In fact, inactivity is thought to be one of the key reasons for the surge of type 2 diabetes in the U.S., because inactivity and obesity promote insulin resistance.

The good news is that it is never too late to get moving, and exercise is one of the easiest ways to start controlling your diabetes. For people with type 2 diabetes in particular, exercise can improve insulin sensitivity, lower the risk of heart disease, and promote weight loss.

Rays Note: Hey I will show you, I have a Diabetes Recipe Cookbook that you might be interested in it is called
Guilt-Free Desserts™:
Your Guide to Better Baking
Featuring 50 All-Natural, Fail-Proof,
Gluten Free & Low-Glycemic Desserts!

Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes is on the rise. The number of people diagnosed with diabetes every year increased by 48% between 1980 and 1994. Nearly all the new cases are Type 2 Diabetes, or adult-onset, the kind that moves in around middle age. Symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes include increased thirst, appetite, and need to urinate; feeling tired, edgy, or sick to the stomach; blurred vision; tingling or loss of feeling in the hands.

The causes of type 2 diabetes are complex and not completely understood, although research is uncovering new clues at a rapid pace.

However, it has already been proven that one of the reasons for the boom in type 2 diabetes is the widening of waistbands and the trend toward a more deskbound and inactive lifestyle in the United States and other developed countries. In America, the shift has been striking; in the 1990s alone, obesity increased by 61% and diagnosed diabetes by 49%.

For this reason, health experts encourage those who already have type 2 diabetes to start employing the wonders that exercise can do for them. Without exercise, people have the tendency to become obese. Once they are obese, they have bigger chances of accumulating type 2 diabetes.

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that over 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are clinically overweight. Therefore, it is high time that people, whether inflicted with type 2 diabetes or not, should start doing those jumping and stretching activities.

Getting Started

The first order of business with any exercise plan, especially if you are a “dyed-in-the-wool” sluggish, is to consult with your health care provider. If you have cardiac risk factors, the health care provider may want to perform a stress test to establish a safe level of exercise for you.

Certain diabetic complications will also dictate what type of exercise program you can take on. Activities like weightlifting, jogging, or high-impact aerobics can possibly pose a risk for people with diabetic retinopathy due to the risk for further blood vessel damage and possible retinal detachment.

If you are already active in sports or work out regularly, it will still benefit you to discuss your regular routine with your doctor. If you are taking insulin, you may need to take special precautions to prevent hypoglycemia during your workout.

Start Slow

For those who have type 2 diabetes, your exercise routine can be as simple as a brisk nightly neighborhood walk. If you have not been very active before now, start slowly and work your way up. Walk the dog or get out in the yard and rake. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park in the back of the lot and walk. Every little bit does work, in fact, it really helps a lot.

As little as 15 to 30 minutes of daily, heart-pumping exercise can make a big difference in your blood glucose control and your risk of developing diabetic complications. One of the easiest and least expensive ways of getting moving is to start a walking program. All you need is a good pair of well-fitting, supportive shoes and a direction to head in.

Indeed, you do not have to waste too many expenses on costly “health club memberships,” or the most up-to-date health device to start pumping those fats out. What you need is the willingness and the determination to start exercising to a healthier, type 2 diabetes-free life.

The results would be the sweetest rewards from the effort that you have exerted.

Thanks For Taking Time To Read This Article

Watch this Video On What Diabetes Is And How To Solve This Problem?
Click This Link

Take care
Ray Gollis

Follow Me On Facebook
http://facebook.com/ray48021

Follow Me On Twitter
http;//twitter.com/ray48021

Curb Your Hunger and Lose More Than 10 Pounds

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/curb-your-hunger-and-lose-more-than-10-pounds

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/curb-your-hunger-and-lose-more-than-10-pounds#comments

how to lose weight

scandavia

slim today

Editorial By Ray Gollis:Fri Oct 18, 2013The hardest part of changing the way you eat is to eliminate hunger pangs and cravings. The body has been so used to being full all the time that it causes you to eat in-between meals. This habit is certainly one of the leading causes of unnecessary weight gain. Most of the time, the food you eat during snacks are unhealthy although satiating. That is why it is important to know how to curb your hunger. Not only will this cause you to lose more weight and faster but also adapt a healthier lifestyle free of extra calories and fats.

Most people believe that these three terms share a common meaning. That is not the case, however. The appetite doesn’t necessarily mean hunger while hunger is not satiety or satisfaction. For starters, the appetite is more synonymous to cravings. It is characterized by a strong desire to eat a particular kind of food, i.e. “I have an appetite for chocolate cake right now.”

On the other hand, hunger is a condition that usually occurs when the body is in dire need of nutrition. It is accentuated by shakiness, edginess, headache, and growling of the stomach. Lastly, satisfaction or satiety is simply the feeling of fulfillment or fullness. Most often, people stop eating when they are already satiated.

Watch Joey Atlas Show You How To Destroy The Cellulite On Your Body and He Will Show The Principals On How To Get Rid Of Cellulite!
<a title="" target="_blank" href="http://2260eglni6707teaw3n2ek4t3a.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=NKDBEAUTY <a">Click Here To Watch This Important Video!

Factors That Play a Major Role

The three terms associated with eating (hunger, appetite and satisfaction) are affected by certain hormones of the body such as leptin, cholecystokin, ghrelin and insulin. All of these hormones cause the body to experience specific needs for nourishment. In addition, they affect a person’s behavior and thoughts in relation to hunger, satisfaction and appetite.

One popular example of this is when a person feels an intense desire to eat more even if he or she already ate enough. During this circumstance, the endocrine gland produces excessive hormones that cause the person’s satiety level. The overproduction of the hormone leptin can also induce intense appetite sometimes causing the person to desire highly unhealthy foods.

Managing Your Hunger

There are several ways that can help you manage your hunger effectively. Creating irregular eating periods can cause the body to adapt to the new meal schedule. This doesn’t mean, though, that you should eat erratically but rather scatter meals all throughout the day.

Consuming less starchy and sugar-filled meals can also decrease your hunger levels. Excessive consumption of sugar can cause fluctuations of your blood sugar that will not only affect the way you lose weight but also cause eventual diabetes. Lastly, simple elimination of hunger and appetite stimuli can help manage the weight better. Make sure you decrease the amount of unhealthy desserts and snacks at your home.

Managing Your Satiety

It is important to know that there are several factors that contribute to increase satiety. One is lessening the time gap between meals or eating every two to three hours. Also, eating a high protein diet can also cause effective satiety since protein has been known to cause satiety.

Fiber, which helps digestion and clean the digestive tract, can also cause prolonged satiety since the body needs more time to digest fiber enriched foods. Incorporating fiber and protein rich food in your diet can effectively curb your hunger.

Thanks For Reading This Article, Talk To You Soon, Ray Gollis

Follow Me On Twitter:
http://twitter.com/ray48021

Follow Me On Facebook
http://facebook.com/ray48021

Back to School - Packing a Healthy School Lunch By Shereen Jegtvig

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/back-to-school-packing-a-healthy-school-lunch-by-shereen-jegtvig

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/back-to-school-packing-a-healthy-school-lunch-by-shereen-jegtvig#comments

Uncategorized

Best Lunch Box Ever: Ideas and Recipes for School Lunches Kids Will Love Click Here To Buy Editorial By Ray Gollis-Administrator Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011 Great Article By My favorite Author Shereen Jetvig. The right lunch bag and accessories will allow you to pack a variety of healthy foods. Lunch Bag TechBrown paper bags may be convenient and inexpensive, but they rip easily and don't help keep cold foods cold or hot foods hot. They're fine for a peanut butter sandwich and an apple, but not for much else. Metal or plastic lunch boxes with insulated beverage containers are one step up from the brown bag because they are sturdier. Your child can take a hot or cold beverage with his lunch, but it is still difficult to control the temperature of the foods -- so food choices are still limited.

Insulated lunch bags are the best choice for school lunches. Some insulated lunch bags are equipped with freezer packs; you can also buy freezer packs separately. There are bags with two or more compartments, so foods and beverages can be kept separate. Insulated lunch bags can be very fashionable as well. Some look more like a trendy purse or tote bag, and there are plenty of novelty bags to please any boy or girl.

The insulated bag and freezer packs will keep your child's lunch cold and, therefore, safe and fresh. Of course, your child may get tired of cold foods every day, so you also need insulated food jars for hot foods. Pick up a few plastic containers in smaller sizes and sandwich bags, too, and you'll be prepared to offer your child a variety of hot and cold healthy foods.

Healthy Lunch Bag Ideas Sandwiches are a popular choice for a school lunch. Remember that meats, dairy products, and eggs are perishable, so be sure to use a freezer pack to keep them cold. Choose whole grain bread, wraps, or pitas. If your child resists whole grain breads, use bread that is made with some whole grain but still has the flavor and texture of white bread. Each sandwich should have a healthy protein source and healthy toppings. Some suggestions:

Tuna sandwich wrap with light mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes

Egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread

Peanut butter, cashew, or almond butter with a 100 percent fruit spread on whole grain bread (a healthier PB&J)

Sliced turkey, lean roast beef, or chicken from the deli--or left over from last night's dinner--with light mayonnaise, mustard, and a slice of cheese

What should you send along with the sandwich? Hartsell spent time in the Army including combat in Vietnam, where he served with the elite military police. Hartsell, already an accomplished Judo man, Larry enjoyed sparring with soldiers from the elite South Korean ROK division stationed nearby. Upon his return to this country he enrolled in Bruce Lee's Chinatown school in Los Angeles. It was at this school that Hartsell began his thirty five years of training under Guro Dan Inosanto, which he continues to this day. Hartsell's training under Bruce Lee continued with Private instruction at Bruce Lee's home in Bel Air, California.

It is well known to the students of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do that Bruce Lee broke combat down into the four ranges of Kicking, Boxing, Trapping and Grappling. The serious students of Jeet Kune Do are also aware that the development of the grappling range techniques in this system were assigned to Larry Hartsell. At the time of Bruce Lee's untimely death there were only 33 formal techniques in the grappling range. As the final and closest range there was much research to do in this range and Hartsell has continued his research into this area with various discrete techniques that now form the core of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling.

Larry Hartsell's skill in hand-to-hand combat, his weapons training and his development of techniques in the grappling range led to a wide and varied range of professional experiences. With his training under Bruce Lee, his degree in criminology, his ten years of law enforcement experience, and his training under Dan Inosanto. Hartsell has been in wide demand as a professional bodyguard for celebrities like Mr. T of the A-Team fame, and as a trainer for both the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. In addition to this he has taught classes at his own schools as well as at the Inosanto Academy, and has offered self defense and combat courses for the elite Navy Seals and police officers through various colleges, agencies and elite law enforcement training programs.

Hartsell has authorized several books on the subject of Jeet Kune Do Grappling. "Entering to Trapping To Grappling and Takedowns, Counters, and Reversals." In addition he has seven internationally distribute videotapes on the grappling and combative arts. These books, videotapes and his skill in the grappling arts have resulted in Hartsell being listed in the "Who's Who in Martial Arts" and cover shots with numerous feature articles in Inside Kung Fu, Black Belt, Martial Arts Training, Inside Karate, Australian Fighting Arts, and many others.

Hartsell is the man Dan Inosanto described as "One of the premier Jeet Kune Do fighters of our time." Currently Hartsell has focused his efforts on the development of the Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association. With the tremendous rise in the popularity of the grappling arts it has become paramount to Hartsell to demonstrate to martial artists the fact that Jeet Kune Do has had a strong emphasis on the grappling range. Hartsell over the past thirty years has produced an extensive development of the grappling arts. The Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association currently has 22 United States and 17 International Representatives Worldwide. Hartsell continues to offer seminars through his members schools as well as through five international tours yearly. Additionally, he offers private intensive training programs to a number of students Worldwide in Marina del Rey, California.

By Tom Meadows

Thanks for taking the time to read this article....

Ray Gollis
Adminstrator

If you want to learn how Larry Hartsell Bruce Lee's Student put someone in a wrist lock where they cant get out. CLICK HERE

If you want to learn how to achieve the punching power that Bruce Lee achieved with his famous One Inch Punch that floored his opponents. I think I will try buying some Kiwi this week. So my advice today is to eat one or more serving of fruits and vegetables today. This is what I do eat more apples and oranges because they have more fiber.

The old saying is true: An Apple A Day, Keeps the Doctor Away...

Here is the Original Article from Shereen Jegtvig:

Enjoy Reading

Take care,

Talk To You Soon,

Ray Gollis-Administator

Original Source: Taken From
http://nutrition.about.com/od/eatmorefruitsandvegetables/f/Should-I-Avoid-Fruit-Juice.htm

Question: Should I avoid fruit juice?

I've heard that fruits are good for you, but fruit juice is bad. Do I need to avoid fruit juice altogether, or is a little bit okay?

Answer: Fruit juice isn't bad for you -- it actually can be very nutritious -- but you do need to keep track of the calories in the juice, and be sure to keep your overall calorie intake at a healthy level. Most people do not consume enough fruits and vegetables, so drinking fruit juice as a beverage will add a serving or two of fruit to your daily total.

That is, as long as it's 100% fruit juice.

Fruit drinks that contain very little fruit juice and lots of added sugars don't count as a serving of fruit. Fruit Juice Verses Whole FruitFruit juice contains the same nutrients that are found in whole fruit, but doesn't have the fiber

The fiber in the fruit may help to fill you up and keep you feeling full longer, while drinking juice won't have that same effect. So that makes it easier to take in more calories without realizing what you're doing. Fruit Juice Serving SizeOne serving of fruit juice is usually about six ounces or 3/4 of one cup of juice. Most of us need one to two cups of fruit or fruit juice every day (along with about two to three cups of vegetables).

You can have a serving or two of fruit juice every day, but be sure to eat some whole fruit too, so you get more fiber. Shopping for Fruit JuiceFruit juice is available at your local grocery store. There will be several varieties, and they'll be available in large bottles and single serving containers. The large containers or more economical; however, single serving packages are convenient and are good for brown bag lunches. When you shop for fruit juice, be sure to look for the words 100% fruit juice on the label.

You should also look at the ingredients list, which is especially important if you're buying juices such as pomegranate, acai or other exotic fruit juices -- they're frequently blended with apple or grape juice to cut costs.

Source:

United States Department of Agriculture and United States Department of Health and Human Services. This will benefit you and your heart as well. It is a good idea to speak to your doctor first to find out what exercise plan is going to be best for you and your body.

The energy nutrients that are stored like glucose and fatty acids with a few amino acids are let out into the blood during exercise in order to provide energy for what you are doing. This means that the body will respond to exercise by adjusting its fuel amounts.

There is a way to use diet to control high blood pressure and now they are finding out that exercise has a role in keeping blood pressure from increasing. With the reduction of sodium into your body, weight loss and limited alcohol use, along with the increased amount of physical activity and a low fat diet, you can control hypertension. Foods that are used for the purpose of lowering blood pressure without using medication can include sweets and many beverages that have sugar in them, red meat and fats.

To build muscle in the body, proteins are used and this is true when the body is at rest after exercise or any type of physical activity. There is research that has shown that athletes will retain more protein and use more of it as fuel for the body. The American Dietetic Association has said that one gram per kilogram of bodyweight is recommended for people that do not exercise at all. For the athletes, the protein amounts are going to be higher. It should be considered that athletes also need more carbohydrates as well. If they do not take in enough crabs, their protein will be used all up for fuel and there will not be anything left for muscle building after exercise is done.

There is increasing evidence that weight bearing exercises like walking, dancing, running, sports and so much more. Are very good at getting good bone health. Swimming has been a great use for bone health. Eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia have been said to damage bone strength. Exercise alone cannot make your body healthy. You need to have the proper calcium and other vitamins and minerals required for bones must go with the adequate amount of exercise to provide the best bone health. Along with exercise, diet can help keep your body working good and in the right mode for the rest of your life.

To Get More Tips Of Leading A Healthy Lifestyle

Remember Diets Dont Work! There is a reason behind every movement and style that is made. These concepts paved the way to building every form of Tai Chi. So you have to pay close attention on the things that are not brought up every once in a while because even though if things seem so basic, they are indeed important.

Here are 10 of the most important concepts of Tai Chi that you should never take for granted. Remember these and it will make you appreciate more the forms that are performed.

Concept #1

Tai Chi is done with emphasis on every movement and the fashion of every pattern must be in connected with one another. Meaning every motion made must always start from the spine, going down to the waist, then moving lower to the legs and the feet, then it is simultaneously going up to the body then the arms, hands and last, the fingers.

Concept #2

Maintain your shoulders dropped so that any tension will be eliminated. Shoulders that are always propped are said to have overflowing tension.

Concept #3

Your wrists must always be straight in order to form a lady’s hand if you are performing the Cheng form. All points apply to all forms of Tai Chi but the lady’s hand is basic and a very important trait of the Cheng form in order to cultivate the energy flowing in the body.

Concept #4

Moving slowly should always be done every step of the way. It can never be overemphasized because the slow smoothness of your motions will improve the connection of your body and your environment.

Concept #5

Never let anything disconnect you. You should always stay connected with every instruction. If you have been disconnected, continue to perform the movements and listen carefully to the instructions so that you can overcome any distraction.

Concept #6

Your knees must always be bent during the entire form. Your height must not bob down and up. There are some considerations but all the while, your height must always be maintained at a level that is constant.

Concept #7

The power of Tai Chi travels differently from the movement of Tai Chi. Power of Tai Chi will start from the feet going up to the legs, controlling the shoulders, and will be expressed by the fingers and hands.

Concept #8

Your head must be maintained as if it was suspended on air.

Concept #9

Your chest must be depressed and your back should be raised but this must be done without exerting any force.

Concept #10

Your breath must be focused on your dan-tien but force must not be exerted. As time in the program may pass, there will be accomplishments that will fulfill you like synchronizing your breathing with the movements that you make.

You should always consult your teacher when to exhale or inhale.

Thanks For Taking The Time To Read This Post

Ihab Masalami Guilty of All Counts, Including Murder Of Matthew Landry!!!

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/ihab-masalami-guilty-of-all-counts-including-murder-of-matthew-landry

http://martialartsandnutrition.weebly.com/my-blog/ihab-masalami-guilty-of-all-counts-including-murder-of-matthew-landry#comments

Uncategorized

Editorial by Ray GollisOctober 1, 2010Great News For Matthew Landry Family that Justice Was Served. Roseville Police Lt. Raymond Blarek testified today that he uncovered the body in his third day of canvassing abandoned and burned out properties near Seven Mile and Gratiot in search of the missing Chesterfield Township man. Landry, 21, hadn't been seen since Aug. 9, 2009, when prosecutors say he was carjacked and kidnapped from an Eastpointe Quiznos. His car was recovered under a pile of brush in the yard of an abandoned home in Detroit on Aug. 11, 2009.

Blarek said he walked down a beaten-down footpath and stepped inside the house. That's where he saw the lifeless body. Landry was lying face-down with his legs crossed at the ankles. It appeared he'd been kneeling and had a bullet entry wound in the back of his head, Blarek said.

"It was obvious to me that he was dead," Blarek said, adding the body could not be immediately identified due to decomposition. "There was a strong, strong possibility that this was Matt Landry."

As Blarek detailed his Aug. 13, 2009, discovery this morning for a Macomb County jury, the 18-year-old accused in the abduction and slaying sat emotionless. Ihab Maslamani of Flint is charged along with Robert Taylor, 17, of Detroit, in the Aug. 9, 2009, abduction and murder of Landry. Maslamani is facing a total of 21 felony charges on claims he's behind a multicity crime spree that included bank robbery, carjackings and Landry's kidnapping and death.

Maslamani yawned while Blarek confirmed for the teen's attorney, Ryan Machasic, that police had received information that Landry had visited the area of Seven Mile and Gratiot "from time to time to purchase marijuana."

The defense has argued that Landry knew Maslamani and Taylor from his visits to that drug area in Detroit. The three may have been "horsing around" in the sub shop parking lot that August day, as opposed to accounts Landry was taken against his will, defense attorneys say.

Blarek testified he began searching for Landry on his own after he uncovered an apparent connection between Maslamani and an Aug. 10, 2009, robbery at a Flagstar Bank in Harrison Township; the Aug. 11, 2009, carjacking in Roseville; and Landry's abduction.

Prosecutors have shown surveillance footage of Maslamani using Landry's bank card at a gas station in Detroit after the abduction. He was also caught on tape driving Landry's Honda to a second gas station.

Maslamani's attorneys admit the teen robbed the bank and committed the Roseville carjacking. They've also conceded that Maslamani stole the ATM card and Landry's car. But they maintain he didn't kill Landry and evidence linking him to the death is "circumstantial."

Prosecutors say evidence tying Maslamani to the death is "inescapable."

From The Detroit News: http://www.detnews.com/article/20100929/METRO03/9290394/1361/Jury-sees-photos-of-victim-s-body-in-Maslamani-case#ixzz112BMAUOV
