Computer Tips: Slow Internet Connection

Having a Slow Internet Connection ? Isn't it irritating when suddenly one day your Internet is slowing down or loading slowly. And you have already called your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and and they said that they have already checked your internet connection on there side and it is perfectly fine.

Here are some Computer Tips on Slow Internet Connection that you can try before calling them:

1. Delete cookie files.
a. From the Start menu, click Internet Explorer.
b. On the toolbar, click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.
c. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click Delete Cookies.
d. In the Delete Cookies dialog box, click Yes.

2. Clear History files.
a. From the Start menu, click Internet Explorer.
b. On the toolbar, click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.
c. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click Delete History.
d. In the Internet Options dialog box, click Yes.

3. Delete Temporary Internet files.
a. From the Start menu, click Internet Explorer.
b. On the toolbar, click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.
c. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click Delete Files.
d. In the Delete Files dialog box, click Yes.

Note: You may complete all of the above steps, plus delete form data and Internet passwords, by clicking the Delete all button in the Delete Browsing History dialog box.

4. Reset Internet Explorer to the default settings.
a. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
b. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
c. Click Reset, and then click Close.
d. Click OK twice, and then close Internet Explorer.
e. Re-open Internet Explorer, and then try to browse the Internet.

5. Run and Update your anti-virus and anti-Spyware. Being online in the Internet could make your computer vulnerable to viruses and spywares online so make sure that your anti-virus and anti-spyware is always updated and run them always.

6. If using a dial-up connection, open Device Manager and update modem drivers.

This Computer Tips on Slow Internet Connection is I think the some simplest steps and maybe most of us who are technically inclined knows this steps but based on my experience some of us forgot this basic steps. I do hope this steps would be helpful to all of you.

Nintendo DSi is the third iteration in the series of the Handheld game consoles developed and manufactured by Nintendo the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DSi was released in Japan last November 1, 2008 and is scheduled for release in Australia on April 2, 2009, Europe on April 3, 2009 and North America on April 5, 2009. It comes with Black and Blue.

The main feature of the Nintendo DSi is its Dual Camera which the character "i" in Nintendo DSi is stands for, which is representing an "eye" and also the subject "I" and its personal individuality. As the console's official slogan "What will you and i do?"

New features

An SD Card Slot is added as an external storage for pictures, downloaded software and AAC audio.

A Built-in Audio Player which also serves as a voice recorder and music player for AAC audio, but sorry guys it does not support MP3s. You can also adjust the pitch, playback and add filters to the aforementioned audio.

And using the Internal Microphone, you can also save and modify using the built in Audio player of up to eighteen ten-second sound clips from voice recordings then apply them to songs.

Your Photos taken using the Nintendo DSi can also be synced to the Wii's Photo Channel.

It also features the Nintend DSi Shop, similar to the Wii Shop Channel you can also connect to an online store where you can download DSiWare games and applications.Each Nintendo DSi that will accesses the DSi Shop prior to March 2010 will receive 1,000 Nintendo Points.The applications will either be free, or cost 200, 500, or 800+ (marked with a 'Premium' tag) Nintendo Points. The DSi Shop was launched with the DSi Browser, a web browser available for free download.

Technical specifications

Nintendo DSi was released with few technical details regarding the specific model. It has also has an improved hardware (compared to the DS Lite), such as the main CPU and the RAM.

CPUs: The main CPU is an ARM processor clocked at 133 MHz.
RAM: 16 MB of RAM (four times more than previous models)
Storage: 256 MB of internal Flash memory
Wireless: 802.11 internal wireless connectivity

Computer Tip #2: The Usage and User?

So you have already made up your mind about the budget the next question is that how will you be using your Desktop Computer. This would be one of the important factors to consider in B uying a Desktop Computer. If you would ask computer sales man they would simply reply with those computer jargon that a simple people would not really understand and end up nodding and buying a computer that would be more than they need. That is okay if your budget is flexible but what if you have a tight budget. The Computer Tip #2 will show you the different kind of usage and user. I will also give some sample specification for each kind of User.

Here are some kind of User:

User #1: The Student / Home User - A student usually goes for research works, term papers and some minor music and video. Well I should know since I have been a student before but this time a student user comes in variety well that depends on what are they studying. Let us focus on a simple student. Well initially what does a student want for his Desktop Computer. Usually they need a medium range of speed and space for their computer. Which they can work for their paper works. This would also apply for people that just goes online and browse that does not concern more download. This is also the most common users compared to those others.

Sample Specification:

Processor: 2 G Hz - 3.2 G Hz Dual Core (AMD or Intel)
Motherboard: Any Compatible MB for the Processor with built in Sound/Video/LAN
RAM: 512 MB - 1 GB
Video: Built in

User #2: The Music, Photo and Video Lover/Maker - A Music, Photo and Video Lover/Maker are those people that really loves music, photos and video that they would like to create , download and store music, photos and videos to their computers. Usually this type of user needs a medium to high range resources and spaces. You will see the difference in memory, hard drive, video with regards to User #1 but in some points I could say they are the same. You will also notice on the sample specs below is the addition of the TV Tuner which they use to record and capture videos from TV or camcorders.

Sample Specification:

Processor: 2 G Hz - 3.2 G Hz Dual Core (AMD or Intel)
Motherboard: Any Compatible MB for the Processor with built in Sound/Video/LAN
RAM: 1 GB - 2 GB
Video: Could use the Built in video or a medium range video card

Sound: Could use the Built in sound or a medium range sound card

User #3: The Gamer - Well I think this is the last and the one that needs a high end computer. This type of user usually the one that has the highest specification and those person that keeps on upgrading or maxing out there computer.

Motherboard: Any Compatible MB for the Processor with built in Sound/Video/LAN
RAM: 2 GB - Max
Video: High end video card
Hard drive: 500 GB to 1 TB
Sound: Could use the Built in sound or a medium range sound card
TV Tuner/Capture Card: Yes
Monitor: 21" - 32" FPD or HDTV
Optical Drive: Dual Layer DVD R/W Optical Drive
Keyboard: Ergonomic Keyboard
Mouse: Optical Mouse
Speaker: 2.1 to 7.1 speaker

A Desktop Computer is a type of personal computer (PC) in a form intended for regular use at a single location or in layman's term a type of PC that can lie flat on the desk or table. It is the most popular type of personal computer for home and business use. Buying a Desktop Computer could be a big decision to make.

Here are some things that I think you should consider before Buying a Desktop Computer:

Computer Tip #1: The Cost or Budget?

If you would ask me this is the first and one of the most important thing you should consider when Buying a Desktop Computer. Most of the time when somebody ask for my help on this aspect I usually replied, "How much is your Budget?".

Yes for me this is important because this would define the performance of the Desktop Computer you will purchasing. Usually a Medium to High End Desktop would cost around $300 to $1,000 but here in the Philippines the cost would be around 10,000 to 30,000 pesos and that is only for clone PC, a branded is another story since most of persons buy branded computers are those who can afford or usually used for business and that cost around 30,000 to 50,000 pesos. And this prices applies only for brand new computer. There are used or refurbished Desktop Computer that costs around less than a $100 or around 5,000 to 10,000 pesos.

Windows 7 Beta

Yes, last February 26, Microsoft Philippines launched Windows 7 Beta here in the Philippines. As a replacement to the latest version Windows Vista. There are still no specific date for the release of its final version, but software giant Microsoft Corp. plans to have it out by the second half, said Jay O. Joson, developer and platform evangelist of Microsoft Philippines.

Windows 7 as promised by Microsoft Engineers to be faster, more reliable and more compatible with more devices and applications which compared to the previous version, Windows Vista which received heavy criticism from its users for its slowness, incompatibility with many hardware devices and for hogging system resources. I do agree with that.

Ballmer said last January 9 on its official release in LAS VEGAS, that this would be the "best version of Windows ever" and pointed out features that implicitly acknowledged the problems with Windows Vista.
"We are putting in all the right ingredients -- simplicity, reliability and speed -- and working hard to get it right and to get it ready,"

Windows 7 System Requirements:

1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
1 GB of system memory
16 GB of available disk space
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
DVD-R/W Drive
Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)

Some of the Windows 7 Features:

Improved taskbar and full-screen previews - You can set the order where the icons appear and they'll stay put in the taskbars. You can Click once on the large icons or bigger preview thumbnails and you can even see the full screen preview before switching to that window or application.
Jump Lists - You easily access the files you've been working with. Just right click on the icon on your taskbar. You may also pin some files you want to the Jump List for easy access.
Better Device Management - You do not have to use other window to manage all your devices. Using only one window, Devices and Printers screen to connect, manage, and use whatever printers, phones, and other devices you have on-hand.
HomeGroup - Once you set it up you can easily use the Network and Sharing Center to choose what you share with other homegroup members.
Windows Touch - Using a touchscreen monitor you can easily use it
