Are you tweeting about how to get more followers?

Are you sending blatant sales pitches to everyone you come in contact with?

Are you making ridiculous money claims when you’re literally broke?

Well, if you’re not guilt of any of those then you’re probably safe for the most part and your probably not a straight up douche bag like the guy above. He’s a Social Media Square!

You see, there is a right way to market your business through Social Media and a wrong way. Today we are going to look at both so you can see the full picture.

Let’s start with the wrong stuff first.

• Social Media is NOT a place to pitch your opportunity, affiliate products, or anything else that directly benefits you monetarily.
• Social Media sites are called “Social Media” for a reason. Be social when using them, interact with REAL people and build relationships.
• While you can make a lot of money THROUGH Social Media you can’t make a lot of money FROM Social Media. Meaning that Social Media is purely a means of exposure. A way to get your face out there and brand yourself.
• Don’t Tweet about getting more followers because it ironically gets you less. Most of the time it’s because the Tweeter makes money when the person buys.
• Do NOT act like a fake person. Be yourself, be real and be transparent. People love other real people.

Social Media Marketing the right way.

• Add significant value to your followers online. We’ll use Twitter as an example here. Make your Twitter Stream a great resource for people. Tweet about useful, cool stuff that people can REALLY use and benefit from without it benefiting you in any way. Share it because it helped you and you know it will help others.

• Use automation services the RIGHT way like Social Oomph and Tweet Adder

Social Oomph – This service allows you to set up auto DMs on Twitter among other things. If you’re going to do this don’t link to affiliate sites, PLEASE! We get enough Twitter spam on a daily basis as it is. Instead be HELLA real in your message. You say something like “Hey, this is an automatic message. I know these suck but I really would love to connect with you on a more personal basis, http://YourBlogLinkHere.com” See how I did that all professional like? Cool huh?!

Tweet Adder – Sometimes with Twitter you want to build a targeted following. For instance, if you are trying to sell gardening products you don’t want to follow people interested in cars. Therefore with a program like Tweet Adder you can target who you want to follow based on their interests and have the software automatically add them for you.

• Create a community on Ning.com and invite like minded individuals to join and discuss the topic of interest. Whether it be Internet Marketing, skateboarding, or dog training people are out there looking for a great place to bounce ideas back and forth. Give it to them. This not only brands you as the expert but positions you in a GREAT place to market any future products directly related to your community.

Social Media Tip #3

Build long term relationships with your clients. Show them that you in this business for the long haul. That you growing and developing your knowledge of the marketplace and that you want to serve them cutting edge information to years to come. Do this and you’ll profit day in and day out. People want to know that you’re a real person and that you are truly here to help them.

Follow these three social media for local business tips and you will have a great baseline for expanding upon your business and creating a true empire in your local town.

This is a solid business model and should not be taken into consideration lightly, you can make a lot of money doing this and help A LOT of people in your home town while your making a fortune.

Have you ever experienced that feeling where you know your supposed to perform and you get so excited/nervous that you screw everything up?

It’s really that simple. Or is it that complicated?

It depends on how you look at it. And that’s all based on your perception. If you perceive fear as a obsticle then it’s complicated. If you picture fear as food it’s really that simple.

How do you want to perceive it?

Better yet, since most people face this type of inner demon how do you flip the script?

How To Feed Off Your Fear

You need to do exactly that, use your fear as fuel. When you body enters that physical state you’ve got all kinds of awesome natural drugs pumping through your veins like adrenaline. This puts you into fight or flight mode. At this point you have to do just that, fight or flight.

Choose to whoop some ass or choose to flee like a dog.

If you let the fear get the best of you then you’re going to fail. BUT…

If you use that fear as a motivator, as a way to fuel your mission then you’re going to be able to do anything.

You see, when your body gets in that mode. It’s know as the zone, some call it The Now, some might even call it Zen. But no matter what it is just know that this is the place you need to come from when creating a life for yourself.

I use it in almost every aspect possible. I use in skateboarding, I use it in business, I use it in everyday life.

Live For The Moment

All the FUN is happening right now. You don’t want to miss out on life. If you’re always concentrating on you future and your past, you MISSING OUT on life going on around you right now!

Everyone who is “doing it big” right now is living life RIGHT NOW.

Whether is big business, day to day life, or living your passion life’s not gonna wait for you. You’ve got to take an unpredictable yet consistent approach because life gets boring if it’s always the same, just over-deliver when you say you’re gonna follow through.

Now take this knowledge and apply it to YOUR life. Create what you want in life. Implement everything and don’t even stop to look back until you are where you want to be. The past doesn’t matter, the future doesn’t matter, only the moment matters.

Last night I caught the midnight premiere of Alice In Wonderland.

Let’s just start off by saying it was by far THE best telling of Alice In Wonderland to date. Tim Burton is literally a demented genius. I dunno how that dude thinks of all these crazy looking characters and then brings them to life so fluently. Kudos to that dude.

However, I went to go see Alice In Wonderland to try and see what kind over message the movie delivered. I’m also going to talk about some details in the film so if you haven’t seen it yet then you might not want to read all of this…

The Rabbit Hole

This part of the film is fascinating, the CG animation throughout is absolutely stunning. But that’s not what I wanted to talk about here. The rabbit hole in Alice In Wonderland represents something far deeper than just a “rabbit hole.”

It represents a portal into the depths of your own imagination where ANYTHING becomes possible.

Imagine what YOUR Wonderland would be like if you fell down The Rabbit Hole. I’d probably subconsciously create some kind of mutated skate park with concrete pirates trying to rob me of my steez all over the place. But that’s besides the point, I want you to think about what yours would look like.

Some weird people (like me) believe that your subconscious is responsible for creating your own reality. If that’s true, that would mean that anything you imagine could essentially become true.

When you stop and think about it for a moment it really does make sense. Before anything becomes physically real it ALWAYS starts as an idea in somebody’s mind.

I’m not saying that rabbit holes are real, but I’m not saying their not either.

Maybe I’m just talking about it metaphorically or maybe I’m dead serious, draw your own conclusions.

Characters In Wonderland

We are all familiar with Disney’s Alice In Wonderland story right? The first one. So you remember all the crazy characters from that story right. Well just imagine those characters 100 times more developed and create with some of the best CG artists around and that is the new Alice In Wonderland.

I like to look at the characters representing different aspects of my own mind. For instance, the red queen would represent your evil side and the white queen would represent your good side. Or in this particular case, Alice’s good and evil sides.

The Mad Hatter (played perfectly by Johnny Deep) could represent how you bounce back and forth from side to side depending on the situations you get faced with. If you remember, the Mad Hatter tends to go from calm and sane to ludicrous and violent in a split second sometimes. I know I’ve snapped a few times in my life when I was faced with a crazy situation. It happens, and Mad Hatter represents that state of mind for Alice.

The Cheshire Cat cat could possibly represent your mysterious side (if you got one) or it could represent those times when you just don’t feel like socializing with people and want to disappear just like the Cheshire Cat does when he doesn’t want to be somewhere.

The smoking blue caterpillar might represent you voice of concerns or words of wisdom. He is the one that helps Alice see her true potential within herself by questioning the very fact that she is herself to begin with. This forces her to question who she is and thus rediscovers herself as the champion that defeats the Jabberwocky later on in the film.

For you, this could mean questioning who YOU are. Most people don’t really know what the heck they want out of life until they are lying on their death beds regretting not doing. Therefore, let’s not be one of those poor souls and make the best out of everyday you’ve got. Ascend to your true potential by questioning EVERYTHING and never leaving a stone under turned. (or a rabbit hole unexplored)

Alice In Wonderland is about discovering who you really are like Alice does in the movie. I’ll touch on that really quick.

When Alice was a girl, she really looked up to her father. He was an outstanding successful business man who’s associates always thought was crazy because he was ALWAYS out of the box. Alice thinks the same way until she is confronted with an arranged marrage to some dweeb who can’t stop picking his nose and pretty much just walks around with a frown on all day.

(side note: It takes more muscles to frown then it does to smile, something tells me that was intentional…)

When dweebazoid proposes to her in front of her whole extended family she almost says yes but instead runs off chasing the white rabbit holding a watch which he very curiously keeps referencing. Then she falls down the rabbit hole and the journey begins.

Are Dreams Real?

Here’s just a little twist I thought I would throw in here. Have you ever had a dream SO real that you could have sworn it happened once you woke up?

I know I have, I’ve had hundreds. Some of my best ideas even come to me in dreams, then I go apply them to real life.

In Alice In Wonderland, Alice thinks she is dreaming throughout the whole movie. Even when she takes the white queens potion at the end to wake back up she just climbs out of the rabbit hole like nothing happened. It’s not until she is talking to her no-longer-to-be father in law that you see the claw marks on her arm from the beast that attacked her.

What if things that you did in your dreams effected you in real life. Not directly like claw marks on your arm but indirectly like the decisions you’re going to make the next day.

Another theory on dreaming is OBE (out of body experiences) meaning that you actually leave your earthy body during sleep and visit other dimensions of the universe.

I dunno how I feel about that yet but I will say that it sure feels like ya do when your in a dream where you’re battling midevil monsters by casting spells and extremely cool looking sword fights. (just one of my crazy dreams)

Oh, here’s a creepy one. I was watching 1000 Ways To Die to other night and I saw how some chick died in her sleep. Every night she would have the same recurring dream where a demonic figure would visit her in her sleep and strangle her until she suffocated. She actually died of a heart attack in her sleep, but it was supposed to be caused by the “dream trauma”.

People say that if you die in your dreams then you die in real life…

Alice In Wonderland 2 Cents

Overall, Alice In Wonderland was a fantastic movie. It had everything you need. Good action, suspense, mystery, weird love and all kinds of other stuff.

I haven’t seen it in 3D yet though, I heard that is off the hook.

I highly recommend seeing this movie. You won’t regret it. And if you got the chance, go see it in 3D.

You would setup basic Twitter and YouTube accounts for various different local businesses and then update them from time to time when you get a request from the customer. All that you need to do here is create a few graphics for the Twitter and YouTube which could probably even be the same, and upload some basic starter videos/tweets. And you’re done.

Suggested Retail Price: $100-$200 monthly recurring fee

Now it just gets obnoxiously easy…

• Use Google Alert and Twitter search to promote a “Who’s Talking About You” online service and send out notifications every time your clients name gets mentioned or syndicated online. All you need to do here is set up an email account to capture all this information, filter it into “labels” if you using gmail and then create a professional email using a template, send it out daily, and you’re done.

Suggested Retail Price: $50-$100 per month

The point here is that you are WAY smarter than the average business owner out there today. Most people have no clue how to do this type of stuff, and it’s literally right there in front of you. You’re sitting on a friggin’ gold mine. Go start mining.

Simply by you being able to read and comprehend the concepts that I talked about in this post puts to 100x ahead of 97% of the world right now.

The time is now to strut you Social Media skills and make some handsome profits while you’re at it…

“Wow, that’s a broad topic…” is what I was thinking when I wrote the title to this post. It could mean a lot of different things and go in many different directions. However, what this post is about is how to get what you want in life. (guess I could have put that in the title eh?)

Know What You Want

This is probably the biggest problem that people have in life. Nobody knows what they want.

While you may be the person who wants the flashy sports car, the giant house (in my case it would be a skate mansion) or maybe even a private jet. No matter the size or costs of the things you want, you need to create a vivid picture of exactly what you want and how you want it in your mind first before anything will ever come to you in physical form in life.

Umm, what?! You mean I gotta actually visualize the things I want before I can have them?

Yes, you do. This may sound weird at first if you’ve never thought about this but it’s true. It’s even a proven fact. The computer you’re reading this on right now proves it. Here’s why.

Everything starts in your head first. EVERYTHING that is in existence today started as a thought. As an idea in somebody’s head.

The computer your using to read this was at some point just an idea in some “crazy dudes” head. But guess what, he took that crazy idea and turned it into something real, something tangible. Some might call this manifestation, I just call it cool.

So when I say know what you want, you need to really KNOW what you want. Have a crystal clear picture of what you want depicted in your mind.

If you want a flashy sports car, you need to picture it down to every detail, like this.

I want a 97′ Toyota Supra in flat black. The body of the Supra is a veilside widebody kit with matching rims. The hood is 100% carbon fiber left unpainted so you can see the dragon like scales it has. It has smoked black altezza tail lights and 5% tint on all windows.

The interior is all 100% genuine leather and when you sit down into the drivers seat you feel like your melting into the perfect vehicle. You then grip the momo steering wheel and go for the carbon fiber covered ignition with you customized keychain. You fire up that baby and hear the Greddy exhaust system purr like a black panther.

Then you move your attention to the dash to see the stunning flip out Kenwood DVD player which is hooked up to a fantastic JL audio sound system so you can put on the proper beats for your ride. As you push the clutch in you can literally feel it gripping your fly wheel ready to kick back harder than a horse after an enema. You pop it into 1st gear and take off the down the street leaving everyone else to taste your exhaust.

Anyways, I’m not going to get into engine stuff cause we would be here awhile, but I think you get the picture as to how descriptive you need to be. I mean, you are literally creating what you want in your life when you do this. And it works for everything.

Manifestation Is A Reality

Yes, manifestation is a complete reality. You really can create stuff out of thin air.

That doesn’t mean you can snap your fingers and *poof* out comes a Supra. But you can create exactly what you want in your mind then acquire that exact thing in real life.

Here’s the way it works.

This has to do with a universal law of manifestation. When you tell the universe what you want its going to give it to you. But you have to be clear about it.

Think of the universe like a pond. When you drop a rock into a pond it’s going to send out ripples or vibrations all the way to the edge of the pond. Then they are going to bounce back and ripple back to the point of origin.

When you create a thought or a desire for something that you want, that thought acts like a ripple and moves through the universe to the ends of it or until it finds an exact match for your desire or thought and then bounces back. Once it reaches it’s point of origin again your thought or desire will manifest into your life. And again, things don’t *poof* and magically appear. That’s hearsay.

What does happen for example is something like this. Let’s say I want that Supra. I must put the desire out like I did in this post for that car. Now, you’ll start seeing Supra’s everywhere because it’s conscious in your mind. And pretty soon you might see one for sale on the corner that just “happens” to be black with a leather interior.

I don’t believe in coincidences. You put the desire out for what you wanted and the universe found a match and put it in front of you. Cha-ching. It’s that simple.

Write It Down, Or Else

The next step in getting what you want is writing it down.

If you don’t write down what you want it still remains just as a thought. Writing it is the first step into physically creating what you want. Be specific, write down every detail like I did with the Supra above. The more specific you are the easier you desires will be to acquire.

Plus writing it down gets your brain thinking more intensely about what you want. The more crystal clear you can picture your desires the easier they will come to you.

You would be surprised how many people have not actually taken the time to sit down and truly think about what they want. They just go about life day to day wondering why the world has been so cruel to them.

Well shit man, if you don’t tell the world what you want how the heck do you suppose the world is going give it to you?

Tell the world on paper, tell the world on video, tell the world on audio recordings. However.

By Now I’m Crazy…

Yup, most likely by now you think I’m a crazy person who has no idea what he’s talking about.

That’s good. Denial is the first step to acceptance. I too thought people were crazy for mentioning this stuff, and even trying to prove it. Until it dawned on me how ingenious it was…

I’ll leave you with one more crazy story.

I was at a show one time watching some friends play music at the Starline theater. And I was thirsty as hell. I went to the bathroom looking for a water fountain or a bottle of water. Took a leak, and when I came back out and rounded the corner there was a brand spakin’ new unopened water bottle chillin’ on a box. I picked it up, drank it and quenched my thirst.

Now my question to you is do you think it was a coincidence that the water bottle was left there for me to find? Or was it because I clearly and strongly desired water that I manifested the water bottle to be there when I needed it?

Not only was I reviewing an affiliate product that delivers SERIOUS value itself but I was outlining EXACTLY what you would get if you decided to purchase the product yourself.

Basically I took you inside the back office of The Affiliate Code (the product the video was about) and showed you everything you would receive once you bought it.

Now obviously I was promoting an affiliate link in this video because why else would I be trying to get massive exposure for it through a site like Tube Mogul?

After all, that’s what they do. Tube Mogul distributes your videos to all the major video streaming sites so you can maximize your views. That’s WHY they are in business. So right off hand you would think that they would be interested in having my business. I was literally minutes away from purchasing their $5oo dollars small business package from them to get even MORE exposure. But then they suspended my account…

And for what?

A simple video that offers great value to someone who is considering purchasing a product that might benefit their business?

Maybe it’s just me but I think that’s completely ridiculous…

This is what I’m going to do. Instead of wasting my time with Tube Moguls silly business policies, I’m going to take my business over to a company who DOES NOT care about promotions in your videos. They actually support video marketing strategies.

Ever wonder how you get one of those installed on your Wordpress blog? It can get kind of tricky cause you have to use a little bit of PHP to accomplish the task but after this quick little walk-through you’ll be a master at installing favicons.

Why You Need A Favicon

This is really important to point out because some people look at favicons as luxuries. But they’re not, they are necessities if you want to be taken seriously on the web. Why else would EVERY SINGLE website use them if they weren’t. So reason number one is use them because it makes you look more professional. The big boys will take you more seriously if you have a professional looking favicon.

Reason number two is exactly why a favicon was created in the first place. Favicon is short for Favorites Icon, meaning that when your site gets bookmarked your “favicon” is the image that shows up. This makes your site more recognizable on other computers and subliminally brands your site in the eyes of the bookmarker.

Reason number three is because Google loves them. You see, when you’re doing a lot of blogging online and you are promoting products your goal is to get ranked really well in the search engines. This way more people find you and more people will buy your stuff. One of the best ways to increase your sites rankings is to increase your PR (page rank). Google has a number of different factors that determine PR and favicons may not be HUGE on their list but you can sure bet that any site without one won’t get the best PR out there.

First things first, you gotta actually create an image of a favicon. Ironically, this image must have something to do with your website. (who would have thought) And it’s going to be REALLY small. I’m talking tiny, like 16×16 pixels.

Now normally you would have to do this kind of work in photoshop or something similar but instead I’ve discovered a really cool resource that lets you create a favicon without any photoshop experience. But first you’ll need your image to shrink down. I suggest going to Google and typing in something related to your niche + icon. Find what you like and save it to your desktop.

Next go to http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/ and upload your image file you just found. Square images work the best because they will automatically be re-sized to 16×16. Once ready, click add image and the website will kick out a favicon.ico file ready for your Wordpress.

Download that file (comes a a .zip) and open it up.

Installing A Wordpress Favcion

Now you’re going to need your Wordpress admin opened up. So get that ready. Before we tinker with that though, we need to upload your new favicon to the root directory of your website. That means you’re going to drop the file in the very first folder you’ve got, the one with your index.html page or in this case, probably index.php.

• Using an FTP client upload your favicon to your websites main folder. This will look like http://example.com/favicon.ico

Now, since other browsers out there (like IE) are sucky (for lack of a more vulgar word) you will need to edit the header.php section of your Wordpress.

• Go to your Wordpress admin panel and login.
• Click on appearance.
• Click on Theme Editor
• Now locate the file called header or header.php and select it.
• Search for some code that looks like this <link rel=”shortcut icon” and ends with /favicon.ico” />. Overwrite this if it exists or add in the following code below the <head> HTML tag.

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/favicon.ico" />

That’s all one line. Make sure you don’t separate the code.

• Save the changes.

To see your new favicon you need to clear your browsers cache or try it in a different one like Chrome.

If you’re new online you need to read all of this because I’m going to give you 3 powerful tips on creating effective squeeze pages. Notice I said EFFECTIVE squeeze pages in the last sentence, that’s because anybody can create a squeeze page but not every can create on that is truly a lead generation machine.

To touch on that point a little further, leads are literally the lifeblood of your online business. You need to be taking every single lead you get and plug it into an autoresponder system that sends them a message each day so that they eventually buy from you. Which brings me to my first tip.

Squeeze Page Tip #1

You need to be using an autoresponder that contains at a minimum of 60 days worth of messages. I know that may sound like a lot but think about the shear power of this technique first. When you have over 60 days worth of content packed in on the back end (your autoresponder) then you can scientifically build a series of messages that all flow into each other and deliver rock solid information, yet sell your prospect products from a place of value.

Squeeze Page Tip #2

Focus on the BIG giveaway. A lot of times people try to give away 7 or 8 day bootcamp series on their blogs as a free giveaway. After testing this against something like a full 60 minute free webinar as a giveaway instead proved that the ONE BIG THING (webinar) converted better than the bootcamp series.

As you can see, the Seven Day Bootcamp series took 100 visitors to convert into ten leads while the Mastermind Marketing Secrets Webinar took only 50 visitors to convert into 10 leads. (or 9, but who’s counting?)

What this means is YOU should be using a BIG giveaway instead of Seven Day Bootcamp if you want more leads for less work. I know that’s what I want.

Squeeze Page Tip #3

Method Of Delivery. You need to tell the visitors that hit your squeeze page what you want them to do. Some common ways to do this are usually a combination of text, video and images but lately has been moving more towards straight video. Whatever the combination make sure you explain what the visitor is going to get once then put their name and email in.

This must be very clear because first thing they are going to be thinking is “whats in it for me?” If your offer seems tempting enough you’re going to get that opt in and your list will grow a little bit bigger.

There are a few more factors that come into play when it comes to squeeze pages and list building but the knowledge here will help cover the basics and get your mind ticking about some creative ideas.
