Submission of Your Blog To Search Engine

Important: Before you do this step, make sure you already write your first blog.

Today, is the second part of the topic. It is now time for you to grow your blog. Since, you already made your first article, this make money online step will give you the idea on how to submit your blog to some of the familiar search engine. Because this is the first step way to drive a traffic to your site. Remember our goal? The more visitors or traffic to your site, the more chances of making money on it.

For sure you will ask me, how can I get money with my visitors without adsense or other ways to monetize this blog? Of course, we will be dealing that on the third part of this blog. It's easy to monetize a blog if you have traffic or visitors. For the meantime, let's concentrate on how we can get a traffic.

Yesterday, I'm doing this activity that's why I did not make any update on this blog. I submitted my blog to the following familiar search engine. Just click on the link to submit your blog:

MSN Live Search

Technorati

GoArticles.com - This is part of article marketing that I will discuss as we go along...

For Google, Yahoo and MSN just submit your URL on the link provided and you will be notified that you successfully submitted your article. By the way, MSN search engine is now called a " BING". These search engines will crawl to your site once you made an update to your blog.

For Technorati, they are required you to sign up first. Create an account.You may do it. It's easy. " Claim Your Blog" . But I would like to remind you that Technorati uses tags. Be sure to tag your blog correctly. It also uses PING button on the site that you will click to alert technorati whenever you have update on your blog. But if you want technorati to ping automatically, the instruction provided there. For Blogger.com just go to SETTINGS then click Basic then set your " Add Your Blog to our listing?" to "yes". Everytime technorati pings, it will crawl to your site if you made any update to your blog. Technorati will indexed you faster once you made a correct tag.

But how will get more traffic at technorati? Ping technorati during peak hours of reading. For Philippines, its between 10am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 5pm. In America, as far as I know its 11am to 1pm. In other words, know the peak reading time of the English people. Technorati will get you listed at the top if your topic is the one popular being search by the readers. More visitors will drive to your site.

For GoArticles.com, this is already a part of article submission. I already started submitting my article similar to this one. Do not copy paste it. Just see what I did here. The reason why you need to submit it is because it will served as your free backlinks. See my previous discussion on My Second Step Way to Make Money Online. The more backlinks you have in the higher page rank, the more you can get indexed and get high in page rank.

After doing this, your visitors will not boost automatically, it will take some time before it boost. For the meantime, continue doing your blogs as we go along. We are now in progress on make money online.

My Third Step Way To Make Money Online

Actually, I'm trying not to include this post on my Make Money Online With Donny. Why? Because I'm assuming that some intelligent readers would think that I'm insulting their intelligence. I just want to say this in reality that some people or bloggers do not know the parts of their blog. They just go on blogging to make money online alone.

Why is it important to know the parts of your blog?

The parts of your blog is the one that speaks to your site. There are some visitors which are not familiar to your site and just go to the parts of your blog just for instance your "LABELS" or "CATEGORIES" where they will able to look for the topic of their interest. If you do not have these parts, the visitors will just leave your site and look for another one where they will satisfied their needs. This is what I would like to tell you guys. Visitors of your site are our customers. If you really want to make money online, improve your service first. You will think that this is a little old fashion rule but it really works as an experienced blogger. I know that this blog is an ugly one, but if you take a look with its content, it serves full of important informations in which my readers would satisfy.

Lets begin with our next step....

Understanding the Parts of Your Blog

There are several parts of your blog. Each parts are important to make your readers would see what they want to see on your blog.

Homepage - this is the landing page of your readers or visitors. It is important that you must create a Homepage where your readers are comfortable to stay with. You have many options on how to create your homepage. You can create your homepage with stunning or eye catching logo and background to drive more visitors. In my case, I just choose the plain color light yellow background with the attracting short message on top of it as " This ugly blog will teach you the step by step ways to Make Money Online". It sounds different but it makes sense. This is the way I made my homepage to attract my visitors.

Homepage must include the following important parts or elements:

About Me Page - This page will contain an information about yourself. Important things that must see on this page are : your short background which tells about your short family background, picture (optional), present work, description of your interest, which relates the reason why you are the best blogger on the subject matter, your contact would also love to see by your readers ( others prefer their contact separated with other page) so that they can get in touch with you whenever they need your assistance related to your blog.

Contact Page Information - A what I've said above, this can be done on a separate page. What informations that you need to be included here? For me, I prefer only my email address. You can also add your other contact information like friendster account, facebook, multiply or twitter. Some other include their cellphone numbers but only I prefer not to include. Why? If ever your readers call you while you are on your other important task to be prioritize first, you cannot entertain him immediately by anwering his call. If that happened, your readers would take it negative and make them drive away from your site. That really happens.

Categories - to help your readers find what they are looking for, it is important to create your blog categories. This should be updated so that the readers can easily track in to the topic they want to see especially for those broad topics. Make it specific. You can also use of your keywords but overusing it may get you into trouble of spam.

Archive by dates can also be useful for the readers especially those who are willing to see update on your blog by dates.

Blog rolls - this is a list of links to a blog which other blogger really likes it. Others do it by exchange of links. I really don't advise you to do exchange of links. at this time. But I would like to say, trust me for this for the meantime for I will explain it to you on my other post. Doing it by categories is a very good approach. This blogroll will also helps to drive visitors especially those relates to their topic of interest.

Subscription Options - This has something to do with the RSS. So, what is RSS? RSS means Really Simple Syndication. Do you see the orange color small button at the bottom of this blog? That is RSS. It gathers all information in a single location in the form of feed and can be read through feed reader. Popular feed reader are Google reader and Bloglines. You can create your account there for you to received updated contents of the blog.

How will you create an RSS feed to your blog?

Blogging software like Blogger.com or wordpress have RSS feed built-in. You can just add it your blog. For Blogger.com, just ADD GADGET and look for Subscription link. For Wordpress, it is available in their widgets.

Other ways of creating an RSS to your blog is through feedburner . Remember, when I mentioned in My First Step Way To Make Money Online to tackle lately about setting up your site feed? I will show you how.

At Blogger.com, you need to set up your site feed when you used feedburner unlike wordpress, you only need to create your account and make your feed set-up at feedburner. For both blogging software this is how you will do it:

Create a google account, you can use it to log in to your feedburner account.
Then its time for you to type your own URL or blog address. In my case, http://makemoneyonline-donny.blogspot.com, then click next. If you are a podcaster, don't forget to check "I'm a podcaster". If not, you may not need it.
Next, your own feed address will be created in the form as shown below. Click image to enlarge. (This is only an example). Click next.

Take note of your feed address in this format: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/wordpress/Nncb. This is the one that you will put in the POST FEED REDIRECT URL on SITE FEED column under SETTINGS of blogger.com ( this will be done later after feedburner activation. Then, click next.

Then, just check "Clickthroughs "which tracks how people click items back to your site. Then also check, "I want more! Have Feedburner Stats also track". Click next.

The message show that your feedburner is now activated.
After activation, put the feed address in the POST FEED REDIRECT URL on SITE FEED column under SETTINGS of blogger.com. Then, hit save.

You may also set-up your email subscription of your feedburner under PUBLICIZE column. Update will be send automatically to your subscriber once you made a new post in your blog. The code will be provided to be put on your site. If you like the RSS feed sign, just go to Chicklet Chooser of feedburner under PUBLICIZE. The code will be also provided to put on your site. Then, you may complete the settings of your feedburner. I will leave it to you. It's just easy. If you have any questions about this just leave a comment after this post.

Blogpost - experts says that 75% of your screen page is your blogpost or simply you may apply the rules in blog content that I had mentioned in My Second Step Way To Make Money Online . I recommend 1 post which is the latest one display in your frontpage. The visitors or readers will be able to track immediately for any update you made in your blog. In setting up your blog post. I recommend you to include the following important elements: Date, Title of your post ( must be specific and use your keywords as necessary), author or the writer because some other blogger have multiple authors in their blog, images on your post to show some useful demonstrations like the one I did here in this post as well as my previous post because it also drive traffic especially if your topic is seems to be interesting to the readers, Blog comments, and trackbacks.

I just want to clear something on Blog Comments and Track backs....

Blog Comments is optional to the blogger. Some blogger doesn't like blog comments because of spam issue and they don't like being criticize in the form of comments by their readers. You may close your blog comment if you choose too. The option is they prefer email message as a formal conversation of question and answer. In the other way, I recommend your blog comments open to the readers because it shows a two way communication and other can have an opportunity to join or share their ideas.

Track backs or the links in your blog contents are used to show the original source of information of your blog and the other purpose is to know where your post is linking to in the form of trackbacks.

Blog footer- is located at the bottom of the homepage. Important elements that may see here are: copyright statement, owner or company name, blogs designer email or webmaster link. You can used this in variety of purposes. You may use this to put your About me page and whatever you think valuable to put here.

These are the basic parts of your blogs. As much as possible, it should be appear in your blog parts. Note: I'm still ongoing for completion of my blog parts. Pardon me, for I'm still busy these past few days....

My Second Step Way To Make Money Online

UPDATE: Before I begin my third post, I would like to update you of what is happening right now in this ugly plain blog. Make Money Online With Donny is now sitting up on the front page of Google at number 9 and 10 for the keyword make money online with donny after I had written my second post. Please click the image to enlarge.

It only means that Google had paid my sacrifice somehow for the first step I had made in this blog. That for only 5 days I got indexed already for the blog title itself ( the blog that you are reading). Looking at for the other keywords like "make money online, make money blogging, make money donny" were not yet achieved by this blog for its too early because this blog was only born last June 3, 2009. If you were able to follow the first post which I had written last June 3, I think you were also got indexed right now. For those who haven't read yet my first post, you may catch it right now. We need to aim the highest page rank in order to get more traffic which means that the more traffic or visitors the more click on your adsense to make money.

Sorry for the long introduction... For the first step, I had written an example of a first post which tells about the initial description of this site. It's now ok that somehow we had an initial post which tells Google about your topic. But before we proceed, it is important that your blog have dress up with a design and let's understand some important terms used when making a blog so that as we go along, we are still on our track. This will begin our topic Second Step Way To Make Money Online.

Learn To Customize Your Blog

Customize your blog is somewhat synonymous of designing it. You want something the way it looks, like other sites with stunning graphics. Just keep in mind that in this step, we will try not to spend a single centavo just to design this site. I don't want to spend for almost $70 just to make this site beautiful and eye catching. The objective of this step is to customize this site from the scratch which means we will only first use the tool which is available at Blogger.com. Assuming that we have no idea about the sites where we can get some useful templates or tools in designing our blog. I will show you the basic ways on how to do it simple. Sorry for the experts who are reading this blog. I don't mean to insult your intelligence but some people do not know how to do it.

Here's how:

Using Blogger as our blogging software, just click CUSTOMIZE then it will prompt you to the overall Layout of your blog. Under that column it consists of the following: Page Element, Fonts and Color , Edit HTML and Pick New template. Let's get into detail for each:

Page Elements -This column consists of the parts of your blog. It is important that you need to understand each parts. Adding gadgets are available at blogger like putting adsense on it. I will discuss detailed about adsense on the other topic when we start to monetize this blog. For the meantime, you will need to plan initially where to put your adsense on page elements. Aside from that, you will need to create your own account first and have it approved by Google. Adding gadgets of adsense have no use at this time because it will only appear public service ads. Adsense content will only appear when your application had approved by Google. That's the start of making money with your adsense clicks when you have more traffic.

Let's now keep on track....

Each gadget consists in your page elements can be drag into different positions whatever the way you want your blog to look like. This will test your creativity without spending your money for the design. Take a look of example I had made for my own blog. Click the image to enlarge.

Now, you can make your own design other than what had shown above.

Fonts and Colors - This column helps you to choose the color and background of your blog. Just click on each items to change or modify the looks of your blog. When you prompt on this page you will notice the view of your blog page at the bottom. Such changes will automatically reflect immediately when you made changes on each color background, text font, text color etc. Just don't forget to save changes you made in order to take effect.

Edit HTML - This column is somewhat technical. But if you are knowledgeable of HTML, you can modify your template by applying those HTML codes. I will not tackle that topic here because in the first place, this is make money online blogging steps that we are talking about. Besides, I don't have a knowledge on that too.

I have one co- blogger here in the Philippines who also make money online by blogging. He's expert in web design that' s why his blog page is not as ugly as this blog. You can add your own preference on how you will present your site to the public and make money on it. Take a look at the snapshot .Click the image to enlarge.

That blog above was number 1 blogger in the Philippines. He achieved and earned a lot of dollars for adsense. He has a good strategy when it comes to SEO tricks. Again, for the meantime, I will leave that topic for another post. You have to believe of what you are doing now. This is not just a one day steps to make you successful in making money online. It will take time and efforts. Let's proceed with the last one:

Pick Template - This is the template selection. You may choose what templates you really like. Learn how to tweak the looks of your template by adjusting your fonts and colors for background and text. As a beginner, you don't need stunning graphics for the meantime. Let's just concentrate on the basic first on how we can get a traffic and be rank high on Google page. You may want to expend dollars for your graphics? Later, when you earned a lot of money using this ugly blog.

I think that's over in customizing your blogs. Now, lets try to find out some other factors to considered and understand in order to move on my next post.

Understanding Some Useful Terms

Indexing - This only refers to search engine. How will you know when you're blog topic had been indexed? Just simply query the address or URL of your site in search engine ( i.e http://makemoneyonline-donny.blogspot.com). If it happened that your blog exists, this means you have been indexed. If it tells you " no similar document on your search" that means you aren't indexed.

Most common search engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Let's take a look on Google. Google was one of the familiar search engine. It has come up with the algorithm which is the brain of the Google which determines the relevancy based on several factors. There are some factors that we don't know and some we know and they are:

Age of the Website - If the website is older, the more it will be get indexed. Because older sites will get higher preference than the new one. This is to avoid spamming.

Page Content - producing a good quality content on your topic and a unique content and materials will get you indexed faster than the one which was copy and paste from the internet. Copy and paste of the content will get you into trouble of copy writing.

Keywords - As I had mentioned on my First Step on Making Money Online, keywords must be used in the entire article. The rule here is to use your keywords 6 to 7 times per one hundred words or keyword density of 6% to 7% of the entire article. Don't use your keyword too much for you maybe get in trouble that Google might identify your blog as spam. This will lock your account and will get you deleted from index.

Volume Content - Search engines like more pages on website. As you continuously adding pages and content on your blogs will also continously crawl on your blog and get you listed in page rank.

Page Rank - This is what I would like to emphasize to you. Not all web pages that had been index have page rank. One reason here is that Google was not yet ranked your web pages or has been indexed but recognized as supplemental pages. You can read more on supplemental pages.

Backlinks- This is a link pointing to your site which is also called hypertext. This is one of the difficulty for the blogger. To get more backlinks in order to determine the relevancy of your webpages over the others. The more backlinks coming from the high page ranked website you got, the higher the page rank you will got or the more important your pages. There are 2 types of backlinks: the two way and one way backlinks.

Those useful terms mentioned above will also get tackled as we go on our blog topics for better understanding.

Now you may proceed to write your next article following this second step way to make money online.

Don't forget also when writing the content of your blog, you must follow this rule:

Try to write for about 400 words.
Use your keyword in the blog title, first and final sentence.
Use your keyword in the article at least 24 times ( for whole article).
Try to use bold letter on your keyword at least once in your article.
Put link field.

PART 1: Setting Up Your Blog

This is my first step on how to make money online. By establishing my own blogs here at blogger.com. I chose this topic because I believe I could make the most of it. As a beginner, I would also want to share my ideas, while on my way on my path to make money online on blogging. I did my first step, as I had mentioned before, I will illustrate to you on how to established your blog here at blogger.com. Then, we will discuss on my succeeding blogs on how we are going to start to monetize it.

There are so many ways on how you can make money online. All of them have differences and will take a sort of readings for you to understand everything before you decide a certain strategy. If you will asked me, is this my strategy too? We'll you could only check by yourself and answer your own question if this is the strategy that you are looking for. If not, you will be wasting your time to read this blog. You may want to switch to other sites and look for the same strategy like yours.

Why should you listen to an Old Student Professional like me?

I believe that student is the best source of information. Student have fresh minds and you can get more new details and updates from them... Sorry for those experts but I don't mean anything about it.

How can I create my own blog?

Well, I'll give you the step by step about it. If you are using Blogger.com, here's the steps:

First, you should create your account at Blogger.com. (http://blogger.com).

Click on CREATE A BLOG

After filling up the necessary information, you just click CONTINUE.

Then, will prompt you NAME YOUR BLOG.

Note: I would like to clarify here that making a blog title is not as easy as that. You should consider what topic that will make money and that's called a niche. But for the meantime, as a beginner let's start making a topic that will make sense.

Name your blog and your address. Be sure to use your keyword on NAME OF YOUR BLOG and your address. For instance, in my case:

NAME : Make Money Online With Donny
ADDRESS: http://makemoneyonline-donny.blogspot.com

Hint: If it happened that your address was taken, don't worry! Blogger will give you several options available for your address stating your keywords but sometimes not. Be sure that your keywords still there as you choose your address from options available listed by Blogger.com. This is very important when it comes to search engine. I will discussed it with you based on my experience in writing articles and according to some other experts.

Choose your own template. It seems that there are only limited templates available at Blogger.com. Unlike in Wordpress....Need a little knowledge on HTML to improve your template design later.

Before you compose your first post. Be sure you checked the settings of your blog. From the setting button, just click it and check the following:

Select BASIC:

Name the title of your blog.

Be sure you had described your blog in a few words using your keyword. For instance, my keyword is MAKE MONEY ONLINE. I'll use it in my description as " Make Money Online Blogging" Gets?

Set " YES" for Let Search Engines find your blog? If you will be asking about search engines, it will be tackled on my succeeding posts.That's a broad subject.

Leave other settings on default then hit Save Settings.

Select PUBLISHING:

Check if your blogspot address appears in the box address provided. It should appear the way I mentioned above.

Write the verification code, then hit save settings.

Select FORMATTING:

Set your settings to only 1 post on the main page.

Change your time zone and language settings.

Set your link field to "yes".

Set others on default, then hit save settings.

Select COMMENTS:

Set your comments to "yes".

Show your backlinks to "yes".

Set your show verification word for comments to "yes".( this is to avoid spam comments in your blog.

Set everything to default, then hit save settings.

Select ARCHIVING:

Set your Archive frequency to monthly. Then hit save settings.

For the meantime, let's leave first SITE FEED Column. It will be tackled on my succeeding post.

It's now time for you to make your first post...

Hit NEW POST. If you will notice, there's a title field and link field on your post editor. It is important that you use your keyword in your title post for search engine purposes. We set our link field to "yes" so that your post link will prompt you to your home page.

Make your first post simple. Make sure you used your keyword on your first post at least twice. Take this sample below:

Welcome to Make Money Online Blogging. This weblog will give you tips on how to make money online. If you have any clarifications or questions, please feel free to send your email at dns_analog@yahoo.com. Don't worry, I won't bite you...

Simple as that! Then hit post. Congratulations! You're now a blogger! View your post to show what it looks like. This is now your first step on how to make money online on blogging.

For the meantime, I will stop here to prepare on the next step. This will tackle on how to customize your blogs and how to put adsense on it. I will also discussed some other topics which are not tackled here on my second post.

Hello World! I'm here at blogger to discuss with you what I had learned in make money online blogging. This site was entitled "Make Money Online With Donny". This will be surely another exciting blogs for you.

This blog will cover the step by step ways on how to make money online by blogging. There are so many ways on how you can make money online but I had chosen this one because blogging is one of my strength and it is where I'm passionate. If this also your line of interest, you may join me on my steps until we finally monetize and earned dollars for each sacrifice we'll going to take. But before we proceed on the steps that I had mentioned above, let me tell you some important reminders before you join on how to make money online by blogging.

Before You Start A Blog

It is important that you ask yourself first if blogging is one of your line of interest. But how can I tell? Take a look at this criteria:

If you are engaged in blogging, it is important that you love surfing the internet because blogging is an online activities. Blogging is not just expressing your own opinions through writing or videos but you had to spend some time for research to feed the right informations that you want to deliver to your readers.

It is important that you are passionate about the topic. This is very important. If you are passionate on the topic that you like to share, you will satisfy the volume content of your blog. This is very important. I will elaborate it as you read my succeeding post.

You don't have any fear to express your thoughts and opinions to the public. If you are engaged in blogging, there are more visitors that will read your blog. It means that ,the more visitors you have, the more you will received good comments and sometimes negative comments from them. You have to be ready for that and take it positively. But in return, the more visitors in your blog, more chances to make money online. We cannot deny it in reality, that's number one goal why you go on blogging.

Spending your time to write your blog is important. One of the reason why I consider this because your visitors or the readers are looking for your blog update especially if you have more subscribers. This is one technique to drive more traffic to your blog. I will elaborate it as we go on with our topics.

It is important that you have patience. You cannot deny that there are some bloggers without patience while doing this activity. Blogging also requires effort and time to drive traffic to your blog. If you have patience, you will also get good results. I will share some strategies as we go along with my blogs.

It is also requires some effort to learn something new. If you will join in blogging, it is important that you have to take extra effort especially who are new in blogging software like blogger or wordpress. It is important that you are open with these factors.

This blog will be concentrating more on plain blog meaning through writing. It is important that you love to write your post every now and then. If writing is your strength then you're in!

Choosing Your Blogging Software

It is important to learn first what blogging software that you'll going to use before we Set-up a Blog. I will just make a simple discussion on this portion so that beginners will understand it better. I will share my experience in choosing my blogging software.

Here it goes....

Choosing A Wordpress.org and Wordpress.com Blogging Software - I have my first blog at Wordpress .org entitled Let's Blog With Donny. Yes, you're correct my another ugly blog that don't make money online. Why? This software doesn't allow google ads and some other sort that you can make money online.
