Its more fun to watch the kids unwrap them and see the happiness on their faces. I like to keep the surprises hidden its more fun. But I know some people just make piles of gifts. It was suggested to me that i just set out the gifts under our tree, but I decided to wrap them, it took me three nights and yards of paper and 3 rolls of tape. I had way to many gifts for the kids, I filled three trash bags up with torn paper.

I felt it was a waist of time. It might be a good idea to just pile up the gifts and have them in stacks for each kid but their is something about them taring into a wrap gift. Growing up we always had wrapped gifts except for the huge ones like a bike or similar. They would have a bow and some ribbons. I Feel the need to torture myself each year and hide the gifts in colored paper that cost to much to be riped off.

There is the goal of loosing weight, but this time It will be because I will have gotten the gastric by-pass, and yes I know whats involved, My mom had it done over 10 years ago. I start in January with my meetings at Ohio State Hospital. There will be lots of meetings and test and I'm ready for it all.

Next I will be moving into a new place, and starting over again. I cant wait for this.

I will also be finished with my AA BA in April some time.

I will also have three out of my four in school and not just day care, My John starts kindergarten in the fall, and the twins will be in second grade(good lord I feel old). Sense we are moving and I'm not sure where this will be exactly I will have to wait to see if Owen will be going to day care or pre school or be home with me.

I also have smaller goals for my family that I have been working on but hope to perfect them and they are to :

Help Penny with her copping skills and impulse control to lower the amount and severity of her fits. Help her with her OCD and try to get her off the ADHD meds. But if we still need meds to help her I wont see it as a failure but as a step to getting her off at a later date.

To teach Owen and Lil John that hugs are more fun then fighting and perfecting our bed time routine so its shorter and works the first time.

I also want to help John reach his goal of reading by the time he starts kindergarten in the fall, he can write say and tell you his ABC's. He can also spell his color words and his full name. He's doing very well in Pre-K.

I think these are all achievable goals as I already have the steps to complete them.

So I might write this way also. Some memories are remembered as dreams. I've dreamed of him being alive. That he would show up at my wedding and walk me down the isle.I have also had many other dreams. A lot of them are of death, not knowing whats to come I hate surprises. I need to know whats out their. But in reality this is not a dream where I can decide the outcome its real life. But what I hope is their is a heaven and that my dad is looking down and he knows he has grand children and that he also has another child with my mom.
See when dad passed, my mom was about six weeks pregnant with my sister. My mother never had a chance to tell him, she was not even sure yet if she was or not. About nine months later my sister was born. I think my sister has it worse then me. She never got to meet him. She only can see him in a photo. I can only remember him from a photo.

At some point after his passing we moved to a little house. I cant remember much of it, I do know I had a bunk bed and I had the top bunk. I used to love putting all the stuffed toys on top of me and falling asleep. I also knew that our washer and dryer were outside the house. And one day I was walking out their and I managed to step on a slab of wood that had nails on top sticking up. I walked back and forth a few times and step on it enough to get 3 holes in my foot. The part I remember was that it did not hurt, I just left a trail of blood behind me. I was probably 5-6 years old. I still prefer to walk barefoot. Those nails are not the only things I've ever stepped on either.

I remember dad taking us fishing on the piers. Ive never caught a fish in my life. I used to walk on the rocks under the pier and lining the shore. I used to catch the little crabs that hide their. All my memories of fishing with dad are blurred into one trip. What I do remember are parts of each trip that make up on day on the shore.

About my life. Lots of people I talk to say I've had it hard. A few others have said I have a Jerry Springer life. Lots of my memory is in blocks, one memory will lead me to another one. I feel I have forgotten many things.I plan on blogging some of my memories and randomly posting them. Some day I might put them in a book. This is one of my father, One of many I want to write about him. I cant remember what my father looks like unless I find a picture. He died when I was five years old.

I remember that night well Its one of the only memories I have of my father. I was in my bedroom with my younger brother he is 22 mos younger then me, and my grandfather. I remember my mom screaming, but I'm not sure if she did or not. I know she told me to stay in bed and she got my grandpa up. I just sat their I had no idea what was happening. The rest of my memories of that night are blurred. I think I remember a white sheet, and crying. Then my memory skips to the funeral. I only remember a flag, the one my mom received. The rest of my memories form that time are from photos, apparently we took pictures with my half brother and half sister Olin and Misty. I did not see them again till I was a teenager. The other memories I have of him are from stories that people tell me of him, I then form pictures in my mind of what it must have been like.

Our mind is an amazing thing. I'm sure if I were to remember more of that very night I can drive me crazy. When I do think of my fathers death, it makes me wish he did not die and that he was here. I don't know what its like to have a father he was taken when I was so young. Sometimes I dream or wish that , that night never happened. What I do wish is that he was alive and just decided not to be with is and run from mom. This to me would be mean towards my mom but it would give me the hope that some day daddy will come back and want to see me. But I know he was my dad and I know hes dead and where he is now means he can never come back and see me. My dad was the first person in my memory to have died. Their is a new and more updated way of doing CPR. I would encourage everyone to go to the American Heart Association and take a class. Their is a new way a second way of doing CPR, its called chest compressions only CPR. Their is oxygen in a person lungs when they collapse and are in need of CPR, and you have about 5 mins where you can do compression only and the body will use the O2 that is still in the lungs. I am not a certified teacher so I want everyone to take their own class and learn this new way, its an alternative for someone who does not want to do the mouth to mouth part. But this option is not the best option for all cases. That's why you need to take a class to learn.

You can save a life.

I believe as most health care providers do that the common every day non health care provider should learn CPR,and Basic First Aid. Even knowing the basics of CPR can save a persons life. How many people can say that they know what to do in an emergency situation. Can you keep your cool. Can you give orders. When the time comes can you remember how to call 9-1-1. I have spoken to a few people that for got how to dial 9-1-1. When you stressed and in a hurry details matter. Proper training can prepare you for an emergency. Most people know the signs of a Heart Attack, but do you know what to do next. Can you tell the signs of a Stroke(CVA). What do you do when you are badly burn, bitten by a snake, spider, or wild animal? Can you help stop bleeding? I bet you don't even know the number to poison control in your area.

Taking a CPR class and or a First Aide Class is a great way to be prepared. you can contact the American Heart Association for details and a listing of classes. Other ways to be prepared for an emergency is to have well stocked First Aid Kits. Know if your place of work has an AED machine, and a list of people qualified use it. Keep a kit in your car. Include in your kits gloves, and face shields. Program your cell phone with poison controls number, so you don't have to search for it. You can never be too prepared , don't just be a bystander.

American Heart Association

http://www.deancare.com/crs/ca/cpr.gif

When I was a little girl I always thought time went to slow all I wanted to do was grow up so I can move on with my life. Now I feel like time went to fast , all I want it to do is slow it down. I was not much of a kid, I did not play much and my idea of fun was watching TV with my family. I was a home maker in training. At 5 I was cooking, in fact I was able to fry chicken and make dishes like spaghetti. This is one of the reasons I love to cook. I Use to take care of my little sister as well. I was like an old soul in a child's body. Now a year away form being 30 I been thinking about how how much I want to be a child again. Kids don't have bills or jobs. The only care they have is whats Santa's gonna bring you , and birthday candle wishes, and pony rides. Long summers, pool time and slumber parties.

Now that I have kids of my own I see their lives pass by so fast. When they were babies I could not wait for them to crawl and walk and talk , Now that they do, I'm always saying sit down and shut up. Hahaha well that's what everyone says. I wish I could turn back the time so I could smell their baby sent again, see the first smiles and the faces they made when I gave them lemons and jello for the first times. Those are the moments you treasure. They are going to be teenagers and young adults before I know it. I have to stop and remember to enjoy the moments and let them be kids. My kids cant cook like I did at the same age, and they have no interest in helping to take care of the younger kids. But they are good kids and they have lots of fun. they are nothing like me but in the same way just like me. Now I can pretend to be young again.

I had never heard of some of the events they had, but I enjoyed watching it very much. I spent the weekend with my boy friend in his area. All the towns near him are pretty small, If you blink you passed one. Every year they have a Corn Festival to celebrate the harvesting of the corn.

My boy friend John enters his tractors into the festival, and does a things call a tractor pull. I have never heard of seen this before. I had no idea what I was in for.

This is John on his tractor, he pulled 4th in his division. not to bad but he wanted to do better. He does this every year. I found it interesting, some of the tractors are very old and did a really good job.

Along with the tractor pull their was a variety of other games they played like corn on the cob eating contest, pie eating contest, rolling pin throwing contest. Their were others but lots to list.

Their was also a horse pulling contest where they pulled the same things the tractor but did much better at it. Their was also the huge verity of carnival foods.

I had a awesome time, even seen out house races. Yes thats right out houses. They make them out of things like boxes and plastic and fabric. It was so much fun to watch that I forgot to take pictures.

I dont even want to think of how or what she did to the baby , what I want to know is why. Why would she feel the need to video it and then send it to her boy friend. It seems to me he needs to be investigated as well. He might have a sick past as well. What needs to be done now is have her spend the rest of her life in prison and have her reproductive parts riped out. Well they wont rip them out but I can hope they do send her away for the rest of her life. And I hope that her lil boy never finds out what happened to him. Being so young their my be hope that he wont ever remember this act of evil. He said "Choosing Death at the end Of Life". The first words out of my mouth was wow that's a heavy topic. I see the fight many elderly and sick people give when they are at the end of their life. I'm a home health aid with a Medical Assisting degree. I have seen a few people die. I have not been in the room when they are actively dieing. Death can take a long time, the body goes through many steps before the end. I have seen many of the steps. My job is to keep the patient comfortable. Hospice can be their and they provide the patient with pain relievers and the medication they may need. Most of the care I give is personal, I keep the patient clean and comfortable. If they are still eating then I cook for them, I will also feed them. I provide emotional support as well. I talk with them keep them calm. I will also do house work so the family is not trying to all the work as well. I'm their to make the family comfortable as well.

Some of the questions I get from the family, are how long does dieing take, are they in pain, and few others. Most questions I have to refer them to their Doctor or Hospice. I cant give some of the answers. I'm not a Doctor so I have boundaries. I do have my own ideas on the death process but I keep them to myself. Its not my job to give the family my opinion.

I feel the dieing process takes a long painful time. I don't want to die this way. I hope for a painless in my sleep death. But we don't have that choice. People have the right to choose certain things at their death such as if they want to be resuscitated in the event they stop breathing, this is called a DNR with out one a medical provider has to start CPR. I do think that when someone is dieing and they should have the right to end it how they want to. Fast and painless is what most want. It can take months before its over and most are dehydrated and have not eatin in a week or more. I don't want to die starving. That's not painless in my books. A patient can loose a lot of weight, they loose control of their bowels and bladder. I don't want to die messing in my pants I want to go, clean and painless with a last meal and comfortable. Two of my kids love cottage cheese and its good for you and is a very healthy snack. Here is my problem with this. Breakstone's cottage cheese is very good IF you buy the larger containers, how ever I buy single serving sizes because its a snack. the snack size cheeses are dry and nasty... they tend to settle in the plastic little containers and even when you mix it the cheese curds themselves are dry. They have no good flavor. But the larger containers taste just fine, even the same low fat ones taste better.

The worst part is I either buy the big ones and portion out lots of little containers when ever a snack is needed or I suck it up and eat the nasty tasting ones. Breakstone's are the only ones ive found in single serving sizes as well so I dont even have another brand to choose from. They do how ever have single serving size ones with fruit flavors but I hate sweet cottage cheese I prefer a more savory taste, such as tomatoes and pepper. I just want more choices or better quality. Its a Cars the movie cake. I used yellow cake with my secret recipe added. Fondant and Wilton's icing were used along with pipping edible glitter, and food coloring. The cake only took me about 6 hours to deco. I loved making this it was fun. It was made in July of 2011, and sold for 80$. The woman that bought it loved it.

Debbie loves Irish things and clovers. So my plan was to make her a chocolate cake with the Irish flag. The cake is yellow cake and brownie mix, mixed together, its a 2 layer 9 inch cake filled with a layer of butter cream frosting and dark chocolate peppermint patties laid out all nice and even. I then placed even more butter cream frosting over the patties. The outside of the cake is a nice thick layer of white butter cream that i sprayed with edible coloring to look like a Irish flag. I then used black frosting that I mixed by mixing several colors together cause I did not have black at the time. It look just like black without the harsh flavor. For the clovers I used a glittery green edible gel. Debbie loved her cake and so did her guest there were no left overs by morning.

My neighbor is 79 years old and shovels her drive way and even mows her own lawn. She is also handy with power tools.
Would you ever believe that this was once a bathroom sink. Originally Found at Penny's Outlet center, it was a damaged floor piece. There is a marble sink inlay, broken of course. My Neighbor got them to sell her the sink for 30$ cause to fix the marble or to replace it would have been very costly. I'm sure the company was happy to make any money on a broken floor piece. This is now a cabinet in her living room. She had taken a solid piece of wood cut it to fit beveled the edges to keep the details, and had a stain colored to match the original. Original cost was over 400.00. The Eco-friendly part is that this is a new piece of furniture that will not end up in a landfill and will most likely become a family heirloom.

Another few works of art she has made has given me many ideas. Not that Iv had time to make my own someday I will.
This was infants changing table. Found in a garage sale, its solid wood. She stained and buffed out the ware and tare. Its now its her buffet in her dining room.

Here is a rocking stool part of a glider set. she bought it also at a garage sale and reupholstered it. Now it matches the rooms in her home.

Most ideas are trash to treasure, and just pure bargain hunting. If you have the time to repair and re-due something you can create anything. And Valentines Day Is just around the corner. I have a bunch of craft supplies from my scrap booking days (back when I had time). I was just trying to come up with a kid friendly idea where there was not much parent involvement other then guidance. What I came up with was a centerpiece for the table. You and you honey can have a wonderful dinner with a lovely center piece made by your kids....

Supplies:

Craft Glue

Paper of different colors (I used scrap booking paper)

Wooden meat sticks (look like long tooth picks)

Misc stickers (heart shapes but any kind of Valentines day type would look cute)

Pre-cut hearts in random colors (scrap booking supplies I had on hand)

Styrofoam balls and a basket or cute base that the ball will sit in.

Step 1- have kids(help) trace there hands on the color paper that they choose. Let dry completely. (I occupied kids during this time by serving dinner)

Step 5- put a sticker over the end of the wood stick to cover it and make it look nice.

Step 6- kids can stick the wood sticks into the Styrofoam ball and help them place them so its balanced. and when your finished you will have a little hand garden full of love.

You can substitute for any supplies you have on hand. A cute ceramic pot would make a really nice base if you have one on hand.

I came up with this Idea after standing in front of all my supplies trying to come up with an Idea to occupy there time and allow me to finish cooking dinner. My kids due to cold weather and just being sick lately can not go outside, So I needed to be creative. My kids were able to put the the sticker on them selves and my sister in law helped with the glue. Bed time came fast after and the hands were not dried so we continued it the next day. It turned out very cute.
