The world is saturated with twits, tweets, and tweeps. Everyone, from Oprah to NPR has decided that this is the most brilliant application ever devised by man. They constantly cite it, talk about it, and overhype it to the Nth degree.

The one thing they never explain about twitter is how it is intended to be used. They don't explain the reTweet, or spambot followers. They just tell random people to get online, and drop their thoughts, in 140 characters or less, of course.

It's not their fault, really, as twitter doesn't really have a defined purpose. The idea is that it is supposed to enable real-time communication, sort of a text message broadcast to the entire world. The actual purpose of tweets are left up to the users' imaginations.

It was too much for me to get my mind wrapped around when I started, that is for sure. With this in mind, I'd like to tell you a couple uses that will make twitter a valuable investment of your time.

This article will serve a very practical purpose, both for the novice user of twitter, and for those who have lost interest: It'll tell you how, what, and why to follow certain users, along with giving you the ability to find and organize that data in a meaningful manner.

With that in mind, let's begin. There are around 7 major types of twitter users. Your interests will determine which of these folks it would be in your best interest to follow:

1. Newsies: The New York Times, Tribune Media, Huffington Post, Drudge Report, and various other news agencies use twitter as a point of distribution for their articles. Updates commonly carry newly published content, or respond to readers of their content, which will naturally drive new readers to their site.

2. Gurus: These people, like Tony Robbin or Robert Kiyosaki(of Rich Dad, Poor Dad fame) use their accounts to push out mini-seminars. Their updates range from the inspirational to motivational, deliver news updates, and of course, push product in-between.

3. Gossip Gals: They don't miss a single controversy. It doesn't matter how small, these girls(and guys---think Perez Hilton) won't let it rest. While TMZ and the Smoking Gun throw out some really interesting stuff, I wouldn't put it in the category of "news".

4. Info-Marketers: Pushing everything from get-rich-schemes, to plugging their latest eBook, these folks peddle all things downloadable. They are always mentioning some resource that seems designed to help you make money, but will make them money instead.

5. Regular Marketers: Generally, tweeps of this ilk are pushing a physical product, or building up that brand. You'll see everyone from tire companies to toilet paper purveyors interacting with their customers and fans. To spice things up, fun facts and interesting news are served with soft-sell promotional tactics.

6. Power Tweeters: This is an odd group. They generally tweet about anything and everything. Most of the time, they are female in gender, and are a mixture of Gossip Gals and Newsie fare, with a spatter of hometown chatter. They never sell anything. Many times, they will live-tweet their thoughts on concerts, television shows, and fashion.

7. Everyone Else: This encompasses roughly 97% of the twitterverse. They followed a few people, didn't learn how to link, reTweet, or even reply inside of twitter. Eventually, they get tired of the whole thing, and move back to playing "Mafia Wars" on facebook.

While there are sub-groups within every group, these are where the lines are generally drawn. The most important takeaway from this breakdown is the following: Most people on twitter are trying to sell you something. Now that you know who's online, how can you get the most out of twitter?

Glad you asked. The first thing to get is a twitter client. For the purpose of this article, we're going with TweetDeck, a leader in the twitter client arena. It's easy to use. Download it, open it up, enter your username and password...and magically, you have a bird's eye view of everything happening in twitter(or at least who you are following, and their activity).

You'll see your live twitter feed on the far left, in-between you'll find any replies that have been made to your messages(if you've just opened an account, there won't be any messages here), and on the far right, your direct messages(private messages between you and another user that are not broadcast to other users).

The first thing you should do is find twitterers who meet your basic informational needs. For that, I actually prefer to use google, as it generally does a better job of finding who, or what you are looking for than twitter's native search service. Google your local station's call sign and add twitter to the end.(e.g. WKPY twitter). Let's say we were searching for a our local station in New Mexico. We'd follow @KOBTV. That will be useful for weather alerts, local news, and community events.

Next, get a national news feed you trust. CNN, MSNBC, and Fox all have twitter feeds kicking out news at the speed of type. You can now see what is making waves at the national level, along with any upcoming special reports.

Now comes the fun part...your interests. Love tech...grab @TechCrunch. Need your daily fix of stats and scores: Follow @ESPN. Pick 2-3 twittering entities that don't overlap. For instance, unless you just love too much information, don't follow ABC, NBC, and CBS news.

From there, it's time to find interesting people to follow. See if your favorite celebrities, nobel laureates, or trashmen are online. Check out their profile online, either by searching google with their name, followed by twitter, or by going to their website, and finding out what it is. This is probably the greatest chance at interaction with the rich and infamous that you will get. Rainn Wilson(Dwight Schrute of "The Office") is one celebrity with particularly interest thoughts, links, and conversation.

You have a base of good, solid tweets that you are now following. Here comes the fun part. There are people around the world having conversations about the latest news, movies, restaurants, whatever. Now, you just have to find them. Pull up the search feature in TweetDeck. There are two ways to search: hashtag, or plain text. Hashtags denote a post in a certain category. For instance, if you were looking for all the updates that include the President, but don't actually mention him in the body, this is the easiest way to search. If you are just looking for all mentions of Barack Obama, you would enter his name in plain text.

Searching in TweetDeck will open a column that automatically updates each time the search term is mentioned. For instance, you could keep a column opened for any topics you are interested in, and monitor them in real-time. I like to keep an eye on precious metals, mining, and tire news(boring, I know). When I am monitoring twitter, I keep a #gold, #silver, #mining, and #tires tab open, so that I can keep abreast of what is happening. It's like a stock ticker. Glance, see something you like, and read any article links that come through. If I see someone who is tweeting regularly about a topic I am interested in, I follow them, so I can see any of their general tweets as well. Rinse and repeat for each topic you have an interest in, and the list of people you follow will be over 100 in no time.

Now, for the bad part: Taking out the trash. Twitter is full of people who will spam you, by doing the most flattering thing of all: following your account. Since twitter sends you an email notification that someone is a follower, your curiosity makes you want to check them out. Many times, they will masquerade as a female in a bathing suit(or less). Their names will often be followed by a dash with a 4-digit number. You should immediately go to your follower page, and hit "report as spam". This helps twitter eliminate them from the roster, and keeps any of your followers from checking their garbage out.

On a lesser note, I try to clean out people I follow from time-to-time. Some of them have reverted to inane chatter, instead of providing important news. Even worse, they are tweeting more often, and saying even less. If you are spending time in twitter, make sure that dump a few people to keep things uncluttered.

Some of you might be wondering how to get legitimate followers. It's simple advice: Be you. If you are chatty, be chatty. Talk about your interests. ReTweet things from others that you find interesting. Be consistent. Spend time on twitter. The more you are engaged with others, the more likely it is that people will like, and follow what you have to say.

Now, let's recap how to get the most out of twitter:

1. Know the major categories of Twitterers. Filter them out based upon your interests.

2. Get a twitter client, like TweetDeck, to help you manage the vast streams of information coming through.

3. Make sure you are following a local news station, national news station, and sources that cover any informational gaps that you might have.

4. Follow celebrities that are active and intelligent.

5. Use search and hashtags to sort out topics and people to follow that are of interest to you.

6. Take out the trash regularly to make sure your feed isn't overloaded with garbage. Block or report bots as spam.

7. Gain more followers by contributing to the conversation, and being yourself.

That's all for now. There are far more advanced methods of tweeting, following, and being heard. Most of those methods are custom rules, developed by each user. You wouldn't think publishing a message would need rules. After all, how complex should sending out 140 characters be?

Evidently, as complex as we can possibly make something that has no definable purpose.

Adding Second Sidebar to Beta-Blogger

Most of the beta blogs are of two columns- i.e. one main column and a sidebar. If you have ample numbers of articles you may feel trouble for space. You may seek for second sidebar or 3 columns template so that you can balance the items in the two columns. Beta blogger is more advance with some extra features. You can easily drag the items and place it as per your choice. Here I am going to show you how you can change your two columns active blog to 3-columns blog i.e. one main column with two sidebars.

Step 1: On your dash board click on layout. Then click on template. Open HTML.

Step 2: In the Beta blogger template there are 3 CSS wrapper. a. The #outer-wrapper(entire blog), b. the main-wrapper (main column) and the c. sidebar-wrapper(sidebar). You have to include a #newsidebar wrapper. Each wrapper is of different width. Keep in mind that the width of outer wrapper should greater than total width of main column and sidebar(s). Suppose the width of outer wrapper is 800px then total width of columns must be less than 800px. You may fix the width of sidebars 150px each and main –wrapper 450px that means less than the width of outer wrapper 800px{800px>450px+150px+150px)}. The width may be in percentage also. You have to adjust it similarly.

Step 3: Now set the float property. If your existing sidebar-wrapper is float:right, you have to set the newsidebar-wrapper as float:left and vic-versa for setting the sidebars in two sides. Just copy the existing sidebar and paste it under the existing sidebar and change the float property i.e. left should be changed to right and vice-versa. Adjust the width according to the guidelines stated above.

XML Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to tell search engines about pages on their site that may be crawled by their robots.

A typical XML Sitemap file lists each URL, together with information about when it was last updated, how often it normally changes, and how important it is, relative to other pages in the site). This helps search engines to more intelligently crawl your site.

In November 2006, Google, Yahoo! and MSN joined forces to support a new industry standard for sitemaps: Sitemaps 0.90. As long as webmasters follow the protocol, they can ensure their sites are fully and consistently indexed across all the major search engines (a real step forward). This article is important for all those with missing or poorly ranked pages.

The official site for the joint venture is at sitemaps.org and contains a lot of info about the new standard and it's syntax. What the site singularly fails to do is explain correctly how to submit your sitemap to the big three! The format suggested on the site of:

search-engine-url/ping?sitemap=your sitemap_url

does not currently work at any of the three sites! Until it does, this short article provides instructions for how to (a) create your sitemap and (b) how to submit to each of the three main search engines...

Creating your Sitemap

Some hosting providers (for example 1and1) provide utilities via their web control panel, to create your sitemap, so you should always check with your provider first. If this service is not available, then make a visit to xml-sitemaps.com and enter your site URL into the generator box. Copy-and-paste the resulting sitemap into notepad, then save-and-upload to your site with the file name: sitemap.xml

If you want to validate the XML prior to uploading to the search engines (useful if you have made any manual amendments), look at the XML validator (at the same site) where you can put in the URL of your sitemap and check it against the standard.

Submit sitemap to MSN

MSN have yet to implement a formal interface for Sitemap submission (as at July 2007). To monitor the situation, please visit (from time to time) the MSN Official Livesearch Blog (where where future announcements are likely to be found).

Whilst MSN have yet to implement a front door, there is a recognised back door for submitting your sitemap to the MSN Search index; namely moreover.com! You should use the following syntax directly in your browser URL box:

Since February 2005, moreover.com have been the official provider of RSS feeds to the myMSN portal (see press release) and reliable evidence suggests that submission to Moreover will result in MSN spidering your pages within 2-3 weeks.

Note that, whilst MSN still do not support direct submission, they do suggest on their blog that you add a reference to your Sitemap into your robots.txt file (something now supported by sitemaps.org). For example:

Submit sitemap to Google

Google originally developed the XML schema for sitemaps and have developed a dedicated portal for webmasters, from where you can submit your sitemap:

First, you need to tell Google all the sites you own, then verfiy that you indeed own them. The verifiaction is achieved by adding a metatag between the head tags on your site homepage. The syntax for the tag is as follows:

Submit sitemap to Yahoo

Yahoo follows a similar approach to Google. Again, there is a dedicated sevice for webmasters (Yahoo! Site Explorer) and a procedure for verifying your ownsership of the site. First go to:

Add a site, then click on the verification button. You can then download a verfication key html file - which you will need to upload to the root directory of your webserver. Then you can return to Site Explorer and tell Yahoo to start authentication. This will take up to 24 hours. At the same time you can also add your sitemap by clicking on the manage button and then adding the sitemap as a feed.

Submit sitemap to Ask

Ask follows a simpler approach to the other three. To submit you sitemap, you simply enter a ping URL, followed by the full URL of where your sitemap is located:

change frequency - tells Google how often you modify that

priority - sets the priority you want Google to place for
that page on your site. You can prioritize your pages: 0.0
being the least, 1.0 being the highest, 0.5 is in the
middle.

This is only relative to your site. It will not affect your
rankings. Certain pages on your site may have more
significance than others because they are updated more
often ie home page, articles page.

How to Create a Dynamic Google SiteMap XML File

It would take a long time to create your Google Sitemap by
hand especially if you have a site that contains 1000s of
pages.

Fortunately Google provides the Sitemap Generator that
allows you to generate a sitemap very quickly. It's a
Python script that creates a Sitemap for your site using
the Sitemap Protocol. This script can create Sitemaps
from URL lists, web server directories, or from access
logs.

How I Generate Traffic To My Blog

There are many ways to generate traffic to your blog and I have mentioned plenty of them on my blog already, but what I plan on doing today is giving you a list of the methods I found work best. I have tried many different ways and some of them give short term results while others have given long term results. I think it is good to have a little bit of both so you get the maximum amount of traffic to your blog. So below I will split my traffic generation into two categories: short term and long term traffic generation results.
Short Term Traffic Generation:
Yahoo Answers - If you are interested in driving traffic quickly and easily this is a good one for you to try. What you do is you post answers or questions with links back to your website and write them in a way that interests readers to come visit your website. You will get hits right away but they usually don’t visit again after the question is gone.
Facebook - I would say that the links you put in your profile are short term. The reason that is is because all your friends will check out the new link to your blog / website when you first post it up because of the news feeds but then after that it will die down and you usually won’t get anymore new traffic.
Forums - Posting on forums can be a good way to get short term traffic to your blog. As long as you are posting useful information on the forums and have a good signature with links to your website you will usually get some decent traffic back to your blog. Usually a lot more traffic then some of ideas mentioned above but then again it is still only be short term traffic. However one of the other benefits of this type of traffic is the linkbacks to your website which can help raise your PageRank.
Blog Comments - This is pretty similar to forum posts. Basically you can get a bit of traffic to your blog / website but you are better off doing this to increase your linkbacks which in turn will hopefully increase your PageRank.
Link Exchange sites - Link exchange sites such as linkreferral will generate traffic to your blog as long as you are using them but once you stop so will the traffic. Most of the traffic generated with this method however is not very good traffic because people are just interested in getting more traffic to their own website. Since everyone has the same idea in mind no one really sticks around a website to see what it is about.
Twitter - As far as I can see so far this is a short term way of generating traffic to your blog. May be after getting a very large follower base you can get long term traffic from this but in the mean time you get hits every once and awhile from this.
EntreCard - This is like linkrefferal in that it is basically a link exchange type program. You can advertise on other peoples blogs and they can advertise on your blog. It does generate traffic but majority of it is just traffic where people are interested in getting points so they can make more traffic. It is worth a shot to try but it might not be the best solution in the long run.
Social Networking - This is a awesome way to get a ton of traffic to your blog. If you can get to the front page of some networking websites you can see up to 50K unique visitors in a day! This traffic is awesome but it will not last forever and its not easy to get to the front page. I definitely recommend doing this step but don’t expect to see traffic for months and months after you post something on the website.
PPC Advertising - This is not something I have tried on this website but is something I have done with my full time job. PPC stands for Pay Per Click advertising and what that is is when you pay for each click you get on your advertising to go to your website. An example of this is Google Adwords where you see advertisements on the right of the search results. If you click on them the advertiser has to pay for each click on their advertisement. This is a very good way to get traffic fast to your website but it will cost you and you will only get it when you pay for it.
Long Term Traffic Generation (The Good Stuff!):
Search Engine traffic - This is really good traffic. If you can do a bunch of SEO on your blog/website and get a bunch of your pages ranked highly in search engines for key terms then you will get a lot of traffic to your website without a lot of work. This will always be constant traffic as long as you do not get banned from search engines. So just be careful not to employ black hat SEO techniques and you should be fine.
Article Directories - This is another way to get long term traffic to your blog. Once you have submitted enough quality articles to article directories you will constantly get traffic from them to your blog and it is good traffic because people are interested in what you have to say. So if possible try to always add more articles to article directories.
Link Exchanges - As long as the sites you are exchanging links with do not go under you can usually always get traffic from the links you have exchanged with other websites. There are rumors that Google doesn’t like this type of traffic generation but I think if you do a little bit of it it cannot hurt your website rank and will bring in some more traffic.
Link Baited Websites - There might be another term for this but this is what I want to call it. Basically what this is is websites that have linked to your website because they found it interesting and wanted to link to it. If you can write blog entries that are very interesting to users they will most likely link to it and refer to it in their website. This is great traffic because it is free and you don’t really need to work for it.
Banner Exchange - This is similar to link exchanges in that you exchange a banner with another website and there is a link on the banner. It is good for long term traffic as long as both websites stay up and active you can always send traffic to each others websites.
So that is it
For now this is the list of things I have tried so far to generate traffic to my blog. As mentioned in a lot of the paragraphs some of the traffic generated to the website is a lot better then other traffic but all of them are worth a shot. I would try some of them yourself and see what works best for you. And remember as long as you write quality content, lots of content, and do some SEO on your website you should get decent traffic from search engines.

Generate Traffic With EntreCard

Generating traffic to your blog can be a difficult task but with the help of EntreCard it is a little less difficult. The way EntreCard works it a little bit tricky at first so let me explain how it works. It is basically a traffic exchange type system where you advertise with your widget on your blog other peoples blog ads.
EntreCard Virtual Currency
Before I go into any detail on how EntreCard works you first need to understand how the virtual currency called EntreCard Credits, or “EC” for shortworks. You earn these EC in a variety of ways that do not cost you any money. With the EC that you earn, you can purchase advertisements on thousands of blogs, or shop for hundreds of products and services in EntreCard’s virtual marketplace.
How To Get Started
You can get started with the system by going to EntreCard.com. When you are signing up you are prompted to create a 125×125px ad or create a text ad for your blog. Note: Keep in mind that you can only apply for this system if you have a blog. So once you have signed up you will be advised to put a widget on your blog (this is a requirement to participate with this program). This is simply done by choosing one of the variations of the widget sizes and putting the html code on your blog (usually on the sidebar).
Earning Entrecard Credits
Now to earn EC you can click on the Campaign button at the top of the page in the EntreCard control panel. Browse through the cards you like and click on the ones that catch your eye. Then to view their blog you click on the link to their blog and view the blog. Once you have spent some time at the blog and commented or whatever you wanted to do you can find the EntreCard box and click the Drop button to drop your card. This card will go into that users inbox and they will know you visited their blog. You can do this process a few times to earn more EC. You can also earn EC when you first signup depending on the number of blog posts you have.
Purchasing Advertisement
Once you have earned enough EC you can click on Campaign at the top and click on the Browser option at the top of the page. Find the blog you want to advertise with and click the Advertise button. What this will do is send that user a request that you want to advertise with your 125×125 ad on their blog. If they approve then for one whole day your ad will show on their blog and when people click on it you will get traffic to your blog.
Summary
So this whole EntreCard system can be summarized as:
Sign up for EntreCard & add the widget to your blog
Earn some EC by dropping cards and blog posts
Purchase some ads
When you earn more credits you can purchase ads on more expensive blogs
You get credits from dropping cards, others people dropping cards on your blog, when others buy your ad space, or if you sell products or services in EntreCard’s virtual marketplace

20 Ways To Make Use Of Twitter For Business

For those of you who have not hear of Twitter before here is a short explanation of what it is. Twitter is a privately funded startup company that was started as a side project in March 2006 in the neighborhood of San Francisco, CA. Twitter is a real-time short messaging service that works on multiple networks and devices. It is used to update people on friends day-to-day activities, world news, and even for businesses. So now that you know what it is you may be thinking to yourself how is it really useful for business? Below are a few ways I have found it to be helpful for my blog.
1. Create an account. Use the search feature of Twitter to see what your competitors are doing and read and learn from them.
2. Add a picture of your company/logo or yourself. People like to see who you are and that way they can relate to you a bit more easily.
3. Talk to other people on Twitter. Even if it doesn’t help your business it shows you are human and are interested.
4. Point out interesting topics on your space and don’t just put things about yourself.
5. Share links to interesting places / websites / blogs.
6. Be careful about always promoting your own stuff. Your fans will like it but not everyone else will.
7. Talk about things that are not business related as well.
8. Try to answer questions like “What has your attention?” instead of “What are you doing?”
9. When promoting a blog post, ask a question or explain what’s coming next, instead of just dumping a link. (this point is in bold because its very important for marketing your blog on Twitter)
10. Ask questions. Twitter is great for getting opinions.
11. Tweet about other people’s stuff. This doesn’t directly help your business but show you care about others.
12. When you DO talk about your stuff make sure it is useful.
13. Don’t toot your own horn too much. (I know sometimes I do this but try to stay away from it some of the time if you can)
14. You don’t have to read every tweet.
15. Commenting on others’ tweets, and retweeting what others have posted is a great way to build community.
16. Twitter helps with business development, if your prospects are online (like my blog readers)
17. Remember that Twitter doesnt’ replace direct email marketing.
18. Twitter works well as an opinion poll.
19. Have favorites. When you are new to Twitter you may not have noticed but there are little star icon next to each tweet. Watch what new followers favor and build off of that.
20. Avoid spammer stats. Its not good to see that you have 3 followers and follow 150 people. If you do this it shows that you haven’t revealed anything about yourself and in turn makes it so that people are unlikely to follow you in return.

Make Lots Of Money With Niche Mini-Sites

Many of you may be wondering with a niche mini-site is. A niche mini-site is a website that focuses on a very particular topic and it has only a handful of articles on it. The point of a niche mini-site is to make it quickly and focus on a specific keyword / topic that is very profitable with publishers. When trying to make money this way there are a few steps you need to consider before you start building your website.
Keyword Research
Before starting your niche mini-site you need to do a bit of research on the niche you are going to focus on. There are many niches out there but it might not be the right choice for you if there is too much competition and the niche doesn’t pay very well. The whole point is to make the website very quickly and then market it and then repeat the process with another website. One great tool for keyword research is SEO Tools. What this allows you to do is search for a keyword you are interested in and see how much traffic it receives. If it doesn’t have enough WordTrackers that have traffic over a 100 daily searches it might not be worth your while.
Once you have found your keyword and it has plenty of searches a day you need to check if it pays well. You can do this by going to Spyfu. You take your keyword and you put it in the search at the top and check what the Cost/Click amount is. If this amount is at least a minimum of a $1 a click then it is most likely worth your time.
Buy A Domain Name and Hosting
It is important that once you’ve picked your niche that you get a proper domain name and hosting for your website. There is nothing worse then seeing a website on one of those free hosting company websites where they advertise all their own stuff on the website. What you need is a catchy domain name that people can remember and that is easy to spell. A good place to get domain names is either NameCheap or GoDaddy. Once you have got that you need to get some hosting for your website as well. A good place I use is HostGator. They have cheap hosting that is reliable.
Creating A Website Design/Template
This part can be a little tricky if you are not familiar with web designing or programming. If you are then this should be a breeze and you should be able to setup a template that you can use multiple times with different colors for most of your niche mini-sites. If you are unfamiliar on how to do this I recommend possibly purchasing a template or maybe using a blog program like Wordpress.
Creating Content
Next step after having your website all setup is creating quality content for your mini-site. Do some research on your niche and spend the time to make quality articles. If your articles have no real value to the readers they won’t be very inclined to stay at the website for a long period of time or ever revisit the website. So for this step take your time and do it right. Spell check your articles and get a decent number of articles on your mini-site (7-15 articles should work).
Putting Ads On Your Site
Once you have created content on your website the next thing you will need to do is add some ads to your mini-site. This is your source of revenue and most likely the reason why you are making this mini-site in the first place. There are many different ways to advertise but probably the easiest one to start with is Google Adsense. It is very easy to signup and it only takes a short period of time to be accepted. All you need to remember is that you follow their policies and guidelines so that they do not shut down your account.
Advertising Your Niche Mini-Site
This step is very important. If no one knows about your site they will not visit it. You cannot expect to put a website on the Internet and have it automatically become a smash hit. It takes months of SEO and online marketing to generate traffic for your mini-site. Unfortunately with a mini-site you don’t spend that much time working on the site so what you need to do is market your website for a few weeks and just let the site sit and see how the traffic slowly builds with the website. The older the website the more likely it will get traffic because of various factors such as: links to the site, site age, indexed in search engines, etc. When advertising your mini-site there are numerous ways you can do this such as: article submissions, social networking/bookmarking, posting on blogs/forums, link exchanges, etc.
Final Step
Just wait a few months and hopefully if everything is done correctly money will start coming in. Don’t expect to see money right off the bat because you need traffic before you can generate income. In the meanwhile you can work on creating other mini-sites and do the same process on those sites as well. If you can create a whole group of these mini-site eventually you will get better at the process and start to see the returns you are looking for.
So try it out for yourself. Do the research and create yourself a niche mini-site and see how it goes. Remember to not give up and keep at it and eventually you will become very successful making money online!

Google AdSense Account Terminated | What Should You Do???

Once you have decided to take your marketing campaign to Google’s AdSense pay per click program, you agree to a number of rules including:

• No hidden pages. You must have a clear hierarchy and each page needs at least one link to get there.

• No broken links. If you link outside of your site, make sure you check your links often. No more than 100 links per page.

• When designing your site, create one that is helpful to a user; don’t design a page for search engines. Make sure you clearly define what your site is about.

• Your TITLE and ALT tags should be precise and descriptive.

• You need a site map to help users find what they are looking for if your menu doesn’t.

• No hidden text.

• No redirection of your site

Even if you follow all these design rules, you may still be at risk of losing your AdSense advertiser account or have temporarily been fined a penalty in the form of your ads being removed from rotation on other sites. The penalty may go away with time, but it’s best to double and triple check your site then file a re-inclusion request (instructions below.) Include in your request which changes you’ve made and that it won’t happen again.

Your competitors might have a plan that could get you banned. It’s called “click bombing” and it’s against Google’s policy.

Click bombing happens when someone, be it a competitor or not, repeatedly clicks the pay per click ad for a business in order to raise flags with Google. Google rates their ads based on relevance, so the more an ad is clicked, the more relevant it becomes, and the higher up the list it moves. This has made it very easy for business owners to move themselves up the relevance list, so Google countered this practice by red flagging any business that has a significant spike in AdSense hits. If the hits all trace back to the same IP address or addresses, the advertiser is removed for “invalid clicks”.

Finding out about this strength in Google’s search engine, sneaky competitors have started to exploit it by purposely clicking the competitions ad again and again, in order to ban the ad.

If this has happened to you, or if you’ve been banned for violation of any of the design or technological terms of your contract, you can sometimes have it overturned by contacting customer support. You can contact Google support by visiting http://www.google.com/support/bin/request.py. Make sure you type “Re-inclusion Request” in the subject of the email. Keep your request simple, short and to the point. No need to threaten Google that you’ll stop advertising with them or list how long you’ve been a customer.

It is imperative, though, that you run reports frequently and store the data outside of your Google account. This will help prove to Google that a click bombing happened should you be removed. You are not guaranteed a reversal, however. In fact, most pleas to Google to have a banned account go unheard.

If you don’t get a positive response from Google, you may want to check out some of the other pay per click programs, like Yahoo! Publisher Network or the many affiliate programs online.

Banned From AdSense

Google AdSense dominate the Internet Marketing Advertising industry by displaying contextual ads to targeted audience on websites large and small.

If you've been an AdSense publisher for a while, you've surely encountered people who complain about being kicked out of the AdSense program for no good reason. While I'm sure there are cases where the publisher was unfairly terminated, I suspect most account terminations are in fact done for valid reasons.

Google AdSense is a great product that has provided many webmasters with a decent income. In fact some have even become millionaires on AdSense income alone. One of the darkest nightmare for webmasters who use Google AdSense to generate 100% of their website income, is to receive a notice that their Google AdSense has been banned or disabled

Generally, the notice starts out like this:

"It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on the ads on your web pages. We have therefore disabled your Google AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers."

If you account in AdSense has been banned, have you succeeded of getting it back? Or have you ever heard of anyone who gets his or her account back after being banned. And would their money is still there if they've gotten their account back?

It is understandable that Google are very strict when it comes to fraud. People who click on their own online ads aren't stealing from Google, they're stealing from the advertiser who has placed the AdWords Ads with Google. Not only does the account become disabled, but also existing click-through earnings are refunded back to the advertisers.

Now what ? Forget about it. It is highly unlikely that Google will unlock your AdSense account again, unless you have a fantastic reason (this is a rarity).

Don't waste your time. Remember it is the Internet age and everything is automated and Google's answers to any sincere and arguing emails would be useless. Mainly because, they are completely robotized.

So it's your job as an AdSense publisher to report any suspicious matter to them. In other words, it means,

If you notice suspicious clicks, report it.
If you accidentally click your own ads (it happens), report it.
If your site is suddenly featured on Slashdot, Digg, or some other high-traffic site, report it.
If you know something (press release, review, etc.) is going to send a lot of traffic your way, report it.
If you're in doubt about anything, report it.
Also, Google takes the guilty-until-proven-innocent approach in its dealings with publishers unless you show a pattern of co-operative behavior. Not waiting until Google notices something - hmm, those earnings are way above normal, I think I'll just let it slide.... greatly increases your chances of getting your account suspended.

Every once in a while I read this message in a forum forums..just got "banned from AdSense" ..now what ?? It makes me wonder what the person did to get banned. It was probably one of the following items. Here are the top five ways (in no particular order) to get "banned from AdSense".

1. Clicking Your Own Ads (Click Fraud)
No matter how you slice it, though, there are definitely people out there who click their own ads, or encourage others to do so, for their own monetary gain. If accidental clicks do happen and you shouldn't panic if you accidentally click an ad on one of your own sites. Just drop a quick note to Google telling them about it and take steps to prevent it from happening again.

2. Not Following the AdSense Terms and Conditions
Many people never fully read the AdSense terms and conditions, often referred to as the TOS (terms of service). Though the TOS is vague about some things (like defining what a content page is), it is very explicit about various things you can't do.

3. Not Following the AdSense Program Policies
The AdSense program policies are technically part of the AdSense terms and conditions, even though they're listed on a separate page. This is where you'll find the information about how many link or ad units you can use on a page, what kind of sites are acceptable, etc.

4. Opening Multiple AdSense Accounts
This has become much harder to do since Google has added algorithms to detect multiple accounts belonging to the same person or entity. Each person or entity can only have one account. If you have a legitimate need for two or more accounts, you must create a separate legal entity (like a corporation) for each additional account, and that entity must separately apply and be approved for a new account.

5. Ignoring Warnings and Questions From Google
Although certain events cause Google to automatically terminate your account, many terminations are preceded by a warning note from the AdSense team. This is your chance to defend yourself and to change your site/behavior in response. If you're not responsive, they'll just go ahead and ban you. (If you're going away for an extended period of time, you should check your mail every day or two and keep an eye on your AdSense earnings as well. Be sure to report any suspicious activity as soon as you see it.)

Now the question is, if suppose your "AdSense account is banned", are there any other alternatives ?

Obviously you would try to find a smart engine that works similar to Google AdSense but display products from Clickbank with your affiliate ID already embedded in the ads.

As a result, it can easily turn your website into a monster Clickbank affiliate money. Besides, affiliate marketing is booming and there are a couple of companies that puts your website right in front of the hungry crowd.

There is CBProsense, 1st promotions and there are many more.

Most of them works similar to the contextual ad delivery systems ( like the ones used by the major search engines ), but with one major difference, these deliver a highly targeted ClickBank products that closely relate to the content of your page. Ads that your visitors will want to click on. And each time they do, you will have the chance to earn high affiliate commissions - not a few cents, but real dollars.

In short, you can earn up to 75% in commission for each product sold! That is to say with most products paying anywhere from 40% to 75% in commissions, you can earn up to a maximum of $100 per sale!

So put CBprosense and 1st promotion as alternatives in your file for AdSense. As they say you really find out only when the need arises.

How to Avoid Having Your AdSense Accout Banned for Click Fraud!!!!

If you trawl through the AdSense message boards you can’t help but come across tales of woe from AdSense publishers that have had their account banned by Google.

Below is a list of ways people have been banned from AdSense and information on how to avoid it happening to you.

Don’t click on your own ads

The obvious one but still people do it. Google has the IP address of the computer/s that you’ve used to create and check your AdSense account. If it sees that this IP address clicks one of your ads you’re in trouble.

Don’t do it. It’s theft. Not from Google but from the AdWords advertisers.

If you want to go to a site advertised by one of your ads don’t click on it look at the URL of the advertising site at the bottom of the ad and type it into your browser.

If you click on one accidentally (which does happen) you’re probably be ok but it’s worth dropping a quick email to Google with an explanation and apology

Don’t log in to AdSense from a shared computer.

As I said above Google keeps a record of every machine IP address used to look at your account. If you check your stats on a machine then someone else clicks on your ads from the same machine Google sees this as click fraud. Worth bearing in mind when thinking of checking your stats from somewhere like an Internet Café.

Don’t log in to your AdSense account from work.

Apart from getting in trouble with the company that employs you there’s also a further real risk. Most companies use a proxy server to access the Internet. A proxy server with ONE IP ADDRESS. Therefore you checking your ads from work means this proxy IP address being recorded by Google as one that you use. Problem is if there are 1000 people in your company it is the same IP address for them too. Google can’t differentiate between you and the other 999 employees in your company. If one of these 999 clicks on one of your ads it’s ban time.

Don’t get into a ‘I’ll click your ads if you click mine’ agreement with another Webmaster.

As above Google will have your IP address and that of every AdSense publisher. If they see these IP addresses consistently clicking on each other ads it’s goodbye for both of you.

Don’t tell friends and family.

Telling friends and family about your money making websites can lead to problems. Even if you tell them not to click on your ads there’s always the chance that Auntie Maud will think it’s a good idea to make some extra money for her favourite nephew. 100 clicks later from the same visitor and your account is screaming ‘Click Fraud’.

Receiving clicks from illegal traffic

Check the AdSense TOS for sources of traffic that aren’t allowed by Google. These include methods like Traffic exchange, PTC advertising, Auto surf etc.

Do monitor your visitor and AdSense figures

Check your account at least once a day. If you see a massive spike coupled with a massive increase in Page CTR investigate using your visitor stats website. If you see it’s all come from the same IP address you could have been the victim of a malicious attack – inform Google via email and offer them access to your logs.

How to Protect Your Adsense Account???

As an Adsense publisher, you must always face the risk of being banned because of invalid clicks and other reaons. What can you do in order to keep your account safe? Apart from using tacker, sitemeters, adloggers and other online trackers, there are something that you can do by yourself. I will list put some rules below to remind all of you how to keep your Adsense account in good condition, and not be flagged by Google. Additionally, following these simple rules will help keep your account in good standing:

- Don't click on your own Google ads
Clicking on Google ads on your own site for any reason is strictly prohibited. If you'd like more information about one of the advertisers appearing on your site, please type the URL of the ad directly into your browser's address bar, or use the

- Don't ask others to click on Google ads.
Users should click on Google ads because they're interested in the services being advertised. Encouraging users to click on your Google ads, either directly or indirectly, can lead to inflated advertiser costs and can cause your account to be disabled.

- Don't employ pop-up prompts or automatic software installations.
Google is dedicated to improving the user experience on the Internet, and promoting responsible software principles is part of that effort. Sites showing Google ads may not prompt users to install software on their machines. Publishers must also not attempt to change users' browser home pages automatically or via pop-up prompts.

- Be aware of how your site is promoted.
Pages showing Google ads may never be loaded in an unrequested pop-up. This means publishers need to be very careful when purchasing traffic or setting up ad campaigns with third parties. Before contracting with any ad network, you should ensure that they will never display your site in pop-ups or as a result of the actions of any software application.

- Don't place Google ads on sites that contain prohibited content.
Google ads may not be displayed alongside any type of content prohibited by Google Adsnese's program policies, including adult or mature content, gambling-related content, or drug content. It's your responsibility to ensure that all of your pages adhere to these policies. One of my essay site was banned because my site does not fulfill their requirement of sites.

- Respect Google trademarks.
This is a tricky one. Many publishers do not know too much for this policy, and get banned by this. Framing or mimicking Google pages is strictly prohibited by our Guidelines for Use of Google Brand Features. In addition, publishers may not use any Google Brand Features such as Google trademarks, logos, web pages or screen shots, without prior consent from Google. Apart from that, no publishers can put adsense ads on a site with domain that include the words "google", or "adsense".

- Don't tamper with the AdSense code.
AdSense offers a wide variety of approved formats, colors, and features in your AdSense account. Once you've generated your code, however, we ask that you do not alter any portion of the code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason, unless specifically authorized to do so by Google.

- Provide a positive user experience.
Sites that contain excessive pop-ups, use sneaky redirects to obtain traffic, or otherwise attempt to interfere with normal web navigation aren't permitted in the AdSense network. Please make sure your site doesn't deceive your users in any way. Also, every AdSense publisher is required to adhere to the Webmaster Guidelines on quality to ensure that their site provides a positive user experience.

- Provide a good environment for advertisers.
Sites showing Google ads should not present a poor opportunity for advertisers. Sites that use tricks or deceptive practices in order to trigger inadvertent clicks on ads are prohibited.

- Be responsive.
Publishers are asked to be responsive to emails sent by the AdSense team. Be sure to keep your email address up-to-date, in case we ever need to contact you about your account. To update your email address, you may need to contact Google immediately.
