hosted by Dawn at Wplus9 ? Here is this week's gorgeous photo:

I really love these colors together! Navy and coral are beautiful together. Here's what I made, and it reminds me of my Mom's Willow Pattern china.

I used two images from Wplus 9's Chantilly Trim to stamp the background using A Muse studio's Navy ink. The tag was stamped with Embroidered Bouquet (also Wplus9).

Wonderful Friend

I had so much fun making this card! I used Wplus9's Chantilly Trim and heat embossed the lace image. I then stamped and cut out the floral images, and stamped the sentiment onto the Winter Wisteria layer before impressing it with the coverplate.

This card is off to a super sweet friend!

Yesterday I had a marathon card-making session....it was so nice! I made a card to play along with the new RetroSketch.

I used Wplus9's Embroidered Blooms and heat embossed the image onto Royal Velvet cardstock. The sentiment comes from the same set.

A simple sympathy card today.

I was inspired by Maile's first card in this post . I used Beautiful Butterflies and the sentiment is from Birds of a Feather. For the inside, I used a line from Healing Touch.
