Grow Up! - Hebrews 5:11-14

Today, Pastor Jamie Rasmussen brings us to these hard-hitting words found in Hebrews 5:11-14:

"11About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil." (ESV)

Jamie shares that some of us have become stunted in our spiritual growth. Some have zeal without knowledge, have knowledge, but lack experience; and some have ongoing sin that holds them back.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. (Hebrews 1:1-4 ESV)

The author of Hebrews wants us to first understand two things:

Who Jesus is.
What Jesus has done.
