Living the life of your dreams is a lot like sailing.

You pick your destination, hoist up your sail, make minor adjustments while the journey is underway, and let the wind do all the hard work.

In other words, imagine the end result, do what little you can, make minor adjustments while the journey is underway, and let me blow your mind.

Of course, there are also a few "don'ts." Like don't think that just because there's magic in life you won't have to hoist up your sails, or that doing so will instantly deliver you to your destination. Don't assume that just because there isn't wind one day it's a "sign" that something is wrong, or that you won't have it tomorrow.
And, perhaps most importantly, don't forget to pack your Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, and cupcakes.

Thought Of The Day...

Yesterday I watched a small bird, flying very fast, disappear into the canopy of an oak tree. So dense were its leaves that it was impossible to see what happened next, though I can tell you it remained inside.

I wondered how the little bird found its opening through the leaves at such a speed, and then managed to gently align its fragile body on the branch it chose to land upon, all within a fraction of a second. Not to mention the impossible to imagine flying maneuvers required: the banking, the curling, the vertical and horizontal stabilizations, the deceleration and landing.

Memory? Calculation? Not in that tiny brain. Instinct? Maybe, but how does instinct know which way the branches of a tree have grown when no two are the same?

No, that little bird just knew. It had faith, in spite of not being able to see how things would work out, that if (and only if) it stayed the course the details would be taken care of; that an opening would appear and a twig would be found. In fact, had she slowed down enough to carefully and logically inspect the tree first, the prudent thing to do, she would have lost her lift and fallen to the ground.

Kind of like reaching for your dreams. Neither memory, nor calculating, nor instincts are the deciding factors, but faith coupled with action.

WARNING: Staying the course is NOT the same as clinging to a HOW.

Manifesting the Big Stuff

So you're great at manifesting the small stuff; the parking spot, miniscule amounts of money, getting the table you want in the restaurant, but you stop short when it comes to manifesting the big stuff. Why does this happen, and what can you do to change it?

It's all about attachments.

You see, when you focus on something smaller like a parking spot, there is no struggle or life and death situation attached to that particular want. You focus on the parking spot and if you get it great, but if you don't, you walk a little farther and you don't think any more about it.
But when you focus on something bigger, like money, there are all kinds of attachments you have for why you want it. You may want it because you are struggling financially and there may be a desperate feeling attached to the thought of the money. There's that word again...attached.

When using the Law of Attraction it is important to become detached from what you want making sure there are no desperate or other negative feelings attached to your want. So how can you stay detached when it is something that you want or need so badly? By really seeing what you want and trusting and knowing that it will come to you.

Here's an example. We'll use money as the want but this works for anything that you are desiring in your life. So you want enough money to live the rest of your life on. The first thing that may happen is your logical mind will tell you that it isn't possible. That you have to work hard to get ahead. This thought process can be something that can keep you from your desire alone because what you focus on and believe is what makes the manifestation of your creation.

Begin by telling yourself you don't want to believe in this limiting way any longer and find a positive replacement thought for the 'work hard' thought; something to the effect of: 'I can have the financial success I want with ease'.
Next, think about what the money can do for you. What is it that ultimately you want? It really isn't the cars or the travel, but the thought of feeling free, the thought of feeling secure, the thought feeling safe, the thought of always having enough. By focusing on those thoughts instead of the money, you will be less attached to the money itself. When you visualize focus on what life will be like feeling free, feeling secure, feeling safe, and feeling that you always have enough. See the life that you want and feel and visualize your daily life feeling the feeling of what money will ultimately give you. By focusing on the feelings of what money can bring to you, you have gone beyond wanting the actual money. And by doing that you are jumping the logical mind hurdle because you aren't attached to money in and of itself.

When you can get beyond the actual physical thing and find out why you want it and focus on that feeling and thought, you will become less attached and that is what will bring you the bigger stuff.

Here is a point that is important. Make sure that what you ultimately are asking for doesn't have to do with 'because you want to be better than someone else'. Sometimes we are driven to succeed in an area because we want to 'show them' that you can do it. This kind of a focus will bring you an underdog thought pattern and it will continue to repeat in your life. Make sure your focus is one of how it will affect you and only you in your life.

Being less attached and trusting the Universe will bring to you what you want in your life. Feel no 'do or die' kind of a situation and if you see your focus fooling with that kind of thought then 'jump the attachment' and go for the feeling of what you really want through the Law of Attraction.
