Alan Gordon & Edson Buddle produced a brilliant display to help LA Galaxy win 2-1 at Toronto. Not to be left behind Chivas USA won 1-0 through a brilliant display by Eduardo Lillingston. It was the second time this season Chivas has defeated Seattle at The Home Depot Center.

Meanwhile NewYork Red Bulls are still suffering from a free fall with a 4-0 loss at New England. The Bulls still have to win an away game this season with an abysmal away record of 0-6-1. Taylor Twellman struck in 2 goals but not before Jay Heaps and Steve Ralston gave them a 2-0 lead at the 47th and 52 minute. With still another away draw at FC Dallas , San Jose ensured they give Red Bulls company being at the bottom of the league. Both San Jose and Red Bull have managed only 9 points this season.

In the Western Conference Chivas USA still maintain their Top berth with a lead of 6 points over Houston Dynamos

(Western Conference)

In the Eastern Conference Chicago extend their lead over D.C. United to 2 points. The June 13th June Tie between the two will decide that whether D.C. United are able to take the top spot or Chicago extend their lead at the top.

(Eastern Conference)

To check the schedule of the upcoming Mega Games in MLS click here

MLS League Standings - May 14 2009

Western Conference: Chivas USA is rocking the Major League this season. The problem point has been the defence letting in 13 Goals. "The depth is there," United defender and captain Bryan Namoff said. "But sometimes we are shooting ourselves in the foot."

The defending MLS Cup champion Columbus and perennial Eastern power New England both have been struggling this season lying low in the table.

Eastern Conference Standings (May 14, 2009)

MLS Weekend Fixtures

There is every reason to stay at home this weekend or if you are one of those who want to be the part of thrill at the stadiums then get your MLS soccer tickets ready. You are just heading for 6 action packed games. Here is a brief of the events that are going to take place.

Five games are scheduled for this Saturday i.e. 25th April. You can expect few interesting clashes in few hours time.

Chicago Fire at Columbus Crew
Both the teams are meeting for the very first time since last year. Columbus Crew has had the disastrous start to the season. They haven’t won a single game as yet. And now they are just about to face the Chicago Fire which is literally on fire this season. Nobody has managed to beat them till now.

New England Revolution at Real Salt Lake
Both the teams have been playing well. New England Revolution is undefeated this season and Real Salt Lake is high on the confidence too having won both their games at Rio Tinto Stadium. So, what will be your pick?

Los Angeles Galaxy at Colorado Rapids
Colorado Rapids have had the better of Los Angeles Galaxy this MLS Season. Los Angeles Galaxy lost the previous match to Conor Casey hat trick at Home Depot Center. Having not won even a single game as yet, Galaxy must be hoping for a turn around this time.

FC Dallas at Chivas USA
Chivas USA have been unbeaten in this season and FC Dallas would be looking forward to dip their standings a little bit.

San Jose Earthquakes at Seattle Sounders FC
Seattle Sounders FC was just riding on the wave with Freddy Montero pulling the tide on. But their feet have just touched the ground after back-to-back losses. Let’s see if San Jose Earthquakes can just manage to shake there feet a little bit.

Two games are scheduled for Sunday 26th April. It will be a bit more relaxing after having gone through a full house on Saturday.

D.C. United at New York Red Bulls
Both the teams are long time rivals and both are on a high. Red Bulls have won for the first time on Saturday; thankfully their players have started to send football into the nets.

Kansas City Wizards at Toronto FC
Although Toronto FC has defeated the Wizards just once in six meetings, still it could be anybody’s game. Amado Guevara and Claudio Lopez would be the players to watch out for from both the teams.

MLS 2009 Season-Top Ten Highest Paid Players

Money Talks!

David Beckham the Soccer Superstar of Britain has beaten the rest of his counterparts by far and this time we are talking about Dollars. Very few players are lucky enough and worthy enough at the same time to have such a dream debut. He began his MLS career in a grand style. Just two games into the MLS Season and he was already a leading goal scorer with 3 goals in the kitty. Two of his goals have won the Goal of the Week Honors. He scored two goals in the opening match and his efforts were the central force behind the Sounders FC’s spectacular opening to the season as they went on to crush New York Red Bulls 3-0. Later, Real Salt Lake was also not spared by him as he scored a sizzling 28 Yard goal that assured a 2-0 win for Sounders over Real Salt Lake.

Freddy was selected the Player of the Week for his very first week in the MLS season and now the Player of the Month for his very first month in the League. It seems that this fellow is going to take MLS at some other level.
Seattle Sounders thrashed New York Red Bulls 3 – 0 on their home ground. It was just not one odd lucky day for the Sounders FC but was part of a 16th month build up to the opener.

THE MATCH SUMMARY

32, 523 Soccer Fans were present right there at Quest Field Stadium, Seattle as Sounders FC took on the Red Bulls. Sounders team was a more balanced team than the Red Bulls which eventually saw them through.
Freddy Montero and Brad Evans came heavily on the Bulls, former scoring the first goal in the 12th minute and third goal of the match in 75th minute while Evans scored his only goal in the 25th minute of the match. Sounders were aggressive from the very start having kept the ball in there possession for the major portion of the match and also had maximum fouls.
