Golf Pull Carts And Golf Push Carts Reviewed -How They Help Your Game!

Golf pull carts or the golf push cart as often called, will not transform your handicap or cure your slice, nor give you shot advice, win you a poker game or cure a hangover (if they can I’m buying ten!)

What they can do is help ease the strain off your back and shoulders around that 18 hole battlefield giving more energy and comfort to a round instead of lugging a heavy golf carry bag on your back about the course…. especially frustrating when your scorecard is looking like a sudoku puzzle…as mine sometimes does!

But although golf pull carts are often called golf push carts, there is a difference. Do you prefer to pull your cart or push it? Everyone has their own preference so the good news is we all have a choice!

What’s the difference between a golf pull cart and golf push cart?

Golf pull carts describe the two wheel type golf carts which are designed to be pulled as you walk.

Golf push carts describe the type of cart that has three or more wheels designed to be pushed. These have become extremely popular and help reduce the built up strain in the arms, back and legs that a two wheeled cart may produce.

Lets review the type of golf pull carts, what to look for and how much they’ll set you back. When buying a golf pull cart/golf push cart, consider these:

Ease Of Assembly/ Storage: How simply does it fold? Most carts usually fold in seconds in a one or two simple type action. Also it should easily fit into your car trunk.

Golf Drills So Important You Simply Just Cannot Ignore!

How can you improve your golf game, eliminate those regular poor shots without overwhelming swing thoughts?

What are the most effective golf drills for this?

I want to ask you a question? ....which word best describes the way in which you learn a new task?

For me and I think for most people, that word is 'IMITATION'! If you look at infants in their early years, the way they learn and pickup your habits for better or for worse is by imitating you! That's the beauty of this skill which is genetically ingrained into us from birth. It transcends any language barrier!

That's why I think highly of golf training aids. Because that's the way we have learnt new skills ever since our first steps in life. We as human beings learn best by imitation. We watch, imitate and repeat. This is how we can improve on our game without being overwhelmed by countless swing thoughts.

For those of you who are not quite familiar with the term golf training aid, it is a device (and there are many to choose from) which will help you to swing the right way-the perfect golf drill you could say.

A golf training aid can get you swinging the right way by utilising Muscle Memory-in other words Imitating, without the mental overload of advice and tips coming in from all directions. How many of you folks out there have a habit...whether good or bad? I know I have but ill never quit Hershey's bars-never!

Now you know that a habit is the product of repetition, continuously until it becomes automatic without thinking. The first thing you need to consider when your game is in the rough and before you spend your hard earned money on a bunch of lessons is have you Got in touch with the simple basic fundamentals of the game you most probably have forgotten?

The fundamentals that when performed incorrectly cause the rest of your game to suffer!

How surprised would you be if I told you most poor golfing shots are a result of the pre-swing?

In other words if you get the pre-swing wrong it can affect the rest of your swing and so perhaps put the local course wildlife in danger and have your scorecard looking like a sudoku puzzle.

Let's have a look at 'getting back to basics' and what I mean by the pre-swing :

1. Your Grip : You can't afford to get the grip wrong, if you do it will cause the ball to visit all the places you'd rather it steer clear from as the club head will not impact the ball at the correct angle square to the ball. A poor grip may also negatively affect your swing and balance because we can tend to compensate for a poor grip by wrongly adjusting our alignment and shoulder turn. For a right handed player, can you not see any of your left hand knuckles as your look down on your grip? Is the tension of your grip too tight or too loose? Are you not holding the club in your fingers but instead in the palm of your hands? Ask yourself these questions.

2. Your Set Up : Your stance to the ball can ruin your golf shots if you get it wrong! An incorrect address will get FedEx delivering to the wrong places! Same for your golf shots. You may be too close to the ball therefore inhibiting your swing, too far from the ball causing you to stretch. You may slouch over the ball too much. You may even dribble over the ball but if your address isn't correct then you may as well dribble over your scorecard. How far do you stand from the ball? Are your feet, shoulders, hips and club face aligned to the target? Is your balance correct- the weight of your body should be more on the balls and middle of your feet rather than your heels. Is your body weight evenly balanced between your left and right feet? Ask yourself these questions.

3. Your Ball Position : Your ball position is so critical to the destiny of your shot! Quite simply if the ball is too far forward in your stance or too far back then not only does that induce a slice or a push but can cause the rest of your swing and your stance to over compensate and therefore go horribly wrong. For a right handed player are you adjusting your ball position correctly in relation to your left heel and distance from your body as you go up or down in club? Ask yourself these questions.

So Folks, if your golf game was rushed to accident emergency, the first thing the golf surgeon would do (besides scrub up) is fix these three basic fundamentals of golf. So these are the first things you need to do.

Golf Drills are what we golfers do to remind ourselves of the correct geometry we must have in order to maintain a perfect Golf stance and proper golf swing.

Are you forgetting the most important method you should take to fix your swing?

Are you compounding your mistakes by practicing the errors which are causing you to play poorly?

Are you trying to fix other parts of your game that don’t need fixing whilst not realizing where the actual problem is occurring in your swing?

Folks, when your game is throwing you a curve ball so often that you’re contemplating quitting, buying new clubs or booking a bunch of sessions with the golf pro…STOP!!.........there’s a better way out!......

Below are three extremely important golfing tips you can’t afford to ignore..….

Before you think about changing your backswing, investing in lessons, etc,

don’t miss the most important simple steps you must take so you can turn that ugly scorecard a code breaker couldn't figure out into one you could frame and hang on your wall!

.............Your PRE-SWING GOLF SET UP! In other words your golf stance and grip.

Your set up to the ball along with the grip are the most important factors you need to get right in order to ensure that your game is in good shape.

Police are called to an apartment and find a woman holding a bloody 5-iron standing over a lifeless man.
The detective asks, "Ma'am, is that your husband?"
"Yes "says the woman.
"Did you hit him with that golf club?"
Yes, yes, I did...”
The woman begins to sob, drops the club, and puts her, hands on her face.
"How many times did you hit him?"
"I don't know, five, six, maybe seven times......just put me down for a five."

A man staggered into a hospital with a concussion, multiple bruises, two black eyes, and a five iron wrapped tightly around his throat. Naturally, the Doctor asked him, "What happened to you?"
"Well, I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife, when at a difficult hole; we both sliced our balls into a cow pasture. We went to look for them and while I was looking around I noticed one of the cows had something white at its rear end."
"I walked over, lifted its tail, and sure enough, there was a golf ball with my wife's monogram on it - stuck right in the middle of the cow's butt."
Still holding the cow's tail up, I yelled to my wife, "Hey, this looks like yours!"
"I really don't remember much after that."

A golfer teed up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and hit his ball into a clump of trees.
He found his ball and saw an opening between two trees he thought he could hit through.
Taking out his 3-wood, he took a mighty swing. The ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him.
As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter asked, "Are you a good golfer?"
The man replied: "Got here in two, didn't I?"

After a particularly bad round of golf, Robert decided not to go to the nineteenth hole [the clubhouse bar] and started to go straight home.As he was walking to the golf car park to get his Range Rover, a policeman stopped him and asked', Did you tee off on the seventeenth hole about twenty minutes ago?' 'Yes', Robert answered 'Did you happen to slice your ball so that it went over the trees and out of bounds and completely off the golf course?' 'Yes, I did. How did you know?' Robert questioned. 'Well', said the policeman gravely', Your golf ball flew out onto the main road and crashed through the windscreen of a BMW. The car driver lost control and crashed into six other cars and a fire engine. The fire engine was unable to reach the fire in time and the building burned down. Now, what do you intend to do about it?' Robert thought it over very carefully and responded', I think I'll close my stance a little bit, tighten my grip and lower my right thumb.'

Ed and Dorothy met while on vacation, and Ed fell head over heels in love with her. On the last night of his vacation, the two of them went to dinner and had a serious talk about how they would continue the relationship.
"It's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut," Ed said to his lady friend. "I eat, sleep, and breathe golf, so if that's a problem, you'd better say so now."
Dorothy responded, "If we're being honest with each other, here goes...I'm a hooker."
"I see," Ed replied, and was quiet for a moment. Then he added, "You know, it's probably because you're not keeping your wrists straight when you tee off."

A blonde golfer goes into the pro shop and looks around frowning.
Finally the pro asks her what she wants. "I can't find any green golf balls," the blonde golfer complains.
The pro looks all over the shop, and through all the catalogs, and finally calls the manufacturers and determines that sure enough, there are no green golf balls.
As the blonde golfer walks out the door in disgust, the pro asks her, "Before you go, could you tell me why you want green golf balls?"
"Well obviously, because they would be so much easier to find in the sand traps!"

While sitting at a table in the clubhouse after a game, Padraig remarked to a fellow club member', I'm not going to play golf with Jim Lawler anymore. He cheats.' 'Why do you say that?' asked his friend.’ Well, he found his lost ball two feet from the green', replied Padraig indignantly.’ That’s entirely possible', commented his friend.’ Not when I had his golf ball in my pocket', retorted Padraig with finality.

A solo golfer joins another early one morning. They both hit the par 3 green with their tee shot and start heading up towards the flag. A little dog follows them all the way.
"Is that your dog?" the solo golfer asks.
"Yep, I know the owners, they don't mind as long as it's early."
They get to the green and the dog's owner drains a nice 30 footer for birdie. The dog stands on its hind legs and barks twice.
"That's impressive! What does he do when you miss?"
"Somersaults." the owner calmly replied.
"Somersaults?? That’s incredible! How many can he do??"
"Depends how hard I kick him."

A young fellow from a poor family would often take a bus to the nearest golf course and after the course was closed, would walk through all the roughs, sand traps, and water traps to find as many lost golf balls as he could, then sell them at his yard sale to raise money for his family. One day, both of his front pockets were jammed with golf balls from his trip to the golf course as he rode the bus home. On a golf tour in Ireland, Tiger Woods drives his BMW into a petrol station in a remote part of the Irish countryside. The pump attendant, obviously knows nothing about golf, greets him in a typical Irish manner completely unaware of who the golfing pro is.

Have you a slice so bad it threatens the group behind you?

Rarely if at all break 80, 90 or 100 no matter how hard you try?

I can’t think of many things worse in the game than having a golf slice. Well I can…having a golf slice, the yips and a one legged caddy (you should then say ten Hail Marys a night for ten weeks). But those who have battled with the golf slice you know just how frustrating life on the course can be!

It’s near impossible to enjoy a game of golf when you have to fight the slice on every shot. Being a righty and in those slicey days of mine, I got so used to walking to the right after each shot that it felt like I had to turn my self 180 degrees just to walk left! No wonder getting a table was tough when dining out!

Well I wish I could say that there is only one magic golfing tip to cure a slice but there isn’t. I wish the game was that easy (well if your name ends in woods it is!). Sometimes the golf slice can just quietly creep into your game uninvited and set up shop with no ambition to leave. There are a few reasons that can cause a golf slice as described below. We need to work out what is causing your slice to correct it.

Reason why the golf ball slices: The club Head in angled too open upon impact with the ball.

Reason why the club head is angled open on impact: There can be many reasons such as an incorrect grip, set up to the ball, incorrect ball position etc.

Most Slices and problems in golf occur because of an incorrect grip and an incorrect set up (the way in which you address the golf ball). Having the correct grip and set up are the fundamentals of a proper golf swing which are so important because these factors will affect the rest of your swing and therefore your shot success. So by correcting your grip, set up and ball position can cure most slices and other problems.

Below are a few tips and some short golf swing instruction videos by golf pros on how to cure your slice. I have also included a couple of videos on the golf grip and set up for a proper golf swing as these are so important and as mentioned above can negatively affect the rest of your swing if performed incorrectly.

Grip: The way you grip a club can induce a golf slice into your swing. Your left hand may grip the club too weakly (your left hand knuckles not being visible from above) and your right hand may be gripping incorrectly. Also the tension with which you grip the club may be too tight or too loose.

The Set Up: Many slices are created by the set up….the way you address the ball before your back swing. You shoulders may be too open (facing left of the target or right if you’re a lefty). The ball position being too far in front which can cause a weak grip. The alignment of your shoulders in relation to your feet and the target may induce the slice. So how you address the ball will generally determine the rest of your swing.

The good news is that there are many simple ways you can use to eliminate the problem causing the slice by simply repeating some easy basic golf drills over and over until your muscle memory adopts the correct fix you’re giving your swing.

I feel that in golf, you can get too overwhelmed by the amount of information you’re given to work on. It can get too confusing and you end up in over load and thinking far too much about every part of your swing. Like anything in life we usually learn best by imitation. We imitate and repeat.

That’s why I feel that a good golf training aid is a great addition to learning to swing the right way without mental overload. They get you swinging the right way without having a thousand swing thoughts weighing you down.

But don’t forget another very important piece of advice- always try to swing within yourself. Never over extend yourself during your golf swing or think that sheer brute force sends the ball further- it doesn’t and usually ruins your swing, posture and timing which are so important. Here is a tip for this- swing with your feet together in practice!

It’s a good swing, good timing and control that send the ball far and straight- all of which can be negatively affected by over extending yourself.
