How is your love story, engagement and your lives?
Our love story begins with God’s puppeteer every move to get us together. We both attended different churches at different times but didn’t even realize we were just around the corner. In June 2009, God’s final plan was set. We ended up sitting at the same table, in the same church, at the exact same time. We became friends quite quickly which developed into something beautiful. Within a month, we were inseparable. It was as if God custom designed us for each other. After 7 months of knowing each other, Roly decided to solidify our relationship by asking the big question! We were engaged on the balcony of a Veil Colorado resort, under a blue moon, overlooking the Colorado Mountains. It was breathtaking in every way. Since our engagement, our life motto has been that laughter is the best medicine! And it is, oh so true! Not a day goes by that we don’t laugh at each other, at ourselves or at life. This keeps us young at heart. We love living life together and the journey only gets better…. the more miles we put on it!

Tell us about the wedding day. Any funny or scary stories, why did you choose that venue, favorite part of the wedding day?
On August 6, our dream wedding day unfolded. We chose Plymouth Congregational church because of it’s gorgeous old vintage feel. We had chosen the Westin Colonnade in Coral Gabels because of it’s vintage atmosphere and classic look. On the wedding day, my mom and I decided to tan by the pool. I warned her to wear a hat or sunblock… but for once the daughter was right! She turned red and I joked with her, calling her the desperate housewife of orange county. She’ll never live it down. Another incident, was my husband to be at the time, lost his vintage classic white bowtie so after some time of searching… it was still lost! He had to do a list minute switch to clip on bowtie, which was dissappointint to say the least. Overall though, we still agree nothing would deter us from having the greatest time of our lives!

What were you looking for in a photographer, and what specifically drew you to Maloman Photographers?
We searched for a few months for a photographer who could capture the natural, most real moments on such a special day in our lives. We had seen the gorgeous work of Maloman Photographers from prior events and even close friends who used them on their special day. We were positive, beyond a shadow of a doubt that Maloman would come through with the best shots for our wedding day! Wedding at Ballroom at the Ben, Philadephia: Jackie & Kyle

First I’d like to thank Jackie and Kyle for having us shoot your amazing Philadelphia wedding. What a blast we had with this one. You guys were up for anything and this definitely shows. I knew this will be fun when we shot the engagement session.

Destination weddings are fun for us because we get to experience and document something different… like Mummers and stopping traffic on Broad Street to shoot in front of the Philadelphia City Hall or cut infront of the line at Gino’s for some “after ceremony snack”… gotta love Geno’s! Best cheese steaks in Philly (and I know that because we tried them all). Enjoy!

Wedding at The Epic Hotel, Miami: Mariel & Wade

Our European vacation is over so we’re back and working hard to get caught up. We have so many incredible weddings to blog from the past few months, Its is ridiculous. I may need a full-time blogger. Mariel and Wade got married back in April at the uber modern Epic Hotel in downtown Miami.

This was our first wedding at The Epic and hopefully not our last one! Ivette Perez from the Epic and Vanessa Oppo with Karma Goddess really did a fabulous job and made the day run very smoothly. We love you longtime!

Engagement Session in Chicago: Megan & Luis

Chicago is definitely my kind of town. I love everything about this city… the food, downtown, ball game at Wrigley Field, weather (I’ll have to go back there in January for a final decision on that) but most of all the people. We got to love those mid-westerners like Megan & Luis. We had such a blast shooting their engagement session and then hanging out for brunch at Bongo Room. All images were captures in and around legendary location…Navy Pier in Chicago.

I have so many amazing things coming up on the blog. Will I EVER catch up? This post will make a great addition to my archives of old Hollywood style engagement sessions, except this one is more like an old Chicago style session. We shot around Michigan ave, downtown & Lincoln Park.

Michelle & Johnny are some of the kindest people I ever photographed and they were great host showing us around Chi-town and hanging out with us. Your upcoming wedding will a pleasure to cover.
