A Quick Report

My dad is getting some better from his surgery, but he is still very sore. I hope he continues to improve.

Now about my work. I have managed to catch up on some of my work, but nothing like I need to be doing. I took a few days and worked as hard as I could. To my surprise I was only a few dollars from meeting my $500 goal last week. I have demand studios to thank for this. It turned out that I was able to accept several east articles to write on that I already knew quite a bit of information on. As always, I did my paid posting and of course I still slacked with writing eHow articles. I love the summer time, but it does cause me to work less. I plan on trying to just get through and making until the fall. Maybe once the fall gets here I will raise my goal. Anyone else writing for Demand? How do you like their new layout? I seem to like it pretty well, and it makes it much easier knowing what you have in your queue.

Well, I'm off to work some more, wish I had more info to report. I plan on trying to look around for some more opportunities later in the week, so continue to read!

The End of June

Well, it lacks two days being the end of June. This has been an awful past two weeks for me and my family. My husband and I have both been sick, and my father will be having surgery in a few days. I did manage to get some work done, actually I was able to make approximately $500 between the two weeks. That's better than what I had expected with all the commotion that has been happening. Most of this was from paid post and writing for Demand, again. I keep trying to get myself into a better work method, especially for the upcoming month of July, but it's so hard with it being summer time. All I can do at this point is try to work harder.

June is Half Over

I was looking at my calendar this morning and it hit me that the month is half over. I have really been slacking with all of my work, but what can I say? It's summer time. It's so hard to work when it's so nice and pretty outside. I was able to make $267.00 last week between writing for Demand Studios, Pure Content and doing some paid blogging. I guess I shouldn't complain since I didn't put in a full weeks worth of work. Problem is, it is already Tuesday, and I am off to a slow start again.

Content Providers for Bloggers

I have been wondering about a particular website for quite some time now. I figure what better way to learn more about whether it is worth my time than to ask my readers. The name of it is Syndicate Kahuna. It is apparently a free site for blogger to get some filler post. I know many of you write post for pay and need fillers, so I am wondering if this is a good site for this. It would also be nice to get some fresh content to add to your blogs when your going to be gone on vacation. I read about this site on a forum, but no one really praised it or bashed it either. It was more like an announcement of it being available. I would love to hear some input from anyone who has given it a try.

Weekly Report

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, well yes I do. I am procrastinating when it comes to getting my work done. I only profited $219 this past week. I should be making more than this, but I have been slacking, or maybe I should say being LAZY! The majority of my work was from one private client. Then I did some posting on my blogs for other companies, such as PayU2Blog and Blogvertise. I didn't take any time for up-front pay article writing, so therefore, I am ashamed. Now it's Tuesday and I am thinking how I don't want this week to end the same way. I usually don't calculate my earnings until Sunday night, so I need to get back to the grind starting tomorrow or my profit is not going to look good for this week either.

Finally Reporting In

I have been out of town for a few days with my husband. He had a business trip, and I decided to tag along. Instead of sitting in the hotel room working, like I had planned to do, I went shopping. Yes, there is something wrong with that picture. I was suppose to be spending time making money instead of spending it. What can I say? Nothing beats going to a different city and checking out all their stores.

Anyway, on to more important issues. I guess you already know, I didn't do so well last week, but at least I can blame it on my absence from work and not because the work wasn't available. I only profited $231.93. Most of that was from paid blog posting and writing for Demand Studios.

I do have something to report that will shock you. I actually buckled down and wrote 5 new eHow articles. I was actually proud of myself since it had been so long. I also can report my earnings for May. It was $48.93. I'm not sure why my income went down this month on eHow. Did this happen to anyone else? Each month it has increased, until now. Last month I had made $66.84 and the month prior to that was $56.73. Makes me wonder what the problem is. If anyone else has a clue, I would love for you to share.

Now that it's already Wednesday night, I can already tell you I have been busy since I got back home. I have some work to do for a private client, plus I want to get out some more articles on Demand that I have already put claims on. I sure hope I have a better week to report after I finish.

Hope everyone had a great holiday in honor of all out nation's heroes!

I am having to admit last week was a slow week for me. I wouldn't say the work wasn't there, but rather I was lazy and had so many other things on my plate. I had to help my husband with some bookkeeping and it took up several days. However, I was able to profit $300, so I shouldn't be complaining. Another thing I did was apply to a couple more companies for freelance writing jobs, so we will see how that goes.

Keep in mind, I'm not adding my eHow earnings to each week's profit. I will add or report it all by itself once I have a total of the entire month. I started back November 29, 2008 writing for eHow. I continued to write until February 8, 2009 and have a total of 100 articles. Then I decided to take a break, which I know was a bad idea, but I wanted to focus on some up front paying sites. My profit from the 100 articles are as follows:

December 2008 - $15.00 (I barely met the payout)
January 2009 - $33.96
February 2009 - $48.92
March 2009 - $56.73
April 2009 - $66.84

Even though this is going to be a shorter week than normal, I am going to continue to try hard to reach my $500 goal. I started yesterday writing more articles for Demand Studios. My Income Report for Last Week

Ok, so I did just a little bit better last week. I made a profit of $400. I have to admit, I didn't work near as much as I could have. The reason for that is because I am trying to get another blog up and running. I want to be able to have some type of site for private clients to go too. As many of you know, it's a lot work making a website, or at least it is for me. One of my main problems is changing my mind a dozen times on the template.

Anyway, I was able to do some work for a Demand Studios again. I then worked mostly on some private client work. Then I did the old faithful, posting for pay. I know I am trying to get away from that and concentrate more on just my freelance writing. But I have continue with it until I making enough money to justify giving it up.

I know I'm not making my $500 a week, but I am getting closer. If I had enough hours in the day, then I might actually hit my goal. I find myself doing other things instead of writing. Like laundry!! My schedule is pretty flexible, so I am going to have to start sticking to my agenda I have planned out.

How is everyone else doing? Found any new sites to write for lately? I'm always looking for more opportunities.

The Week Starts Over

Well I worked so much last week that I didn't have time to post here. It was a very productive week though. I wrote some articles for a client. Actually, I wrote tons of articles for a client. So many that I didn't have much time for anything else. I did do a couple of paid post, but nothing to really to brag about. Anyway, my week ended with a $370.00 profit from the best I can calculate off hand. I'm not complaining, but I had hoped for $500. I am going to stick to my $500 goal for a few more weeks. If I can reach that for several weeks in a row then I might raise it, but first I have to make it there. I probably could have got a little closer to my goal if I would have wrote more demand studios articles, but like I mentioned, I had too much on my plate. In fact, some of my work had to be sourced out. That takes money out of my pocket, but at least I did meet all of my deadline to my clients. That is very important to me.

Getting Behind Already

It's Sunday afternoon and only the 3rd day of the month, and I'm behind already. I know, I know. Not a good way to start my month. I was planning on working all day yesterday, but our power went out mid-morning and didn't come back on until late afternoon. We had plans with some friends last night that I couldn't get out off, so needless to say, yesterday was pretty much shot as far as production. I did have some writing orders come in on Friday and Saturday morning and now I will be working all week to try and get those filled. I was hoping to write some more articles on eHow, Bukisa and Info Barrel, but now I am going to have to put those off until I finish up these orders. If I see that I am not going to make my deadline for these articles I may be posting for some help. It might actually come down to subcontracting some of my work out.

As for setting a goal for my first of May, I am hoping for at least a $500 profit weekly. I'm trying to not set it too high, I just hate disappointing myself..lol

My Report on the Last Day of the Month

Well it is finally the last day of April, and I am getting ready to start working even harder as of tomorrow. I made a commitment to give it my all for the month of May. I want to see how far I can go and how much work I can produce. I know with me just now signing up to some places, I won't make as much as I will in months to come, but it's a start. I completed the sign up process today with a couple of different companies to begin my full time writing adventure. One is Quality Gal and the other is Demand Studios. I plan on continuing my work on Bukisa, Info Barrel, and eHow, but I figure I had room to add some more. I might actually keep adding, but I wanted to start somewhere. Of course, I will continue to do paid posting as I discussed in my other post. At least until I am up on my feet with writing more articles. I'll keep you posted with my progress and how well I like working with these companies. Until then, I guess I will go sign up at some more sites.

What's New

Well I am finally settled back into my work mode and seem to be caught up on most of my overdue projects. However, I have made a decision to try and promote my freelance writing more and not do nearly as much paid posting. I hope this is the right decision, but of course I won't know unless I try it.

As for the paid posting, I do make a little extra money each month, but not nearly as much as I would like. Back months ago, I was making approximately $1000 a month just with blogging, but now it seems to be more around the $500 mark (on good months). I plan on continuing some of the paid posting sites for now, or at least until I start making more writing articles.

If you've been reading this blog, then most of you know I have only tried eHow, Bukisa and Info Barrel. Those are making a little bit of money, but nothing like I want or need. Of course, if I would have wrote on those sites religiously then I am sure they would have profited more. Instead I kept trying to do more posting on blogs for money. I noticed that tomorrow is the last day of April and I will be making approximately $65 on eHow. Can you imagine what would have happen if I would have kept writing articles on that site over the past two months?

So, my goals will be to start May off with writing, writing and more writing. I am planning to add more articles to each of those three places, but I want to also find other freelance writing jobs. I have applied to a couple already, and I am excited to hear back from them. Now that I only have one day left in this month, I plan on getting myself organized and starting an agenda of what I need to do each day. I will try my best to plan a week ahead of time so that I do not fall back in this situation again, and of course I will keep you posted of the progress I am making.

Apology is Due

I know I owe every one of my readers an apology for taking some time off, but it couldn't be helped. It seems everyone in my house has been under the weather and on top of that, my husband injured his knee. I had to concentrate on my work that I had to get done to keep from falling behind. Therefore, some things had to suffer, and this blog was one of them. I am almost back on track now and plan on posting as much as possible starting in another couple of weeks. I am working on some work-at-home leads to let you know about. So, I promise I will be back soon!

Make Money Blogging

I've been talking to you about writing and how you can make money at it, but I wanted to help more for in the blogging field. I first started out with only blogs and not writing articles. It is actually a good place to start. There is definitely some money to be made with having your own blog. Whether it be a niche blog or a general blog, you can make money. A New Adventure with Info Barrel

A week or so ago, I decided to try out a new site called Info Barrel. It is another one of my adventures in freelance writing. Info Barrel will pay writers 75% of the ad revenue generated by their articles. It seems like it is going to be a great opportunity! I really enjoy getting started at new places when I feel like there is some potential for income. Updates Concerning eHow

Well I guess you know I have been slacking on my new blog. Yes, I'm ashamed, but I promise I am really trying to get caught up. I would like to report my eHow earnings for the month of January. I more than doubled what I made last month. The payment was $31.55, so I am happy with that. I did reach my goal of 50 more articles this past month, which left me with a total of 100 articles. Yipee! Now, I know I had said I would try to produce at least 50 articles each month, but I have been swamped with all of my new adventures. I think I am going to take a couple of months off with ehow and just let my earnings grow while I catch up on some other work. I can honestly say, I should be trying to promote my articles more than I have been. Once I get an article finished, I do manage to submit the url to Google and blurb about it on Xomba, but that's about it. Occasionally, I will post about the article on some of my other blogs. I have got to start working harder on promoting, but it seems so time consuming. I did manage to focus on keywords more, so we will see if that helps. I also started adding more resources to my articles from places such as Amazon. Any extra money helps, right? That's another great thing about Xomba. It gives me the opportunity to earn a little bit through my adsense account. I'm not giving up by any means. I just have to refocus and get myself in a more disciplined mode. I do have another adventure I want to share with you in a few days, so stay tuned for other ways to make money from home...or on vacation!

Finding Out All Types of Information

As many of you know, my article writing days are getting a little better. My eHow earnings are growing daily and mainly because of some help I have been contributing to them. I have been reading all types of info from other peoples blogs, ebooks and forums.

One of the key factors I have found to writing is using keywords. I do this by using Google Adwords: Keyword Tool and Wordtacker's Free Keyword Tool. Yes, it takes time to research your keywords, but it has been paying off since I have started to implement this great feature. Apparently, the keywords is what gets the articles higher in the search engines. Everyone knows the higher you are on search results, the likely your article is to be read. This increases your chance for someone to click on your ads and earn you money. This is a good thing and should be something you take the time to do.

Now another great contribution to your articles would be telling everyone about ithem What better way than social networking. I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine. It has turned out to be a wonderful way to draw more traffic to my articles. It is called Xomba. The way I have been using this social network site, Xomba, has been by using the blurbs option. I write a small introduction to one of my eHow articles and enter the link, then submit. This draws more people to read my articles, but that's not all. I signed up for a Google Adsense account and entered my adsense info into my Xomba profile so I could get paid for the advertisements listed on my blurbs. So, I am benefiting two ways from my Xomba, isn't that great?

My eHow Challenge

Around the first of December, I decided to get my feet wet in this eHow challenge. At first, I have to admit, I thought there is no way I could write half as many articles as some have on there. I just knew there were not enough "how to" articles in my little brain, but I decided to take the plunge anyway.

What attracted me the most was, of course, the Residual Income. Nothing is better than doing some work and continuing to get paid for an article for years down the road. So I started on the adventure and ended up with approximately 50 articles by the end of the month. Apparently, I had more in my head that what I gave myself credit for. I was so proud of myself, not to mention the fact that I made $15 doing it. I know that's not much, but from here on out I will continue to get paid for those 50 articles. Eventually, I will be paid beyond the amount I could have made writing one article for a company that pays me per piece or word.

Now since the beginning of January, I have only added approximately 13 more articles. With the holidays and all I was slacking. But my profit is already at $12.63 for this month, and today is just the 11th. So I am almost at the same amount I was for the entire month of December, and it has taken me half the amount of time to get there. I firmly believe in goals, and I have set a goal of 50 more articles for this month. Yes, I know. I need to get to work or I won't make it. Anyway, if you are a blogger or write articles of any type, then you can definitely write eHow articles. Of course, since I have started I have learned several key factors in making my articles better. I will share some of these with you later on in other post. Mystery Shopping

For a while now I have been a mystery shopper. I can honestly say, I don't do it for the income but mainly for the free merchandise, meals and occasional free hotel night away from home. It can be a lot of fun as well as rewarding. Don't get me wrong, you actually have to work a little for the free stuff, but to me, it's well worth it. I don't live in a big major city, but do live approximately 30 minutes away. We usually go there to eat a nice meal out anyway, so why not benefit and get it free? The town nearby me normally has fast food shops, and I enjoy getting those as well. I tend to do more food shops than I do retail stores, especially since I have so much other work going on at home. As many of you have noticed, my blog is changing. I have found that I really enjoy discussing ways I enjoy making money from the comfort of my own home. Actually, it's not always from home, on occasion it is from my hotel room on vacation. But that's beside the point. I want to be able to help others in their journey of being your own boss. I have been working for myself for several year now. I can honestly say I have had my hands in many different directions. From data entry, editing to customer service. This blog will talk about all those adventures as well as the path I am on now. Sometimes I find myself with more than I can handle because I enjoy trying a little of everything. I like to find out what works best and how to make the most of something. Occassionally, I will post different work at home jobs that I run across which may be of interest to you, so keep checking back.
